Before they were conjunxed, Knockout would ask Breakdown to buff his back as a way to be flirty and spend time with him but Breakdown was the most nervous wreck ever the first couple of times.

Idk why, but, in a lot of fics in Transformer One on ao3, the mining bots don't know what interfacing is. And lowkey, that's such an interesting worldbuilding dynamic.

Interfacing isn't exactly necessary for there to be new bots, so there isn't reay a reason to teach the lower class mining bots, as interfacing could get in the way of their work

It also shows the taking away of the option of sexual relationships for mining bots, as they don't even know what interfacing is. Like stated before, it could get in the way of their work, so they do t teach them what it is

Interfacing is usually seen as something intimate, and since most bots go their whole lives without being conjunxed or finding romantic partners, there isn't really a reason to worry about it (I don't really think the robots get urges in the way humans do, so it's not like an "it just happened" thing either).

It shows the dynamics of characters who genuinely don't know what sex is and therefore have no reason to be embarrassed or ashamed or find it embarrassing to ask questions, as they genuinely don't know the cultural connotations or anything like it.
