Shout out to people who can't have kids. Not because theyre infertile or otherwise physically incapable of making a child, but those who cant have kids because they couldnt take care of them in the way they deserve.

To disabled people who would be unable to care for a child due to their disability

To mentally ill people who would be unable to care for a child due to their mental health

To violent people who wouldn't be able to stop themselves being violent towards their child

To autistic people whos meltdowns would stop them looking after a child / would make them violent to their child

To addicts who wouldn't be able to look after a child because of their addiction/the consequences of their addiction

To intellectually disabled people who wouldnt know how to look after a child safely and would not be able to learn

To those that require so much care themselves that they could not care for another

To those with mood swings who may lash out at a child and can't raise children because of that

To people with their own childhood trauma who fear their own trauma would cause them to not raise a child safely

To people with childhood trauma that feel having a child would turn them into their abuser

Theres too much stigma around those of us who cant/shouldnt raise kids. Theres nothing inherently bad about not being a safe person to raise children. It's also okay to want kids even if you know you couldn't raise them! It's okay to be sad about it. You are seen and heard and deserve the comfort and support you need.

i never know how to phrase it but something about the way beatles biographers and people in general view paul's reflexive placating persona and determination to smooth things over as manipulative or duplicitous and john's reflexive barbed persona and habit of lashing out as brave and subversive despite both being equally defensive mechanisms to shield themselves from the world that resulted in them saying things that weren't true says more about how we culturally view kindness or friendliness as inherently untrustworthy or flimsy and anger and carelessness as more believable as someone's true nature than it says about either of them in actuality

This is the story of my four-year-old sister soso whose only crime is to be born in northern Gaza. I hope it will touch you, because I don’t know what to say anymore. I don’t know what to share about our situation anymore.

I have lowered my campaign goal because I have lost hope. I wanted to complete it before March when a new semester will begin so I could register for university again and focus on nothing but my studies. I wanted to rebuild our home so we would avoid the years and years of displacement we went through last time it was destroyed. Maybe I dreamed too big. Maybe my life isn’t meant to be rebuilt.

Can we please achieve that at least? I won’t have a home, it’s okay. I’ll study in a tent, but at least I’ll be able to somewhat focus if our needs are met.

Please, I’m not angry if you can’t donate. I understand. But please at least share, it helps a lot too.

What is my sister’s fault? Why must this be her life? She doesn’t remember our house. She doesn’t remember her cat who was killed by the bombs. She doesn’t remember feeling warm during the winter. All the good things in her life came and went before her brain could form memories. From her point of view, life has always been this genocide. Gaza has always been destroyed. Home has always been one room with no windows and infested by rodents.

Please help me provide for her. She’s had a high fever for the past few days and the blockade is back. The bombs are starting to drop again. This is going to be so hard and I can’t do this alone.

We are so close to our final goal, please, anything can make a difference even if it’s just sharing!

Preschooler apparently took that book about tar pits as a life lesson. Today one of his classmates got their boots stuck in mud on a hike, which led to multiple other children going over to help and also getting stuck.

There is a theory that the way children play serves as a means to simulate and prepare them for the tasks they'll take on as adults. So for all the narrative weight both Jinx and the story give the boxing machine at the arcade it would never have prepared her or the kids to take on Piltover.

What are the two things that Piltovans excel at over their Zaunite counterparts to keep the hierarchy? Weapons and technological development.

When you look at the way Piltovans invest in their children, they don't prioritize hand to hand/melee combat training. Piltovans focus on giving their children experiences in handling firearms, a pursuit that is both leisure sport for the wealthy and a key offense against dissenting Zaunites.

And from the show notes even Jayce, whose family occupies the upper middle class, was sent on educational excursions across Runeterra to explore the world and learn what it had to offer. Without Jayce's education abroad he would never have been inspired to pursue the concept hextech.

It's no wonder that the two figures that are set to be Piltover's biggest threats from Zaun are Jinx and Viktor, becasue they engaged in the same kinds of games and activities as their Piltovan counterparts.

Jinx didn't have an entire forest preserved to help her practice her sharpshooting like the high houses of Piltover, but she did excel in the few games at The Rift (the arcade) that built on her talents. She's the only Zaunite thus far who's long distance offensive is a strong counter to Piltover's forces.

Viktor couldn't travel the world like Jayce did, but for better or worse he managed to stumble into an opportunity to get real opportunity in research not offered to his peers through Singed. It was through that experience that Viktor knew to turn to Singed when he was at the end of his rope, and the consequences of that will be fully realized in season 2.

Ironically, the kind of skill the boxing game champions is only good for keeping other Zaunites in line. Vander's days of fighting Piltover were way behind him when we first met him, and Vi spends season 1 primarily fighting other Zaunites. It's no surprise the Zaunites who embody the old ideal of strength in Zaun that the game portrays, Vi and Vander, are largely at the mercy of Piltover and end up collaborating with them to avoid further harm.

Zaun's future as an independent city-state couldn't happen if they stuck to their old ideals. The people who stand a chance against Piltover are the ones that not only succeed but excel at playing Piltover's games against them.

I think we as a fandom tend to forget about anybody's abuse but Percy and Nico's. While it's definitely not a contest, and i'm not discounting what they went through I feel that we tend to skim over most other characters' backstories and trauma. Jason didn't know who or where his sister was for years, got his memory erased ,and had to rebuild his entire life. Piper mentioned barely seeing her dad, being bullied at school and struggling with being a daughter of the goddess of love and beauty and what that means for her. Leo has suffered abuse, probably has religious trauma, and his mom died in a fire that he probably thinks was at least partially his fault. Hazel's mother was honestly kind of horrible, she died, and she woke up in a place and time where she didn't know anyone and everything was different. Frank's mom died, then his grandmother who raised him dies, and he has to cope with knowing his life could end so abruptly at any time. Annabeth ran away from home at the age of 7, her dad was not a decent dad until later in the series, and one of the only people she has left betrayed her. Reyna has to run the camp while worrying about Jason being missing, was captured by pirates, and had to kill her father. Will Solace was Head Counselor of the Apollo Cabin at 12, has watched countless people die, and had to deal with the knowledge that in his mind he could have saved them. Not to mention Thalia, Luke, Bianca, and countless others.
