Walz is a former school teacher, served in the army, and was very pro-active in getting progressive stuff passed in his legislature. Besides codifying abortion/IVF rights, see this list of his accomplishments. A solid pick.

So, I really love the selection of Tim Walz for VP and it’s taken me a moment to articulate why. I mean, obviously, Dem bonafides, he’s sharp, he’s funny, etc etc. But everyone in the Veepstakes fits that bill, Harris was spoiled for good choices.
But Walz offers something that the other men in contention don’t that I think will be incredibly useful in combating Trumpism.
He offers an example and an off ramp to the section of men who felt like they were Republicans by default, and so support Trump by default. There are a lot of Trump voters who are full on obsessive, but that’s not who we’re talking to. We’re talking to folks who grew up in Republican areas, or felt their hobbies didn’t line up with who a Democrat was, or didn’t feel represented by their image of a Democrat. You want to see it so you can be it, you know? Which is why Harris is so inspirational to a lot of segments of folks, but Walz is too.
He served in the military. He went to a state college. He’s your favorite teacher from your public high school. He’s your football coach who actually cared if you were passing your math class. He’s the guy you looked up to at school when your family sucked but this guy cared, and he helped you get out and make something of yourself.
He’s the neighbor who helps you jump your car. He’s your uncle who takes you hunting. He’s your Dad who loves teasing you at the Stare Fair. He’s you when he makes a mistake like his DUI and takes responsibility for it, and when he has the chance makes sure other can come back from similar mistakes. He’s you when you and your wife want so badly to be parents and IVF gives you the family you wanted. He’s you when he says ‘it had to be me’ and used his standing and power to protect vulnerable kids sponsoring the GSA at his school.
He gives the real life example to these men that they can be that football, fishing, hunting family man who wants to provide for his family, be that powerful, respected member of the community and use that power to feed kids in school. That it’s normal to enthusiastically work for a boss like Harris. That yeah those other guys are fucking weirdos, and you’re not a weirdo, are you?
That there’s a place in the Democratic Party for them. That they don’t have to default to being fucking weird.
I hope those guys see this example of masculinity and go… yeah, that’s me. That’s who I’m gonna be.

Standing Up Against Bullying: Supporting Neurodivergent Kids | Media Reaction To Neurodivergence
Thanks for revisiting the "Everything Neurodiversity" channel. In this video, Robert Bernstein and Marcia Eckerd discuss an incident during the Democratic National Convention where Tim Walz's neurodivergent son poured out his love and pride for his father. Unfortunately, some adults in the media responded with hurtful comments, calling him weird and a beta male. This kind of bullying towards neurodivergent kids is unacceptable. Neurodivergent children face three times as much bullying as others, leaving deep emotional scars. It's time to take a stand against bullying and support these amazing kids. Join us in raising awareness and creating a more inclusive society. Please subscribe 🙏    / @everythingneurodiversity
Robert Bernstein and Marcia Eckerd express their concern about an incident at the Democratic National Convention, where Tim Walz's neurodivergent son was seen expressing pride in his father during Tim's acceptance speech.
They highlight the overwhelmingly positive reaction from most viewers but criticize certain media figures who made derogatory comments, calling the child "weird" and a "puffy beta male." The speakers emphasize that neurodivergent kids face bullying three times more than others, which leaves lasting emotional scars.
They stress the importance of supporting neurodivergent kids, noting that while Tim Walz's son will receive support, many others do not, leading to further trauma. The key message is a call to action for everyone—kids, parents, teachers—to stand against bullying and support those who are different.

Elephant in the room time! I’d like to give a summary for everyone here.
I think we have all been waiting for someone to dig up something about Tim Walz, and what they found is a DUI from 1995.
Tim Walz was still a teacher at the time. He was with his friends, watching college football. He chose to drive home, and was pulled over for going 96mph in a 55. He was charged and fined.
Directly afterwards, he tried to resign from his teaching job out of guilt for his actions. He felt terrible, he felt disappointed in himself, and thought he didn’t have the right to teach or be a coach because of it. The principal pushed back immediately, asking him to stay. The principal refused to let him resign.
11 years later he became a member of Congress. 30 years later, he still hasn’t touched alcohol.
His drink of choice is Diet Mountain Dew.
Trump supporters are seemingly oblivious to the hypocrisy of their criticism of Walz. It has been 30 years since Walz was charged with his only misdemeanor. In May of this year, Trump was convicted of 34 felonies.

I’d just like to ask folks to have a little more sensitivity about the “Tampon Tim” stuff—the way Donald Trump and U.S. conservatives are making fun of the democratic vice presidential candidate for putting free tampons in boys’ bathrooms. My girlfriend broke the news to me as though I was supposed to laugh, and it wasn’t until she saw the look on my face that she realized how personal this was to me as someone who’s advocated for menstrual products in men’s restrooms at my school and lobbied for access in prisons in my state. This is about trans guys and I want people to remember that.
I remember seeing a Kaitlin Bennet video where she went around smugly asking people if they thought tampons should be in men’s restrooms, with the obvious intended answer being of course not. We’re a joke to them; being connected to menstruation and menstrual products is already considered embarrassing for women, but for men, it’s downright humiliating and disgusting. As people who need tampons, who can get pregnant, who have breasts, but claim to be men, we are considered a perversion of the sex-gender binary. We cannot exist, and they make that clear. When you leave trans men and mascs out of these conversations, such as by pivoting to jokes about fictional cis men, you are contributing to our erasure. Please just remember who is actually harmed by these sentiments, and listen to our perspectives on it. Thank you.

Y’all, what’s happening in Gaza is awful. But guess what, this election isn’t about Gaza. This isn’t a referendum on how we’ve handled the Palestinian genocide. This election is about our democracy, and about if there will be a genocide HERE in THIS country. I personally don’t want my right to vote taken away, nor do I want to be the victim of a genocide. So for all the people who are smart enough to see what’s at stake here, and smart enough to understand that protesting this election will only end with more deaths, vote blue no matter who, up and down the ballot. 💙🌊🇺🇸

With the U.S. 2024 presidential election less than two months away, here is a friendly reminder that states have registration deadlines in case you need to register to vote in time or double check your registration status (which you should, better safe than sorry).
You can go here to register/check your status. Also, most states have early in-person or mail-in voting if you can't make it on election day. You can also go here to check your state's rules on early voting.

^^^ Added a slogan to a previously published image.
Democrats have an upbeat team which includes neither billionaires nor pseudo-hillbillies.
MAGA Republicans will blow the dust off of ethnic slurs and insults like "San Francisco liberal" left over from the Obama era. They have little going for them except selectively amnesiac nostalgia and decaying white nationalism. It's time to move on from their stale routine.
A sound electoral defeat of Trump-Vance could demoralize the fringe right for the rest of this decade. All that's left for us is to get out the vote. Election Day is November 5th – less than three months away.
