Hey, y’all….
I’m working 40-45 hours a week, trying to get time to write. I’ve been trying to balance family, work, and real life with RP.
I’m not as inspired of late by some of my threads, and it’s hard to juggle RP life with my IRL friends, work, and family.
This isn’t a hiatus, but I am freeing myself up for more casual RP, meme starters, and full epic tales, so long as you don’t mind that it takes a few days to reply.
I’ve had a lot going on in my life, and at my age, I’ve come to realize (with grief therapy)that the stress of trying to keep up with everything isn’t really worth it anymore.
I’m stepping back a bit, but not leaving.
I need time to get my priorities straight, and start to focus on myself, my career, and real life more than here.
Since losing my dad I have been leaned on too hard by my mother, who has narcissistic personality disorder.
The unaccustomed added stress has been affecting me emotionally and mentally for the past four years, worse over the past year.
I feel like I have had to mask myself, and lost interest in many things I used to greatly enjoy.
I’m sorry if this upsets anyone, but I need time to myself and my more local friends and family to handle these events in my life right now.

Btw it's not cool to hate on people without empathy..
I don't care what your reasons are,, just cause I don't feel sad when you're sad doesn't mean in suddenly gonna murder your whole family or something

Happy pride month, but also “happy” narcissistic abuse awareness day! Reblog to give imo a new crown and hurl a narcissistic abuse believer into the void <3

I love people with npd so much. I’m sorry that world is so ableist. I’m sorry that you can’t be anywhere without hearing the word ‘narcissism’ or ‘npd’ used in a negative light. I’m sorry that there isn’t anywhere near enough support.
I’m so sorry that you can’t win. It must be so suffocating and aggravating, living in a world where it feels like everybody hates you. You deserve better.

I think if I hear one more YT channel call that Colleen girl that abused and groomed kids "narcissistic", I'll implode.
Here are some basics:
NPD is a stigmatized disorder.
"Narcissistic" describes a person who has NPD.
I thought people learned this lesson when we removed "psychotic" from the list of insults you can throw around. Guess not.
The words you're looking for are "self-centric", "self-absorbed", "egomaniac", "egotistical".
Being any of the aforementioned does not make you narcissistic.
You can't armchair diagnose people. Yes, not even the shitty ones.
You can't claim that abusive behavior is connected to the person's disorder(s). Abuse is a choice.
By armchair assigning narcissism to shitty people, you are furthering the stigma against narcissistic individuals.
The risks of completing suicide in pwNPD are very high.
Narcissists are not inherently abusive.
Narcissistic abuse does not exist.
Colleen Ballinger is not a person with NPD.
Her actions are her conscious choice; her inability to apologize and make amends has nothing to do with pwNPD.
Leave the term "narcissistic" out of your mouth if you don't know how to use it.
And kindly, shut up about narcissistic traits unless you're narcissistic.

Note
npd + autism culture is
"Hey can you tell me if I do smth shitty? I don't mean to I just have trouble realizing I did a shitty thing because I'm autistic" is a perfectly reasonable request.
"Hey can you tell me if I do smth shitty? I don't mean to I just have trouble realizing I did a shitty thing because I have NPD" makes your an evil manipulator that's just trying to get people to admit what upsets them so you can exploit it and abuse them.
Make it make sense 🙄

Also about npd: I used to watch psych2go and some of their videos about narcissists and one thing that makes p2g extra vile is that they acknowledge that pwNPD are suffering. They acknowledge that narcissists actually have struggles with their self esteem and rely on outside validation sometimes because they don't have a secure sense of self and can't feel like they're enough without being praised by outsiders. And yet they still vilify narcissists!! How can you acknowledge that narcissists do have a real disorder that causes distress to them but still treat them like they're just evil scary abusers?

Fuck the stigma around NPD.
I love narcissists.
I want narcissists to succeed in life.
I want narcissists to find happiness.
I want narcissists to have healthy and effective support systems.
I want narcissists to be able to say they have their disorder without it being demonized.
I want narcissists to take care of themselves.
Because that's what narcissists deserve.
Because narcissists are people.

hey maybe, when people with npd tell you not to call abusers and rapists and the like narcissistic just because they're horrible people, view it not as us defending abusers or trying to control how victims talk about their trauma, and more like i as a survivor don't wanna be fucking put in the same category as an abuser or rapist for no fucking reason because you can't bring it upon yourself to spell the word egotistical

A PSA about mental health terminology because it's important to understand what these actually mean and it annoys me that people use them wrong:
A delusion is when a person believes something unrealistic or unlikely. It can be thinking that people can read your mind, believing you have super powers, thinking someone or a group of people are out to get you, thinking someone is spying on you, that someone or something close to you has been replaced with a clone/replica, etc. It is not thinking someone is mad at you or misinterpreting a situation.
Gaslighting is when you remember one thing, but someone acts like you're wrong. They make you doubt your memory and it can feel like you always overreact. It is not just someone lying to you or being confused. It's a genuine attempt to make the victim feel crazy/wrong.
Intrusive thoughts are typically dark and out of character for the person. They are unwanted and uncomfortable thoughts such as specific acts of violence, incest, sexual harassment, hurting yourself, hurting those close to you, etc. It is not just some silly quirky impulsive act.
Impulsive thoughts are what most people think are intrusive thoughts. Impulsive thoughts, unlike intrusive thoughts, are not typically dark or uncomfortable. It is a brief thought where you want to do something such as major purchases, sticking your hand in a blender, jumping out of a moving car, etc. Whereas intrusive thoughts last for some time, Impulsive thoughts do not and are easy to dismiss.
Psychopathy is an actual trait/condition that affects a person's day to day life. It does not immediately make them a bad person and typically stems from certain traumas. While the symptoms can include poor impulse control and disregard for others, it does not mean the person is violent or a serial killer. Grow up.
Sociopathy is a condition/trait where the patient is numb to all emotions. They could feel one emotion or feel loyalty to friends, but they can live normal lives. It does not mean the person is evil or cruel. They literally have no reason to hurt you and do not care about you. It stems from neglect as a child.
Narcissism is trait/condition in which a person believes themselves to be better than everyone else. Their skills, intelligence, and appearance are all above the average person. Narcissism, as a trait, is treatable and they can change over time. Narcissism, as a condition, is known as Narcissitic Personality Disorder and is not curable (obviously). More research needs to be done in order to better understand the condition, but these people are not all abusers and manipulators and assholes. They are normal people, and if you're going to judge someone purely based on their mental illness, then they are right that they're better than you.
There a ton more that I could add, but I'm just going to put the blanket statement: DO NOT USE ACTUAL DIAGNOSABLE CONDITIONS AS AN ADJECTIVE
Ex: Calling yourself or others OCD, Bipolar, Autistic, Anorexic, Schizophrenic, Psychopathic, Sociopathic, etc. unless they actually have that condition
TL;DR
Educate yourself about what terms and mental health issues actually are before using them liberally, and don't judge people for what they can't control.
