i love the idea that viggo's issue is that he's always overestimating the dragon riders and that's why he loses. other antagonists always underestimate them, they don't put in all the necessary precautions, which allows the riders to slip through, always throwing parties and gloating before the dragon is in the cage. but viggo?

my man takes so many precautions, his entire island is a war base, and yet, and YET the dragon riders got in by dyeing snotlout's hair blonde, giving him gucci boots and naming him sir ulgertorpe, SIR ULGERTORPE. viggo got catfished by snotlout with blonde hair. he's overestimating them so bad that the IDEA of them "just walking in" doesn't even come to mind. he's ready for fire and death to fall from the sky but a one-legged boy pulling a fast one on him breaks his fancy little english brain.

guys I had this awesome dream the other night where viggo captured hiccup, because he wanted the dragon eye, but his form of “torture” was tying hiccup to a chair and forcing hiccup to listen to viggo sing mr bad guy by Freddie mercury 💀

what’s even funnier was that I’m pretty sure he didn’t even really want to capture hiccup for the dragon eye, he just wanted someone to listen to his totally tubular singing (he was looping the song and he had a karaoke machine)

I cannot explain the emotion that was expressed and felt when viggo’s British accent shined through and enthusiastically sung “I’m Mr bad guy~~~” it was an out of body experience .

the dream ended by hiccup screeching at the top of his lungs and turned into Freddie mercury himself, stealing the karaoke machine, and proceeded to sing Barcelona (by Freddie himself as well) and then exploded when the song was over, and that’s how I woke up this morning

What role does Dagur play in the wild west 🥺

Dagur the Deranged!!! +some headcannons;

-for those who dont know, a bronco buster is someone who breaks horses. the practice is quite cruel, often they physically exhaust the horse by keeping it moving, and refuse it food and water until the horse becomes submissive, not because it respects you but because it has no fight left

- when he was young, Dagur’s job was a bronc rider, so bro just jumps into the saddle of a wild horse and tries not to get bucked off, the aim is to hold on as long as possible

- he’s damn good at it too; is how he got his title, Dagur could hold on even if his nose started bleeding and his legs went raw from having the skin scraped off. He got considerable scars from it, as he rarely taps out, if ever. Honestly he probably liked the pain/thrill of almost dying a lotttt of the time

- and he was probably laughing like a maniac throughout the process 😅 hence the title “Deranged”

- during his redemption arc Hiccup would help him train Shattermaster, an unassuming pony 🐴

- even after his redemption there are still moments where he has to wrangle with horses/other animals and you can still see that crazy in his eyes light up

-ofc Dagur would learn to love Shattermaster and have a deep regret of his past

- do NOTTTT give this guy a gun, even after he’s redeemed

- his plan after finding Heather is to go back to his town, Berserk

The whump scenario I'm currently thinking of? Hiccup escaping from a terrible situation after being captured some time ago together with Toothless and just returning to his friends all injured and tired. And as his friends are trying to treat his injuries and noticing new scars and apologizing for not finding him sooner, Hiccup is just so... casual about it.

"No, it's okay, really, you guys don't have to apologize."

"No, it's fine, I'm fine."

"No, really, I'm just glad to be home."

And the casualness/mutedness of his tired and injured self just hurts the Riders even more.
