i mean. canonically. yes. it's not that he thinks draco has done nothing wrong but also, he straight up lies about his role in the events of book 6 bc it's apparently one thing to snitch on snape and another thing to snitch on his "nemesis."

no but for real. I will never be over this. Harry watches Draco confess to and commit multiple crimes right in front of him and tells...no one. Not the Order when he explains what happened right after Dumbledore dies. And apparently not the Ministry either given that in the beginning of book 7 Snape is being sought in connection with Dumbledore's death but not Draco. And we know from the case of Barty Crouch Jr. that it's not because he's young. It's because Harry - the sole available witness to Draco's crimes and confession - seemingly decided not to say anything. (And he also never told any teachers or authorities when Draco tried to use an Unforgivable on him during their duel).

Harry the whole year: *banging pots and pans together* Draco is a Death Eater on a mission from Voldemort! He was totally behind the poison in the mead and the cursed necklace. He needs to be stopped immediately.

Harry, apparently, when asked about Draco after witnessing Draco attack and attempt to kill someone (albeit badly and not enthusiastically), actively aid and abet Death Eaters AND witnessing him confess to 1) multiple instances of attempted murder 2) Imperiusing someone 3) being a Death Eater on a mission from Voldemort just like Harry said 4) letting other Death Eaters into a school full of vulnerable children:

okay so colin got attacked because he was bringing harry grapes. What if Draco was petrified while he was coming to bother harry?

you know that bit in the end of book 6 where the narration is like 'harry had not spared malfoy much thought' immediately followed by a massive paragraph detailing all of harry's thoughts about draco? it would be like that except it would be all 'harry was not especially bothered by malfoy's fate' followed by multiple paragraphs of harry being extremely bothered.

i think harry would be very upset and disturbed by it but probably rationalize it in weird ways. like he'd be all:

'i don't care obviously but also somehow this is especially disturbing bc even someone like malfoy, who i would never think of as vulnerable, could be hurt. and of course i had to learn every detail of how he's doing because there might be clues. this just feel different now. MALFOY. it even got Malfoy?! isn't that wild? doesn't that just mess you up inside and make the world feel wrong? doesn't the castle seem quieter and lonelier somehow? no i don't miss him. why would i miss him? but everything just feels so OFF now. and what could do this? if even a slytherin could be hurt this monster truly has no limits at all. someone has to stop it immediately. things have gone too far. what? it got colin too? colin who?'

hey so the ship doesn't fucking change in any way depending on who you think tops or bottoms in the bedroom. also some people switch! stop being so WEIRD about what gay people do in the bedroom.

i am so sick and tired of seeing people argue about ship names because of the stupid fucking practice of putting the top's name first. i'm talking people using harco instead of drarry cause they see harry as The Top (to use a ship most people know as example)

the ship name should be determined by whatever the fuck sounds best. i've seen people trying to push for using "neuvithesley" over wriolette "because wrio is the bottom". i don't give a fuck what you prefer when you read about them, wriolette is just objectively a better name.

i've seen actual ship wars between people who ship the same two characters but think the top/bottom dynamic is so important that it changes the ship. just goes to show how many mlm shippers simply fetishize gay men and don't give a fuck about the actual relationship aspect.

what people prefer in bed is not necessarily reflected in their behavior in everyday life. not all gay couples have a sub/dom dynamic. some people like to switch it up. y'all seriously need to work on your stereotypes surrounding queer relationships.

not what this post is really about but side note: people also tend to feminize the percieved bottom so much. sometimes it gets to the point where it ends up looking like a straight relationship and it just smells a lot like lowkey homophobia with a whiff of internalized misogyny.

i don't necessarily think this is on purpose/done with malicious intent, but do better.

sorry this was very mlm heavy but femslash readers/writers are usually a lot less weird about this..
