"the definition of bread is a linguistic difference. What non-german speaking parts of the world see as bread is simply because of language. Just because german is so strict with the definition and I go crazy seeing various non-bread baked goods (by german definition) get called bread, doesn't that mean it isn't bread by other languages definition." <- me talking to myself whenever I see a 'bread' poll

i love that sophie spends so much of early leverage trying to act kind of impressive or cool or mysterious or powerful, even to the team - BUT the leverage team all know she’s a dork. they’ve known since day one when they first saw her, giving her very awful theater performance, and they really, really don’t care. they love their weird dramatic theater geek grifter friend. she tries to be all cool & mysterious and they’re just like "that’s great soph, but we’ll be hanging out at nate’s apartment the HQ watching a movie when ur done with that".

i think franco did a wonderful job today !! he absolutely killed it and he should be proud of himself . i'm genuinely really glad to see that he's being treated well by williams and is getting the support a driver needs and deserves in this sport .
i also think what should be remembered is that logan didn't get to drive the same car franco is driving right now . and on top of that , jv's "support" of logan this year has been incredible fake and killed logan's confidence . he quite honestly didn't have a proper support system within that team .
franco is driving the williams car with all the upgrades , the same one alex has . logan was forced to drive a car with parts from 2023 . both the front wing and rear wing were from 2023 . a car that was overweight by 15 kilos (33 lbs) . a car that was already bad and only was made worse by the fact that it didn't have the same upgrades as alex did . a car that was absolutely impossible to drive and constantly had problems -- remember how often logan's steering wheel was messed up ??
logan's possibilities of an amazing performance were overshadowed by a car that would get upgrades only to have them promptly taken away . they were overshadowed by the fact that no one -- not even the goddamn commentators , whose JOB is to do the research that we are doing -- could properly do their research on what kind of a tractor logan was driving . everyone was under the immediate impression that logan had the same car as alex when that was the furthest thing from the truth .
and now franco is driving a car that is , indeed , finally equal to alex's car . a car that finally has all the upgrades . of course it's amazing that he's matching alex's pace and i am genuinely so happy for him for that ! but it should also be remembered that he's driving a car that is leagues better from what logan had to drive .
the way that everyone is automatically turning around to talk bad about logan and say "look !! look !! this guy is doing better than logan ever could do !! see !! logan does suck !!" is unfair to logan and shows a lack of proper research . it's truly gobsmacking to see how everyone jumps on the logan hate train and yet they refuse to do any substantial research to understand that logan was driving in a car that no driver could possibly succeed in .
i truly do hope that people realize in the future , specifically the near future , that logan was not treated properly this year . that people realize how logan was constantly given a shit hand and told to make something out of it when that was impossible considering the state the car -- and the team , i mean look at how they messed up with alex today ??? -- was in .
like don't even get me started on how williams messed up with alex today . that was just embarrassing on the team's end . absolutely insane what these drivers have to deal with .

Sam did not study and try to be like his big brother since he was FOUR YEARS OLD just for some people on twitter to say that “no one in Deans life really knows him except for Cas”. EXCUSE ME. Did we not all watch the same show?? Sam is LITERALLY Deans entire world, no one compares to Sam in his eyes. To say that Sam doesn’t know Dean is saying that you actively don’t pay attention to anything in this show and that’s crazzyy. There’s 15 season of this shit. Sam knew that Dean wanted a fucking slinky without even vocalizing it to him. THAT is how much he knows him and pays attention to him.

I'm once again asking for part of the fandom to stop Runaan's uwufication
Ezran has all the rights to be pissed, he killed his father. Ezran is a 12 y.o who's going way too much at such a young age in a short period of time.
Rayla loves her father and Callum loves Rayla and knows how terrible losing a parent is (he lost three), that's why he was okay with freeing him, but Ezran has a total different relationship with Rayla and different views from Callum, on top of that, he just lost his kindgom.
Runaan is a grown ass man who killed Ezran's dad and trained his empath daughter to be an assassin, trying to kill her later when she opposed him. He's not a "uwu gay bean" he's an adult with terrible life choices and Ezran arresting him is a total valid response.

I've been seeing some discussion about Overwatch's new characters and Kiriko on Twitter following the MHA crossover event and, as someone who's not totally in the loop of OW lore anymore, what does Kiriko... do. Like, what does she contribute to the story of Overwatch and Talon and the Omnic Crisis, how is she involved. I know she trained with the Shimada brothers when she was a wee embryo, but what's her connection to... Overwatch. Girl, what are you doing here.

I feel like we, as a fandom have never collectively discussed how fucking awesome Rachel Elizabeth Dare is. I honestly think she's the most underappreciated character in the entire fandom. Like demigods, she's incredibly creative, thinks and behaves outside of what's expected of her in the mortal world, and has this incredible power of sight that no one else has. She hates her father for being a developer, she volunteers in her free time to help raise money for art programs for kids, she's a great friend to Percy, she's incredibly brave (i.e. going into the labyrinth because 'she had no summer plans' , flying into a war zone, hitting Kronos with a blue hairbrush), she's really funny, but all everyone talks about is how much they hate her because she's a rival for Percy's affections but when you think about it... hello!!! Of course Percy has a crush on her she's "just as brave as Annabeth", incredibly creative, has complex feelings towards her family and her own identity... are you sensing a pattern!! Percy has a type!! All of this is made funnier when you realize Rick Riordan describes Becky (his wife) as a creative who he trusts with everything like he basically wrote two incarnations of his wife in a love triangle LOL

Just finished Deadpool and Wolverine WW3
So much to go over, so I thought I might try to convince you all to read it while I’m rabidly fixating.
For a Deadpool and Wolverine comic, I think this one is arguably the most intense, riveting, brutal, heartbreaking, and gay of them all.
SPOILER WARNING!!! I can't promise minimal spoilers since I'm going in-depth, so be warned that this is spoiler territory.
During this comic, Logan is almost drawn towards Wade. For a man who supposedly hates Wade's guts, he's more than willing to travel to Russia when Wade summons him. Once there, he finds Wade has been turned into a bloodthirsty cyborg to entertain the rich. As someone who's been experimented on himself, he naturally feels sympathy for what Wade has become and sticks around to help him.
After being dropped in the Russian wilderness together, Wade finally begins to snap out of his brainwashed state. He asks why Logan came to save him, to which Logan replies that he asked him to come. Wade apologizes for bringing him all this way and says that Wade was frightened when he summoned Logan. The question is, why Logan? Why did he call Logan when he was scared, and why would Logan come if he supposedly hated Wade?
Anyways, as the two trek through the Russian wilderness, Wade begins to physically/mentally weaken. So, of course, Logan does what any normal person would do; he cuts out a chunk of his leg for Wade to eat!! Cannibalism as a metaphor for love, anyone? He cares enough about Wade to feed himself to Wade, how fucking nuts is that?? Guys, friends don't do that for one another.
Tumblr media
Later on, during an intense fight with some enemies (and a huge monster), Wade "dies." Logan genuinely mourns Wade. Once again, this is coming from the guy who supposedly hated Wade's guts at the beginning of the comic. I would say he mourns because his travel partner just died, but we all know it's more than that.
As he mourns (and fights for his life), Logan becomes aware that Wade has literally begun to regenerate on/in him and is connected to his back (Best I just show you the frame for this one)
Tumblr media
(Kinda nasty; I'm sorry)
Weird Blob Wade explains that their blood mingling resulted in Wade regenerating while connected to Logan's body (possibly leeching off Logan’s energy??)
There's a few pages where they share a brain and body, which is INSANE. Like, I don't know if it can get much gayer than that. Truly. They have shared their bodies with one another (in a non-sexual way this time around), which I feel is more intimate than sex would have been in this situation.
The comic ends with Wade fully regenerating and the two going on a killing spree (classic), but not before Wade says this:
Tumblr media
("When you say "@*** off" it sounds like "I Love You")
In summary:
Cannibalism is a metaphor for love
These two literally sharing their bodies with one another
The unrefuted fact that Wade and Logan are DRAWN TO EACH OTHER.
This comic is batshit insane, and I highly recommend it.

Thinking about Curly too because you mfs give him too much leeway!!! FUCK CURLY MAN!!
So like, obviously, what happened to him was tragic but he could've prevented the events of the game so easily. Firstly, he's the one who got Jimmy on the ship. Jimmy's not supposed to be there, he literally isn't even a freighter pilot. It's heavily implied the reason Jimmy is on the ship is that Curly was helping him run from the law.
This exhibits Curly's biggest problem in the game. He's Jimmy's friend first and his boss second. He puts Jimmy ahead of everything, so despite his past history of what we can presume to be violence, he puts him on a small ship with other people who are now vulnerable to his abuse. And he knows, he's aware that there's a chance these people could be victimized by Jimmy and says and does nothing. This next part is my personal theory, but I think he knew Daisuke was coming with them before he invited Jimmy, he just didn't say anything.
Curly's second big sin is what he does to Anya. He finds out what Jimmy's been doing to her and he says he'll do something, anything. But he doesn't. I said it earlier, but I think Anya thought that Curly would have Jim arrested on landing, but even then, there's some short term things he could've done. Here's a list actually because oh my god, there's so much he could have done.
Set up a bed for Anya in medical. Y'know, a door with an actual lock.
Put Jimmy in a cryopod as a holding cell.
Fire Jimmy, which seemingly wouldn't do much until you remember you need the captain to do half the shit on the ship.
Lockdown Jimmy, essentially lock down anything Jimmy could use as a weapon. The only two weapons on the ship are guarded by codes, but anyone could figure them out in a couple days. this goes hand in hand with the last one.
Literally just fucking kill him.
And before someone says "Oh, if Curly did anything, Jimmy would've acted out, he would've turned violent anyway." There are four other crew members and one Jimmy. If Jimmy had turned violent so early on, I fully believe Daisuke could've just bodied him. It wouldn't be that hard to pacify him if, say, he was ganged up on by three men.
The problem at the end of the day is that Curly is Curly, Jimmy's best friend before he's Captain Curly of the Tulpar. He cares more about Jimmy than the well-being of the people he's supposed to care about. He doesn't take Jimmy seriously when he is outwardly awful and pretty much straight up tells Curly he's gonna crash the ship. Like Curly does nothing because he doesn't think of Jimmy as a bad person. He can't even comprehend it until he's in a position where he's completely at Jimmy's mercy.
Now there's a couple of interpretations on the metaphor of what Curly's disability means and I'm gonna yap about at least 2, idk I'm just ranting.
The first one is that Curly is now Anya, or rather in her position. He's got no agency over his own body, he literally can't move, and he's forced to trust Jimmy with his life. He's in constant pain, he wants to die, and he can't. Anya cannot stand giving Curly his medicine so she lets Jimmy do it. She's putting a vulnerable person at Jimmy's mercy, just like Curly did, except this time he's on the receiving end. And whenever it's just Curly and Jimmy alone in the med bay, Jim is just beating the shit out of this guy for no reason. Like there is no need to be doing all that, but Jimmy is a violent person, and Curly just ignored it for too long.
The second interpretation that I also really like it that Curly is Anya's baby. Jimmy has done something heinous and it's left Anya caring for someone she can't feasibly support. Her ability to keep Curly alive for so long is a testament to how resilient and determined she is, but at the end of the day she can't take it. It's not just the fact that she has to care for Curly that drives her to take her life, it was a lot of things, but the stress of dealing with Curly was definitely part of that.
This next part isn't Curly's fault, it's Pony Express' but if he survives long enough to be found, he no longer has a future. He can't be a pilot anymore, he'll more than likely be forced to take responsibility for the deaths of the crew, the rehab process will take years and probably hundreds of thousands of dollars. He's cooked. This leans into the him becoming Anya thing, he's been put in a position where he can't work but is forced to deal with a heavy financial burden. The difference is, this is his own fault.
He could've prevented all of this if he hadn't ignored all the red flags. In the dead pixel scene he says the one pixel doesn't hinder his enjoyment of the whole image, he can ignore it. That's what he did. When he looks a the bigger picture or the grand scheme of things he can ignore a few dead pixels. The way he sees it, he's given Jimmy a whole year to pull himself out of a "struggle" so when he gets back to Earth things will be okay again. In his eyes, Jimmy's bound to have a few slip-ups and unfortunately, what he did to Anya was one of them. So that's just a pixel he can ignore.
LONG STORY SHORT, CURLY IS AN ENABLER AND LITERALLY THE ONLY WAY HE WAS GONNA LEARN WAS IF HE BECAME A VICTIM TOO!!!!
Apologies if any of this is worded weird, it's just brain vomit.
I also did an Anya rant

The thing about Teruhashi is that she isn't "the peak of femininity", she's the epitome of what the patriarchy wants women to be.
Men are nice to her, love her and give her things -- but it isn't really for her. Men go out of their way to give her attention because they hope they will get attention from a pretty girl in return. They might not want her to do anything specific -- they just want her to exist for them, and to always be smiling at them, because they think that's what a pretty woman should be. According to the patriarchy, pretty women exist to be lovely and to brighten everyone's days. If they're not then there's no point to them.
Honestly I think Teruhashi has made it her mission to be "perfect" in this way because it's that way she feels she has control over the situation. Weaponising her beauty and manipulating people is all she can do because she can't use her voice. People listen to her, yes, but only because she's pretty and nice for them. They love her, but they don't respect her as a person. I believe that if Teruhashi was truly upset about something she would probably be labeled as "crazy" -- and she knows this, which is why she tries so hard to make even her tears palatable and pretty.
That's why it sort of rubs me up the wrong way when she's praised for her efforts by Saiki. Why should forcing ourselves into a mould for men to admire us be praised? It's sad that Teruhashi has to do this. It's sad that she has to act and perform to feel like she has even a little control over the waves of people constantly fawning over her. She did not choose this life. Why should Teruhashi be praised for being a good girl and fitting into the patriarchy? I don't know if that was the intended message but that's what it feels like at times and it's frustrating! It's so frustrating!
My one hope is that she does refuse to answer a guy's question after she faints that one time, which paints a hopeful picture of her future character development. I do wish they'd taken this a bit further, but, hey ho.
In short, "the peak of femininity" is not something that really exists, because we are all our own people. Being a woman shouldn't be about living for others, it should be about being a fucking human like anyone else.
