wrote this a while ago for @mckeeks and found it in my notes so I thought I'd post it while I work on my other drafts. so here's a sweet little piece of huskerdust comforting reader after a bad day at work... in their own unique way, of course. (features fluff and sexual references).

"'m sorry work is..." Husk seems to lose the words, his cheek pressed against your hair, just above your temple. He's pulled you back into his arms, cradling your back against his chest. Arms wound around your middle, he lets careful claws trail a soothing pattern along your forearm. "Work."

You sigh, words for once failing you. Instead you turn your head slightly towards him, and Husk takes the wordless movement as a request. He presses his lips against your temple, rubbing his cheek there in that comforting way he only reveals in private.

"Ya know, Cherri's left more than a few of her toys layin' around here," Angel notes. He's sprawled comfortably on top of you like some kind of blanket, all four of his visible arms wrapped around your thighs, your hips. He rests his chin on your stomach, just below your navel and gives you a teasing, caring smile. "If ya want, we can totally torch the place."

You can't help it; you laugh, your cheeks feeling tight from where you've let the tears you cried out of sheer stress dry on your cheeks. You reach down to run your fingers through the spider's hair, and his smile widens, softens into contentment. "I appreciate the offer, but I don't know if that would actually solve anything."

"Don't fuckin' deserve you anyway," Husk murmurs as he bumps his cheek against the side of your throat, an endearing protectiveness ringing clear even in his quiet baritone. He tilts his head up and kisses the underside of your jaw, and you exhale shakily, turning your head to catch him in a kiss. You can feel Angel drawing comforting shapes on the curve of your waist, and Husk kisses you soft and slow and deep, letting it linger in a way that makes you forget, just for a moment, that there's anything more than the three of you.

A deep, rumbling purr rolls through him and into your spine, and you hum softly against his lips before pulling away. Husk bumps his forehead against yours gently.

"Ya know what always makes me feel better?" Angel suggests, and Husk fixes him with a stern look from over your shoulder.

"We ain't gettin' high."

Angel lets his jaw drop, sitting up enough to hold a hand to his chest in faux-offense. "How dare ya, Huskie, thinkin' so little of poor, innocent--"

You laugh quietly, covering his mouth with your hand before he can continue his theatrics. "Just tell us, honey."

Angel wiggles his eyebrows at you suggestively from behind your hand, and you roll your eyes, even as a tired smile plays on your lips despite yourself.

"As much as I appreciate the offer, I'm not exactly feeling very sexy right now."

"Always sexy," Husk mutters, his lips just below your ear. It makes you shiver, as does the way his wings encircle the three of you. "But I'm votin' for sleep. Ya brain needs a break."

"She wouldn't be doin' a lotta thinkin' my way, either," Angel points out jokingly. Husk smacks him with a wing and the spider giggles, pushing himself off you so you can roll over and curl up against Husk's chest. As soon as you're settled, he lays down behind you, wrapping his arms around you so you're cocooned in their embrace. "Fine. But ya change ya mind, ya jus' say the word. We'll make ya cum so hard you'll be cross-eyed. Fixes everythin'."

Husk snorts a laugh as you chuckle, and you feel the bartender press his lips against your forehead. "Sleep, baby. We're not goin' anywhere."
