Now, I know what you're thinking... "Thaidakar-Lover, whats this have to do with the Cosmere?" Nothing! Absolutely nothing! I'm not really into the Cosmere at the moment. (Though Kelsier is still the sexiest many to grace fiction/reality.) HTTYD is one of my favorite franchises of all time! I adore it! I love it with my whole tit and the other one too. Race to the Edge is such an incredible show. I've felt so awful, so incredibly down. So stuck in my head, filled with self-loathing and suicidal ideation and nothing helps me like a dose of HTTYD. But the best park of this show? The villains.

These two are brothers. Ryker is voiced by JB Blanc, a favorite of mine, and Viggo is voiced by Alfred Molina, a classically trained London voice actor with the most svelte, charismatic voice I've ever heard. Seriously, he could spin silk with that voice. Viggo is incredible and even years later, I still love him. I remember him being so popular when the show was current.

Seriously. Watch the movies, watch the shows. This ones on Netflix. It's all quality writing. Yes, it's for kids so you'll have to deal with some kiddie humor at times. (Dragons like to fart a lot.) but it's also pretty damn great. I like to imagine a hard R cut with movie graphics and graphic gore. And swearing.

Got sick of studying aerodynamics and so decided to rewatch rtte and man, can we appreciate the clouds in the background in the entire httyd franchise? They're so fluffy an pretty, actually forget the clouds, all the backgrounds and dragon designs are amazing, I love 'em so much.

i love the idea that viggo's issue is that he's always overestimating the dragon riders and that's why he loses. other antagonists always underestimate them, they don't put in all the necessary precautions, which allows the riders to slip through, always throwing parties and gloating before the dragon is in the cage. but viggo?

my man takes so many precautions, his entire island is a war base, and yet, and YET the dragon riders got in by dyeing snotlout's hair blonde, giving him gucci boots and naming him sir ulgertorpe, SIR ULGERTORPE. viggo got catfished by snotlout with blonde hair. he's overestimating them so bad that the IDEA of them "just walking in" doesn't even come to mind. he's ready for fire and death to fall from the sky but a one-legged boy pulling a fast one on him breaks his fancy little english brain.
