Sephiroth as a Turk helps Aerith escape from Shinra

Rufus and the Turks need to leave and Nation can't go.

Who is the good boy left with and is he ok when Rufus returns?

Boring answer: Rufus has a dog-sitter who's been programmed into Dark Nation's psyche as "acceptable unless they make a move against Rufus". Dark Nation behaves stoically, dutifully eating all his meals and not acting up, but not really being lively either.

Crack answer #1: Daddy Shinra. Dark Nation's conditioning from the labs tells him not to chew this man's face off, but his loyalty and training from Rufus say "DO IT", and Rufus isn't here to clarify. So Shinra's face gets chewed off.

Crack answer #2: since the Turks are busy, ZACK! Zack is so fun! Dark Nation loves Zack! SO MUCH!!! They are bestest of buddies and Zack does a good job of taking pictures and videos of him and DN having the BEST TIME EVER.

They eat a TON of snacks in addition to DN's normal food, they go on long runs in the wastes, and they terrorize everyone in SOLDIER, especially Sephiroth. The two of them like to crowd and lean on Sephiroth and DN likes to lick him. Sephiroth pretends to be annoyed, but he finds kinship in the beast and warmth in both DN and Zack.

They play "fetch Kunsel's helmet from his head, then keep it away from him". They play "who can catch the most fries out of the air". They play "smother the chocobo and the cat with affection". They play "go really fast in every direction". They play "bite the scientist aka OOPS I THOUGHT HOJO WAS A GROSS DEAD THING MY BAD (teehee)". They play "beg Angeal for snax". They play "slam into Lazard and feel bad so we have to lick him better". They play "pretend to bite Genesis and then play dodge-fire-balls".

It is a GREAT time.

Then Rufus comes back, and as soon as DN hears his human approach, DN starts whining and limping and squirming and crying.

"DAD," he seems to say. "DAD, they didn't FEED ME! They TORTURED me! They didn't let me SEE YOU!!! I MISSED YOU SO MUCH AND LOOK HOW SKINNY AND SAD AND SCARED AND INJURED I AM PLEASE STILL LOVE ME!"

Rufus falls for it and cuddles his pup for days after, even though he knows full well from all the videos and pictures that DN had the time of his life.

Prompt:

Tseng is in hell.

Not only is his mentor much younger than he’s supposed to be, but he somehow managed to drag his presumed dead (emphasis on dead; this man should dead) partner back with him.

Shoved into a director’s position until the matter is solved, Tseng has to deal with his boss wreaking havoc.

He had thought reigning in Rude and Reno was troublesome, but these two are just pure nightmare fuel.

It also doesn’t help that Valentine seems to have come back wrong. (Surely Veld would have mentioned if his partner had always been a shape-shifting vampire thing—right?)

OR:

Vincent is a time traveler and Veld has been de-aged by at least 20 years. It’s Hojo’s fault, and they’ve decided to make it everyone else’s problem.

Let's Make A Deal - A Turk Fic

“Tell you what, Mr. “I’ll die trying”,” She began. Reno felt that comfort washing over him. “I’ll make you a deal. If you can get your little plan to succeed then I’ll find a way to come and visit. But only for a little while.”  Reno bit his lip to stop from grinning. Like he needed more incentive to meddle in Elena and Tseng’s personal lives.

Over the phone, Reno tells Cissnei about his attempts to get Elena to make a move on Tseng. She gives him a reason to try a little harder.

Starring: Reno, Tseng, and Elena

Co-starring: Cissnei, Rufus, and Rude.

Various other characters mentioned. Off the top of my head: Veld, Sephiroth, Aerith, Zack, and Elena's sister.

First time doing ships in a LLOOONNGGG time. Even my personal writing project isn't very romantic relationship heavy.

FFVII character's political agenda (without economical axis) imho

(because I need this for fic, that's why). There are no Aerith, Zack or any other known to me dead characters (from the perspective of Advent Children)

From anarchy to full totalitarian regimes. Also somewhere on the axis:

Parlament-president gov > president-parlament gov > constitutional monarchy > russian dictatorship > NK dictatorship > absolute monarchy

The farest into totalitarian regime is absolute monarchy with slavery, patriarchy, weak church, somewhat weak aristocracy.

Cloud. Pure anarchy. He isn't "into politics", but extremely wary of any governmental structure after ShinRa. His friends are the only people who can make him work for Human Machine (any kind of structure that is too big to be considered humanish). Cloud also was an outsider in his own village.

Tifa, Barret and Nanaki aren't far from Cloud. They also don't trust huge Human Machines, but can see sense in authorities. Despite that, leadership is about connection with people not power or anything.

Vincent and Cid can both accept huge Human structure and even work for it, but not inside. Cid by spirit and Vincent because of the traumatic experience.

Reeve is a part of huge human structure. he believes in it and wants it to work for people.

Yuffie, despite believing herself to be authoritarian as a monarch soon learns that structure where choices made not by people isn't for her. So maybe she would even reform Wutai in a form of constitutional monarchy.

Other mentions (even more speculations):

Rufus and loyal turks are authoritarian. New leader is chosen by very specific criteria and under extremely rare circumstances.

Shuriken or Cissney and Kunsel are on the same point as Reeve

Genesis Rhapsodos is similar to Vincent - he could work for Human Machine and even believed in it before his trauma.

Edited: Barret could also act like Reeve in the case Barret Energy (don't remember if that's canon or not), but I don't feel like it's the logical character development for person who gave up leadership almost immediately (disk 2, the Highwind)

Cloud:

* Sky

* Claudia

* Fenrir (or any Norse god/goddess)

* (before Crazyroth) Sephora/Seraphina/Seifer

Our lovely chocobo is many things, but given his mother's choices...maybe creative names aren't his strongest suit. He names his sword "sword".

Zack:

* Kiddo (haha just kidding!)

* Spike v2.0 (haha just kidding!)

* Pupperoni (haha jus- ZACK STOP JOKING AND NAME THE DANG BABY)

* Jack

* Angeal

* Henry/Henrietta (after his dad who I HC as going by Hank)

The guy named his sword after a guy who made swords. He is about as talented and creative as I think Cloud would be in this particular instance.

* Very sensible names for the universe they're in. None of them would have the surname "Shinra".

* Olivia, Noah, Liam, Gabriel, Jade, etc.

(picked from common given names with similar origins to Lazard)

Genesis:

* Send help to his poor children. Please.

* Gabriel, Raphael, Michaelangelo, Castiel, Raziel, Evangeline, Angelica, Seraphina (NOT BECAUSE OF SEPHIROTH, he shall scream, which is a lie)

Basically anything with 3 or more syllables, bonus points for being biblical, angelic, or from Loveless or classical literature.

He is going to be LIVID when Zack points out how many of his favorite names are teenage mutant ninja turtles.

Angeal:

* Very sensible, wholesome given names, with fun and fancy middle names.

* Emma Consuela Hewley

* Johnathan Reynaldo Hewley, but he goes by Jack

He wants them to have an easy time in school and life, but he dearly loves fancy names, partly due to his beloved friends.

Kunsel and the Turks:

* None of your business and you will never know.

Reeve:

* Exclusively Irish/Scottish/Welsh/etc. names, the more difficult to spell, the better.

* Sinead, Saoirse, Pwyll, Gwawl

Roche:

* Same style as Genesis, poor babies.

Veld was always told Turk partners are like a marriage contract: til death do us part, in sickness and health.

Vincent was Veld’s partner. Vincent has been MIA for twenty years, assumed dead.

While looking into another case, Veld comes across one of Hojo’s notes about Vincent.

Veld decides wasn’t ready for a divorce, even if he has to drag Vincent back kicking and screaming, with Chaos (and all three other demons) as his witness.

Vincent’s headmates are more than happy to kick back and be a witness to the hilarity that ensues.
