#poorly drawn mdzs #mdzs #wei wuxian #jiang cheng #wen qing #a-yuan #I had a few different ideas for what do for 'JC visits WWX in the burial mounds' but I must say...#JC's genuine baffled outburst at why the hell WWX has a child running around really took me out.#WWX for his credit isn't much of a fatherly figure. More of a 'cool uncle that occasionally plays but has work to do.'#I know it is a common fan headcanon to put WWX as a surrogate parent to A-yuan. It's cute though I don't really see it!#All the Wen remnants and WWX have something a lot more complex than a straightforward found family thing going on.#It certainly isn't a little western nuclear family unit. They are bound by trauma and guilt and they will *not* talk about it.#A-Yuan is the representation of all the children lost to the war. He is also a little seedling that there is hope for the future.#And he is an opportunity for WWX to reconnect with his own displaced childhood.#Right now his rather dismissive of him but we'll get there. Wei Wuxian will have his unhealthy coping mechanism moment with this child.#I sure hope nothing bad happens to them! I hope Jiang Cheng just comes by for a nice visit!

one of my favorite things about getting older is that I’m just more sure and more confident in taking control in social situations and making other people feel at ease. I really love it!

#have always wanted to be good at it but it takes time #at least for me #my mom was describing one of her college friends to me the other day #and she goes ‘yeah she was kind of like you. personable and direct and kind.#‘and she was always going to deal with you (positive) instead of ignoring you’#honestly compliment of all time! because it does not come totally naturally to me #and there’s a lot that gets in my way—shyness anxiety a certain stiffness #but I love when i can feel it sort of giving way #anyway just rambling #also once again teaching has helped with this so much #because kids HAVE to be guided through a social situation. they don’t know what to do #and if I let them run it it’s always stupid #so just taking control asking the questions kind of —situating them so we can have a moment and then I can dismiss them #not that I do the same with adults lol. but works more often than you think #just having some direction and taking charge of a social interaction #I remember this comedian once saying he loved when someone took control in a social situation re: greetings/handshakes/hugs #like ‘oh thank goodness someone is figuring this out’ it’s so true and so funny skskdkdjd #I hope there is nothing peremptory about it! but I often find I’m so much ruder by doing nothing #than by being proactively kind and (hopefully) appropriate to the occasion #you know I’ve spoken on it before but my life really changed #when I made myself go back and say goodbye to my students after graduation my second year teaching #like. I literally ran away because I was so shy and it felt so awkward and no one was taking charge of how to do it #and the students wouldn’t (can’t) so it felt like they didn’t want to #and then I realized no—if someone is going to take the lead here it has to be me #and then I did! and there was in fact so much love waiting for me #people just don’t know how to show it #so you have to give them an opportunity #this is so many thoughts but I feel this sooooo much and I care about it so much

i dont like when character being blunt/having no filter = character just being Mean, and im trying to find a good balance with that for Talon. I guess it's not that hard since he's not an (active) overthinker and I have drawn him saying things he considers neutral that seem rude to others...I guess I have to find a way to show the opposite, too

#talkys #oc text #active overthinker bc he does have mindsets that would be Overthinking but theyre more like #''the brain fell to this conclusion'' vs ''this conclusion was arrived at after hrs of thinking''#also the balance would be because he of course does have to at least consider his words often #and i know there are things he doesnt want to reveal to others‚ or sometimes he doesnt Want to say things that could #influence someones emotions in one way or another #but i think thats solved by the ''neutral (to him) statement'' part of it #just like when i drew him saying smunker's face was really round (to smunker himself)#skunker took that as an insult but talon was just Stating Observation #similarly Talon would have to strain certain compliments to people he enjoys through clenched teeth sometimes #due to the vulnerability of it all of course #but we could also just go the ''It's Just An Observation he states neutrally‚ without thinking'' route here #except received positively #i think thats harder for ME the writer to figure out tho bc im the overthinker #and also positive stuff harder to keep neutral and surface level #maybe it rly just is thinking vs unthinking #catching self thinking about complimenting al = why would i embarrass myself this way #the words simply escaping before the thought catches up‚ without being too detailed‚ solely #based off of what he's observing at that moment = ✅#also dont get me wrong talon IS purposefully mean pretty often LOL but i didnt want that sole connection to Being Blunt #ok gn yey ^_^

I gave the Enderstones to The Emperor btw if anyone was curious as to my end game choices. This Tav didn't take a single tadpole the ENTIRE GAME so suddenly choosing to become an ilithid at the end seemed OOC for her (also Karlach was almost sobbing asking me to let her do it instead because she didn't want that to happen to me but that's neither here not there.)

And I didn't get a screenshot of it because I was LOCKED. IN.regarding the story and drama. But The Emperor smiling and saying "Thank you" had me like "YES THIS WAS THE RIGHT CHOICE AAAAAH"

Also it took me way too long in the game to be able to notice how his expression changes when he smiles but I got there in the end lol

Edit: also not getting an achievement for not taking a single tadpole seems like a bit of an oversight :/

And I did them on my own! :D Extra pleased with myself :3 #My slightly cocky attitude of ''Well that was frustrating - luckily I'll never run into another problem again'' amuses me lol #'Cause in the moment everything's flying! The code comes together lovely and it's all great! And then I come up to the next thing #Something I haven't done before - something that there's no Direct how-to of how to do a thing #Like setting player-and-character pronouns! I didn't know how to do that! But I figured it out!! :0 What a rush haha #It really did take me an evening of knocking my head against the wall in attempts - I waaaayyy overcomplicated it to start haha #I was like - trying to set up a system that would call on specific pronoun sets individually based on player input #Ridiculous - so much easier to just slap some values into an envelope and have those tied to a specific shell lol #But that took all night! I got sleepy while working on it and even my drowsy brain was like Wait...what am I supposed to check against? Haha #Such a weird experience subconsciously as well :0 'Cause I had normal dreams that night #Maybe some slight code-adjacent dreams of A Screen With Text On It but that could be anything :P #Most of it was just normal dream melodrama - but in the few times I woke up to readjust or roll over or pull my blanket #It was juuuuust enough for my ''conscious'' brain to kick in and think about what to compare against - what structure would work #And so by the time I woke up proper I had to frantically write down a bunch of code in a spare word document so I wouldn't go stir crazy lol #Breakfast must wait! Dailies must wait! I Have to write this down!!#And when I implemented it - it worked exactly as I hoped it would and is much much Muuuuuch simpler to call upon haha #Wow! That was a weird fluke that definitely won't happen again! Haha #I don't actually believe that I just have no way of guessing which aspect will trip me up - This Should Be Easy! And then it isn't lol #Definitely didn't predict the second - Especially because other than a small roadbump of not knowing how to Shell-Switch (ty again Cherry ♥)#Everything up to then was going well and everything after that was going fine! Until The One Thing happened pffbtl #I wanted to assign a value to check if a specific piece of code was being called upon - basically a fork between two outcomes #That went fine! The value Was changing! But only the first fork was being called???#No lol I just didn't put the second = ugh pft - and what's more frustrating is that I'd been using == up to that point!! I'd been warned!!!!#I - for some reason - was convinced that using && would make the value check Only need to check If x = 1... That's not how it works......#It's an If statement! If x = 1 then why do I have to check IF x == 1! Just check!!! Hwagh rules and whatnot lol #Like I said it's all fixed now but sheesh! What a silly mistake! I knew better!! And now I double know better haha

I see and hear so many people going "I can relate to Simon", "I defently am like Wille", "I can see myself in Felice"

But here I have to dit with the knowelage that I can't say those things cause if we talk about "Which character in Young Royals are you?" I will have to say August.

I will have to talk about my obsessive need to be liked by everyone around me, talk about how I put a shit ton of my self worth on the school I go to even though I am failing right now, talk about the ED and other mental illnesses I also didnt want to admit to having. I will have to talk about how I have this idea of what love is supposed to be which makes me rush into it only to know I will break both of our hearts because my idea of love has been off for years. And like don't get me wrong, I would never post pictures or videos of people online, I don't get angry like August does, but I would have to talk about the way he feels anger. The way it just keeps stewing inside until it is to much and I do something I really fucking shouldnt have done.
