i will never stop being haunted by the "new traveling cloak" line in book 6. i know jkr was just adding in some description and not thinking about the fact that she was writing from harry's pov. but still. she wrote what she wrote, even if she didn't mean it. like. she really went and made it canon that harry has memorized draco's entire wardrobe to the point that he immediately notices a new item. that's a real thing. in canon.

damn. it’s really just the fact that jkr ACTUALLY WROTE THEM LIKE THAT. like when you really look at it, there are SO many instances throughout the WHOLE series that shows this homoerotic deeply repressed relationship between two boys in the nineties enduring SEVERE childhood trauma in a way that literally NO ONE ELSE can relate to. like i could write a dissertation on this shit i’m not even kidding.

because at the end of the day, as a writer i can tell you, THAT’S who makes these stories. the writer’s subconscious. it always knows what the storyline is before the author themselves know what it is.

so yes she may not consciously accept their relationship, but whether it develops in the universe she wrote or not- you can’t deny they had some weird repressed feelings for each other. like in a gay way.
