Angel Bear (they/it) is a sexless genderless nonbinary bear plush! they are very, very old (thousands of years) but look young! (~18). it has OCD, they're autistic (mid support needs) and has AFRID. they are young at heart of love taking care of others, especially kids cause they feel young inside. they are shy at first but loud when you get use to them! their fav stim is twirling and hand flapping.
Celebration Bear. he is a plush bear. he's an older kid. he's a trans youth. he's a trans boy. he's mid support needs. very anxious but also adventurous at the same time. hates surprises. he's a big gift giver. fashion icon he is self conscious of his confetti.. he can do makeup pretty well. he's been a Dreamer's Care client since his autism diagnosis at age 4. he's semiverbal, had unspecified tic and seizure disoder. he struggles with AFRID and his special interest is plushies and collecting them and posting about them and daydreaming about them and researching them..

I love vocal stimming. I had to mask it all these years and my therapist encouraged my stimming and to do it when I feel safe and I can stim and tic around my mental health team

hi im mac and this lighting made me feel cute don’t @ me
anyway, hi! today im participating in the mental health may meetup, hosted by @phandom-hotline ! im going to share a tad bit about my mental health and my ‘road to recovery’, i guess. so if you’re sensitive about things like depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and all that, i recommend that you don’t read this.
anyway, i currently am doing an outpatient mental treatment for my ed/mental illness(es), which is one way im learning to recover. i currently struggle with depression, anxiety, bulima, adhd, ocd, ptsd, odd, and this might not seem like a mental disorder but it does happen due to my brain, but i have random tics as well (and no, i do NOT have tourette’s). it sucks, because i have countless meds i have to take due to all these, along with the meds i have to take for my physical illnesses (long story, but my body is honestly mush at this point), but also because all these mental problems make me seem weak for not being strong. ive had multiple suicide attempts before, and i constantly feel weak and unsupported due to my family situation and my friends not knowing what to do or how to help me. but im slowly, but surely, learning to recover. it’s going to be a long process, i know that, but im trying. im trying to replace all my bad habits (like self harming) with good ones. ive taken up journaling, drawing, making my own music, and acting, and so far it has helped.
to all those out there who are struggling with mental problems, just know that i am here for you if you ever need to vent. but i do recommend getting professional help if you do feel like your problems have been going on for a while. i love you all, and would be devastated to lose any one of you
SUICIDE HOTLINE: tel:1-800-273-8255
i love you all, and i wish you the best 💕

I hope everyone who I help realize that 'anxiety tics' aren't a separate tourettes-like condition know i DON'T think they're faking their tics, even if anxiety tics where their original diagnosis.
Doctors are TERRIBLY misinformed about tourettes and if your not an AMAB, then the chances of being diagnosed with a tourettes or tic disoder dramatically lower because of male biases in the research and treatment of tourettes and tic disorders.
If you're ticcing, you DESERVE a better explanation than "its just anxiety"; there's no proof anxiety cause tics and you've been medically neglected. If you need help advocating for yourself for second opinions or a neurologist, I'm 10000% here for you.
I think SO many of us with tics have been medically neglected and we deserve the proper treatment, I stand with you!

Note
tic disoder culture is having tic attack that looks like you're dancing- hands waving in the air, hips swaying from side to side, head bobbing and jazz hands mostly

Not all disabilities are visible. But for us? A lot of time it is. Some sys members can mask and suppress tics but tbh we have too may alters that you can tell we're autistic (or something is up), and have mental and physical illness. We have had sensory overloads and meltdowns and shutdowns in pubic, panic and anxiety attacks in public. We tic, often. We stim often. we often need mobility aids etc etc.
Just cause ppl often can tell we have a disability doesn't mean everyone can tell for everyone. We have hidden disabilities. On our good days our disabilities are not gone, you would just think we're just an average fellow. We barely have good days anymore. A lot of the time we fight through the pain, and try to act as normal as possible. Fuck being normal. We want to be ourselves. We are disabled. We need help and support. We are doing our best to stop trying to act like someone else. Someone who's not disabled. Because we are.
If you are disabled, whether it's visible or hidden, you are valid. You are disabled. You are worth fighting for. Keep going.

Hey :P so theres a few caveats to the one post of mine you reblogged and its important so I just wanted to hope on here and share- its also VERY common that anyone AFAB to be diagnosed with FND when they actually have a tic disorder or TS and more recent studies suggest that if your only FND symptom is tics, it is more likely a misdiagnosed tic disoder. Theres also the possibility to have FND and a comorbid tic disorder- so basically what I'm saying is keep asking questions, looking for information, and advocating for yourself because theres an insane amount of misunderstanding with these disorders! Just wanted to paint a fuller picture than what was said in just that one post, hope this helps a little! Good luck!
Thank you, I've been diagnosed with FND for about 5/6 years now, my first symptoms were tremors and then passing out and seizures. They didn't even send me to the neurologist until I passed out for 6hrs.
I also get nerve pain and functional weakness.
They spent a lot of time on trying to stop me from using a wheelchair that they ignored my concerns on tics, so your post was a relief knowing there's actually something I can do for them.

Animal noise tics are weird. I'm dealing with it rn. I'm feeling more catlike today? i've never had a full shapeshift into any animal and stuff but i feel like i'm catlike rn? That's what's on our mind because we are not suppressing so hard cause we are home alone. Dealing with tic attacks and feeling very overwhelmed and overstimulated - Honey

Just finished therapy an while ago. Did my best to unmask and not suppress tics. Be ourselves which we can only be alone. Trying to unmask and suppress less around my mental health team Ticced and stimmed a lot and made a lot of noises too. Hope she doesn't hate me or think we're faking. She was kind. We talked about how I really need to be taken care of and how I have that need and to see positive stuff and possible another member on my mental health team and stuff. Gonna work on positive stuff, coping mechanisms and work on no SH but I told her we don't care if we SH we just haven't yet. I said at least I don't care about staying clean, it's a coping mechanism for us. Anyways yeah we're working with our team on coping mechanisms and talking through stuff and identifying feelings and coming mechanisms and thoughts to stay safe and not end up hospitalized and stuff.. - Shane
