Hear me out! Tav brought a statue of Astarion to the camp but Astarion does not recognize himself in it and does not understand why their leader spent 5000 gold on a random stone man. Meanwhile the party is betting on how long it will take Astarion to guess whose statue it is.
5000 Gold
"He's not... he's not gonna figure it out anytime soon, is he?"
"Sshhh!"
Shadowheart shushed Karlach with an angry frown and a single finger thrown to her lips.
The two of them - along with your other companions observed the scene unfolding on the other side of the camp. Right where a delivery had just been made - and quite an uncommon one.
A giant stone statue, depicting... Astarion - and almost fully nude at that.
You couldn't resist when the offer had been made to you at the carnival at the outskirts of Baldurā€™s Gate. 5000 gold had felt like nothing for the punchline you had been about to make with having a statue be made of the one companion that couldn't remember what he himself looked like.
And Astarion, upon discovering Tav's most recent purchase, had started to throw a temper tantrum immediately, almost fainting when he had heard the paid sum out of your mouth.
The vampire had worked himself into an outright frenzy, screaming, hissing, gesticulating towards the statue, then back to you, then to the skies. Meanwhile all you could do anymore was biting your lip to stop yourself from bursting into the biggest laughing fit of your life.
The rest of the group kept observing from a safe distance.
"Istik", Lae'zel mumbled under her breath. But even the sober githyanki could barely hide a smile.
Shadowheart shushed her as well. Wyll had just been silently shaking his head for the last couple of minutes. Shadowheart had started taking bets on how long it would take the oblivious vampire to realise the cruel trick that was being played on him. Karlach, being way too optimistic, had already lost some coin to the cleric with their estimate of a few minutes.
Only Gale who had been busy this far with some of his thousand books had missed the whole spectacle so far. Just now had the wizard realised that something was going down. He eyed the fighting trio of you Astarion and stone Astarion and then the group of bystanders, trying to decipher the situation. When he couldn't make any logical sense of any of it he went over to the small onlooking group. "I appear to have missed something? What is-"
Shadowheart hissed at him to shut up, causing Gale to flinch back with a hurt facial expression. Wyll though wasn't impressed by the cleric and enlightened his friend: "It looks like our clever leader Tav has taken up the offer of getting a stone statue of Astarion for a bargain of 5000 gold without telling anyone. And now we're betting how long it's going to take him to realise it's him."
Shadowheart stared the Blade of Frontiers down. Wyll merely shrugged his shoulders. He'd faced more fearsome creatures than the cleric aplenty.
Gale just blinked several times at him, letting the words settle. Then a grin spread on the wizard's face. "I bet 100 gold it's gonna take him at least until the end of the day."
Shadowheart's furious expression lightened noticeably and she stretched out her hand to Gale. They shook on the bet. Then everyone turned back to the two Astarion's and you to continue watching the scene.
"Why in the nine hells would you get a statue of some random guy - he isn't that... Well, he is quite handsome!" Astarion yelled at you while you had to hide your face in your hands desperately trying to pull yourself together.
The vampire didn't let up: "Well, if only it had been me, then I would have understood, darling, who wouldn't want that as a piece of decor, but-"
That was it, you broke. Hysterical laughter started shaking you, up to the point where you doubled over and could barely breathe between laughing and crying from laughing.
The vampire meanwhile went through the whole spectrum of emotions known under the sun in a matter of seconds. Angered, confused, flustered. And then finally something in the elfā€™s brain clicked together.
He stared at the statue then at you, back to the statue and suddenly his hands wandered over his own face as if to grasp it's lines and shapes.
"You...," he started and stopped. Through your tears you were sure you could see the vampire's pointy ears turn bright pink. "That IS me!"
You were barely able to nod as another fit of laughter shook you. Astarionā€™s mouth opened several times but no sound came out. A rare occasion to the see the sassy rogue so void of words.
Meanwhile, a bunch of moans could be heard from the other side of camp where Shadowheart collected her won gold from the others.)
"Why would you-", Astarion began and his expression was barely readable while your laughter slowly died down and you were able to kneel back on your feet.
"Didn't you say it yourself? He's quite handsome, isn't he? Now you get to see for yourself again."
Astarion pointed an angry finger at you about to throw another fit but then his eyes fell on the statue again. Now with knowing what it was and what it meant it shut him up immediately.
He took a few steps closer to get a better look. His anger at you momentarily forgotten as he gazed upon his own image for the first time in over 200 years.

I genuinely have a strong hatred for people who romance Shane then divorce him due to his room. Hi, welcome to my Ted Talk.
It's also not just his room, but also people who say "I thought he got help!" or "It's clashing with my style!" or "I thought I could fix him!" and what not. Like yes, I know this is a video game character, but honestly peoples' reactions to Shane speaks about them as a person.
We don't get him help, he gets it himself. Harvey suggests it, and Shane decides he is. We just help him along the way. We don't "fix him", he fixes himself and we are there to be by his side. And even though he does go see a counselor, that isn't going to fix everything. Honestly those type of people don't know how addictions work make mad. I can't say I know 100%, but I do understand you aren't going to get fixed right away.
I saw this tiktok of someone assuming they were being cheated on by Shane, without seeing the full cut scene. It just shows the absolute mistrust people have in him. And yes, I know he's fictional, but still it speaks about people's true colors.
Stepping away from the alcoholic part, let's talk about the depression part. IT. IS. NOT. EASY. TO. BECOME. UNDEPRESSED! Shane literally tried/wants to kill himself, he isn't going to get out of that mental state easily! I myself struggle with some mild depression. And it isn't easy to just "be happy." OF COURSE his room isn't going to be absolutely 100% perfect! Depression is a serious thing, especially for Shane.
Don't get me started on people with the "His room doesn't match my vibe" mentality. Everyone has an unique room that fits to them. Everyone is complicated (maybe, I don't know much about some of the candidates). Shane is a very complicated person, and his room speaks to that. Sorry that his depression and struggles don't match your cutesy cabin in the woods aesthetic. (That's somewhat sarcastic).
One of my biggest problems is this: You went through ALL his heart events. You know what he's struggled with, and still is struggling with. You stayed with him till marriage. And you divorce him for his ROOM?! I may be overreacting, but people with these mentalites make me mad. If this is how they react to a fictional character with alcoholism and depression, how are they gonna react to someone they might like irl that has these problems?
Anyways I'm a Shane defender for life, fight me.

The live action writers hate Aang
I have given myself a lot of time to think about the live action, and reached the conclusion that the writers hate Aang. I dare you to read read this and tell me I'm wrong.
Let me start this by asking you a question? What's the most badass scene Aang has in the first season of the OG show? No matter what you answer is, I know for sure, that scene doesn't exist in the live action. Aang does absolutely nothing to prove the audience he is the right person to be the Avatar, he learns absolutely nothing throughout the show, he doesn't need to look into himself and change his way of thinking. Nothing. Most of the fundamental lessons Aang learns throughout the first season are gone.
The first mistake Aang does in the OG is staying at Kyoshi island too long, letting the attention go to his head, getting too comfortable. He realises he brought destruction to the island and tries to fix his mistakes by jumping onto the Unagi to help the village. That's how he learned the responsibly he holds as the Avatar and finds a unique way to help the village. Well that doesn't exist in the LA. Instead, Kyoshi takes over Aang's body to fight the whole fire nation for him. Aang, himself, does literally nothing.
The spirit world. In the OG show Aang is forced to face his Avatar duty for the first time by trying to save the village that's beeing attacked by Hei Bai. This is his first test as the Avatar and he fails. Not only that, he loses his friend. So Aang has to figure out himself how to get Sokka back from Hei Bai. He figures out who her bai is, himself, understands why Hei Bai is angry and gives him hope, the way Katara gave him hope. So we see that even though Aang failed at first, he kept trying and was smart and compassionate enough to realise what the problem is and solve it. This does not exist in the LA. Aang sees Hei bai in the spirit world, within a second realises who he is and just gives him the Acorn, without having to face him at all!
Another reason I'm convinced the writers hate Aang is the way all the avatars + Bumi treat Aang. Everyone is mad at him for disappearing for 100 years. And look, I get that, you can be mad at him if he ran away from his duties...but he never did! He went to clear his head on Appa and got caught in the storm. And if he hadn't run away he'd be dead, so why are you all so mad at him?! Bumi being mad at Aang could make sense, because in the OG show Aang did spend a significant amount on time of goofing around before he finds out about the comet. But here, it makes no sense! Bumi is mad for no reason. As soon as Aang got out go the ice he took his duty seriously, so please, make it make sense! And the show just glosses over the fact that if Aang hadn't run away he would be dead with the rest of the air benders. Instead of letting Aang feel guilty himself, which he does in the OG show, they just get these characters to hate on him, because they're incapable of making their characters have any emotional depth.
Aang doesn't learn water bending. At all. And there is no logical reason for that. I guess they thought it wasn't that important but please explain to me how you want to make Aang more serious and focused on the Avatar duties but not make him learn water bending? The literal next step Aang has to take to becoming the Avatar?? That is the only clear goal Aang has from the second episode of the show - to find a master and learn waterbending! Make it make sense!
Taking away Aang's talk with Koh. So I assume if most people didn't answer my question above with the Koi fish, they probably said Aang's journey into the spirit world and his meeting with Koh. In the OG show, Aang has to find a way to figure out how to save the water tribe. He does so by going into the spirit world and talking to Koh the face stealer. So Aang had to talk to Koh showing zero emotions so he doesn't have his face stolen. That scene is so creepy and so badass and shows that Aang is really capable, even though he is a kid, he is facing the creepy ass spirit and is doing an excellent job. So when Aang finds out who the moon and the ocean spirits are, it feels deserved, it feels like an accomplishment. In the live action he doesn't have to show zero emotions because Koh is not stealing faces, he's just stealing random people for whatever reason. Koh tells him exactly what to do, bring me a MacGuffin so I can release your friends, Aang just goes to see Roku, no problem, no obstacles to overcome, brings the Macguffin to Koh and he just releases his friends. Wow, really shows us how resourceful Aang is by making him...get an object and give it back to Koh...
And the very last point that I absolutely hated in the show. When Aang goes into the Avatar state and becomes the giant koi fish and wipes everyone out, the live action show goes out of its way to emphasise that that is not Aang in there. Aang is gone. The Koi fish is just rage. and that's that. Taking away ANY agency Aang ever had. Look, I know in the OG show Aang is not in control of the Avatar state either, but we know that's still Aang in there, that's his power he's showcasing. He might not be in control but that's him doing it all, being all powerful. But in the live action, they tell us Aang is gone, that's just his body the spirit is using. Plus Aang does no watebending himself, no gestures like the original where you can see aang in the sphere water bending, controlling the giant Koi fish, showing us how far he's come as a water bender. But in the LA he's just in the sphere...doing nothing because he never learned water bending so of course that's not him doing all this cool shit.
I am so angry over all of this. This is you MAIN PROTAGONIST. and you made him nothing but a vessel to progress the plot. You gave him no character, no growth, no struggles, no power! So no, you cannot convince me, at this point, that the writers of the live action don't hate Aang. Probably as much as they hate Katara.

Love how Lucifer just manhandles Adam during their 'fight' despite everyone else getting their asses kicked. Plus him effortlessly destroying him when Charlie's in danger is really sweet.
gawd me too anon me too
that was everything me to me. like everything. It was built up so well too
Tumblr media
we spent the whole season building up alastor as this massive powerhouse, eldritch, nobody messes with him. Only one who tried picking a fight with him (Vox) got utterly humiliated and everyone else was clearly outclassed. Except for Lucifer where Alastor merely just went with annoying instead of power challenging. Like we got vibes okay yeah makes sense that the King of Hell isn't intimidated by anyone, even if it's alastor, but Alastor got TWO wtf moments in Dad Beat Dad one with Husk and one with defending the hotel
other than that, it was pretty much, nobody messes with him cuz he will mess you up
Tumblr media
and he fights Adam evenly sorta for a bit before Adam pulls out the "I'm an angel which is stronger than any demon" card and alastor gets his ass handed to him.
Tumblr media
Like what a way to set up how strong ADAM is, having him beat Alastor. And then no one else in the hotel is as strong as Alastor was, so everyone's struggling. Charlie at least gets one good hit in but her inexperience kicks her in the ass and then Lucifer just shows up and
Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
like hot DAMN that was just one hit! He broke Adam's mask, the force was enough to send him FLYING across the roof top, and bounce so hard against the billboard he BROKE THE SKYLIGHT
That was just a "HANDS OFF MY BABY" warning too, like LOOK at that face, that's not a "fight me" face it's a "if you touch my baby again, I will screw you so bad your bones will need therapy and you never recover"
Tumblr media
Lucifer not even .2 seconds later, just upon seeing Charlie
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and then yeah, Lucifer was NOT taking the fight with Adam serious at all, like the dude was taunting him, mocking him, dodging all of his attacks, just shapeshifting like Adam was a joke LIKE LOOK AT THIS
Tumblr media
Lucifer isn't even scared, he's just "oh there's a wall there"
Tumblr media
His FACE IM DYING he's legit like "wowwww you just tried shoving me into a wall? really? didn't have any other ideas? Soooooo original of you. I will mock you now"
Tumblr media
HIS HANDS ARE BEHIND HIS BACK HE FOR REAL SAID HE COULD TAKE ADAM WITH BOTH HANDS BEHIND HIS BACK
rewatching rn for the screenshots, he's legit just shapeshifting for the fun of it. 70% of the time nothing has happened, he's just dodging adam and shapeshifting while doing it, like he doesn't need to be doing that this is 100% mockery.
Tumblr media
And then the iconic
Tumblr media Tumblr media
like omgggg this is soooo satisfying and amazing to watch. Like the set up of Adam being powerful was great, and then we just get this absolute trolling from Lucifer cuz he really doesn't care about Adam
And listen the trolling is great and all, but when Adam makes the mistake of not heeding Lucifer's warning of messing with his baby, and then does it a second time
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
RIP Adam just getting one shot-ed like that but hnnnnnggggg we got to see Lucifer fully pissed and it was GREAT
Tumblr media
And somehow my favorite part wasn't even watching Lucifer go absolute ham on Adam, it was that even at his absolute most rage fueled moment, snarling like a beast where he was going to and fully intended on making good on his threat about messing with his baby
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
just one shoulder touch from Charlie and he's immediately chill. Like it's instantaneous, like how much do you love someone to be able to be absolutely livid, about to incinerate someone levels of rage only to immediately be "o oki! No more violence!" the second that person touches you???
Ugh I love them so much! Like everything about that fight, but especially how Lucifer can just go from absolutely the most dangerous person in one second and then OWO SOFT the next just by looking at Charlie
oops this post got long... IMSORRYYYYY other than "More than Anything" and the phonecall with charlie this is one of the scenes I replay the most, I love them so much
Characters going absolutely feral over loved ones is just aasdfadffalklkmafdjalsg šŸ‘ŒšŸ‘€šŸ‘ŒšŸ‘€šŸ‘ŒšŸ‘€šŸ‘ŒšŸ‘€šŸ‘ŒšŸ‘€ good shit goą±¦Ō sHitšŸ‘Œ thats āœ” some goodšŸ‘ŒšŸ‘Œshit rightšŸ‘ŒšŸ‘ŒtherešŸ‘ŒšŸ‘ŒšŸ‘Œ rightāœ”there āœ”āœ”if i do Ę½aŅÆ so my self šŸ’Æ i say so šŸ’Æ thats what im talking about right there right there Ź³į¶¦įµŹ°įµ— įµ—Ź°įµ‰Ź³įµ‰ mMMMMįŽ·ŠœšŸ’Æ šŸ‘ŒšŸ‘Œ šŸ‘ŒŠO0Šžą¬ OOOOOŠžą¬ ą¬ Ooooįµ’įµ’įµ’įµ’įµ’įµ’įµ’įµ’įµ’šŸ‘Œ šŸ‘ŒšŸ‘Œ šŸ‘Œ šŸ’Æ šŸ‘Œ šŸ‘€ šŸ‘€ šŸ‘€ šŸ‘ŒšŸ‘ŒGood shit

ok so bear with me here, this theory is based on nothing but vibes and dreams and delusions.
buddie is going canon in 8x12 which is also episode 118 of 911.
i still find it so interesting that they decided to make bi buck canon (i will never ever ever ever get over bi buck canon, btw) in episode 100 of the show. i know that nowadays episodes 100 of shows are not as big as they used to be (mainly because shows rarely make it to them) but they still mean something big. something big enough to warrant press and cakes and such. and what did 911 do with their 100th episode? they made it about bi buck. in a way that forever links the essence of 911 and bi buck forever. and i find that so incredibly beautiful.
it would be logical to argue that episode 8x12, which is episode number 118 of the show that revolves around station 118, has the potential to be something different and special too. i think that the best way to honor this would be by making it a mostly lighthearted team-focused episode. give me bottle episode at the station where the team receives 0 calls all shift, give me an episode from the 3rd person pov of the people that they help on calls and how they view the 118, give me a the 118 gets locked in a room silly episode, just give me something fun and heartfelt that shows the 118 as the family that they are!!! and then.... and then....
give me the first real confirmation of buddie going canon at the end of the episode. and i mean the very last scene of it.
they already connected a big episode (7x04 aka episode 100) with a very big moment that many many fans had been waiting for (bi buck). why not connect the other very core episode of the show (their 118 episode which is nothing really and yet so special of them) with the other big anticipated thing that fans have been dying for for years.
and like y'all, bi buck is important in and of itself and i hope we all know that. but bi buck is so intrinsically connected to buddie too. and i mean both in fandom and in the canon as well. like we know what subset of fandom has been reading buck as bisexual for seasons now and it's not most of the casual viewers (though i hope some did). it was the buddie fandom. and in 7x04 the way that buck's realization arc was so incredibly connected with eddie and their friendship is astounding. like i still can't believe that it went that way. and that is a deliberate choice. there were a thousand ways in which they could have done it and then said "we are putting eddie diaz, evan buckley's best friend and the guy that everyone who wants bi buck ships him with, in the center of it." so it would be very on brand for producers and writers to give us the actual buddie of it all in episode 118 which could be an episode to touch the core of the show -found family, the firefighting aspect, the hope- which at this point includes buddie as well.
now we know NOTHING about s8 right now so this is where more vibes just get added but it would also make sense that it happens in 8x12 because that it the second half of the season. i feel like s8 is gonna start a little "dark" (and i just mean sad) for the 118. gerard is gonna be ruining their lives and making everything wrong. and eddie is gonna be doing badly, y'all. of course he is. so we can use the first 8 episodes to "solve" these things. eddie can finally be in therapy again for more than his ptsd. the 118 can be fighting to get bobby buck. the bucktommy relationship can be worked towards a break up that moves buck to the next stage of where he's going. and then s8b starts. and we have a "lighter" feeling. hopefully chris is back. bobby is back. buck and eddie are single and we can see that there is something there but for now it has been things that still maybe not everyone can catch on to. so then 8x12 happens and BOOM. buck and/or eddie realize/aknowledge/voice the truth of it all: it's always been about buddie. and then we have 6 more episodes in the season to explore that!!! which is a pretty fair number, i think.
so yeah, that is my-based-on-nothing-but-i'm-now-convinced-is-happening theory for a buddie canon confirmation in 8x12 aka episode 118 of 911.

incomplete list of weird/interesting manga-anime discrepancies
-you know the bit where they break into the girls highschool in episode 2? yea thats chapter 56. spliced into the middle of chapter 4. its supposed to go before the bit with the ghost family as a lead up to the mogami arc with mob starting to consider evil spirits as just as much ā€œpeopleā€ as living humans are. all things considered its kind of weird how well it fits its anime placement
-ritsu in the manga gets introduced in the same chapter as teru. you dont see mobs family at all for the first few chapters. infact i dont think his parents appear until like. chapter 25????? every interaction you see between mob and any of his family is completely made up for the anime
-in the manga during the claw arc instead of reigen sending them away all the lackeys just stood there awkwardly during the fight w the scars fdnjksndkjgnd
-mogami arc got GUTTED my god. the part where the fake psychics tried to murder minori got removed, shinras role in the arc got reduced to basically nothing, they move mogamiland ritsu to a bridge like 50 feet away instead of having him walk right over mob, mob only gets beat up like twice, the cat lives, the boxcutter bit is totally removed, the fight with the spirits is made a lot more abstract and less graphic. like im glad this one took the hit instead of the separation arc bc i cant imagine that arc ever being effective as one episode but wow.
-putting the ā€œmob finding his family deadā€ thing at the end of the episode instead of in the middle of a chapter where it originally was was an objectively hilarious move
-rip the scene of teru outsmarting all three claw guys and saying ā€œsay old man have you ever been tortured beforeā€ unfortunately all scenes of teru being competent are not plot relevant and must die. also teru can make shadow clones
-hey remember those weird satellite people in claw keeping the viewer updated on where all the characters were in that infinite arc?
-mob with a gun.
Tumblr media
-mob getting briefly knocked out while fighting toichiro and dimple possessing him then getting kicked out was replaced w toichiro just throwing him out the window or somethhing???
-toichiro saying that he only kept the super five around as spare batteries and draining serizawas power getting cut was a personal affront to me
-every single emotion mob cycled through in the anime got a 100% meter. the kid was super emotionally unstable in that fight
-that old man whos house they went to whos wraith made everyone asleep that they exorcised? yea they anime team made that up. they never went to his house in the manga, he just went to spirits and such for a shoulder massage
-manga reigen got 0 money for helping the yokai dude. it wasnt on the table. also most of the stuff he was saying was lifted from a video game serizawa played which he pointed out. also serizawa thought getting arrested was a type of spell
-takenakas general meanness was significantly toned down manga takenaka was a huge bitch
-in general the alien arc was a lot funnier in the manga? like the scene where reigen crashes they had reached a dead end on an extremely narrow path and were driving in reverse while tome and takenaka were screaming at each other in the back and inukawa was 5 seconds from snapping and killing everyone in the car. these might be my favorite pages in the entire manga they as so fucking funny
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-originally when tome said she wouldnt keep climbing reigen suggested mob carry her with telekinesis (which horrified her) and mob said he was too motion sick to use his powers (obvious lie) but could carry her instead which got her to get up
-mezato asking mob to sign a t shirt for the psycho helmet cult in exchange for relationship advice got cut
-i cry every day that the sequence of ???% waking up didnt get animated it set a very different tone than the anime did. the anime was like. slow build up of dread. the manga was immediately bone deep horror i was literally sitting in my room yelling ā€œWHAT???ā€ over and over again at my computer as i clicked through it
-shigeo and mob conversation cut down significantly, all the references to the body improvement club being mob making a new self rather than embracing who he really is and being scared that all the friends hes made wouldnt like the real him removed </3
-the scene where reigen takes his shoes off is made a lot less somber and depressing. it feels less like ā€œoh he knows hes going to dieā€ and more like. triumphant? in the anime
-100% shigeo kageyama is an anime addition they added specifically to ruin my ā€œthe first time we see mob 100% is to fight dimple and the last time is to stop himself from fighting dimpleā€ observation
-anime teru generally seems like hes in a better place than manga teru? manga teru seems very melancholy and like he doesnā€™t really know what to do with his life or his place in the world (which seems to put shigeo off) but anime teru is like wanna go shopping ^_^ *sips tea happily*
-manga shigeo deliberately threw the cake directly in reigens face and my fury over them making this ambiguous will last until i am dead

on the note of yj in owaw im also thinking about this bit of tim narration from yj98 #36...
Tumblr media
tim is feeling betrayed and frustrated (understandably), but what stands out to me is how he thinks of "that whole guardian fiasco". in the earlier yj owaw tie-in, he and the others express disapproval of kon for "stealing government property":
Tumblr media Tumblr media
they let it go at the end to move on, but...
Tumblr media
but like, the baby in question is a cadmus clone (just like superboy himself), cloned from a man who expressly wished that he not be cloned and forced back into the fight after his death.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
as an aside, clone baby guardian arc is possibly the BEST in sb94 - it's about bodily autonomy and the humanity and personhood of clones, and the dignity that should be afforded to all people vs the way waller & spence etc want to treat them as property and disposable, reusable weapons.
so i think overall tim and the rest of yj talking about that situation like this... well, those plot threads overall got dropped in the general aftermath of owaw, but it feels like a real missing scene to me. because realistically, given everything kon stands for and everything he went through for baby guardian's sake, to give him the right to choose, i think tim and the others all talking about it like "it's the government so they must be right" would not sit well with kon. (and frankly, would be a pretty solid in-universe reason for kon to further mistrust their orders re: rescuing the suicide squad members, leading up to him disobeying and trying to save steel.)
owaw is arguably the most serious conflict anyone in yj has been involved in up to this point (kon and bart were both present for genesis, but genesis wasn't... Like This, imo. kon was also involved at the destruction of coast city, but this is kind of a tangent.) my point is, up until this point, they are all kinda operating under the assumption that the government is generally on the side of the good guys. this is partly bc of how comics are written, of course, but also makes sense as an in-universe stance for most young heroes to take; tim in particular is definitely a lawful good, and at this point he doesn't understand that his personal rules don't always 100% line up with what the greater authority of The Government dictates.
kon is a contrast to this, because kon does not have the whole "grew up with a family as a part of normal society" backstory like tim and cassie do. kon's involvement with cadmus, a government-funded organization, generally is written such that cadmus are good, except that the closer we get to owaw, the more questionable their intent seems. we see the agenda and their push for eugenics. we see guardian being treated as a tool and not a person. we see waller taking over.
anyways, all of this is kind of to say - i think it's a real shame we don't actually see a big conversation between tim and kon in the aftermath of this. i want to SEE tim get that first real big crack in his worldview that makes him start to think that huh. maybe if lying to small time authority figures for the sake of doing good, like me lying to my dad about being robin, is justified... then maybe directly disobeying the law in the name of doing good is also justified. like, i want kon to look him in the eye and ask "do you think i'm government property, too, then, jackass?" and i want tim to have to really sit back and think on it. i wanna see that character development.
because like - it is a flawed viewpoint, that tim and the rest of yj were written to treat kon trying to free a baby like this. but it's also not an unrealistic one when they're all teenagers who haven't really necessarily had to face moral quandaries of "what's right vs what's lawful" with such high stakes before. i wish this plot had actually gone more places with everyone.

Would you consider the making a fic where the Kusozu Brothers react to Canon or meeting canon?
I'd just like to sincerely apologise for how long this took, I truly am so sorry. I started writing as soon as you sent this, and went through about seven drafts before I realised that I'm really not good enough to write ten characters meeting alternate versions of themselves-- so I hope you'll accept Sukuna's Exploits in Canon and the headcanons beneath the cut!

Choso hates almost everyone in canon.
He hates the coach from episode 1;
"Why is he, as a schoolteacher, blackmailing students, making bets with them and changing what club you signed up for??? CREEP!
Megumi,
"Why does he have to be in this?"
Sorcerers,
"EXECUTED?!"
Gojo,
"IN HIS BASEMENT??????"
Nobara,
"You're not an idiot, Otouto, don't listen to her."
Junpei,
"If he just listened to you (Yuuji) he wouldn't have traumatised you by dying!"
Todo,
Now at first he liked Todo. He knows that's Yuki's younger brother for one, and on top of that the first thing Todo does is try to beat Megumi half to death
"Omg I love that kid."
When Yuuji and Todo fight, things start to slip a bit..
"I like that kid way less now."
And when Todo calls Yuuji brother.......
"I hate that kid now. Who does he think he is? I'm your big brother. Not him. You already have Eso, why do you need another tall, tan, muscular brother??"
Yuuji: Well--
Sukuna: Well nothing, whip me out, I'll show him whose 'buraza' you are.
Choso likes Nanami though.
When his brothers are like "??? Just like that?" he goes:
"I liked it when he said that Yuuji's the child and he's the adult. It seems like, though he;s endeared by Yuuji, he still maintains and appropriate and professional distance with him. And he's protecting you two (Sukuna and Yuuji) while we're off doing whatever it is we're doing.
Which begs the question! What are they doing?
When the death paintings are introduced, Choso is excited! And then the fight happens. Way less excited.
If they were watching JJK as a tv show, this is where Choso stops watching. They can try to make him come back all they like, Choso is NOT standing for it. Even if they get him to watch s2, as soon as he sees Gojo he's leaving.
If they made him see himself... I think he'd break the TV as soon as he struck Yuuji for the first time
And if they showed him his final scene, I think he'd weep in relief. And be excited that Yuki rocked up!
Eso
For the whole of season one, he's waiting for his debut.
"This is so boring when do we show up?"
"Imagine if Yuuji left us back in Sendai."
"If I were there Junpei would've lived. Just saying."
"UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
"Bring me in I'll shut Sukuna up."
BUT! There are some highlights for him. Such as:
Nanami.
Eso, licking his lips: You reckon he's (Nanamin's) ever been outta the country?
Yuuji: Eso-nii you are NOT fucking my train bestie.
Eso: "I'll take you to Malaysia baby."
Megumi!
During the fight with Todo he's cheering him on hard out.
"Yeah get him Megumi!! Finish summoning whatever that is, I've been seeing it! Actually do it this time! 4th time's the charm! Beat his ass!!" (It's his Mahoraga fists)
Other than that, it's been a dull watch for him.
Until they appear!:
Eso: FINALLY!
Kechizu: itā€™s us!!!!!! Niichan why do you look like you havenā€™t slept in 100 years
Sukuna: Wdym, he looks the exact same
Yuuji: I hate to say it, Choso-nii, butā€¦ heā€™s right.
Choso: Theyā€™re not that bad.. (pulls out his phone to check)
Choso:
Choso: Oh.Ā
Eso: Hey wait, why are we asking why Niisan looks like that, when we should be asking..
Kechizu: Shut up
Eso: Why YOU look like THAT
Yuuji: Ooooo I love the body horror
Kechizu: !!? BODY HORROR!Ā
Sukuna: He looks cooler than you do.
Yuuji: I look the same though?
Sukuna: yeah exactly
And when the Yuuji and Nobara vs Eso and Kechizu fight starts:
Eso: Oooooooou weā€™re gonna fight, Yuu-chan! Moneyā€™s on me, this protagā€™s been winning too many fights lately
Kechizu: His friend literally just died. And Todo beat him up.
Eso: Still, in the end everything was fine. Iā€™m sure once Yuuji uses his ā€˜Iā€™m your brotherā€™ cursed technique, weā€™ll stop fighting and everything will be A-OK!
Sukuna: Yuuji should use my power to put you down like the dog you are
Eso: Your reputation couldnā€™t handle how hard Iā€™d whoop your ass
And when it ends:
Eso, mouth open, jaw dropped, flies coming out, pissed: Itā€™s rigged. Itā€™s rigged! I would 100% win a fight against Yuuji, and Iā€™ll prove it right now
Unfortunately for him, by this point Yuuji is too busy being cradled by a wildly sobbing Choso.
He does NOT want to watch the show after he dies. But when he hears Gojo gets sealed and Choso's gonna show up, he makes a concession for those episodes.
Eso: Gayest death scene in the whole show, tops Junpei's by miles.
Yuuji: He's not even dead!!!!
Now he insists he won't watch till Choso's on, but when he sees Nanami's new look... Let's just say he's sat for Dull Knife.
Eso: Yuuji I love you. I love you so much. You're my babiest of brothers. I'll always love you. But for fucks sake you did NOT deserve to be the one to meet Nanami out of all of us!!!
Yuuji: ?! Kechizu did too?!
Eso: And I'm still pissed NEITHER of you introduced him to me. Like?????? Have you seen the man???????????????? When he gets back from Malaysia he'll literally be my ideal type. I hate you two.
Eso: --and so, not only would it be neglect, but it would also be legally wrong of you not to introduce him to me.
Yuuji: NO!
Eso: AND HIS NAME IS:::: ZENIN TOJIIII! (John Cena theme plays from his phone)
Yuuji: You HATED him! You hated him before this!
Eso: And now for the purposes of the show I love him! Uncle-in-law!Ā
Kechizu: Wowā€¦ I really shouldā€™ve remembered Nanami, huh?Ā
Yuuji: ENOUGH!
Sukuna: Brat, even you can admit heā€™s hot. Look how they drew him. Itā€™s softcore porn, beatdown edition.Ā
Eso: Hey do you have his phone number?
Yuuji: NO!
Choso: Good.Ā
Eso: Iā€™ll come with you to and from school next time. I should thank him.
Yuuji: BACK!!! OFF!!!
Kechizu: Yeah! Leave some for the rest of us! Yuuji and Choso: NO!
Kechizu: I thought you liked him, Oniichan!
Choso: Well yes, butā€¦Ā
Sukuna: Donā€™t tell me your type is blondsā€¦
Choso: I only like the one blondeā€¦ā€¦ Maybe a second one now, butā€“
Yuuji: CAN EVERYONE STOP HITTING ON NANAMIN?
And then Choso's episode!!:
Contrary to everyone else in the room, Eso's enjoying himself.
Eso: AND THEN HIT HIM WITH THE RIGHT HOOK! AND THEN SUPERNOVA HIM! AND THEN DIVERGENT FIST TO THE STOMACH! AND THEN SLICE HIM WITH A BLOOD BLADE! AND THEN--
By the middle-end area he quietens down out of respect for the... Mourners.
Choso, crying, canā€™t watch his fight scene: JUST REALISE!!! IT CANā€™T BE THAT HARD!!! I HAVE A BLOOD TECHNIQUE!!!!!!!!
Sukuna: YUUJI! USE ME! WHIP! ME! OUT! YUUJI FOR FUCKS SAKESā€“!Ā
Kechizu: DONā€™T HIT HIM HEā€™S JUST A BABY!!!!!! YOUR BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Eso, visibly disturbed: I think you should all step out for a minute...
As soon as he gets the sense that Nanami's about to die, he leaves.
Eso: I'm not watching that shit! Call me when Niisan gets back.
Kechizu
tries to cover the twins' eyes when there's violence
it doesn't work because, in the beginning, show!Sukuna IS the violence
Very vocally dislikes Gojo, always takes an issue with whatever he has to say or do.
Kechizu: 'ten seconds' what a creep. Sukuna'll teach him a lesson when he gets all his fingers back.
Kechizu: Executed??? What a pushover! If he's so powerful he should just kill the higher ups.
As soon as Kamo Noritoshi's name is said during the sexchange event arc, Kechizu is piping up
Kechizu: DAD???????
He's 100% convinced their father has been deaged and put into the Kyoto school
Cries when Eso dies, but is willing to watch the rest of the show because Yuuji and Sukuna are in it!
(lives to regret that^)
Interestingly enough, though, he enjoys the hidden inventory arc
cheers when Toji sells Megumi and kills Gojo, but when Kusozu Sukuna defends Geto, suddenly he has an issue with mr Fushiguro and 'see, Yuuji, this is why you need to break up with that boy'
when Sukuna starts killing people in Shibuya (indirectly after the first few kills since he's fighting Jogo), Kechizu spends 90% of the episode defending him
Kechizu: they should've just moved if they didn't want to get exterminated! What's stopping them?!
Sukuna: I'm saying!
Yuuji: THE BARRIER!
Chokes on his snacks when he sees the flashback to Kamo Noritoshi, points at the screen wildly and concocts the most batshit insane theory that Choso and Eso (who are no longer watching at this point) believe wholeheartedly
Kechizu: So you see, Dad must have a duplicate technique that requires a brainswap, and he's clearly split his consciousness between Kemo Noritoshi and Geto's body, and so he was the real mole this whole time. Ignore that puppet kid in the bath, he's a decoy.
Choso: I see
Eso: It's all coming together
Yuuji: ?????????????
Sukuna, lying: You're so right. I see it now. Are you sure you didn't write the show yourself, Keke Akusotami?
When Yuki pulls up he's the only brother other than Choso that's happy to see her
Kechizu: OH THANK FUCK! GET THEM YUKI!!!!!!!
Sukuna
Endlessly entertained by himself at first
His favourite line is Show!Sukuna's very first words: "WHERE ARE THE WOMEN? THE CHILDREN?!"
It took him 15 minutes to stop laughing and another 10 to actually process what else was going on in the show
During the prison episode he's still kind of amused when Show!Kuna just straight up kills Yuuji. The only things that irk him are:
Sukuna: I don't like how I'm lookin at Fushiguro right now.
Sukuna: 'show me something special' he doesn't have anything special
Sukuna: Why couldn't I have killed all three of them??
Doesn't like Nanami. He doesn't hate him or anything, he just has no interest in him.
(Secretly, he's been holding a grudge ever since Nanami said he didn't acknowledge Yuuji as a sorcerer)
When Junpei dies, Sukuna feels kind of bad, but only because Kusozu Yuuji is crying so hard
Sukuna: I wouldnā€™t laugh like that if he died. Not in front of you. Probably in private. Maybe at the funeral. If you ran off crying. Or if you didnā€™t then Iā€™d do it silently. This is just overkill, really. Ha, overkill. Get it? Cause he got killedā€¦ Over top of you. But yeah I wouldnā€™t laugh in your face, that's crazy. Like you are now. Cause your friendā€™s deā€“
Eso: Bro..
Kechizu: Sukuna-kun I think you made your point!!
After that he's less eager to see himself.
But he still insists Yuuji "whip him out" every time there's trouble. Like when he's being bullied by the Tokyo school for coming back from the dead; fighting Todo, Hanami, making eye contact with Gojo-- all worthy of the wrath of the king of curses
When the death painting arc starts::
Eso: Oooooooou weā€™re gonna fight, Yuu-chan! Moneyā€™s on me, this protagā€™s been winning too many fights lately
Kechizu: His friend literally just died. And Todo beat him up.
Eso: Still, in the end everything was fine. Iā€™m sure once Yuuji uses his ā€˜Iā€™m your brotherā€™ cursed technique, weā€™ll stop fighting and everything will be A-OK!
Sukuna: Yuuji should use my cursed technique to put you down like the dog you are
Eso: Your reputation couldnā€™t handle how hard Iā€™d whoop your ass
But by the time the arc is ending, Sukuna is getting a liiiiitle, small, tiny, teensy bit sad. Mostly because Kechizu is bawling his eyes out.
Sticks around for the next arc! All the Kusozu brothers leave after the first five minutes, unwilling to watch anymore, leaving only Sukuna and Yuuji. But first::
Choso: Why do we have to see this irrelevantā€™s lifestory? (Gojoā€™s)
Eso: This perv again..
Kechizu: I hope his boyfriend dies.Ā
Sukuna: Thatā€™s dark. Not me. Thatā€™s sensei right there. I hope his girl friend dies.Ā
Yuuji: She doesnā€™t die you idiot sheā€™s literally in season 1
Sukuna: And season 1 comes before season 2, Iā€™m not the idiot here.Ā
Yuuji:
Hidden Inventory becomes Sukuna's favourite arc pretty quickly! It only loses its spot when Megumi appears at the end
Eso: GET HIM TOJI!!! YES!!!!!!!
Yuuji: You guys are just doing it to irritate me at this point, ā€˜cause thereā€™s no way you hate him this much
Kechizu: HE DID IT!!!! HE KILLED HIM!!!!!!
Yuuji: You know he comes back, right??
Sukuna: SHUT UP BUZZKILL WEā€™RE TRYING TO SAVOUR THE MOMENT!
Yuuji: Choso-nii why are you pausingā€¦
Choso: (takes a picture of Gojoā€™s ā€˜deadā€™ body)
Yuuji:
Hates the filler ep, wants to get back to the killing people part, that was his favourite
He's excited for the Shibuya incident, so much so that he almost doesn't notice he hasn't spoken a single word all season
He's hurling abuse at the TV during the choso vs yuuji ep, but then again he's hurling abuse at the TV no matter what episode is playing
He's convinced that if Show!Yuuji just gives him control, everything will be fine!
(He's wrong. He's so deeply wrong.)
Has the time of his life during the Sukuna takeover eps
Actually giggled (half of it was out of shock!) when Nanako and Mimiko got killed (HE WOULD! I'M SORRY BUT HE WOULD!!
Does a victory lap around the room during the Jogo fight
Sukuna: GET HIM! SLICE HIM AGAIN! FUCK THE DOCOMO TOWER! FUCK THOSE CARS! THAT'S WHAT IM TALKIN ABOUT!!!!!! NOW HIT HIM WITH THE-- what the fuck-- WHAT THE FUCK! FUUGA?!?!?! FUUGA!!!!!!!!
Sukuna: Why am I saving Fushiguro again? He's the one who decided to kill himself, how is that my problem??
He only calms down a bit once Show!Yuuji comes back and has a breakdown.
Pretends to be totally unaffected but secretly presses his knee to Yuuji's
Sukuna: all that and I still didn't get Kenjaku? Really?
Yuuji: Who's Kenjaku???
Sukuna, who got bored after his eps and looked up spoilers to pass the time: ...........

I need Lambert/Milena in a Shrek AU.
Just imagine with me:
Duke de Roggeven insults a powerful wizard (we all know he would - he'd be lucky if it was only ONE) who then curses his daughters. All three of them.
(ETA: he pissed off Yennefer. Probably insulted her mixed elven heritage and/or her inability to have kids, so she went "alright. Let's see how you feel when YOUR daughters are inhuman and infertile monsters.")
By night, each of them transforms into a different non-human humanoid: Marta is a succubus (all her lust for power and a crown turned into a different kind of lust - and we'll pretend that succubi *can* live without sex, but they feel sick and hungry the whole time), Marika is an elf (still elegant and pretty, but inhuman enough to shock everyone - Marika didn't piss off Yennefer), and Milena is a witcher (Yennefer saw her strength and kindness and went "this suits you.")
Marta, of course, spends the entire time being FURIOUS at being some "sex obsessed half goat! I am the daughter of a DUKE! The ELDEST DAUGHTER! How dare she!" Marika isn't happy, per se, but she privately goes "it could be a LOT worse. I'll take it." Milena actually enjoys her new abilities - she's so strong! Her senses are much sharper! - and the eyes are rather pretty.
After being COMPLETELY HORRIFIED that his daughters (well, mostly Marta) are cursed to become non-humans by night, Duke de Roggeven locks them in a castle guarded by a dragon and then pretends that he's sent them abroad to stay with distant relatives.
Meanwhile, Marta is getting on EVERYONE'S last nerve with her constant bitching, Marika is trying to keep their lifestyle as pleasant as possible, and Milena...
Milena befriends the dragon. She thinks Villentretenmerth is fascinating, and when she learns that the three ladies who showed up to help the sisters are also dragons, she wants to learn as much as they can teach her.
(Marta refuses to acknowledge any of them. "I will not consort with beasts," she sniffs hautily, and locks herself in a private bedroom every night before sunset.)
So! Back in Redania, Duke de Roggeven has convinced everyone that Yennefer's line about "whoever breaks the curse will gain a treasure greater than gold or gems" means that they can gain literal treasure (and/or magical treasure) by rescuing and marrying his daughters, and not - to take an example COMPLETELY at random - their true love as a bride.
(Yes, true love is the cure. Of course it is.)
So the asshole king of Kaedwen hears about the supposed princess and holds a huge tournament - and Lambert shows up because "that fucker dumped a bunch of refugees in our mountains, the fucking bastard. Who does that?!"
Jaskier, being one of the refugees - and also a bard who can sense the potential for a good story - insists on coming with him. They 100% do the "Donkey won't stop singing until Shrek snaps at him to shut up - and then he hums" scene.
About five times.
(Geralt and Eskel either stayed home to help Vesemir manage the refugees or hang around the Kaedweni court to remind the king of his promise - and make sure he doesn't get any even WORSE ideas.)
(Lambert REFUSED to stay in Kaer Morhen when Vesemir was being bossy - "I get enough of him riding my damn ass during fucking winter, NO GODSDAMNED WAY." And his brothers very sensibly refused to let him stay in court longer than absolutely necessary because, uh, they've MET Lambert and they know exactly how badly it would go. So he gets rescue duty by default. At least the princess will be happy to get to Ard Carraigh and away from him. They send Jaskier with him to try to temper some of his, uh, Lambert-ness.)
Anyway! Lambert and Jaskier arrive at the tumbledown castle guarded by a dragon, and Jaskier is immediately like "oh how wonderful! How majestic! Look at that wingspan!" And Lambert is like "...remember how we're here to fight the bastard? We have to GET PAST HIM to rescue whatever noble bint got stuck out here."
Jaskier pouts.
Villentretenmerth finds all this terribly amusing, especially since he recognizes a witcher when he sees one. So he sticks his nose in their camp and asks (rumbles) "what makes you think that even a witcher can defeat the greatest and oldest of dragonkind?"
So Jaskier introduces them - as dramatically and fancily as possible - and states that they are here to rescue the princess.
Milena creeps out from Villentretenmerth's wing. "We are the daughters of the Duke de Roggeven, and there are three of us. I hope you will still take us home?"
Villentretenmerth sighs. This girl. Always getting underfoot. "I will let you take the ladies with you - but you must convince them to leave freely. If they refuse - now or later - I will take them back."
"He sent THREE girls to some remote fucking castle? Fucker. Yeah, I'll take you all. Jask, let's find 'em and get out of here."
So Milena leads them up to the tallest tower where her sisters spend their day. I can't decide if I want Marta to do the whole "sleeping beauty waiting for a kiss" thing (assuming that JASKIER is her princely rescuer and Lambert is just there as a guard.) If she does, she'll get a rude surprise when Lambert shakes her awake and tells her to pack anything she's taking with her, they're LEAVING.
So the guys get the ladies and lead them out - pretending to ignore the hissing and squabbling that said ladies are doing behind the men's backs - and are unhappily surprised AGAIN because not only are their rescuer(s) NOT a prince and his retinue, they don't even have HORSES.
The dragons, of course, are watching this with amusement...and no little relief at getting rid of Miss Complainer the Eldest.
I'm gonna say it takes less than two days for Marta and Lambert to have a truly nasty fight. She wants a horse. A private carriage, really, but she'll SETTLE for a horse. Purebred, obviously. And fashionable new dresses, and BATHS, and food cooked in an actual KITCHEN, and a private bedroom from sundown to sunrise, and...
Lambert is just like "look lady, I don't get any reward until I deliver you, I don't have the coin for any of that, and I wouldn't waste on stupid fucking luxuries if I did."
This does not go over well. At all. There are very angry words shouted about his lack of preparation, decorum, breeding, proper dress...the list is endless.
Lambert gives exactly zero shits.
Milena is watching the fight with interest - she finds him FASCINATING - and Marika is mostly trying to stay out of it. She agrees with Marta on most of the points - their tower-castle was reasonably comfortable, certainly more so than this long hike back to civilization - but also, freedom.
If only they were returning home instead of to a strange country...
Which is about when Villentretenmerth - as the human Borsch - walks into their camp, accompanied by the three dragon woman who have been tending to the sisters. "Marchionesses. Wolf. Bard. I warned you I would take the ladies back if they wished to leave your company."
"The TOWER is better than staying with this BARBARIAN," Marta sniffs. "And Father arranged for marriages for Marika and I already!"
(She knows she gets the crown prince - and she knows that Kaedwen's king is a murderous asshole. Being queen doesn't count if she's not alive to enjoy it...and she won't have allies there to help her plot regicide. She's ambitious, not stupid.)
Somehow, it works out that Borsch and his friends take Marta and Marika back while Lambert and Jaskier continue to Kaedwen with Milena. There is ABSOLUTELY a scene where Lambert is out hunting when bandits try to attack the supposedly unguarded noblewoman and bard, and Milena thoroughly kicks their ass.
Lambert runs back just in time to be HELLA aroused impressed at Milena. Jaskier is already composing an ode to her.
They arrive at Ard Carraigh. Stuck up knights send for the king, who pretends he's a decent person long enough to carry Milena off on a fancy horse. Half an hour later, just as Lambert is moping about losing his new friend, his brothers arrive and go "quick, where's the lady? We have to get out her out of here!"
A very confusing but short explanation-argument later, Eskel and Geralt are chasing after Lambert as he storms the royal palace BY HIMSELF, because like hell will he leave Milena to that monster!
The confrontation is absolutely the most dramatic thing Ard Carraigh has seen in decades, with the witchers storming in just after Milena is crowned but before she can kiss her new husband...
...whom Lambert immediately punches in the face. "HOW MANY WOMEN HAVE YOU KILLED?!? HOW MANY, ASSHOLE? Did you even bother to COUNT THEM?"
Everyone gasps. Eskel and Geralt keep the guards back with drawn swords.
"NO MORE! I *WILL NOT* let you murder Milena for your sick fucking games!"
The king tries to splutter something, but Lambert takes his head off before he can get it out.
And then the sun sets.
And Milena...changes.
Scars from her training with the dragons, greater muscles than any noblewoman should have, and her eyes...
She shrieks - not at the king's death or the witchers' violence, but at her own secret coming out. She's hidden it for so long, and so carefully...she'll never survive this. The Kaedweni court will turn her out, if they don't execute her with her (very briefly) husband -
And then Lambert takes her hand.
"Milena? Are you...okay? Did they hurt you? What happened?"
"I'm CURSED! My sisters and I are cursed - for years now!"
He looks at her. "Y'look fine to me. It suits you."
"Really?"
"I wouldn't lie to you. Never have, never will. And I think you look - good. Really good. The dress is kinda silly - "
Milena giggles. She thought the same thing, when her maids were lacing and buttoning her into the massive thing.
"But YOU are gorgeous. Always have been."
"You still like me? Even..."
"As mutated and scarred up as I am? I'd have to be a fool not to. You're the bravest, strongest, most amazing woman I've ever met."
And she kisses him. She has to, can't hold it back.
(Cue the curse breaking - and leaving her as a witcher.)
Obviously there's cleanup, but Milena IS the queen, and is suddenly betrothed to the man who killed the murderous previous king - so it works out.
And then Villentretenmerth comes back.

I have now finally seen the Mario movie. It was Pretty Good. Here are my wordy thoughts on it. (I am going to spoil the entire movie. Duh.)
In many ways, the Mario movie does what I wish the first Sonic movie had done. They just took the characters and the premise and the world from the games, and made it a straightforward animated adventure movie. It's bright and colorful and remixes things JUST enough to include fun elements from multiple games, and it doesn't make Mario get adopted by James Marsden or whatever. It even has the music!
That's all you really need, right? Right...?
Tumblr media
I'll get this out of the way up front. Chris Pratt was fine. He's fine
If anything, it really feels like they did the movie a disservice by letting us hear so little of the Mario voice in the previews. It took one scene for Pratt to disappear into the role for me. It was totally fine. If anything, I found Charlie Day's normal voice coming out of Luigi WAY more distracting, even if I did like him in the role.
Everyone else was pretty good, for the most part. Jack Black was obviously very good as Bowser, but I'm biased. Seth Rogen does the Seth Rogen laughs as Donkey Kong, but I thought DK was fun, too. (I liked his little rivalry with Mario where he was just constantly giving him shit.) The only casting choice I truly hated was Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong. I hated every line that came out of his mouth. He sounds atrocious. Just the worst. I swear to fucking god if they do a DKC movie and we have to hear him for 90 minutes
I did think Peach was lacking, but that was on the script, not Anya Taylor-Joy's performance. It's cool to see Peach fight, but it's one of those all too common instances where the writers put so much effort into making the main girl kick ass and be an effortlessly confident girlboss that they forgot to give her an actual personality. Not that I'd point to Super Princess Peach and its mood swing superpowers as positive representation or anything, but there's a happy middle ground, surely. Shrek was 22 years ago, just having the princess do flying kung fu kicks isn't enough.
Okay. With the voices out of the way, let's talk about the big picture:
It's way better than the words "Illumination Mario movie" implied, and I mostly enjoyed my time with it. The spirit of Mario is there 100%. But I'd also describe it as "ruthlessly efficient."
This was perhaps the main complaint critics had, and they were absolutely right. People have responded to these totally average reviews with "Well, what did you expect? Shakespeare?! It's MARIO!!" Like, yes, I would prefer it if the movie I paid to see had writing that was good instead of bad. What a shocker. My issue isn't that it's not "high-brow" enough. The problem is that it feels mercenary. It feels like an editor went through and deleted almost every line of dialogue that isn't some form of exposition, at the expense of the pacing. Any scene that's not a montage or some sort of action is kept as short as they could make it, with barely any room for embellishment, character interaction, or anything other than the bare minimum word count to hit all the typical Save the Cat Hollywood screenwriting 101 story beats to the letter. There aren't even as many jokes as you might think (and the ones that are there are extremely hit or miss, including a lot of the slapstick with Mario himself).
Tumblr media
Mario and Peach's little arc together in the front half of the film is probably the worst example of this pacing. Even having read reviews that complained about how fast Peach goes from meeting Mario (by her admission the first other human she's ever met) to deciding to train him as the new savior of the Mushroom Kingdom, I was SHOCKED at how fast it was. They don't even lampshade it.
Peach takes Mario straight into the big training sequence where he learns how to use mushrooms and jump over platforming obstacles. Peach is apparently already a hypercompetent platforming pro and a great fighter, so there's no clear reason why she's taking the time to train this random guy to be half as good as her when the world is in danger. Then they set off on their adventure, Toad joins them, and we get a VERY brief travel montage. It's about thirty seconds total - just long enough to give Peach a line about how she wants to protect this beautiful world of hers to try and give her some stakes. We get the genre-mandated nighttime campfire heart to heart, which is exactly long enough to have Mario say he misses Luigi and to have Peach give the two sentence summary of her origin story and not a second longer. Then they reach the Kongs, and their big journey is complete. (They barely interact for the rest of the movie.) So much of the movie is like this - always ready to get on to the next scene as soon as a new one starts.
I'm not criticizing the script because I expect The Super Mario Bros. Movie to be a prestige drama - although there are certainly halfhearted attempts at a dramatic arc. The stuff with Mario's family was a fun enough idea, but again, ruthless efficiency. We get one quick scene with them at the start to give Mario some pathos, because I guess Save the Cat said he's gotta have some pathos. And then Mario gets his dad's approval amidst the action of the final battle in Brooklyn to resolve his arc, just so the movie can end as quickly as possible once Bowser is defeated. (Despite now having the approval of their family and their community back in Brooklyn, Mario and Luigi move to the Mushroom Kingdom off-screen without a single word dedicated to this decision, because that's where they live in the games.)
Look. I am not comparing it to The Godfather. Don't give me that shit. I am not asking for an extra half hour to explore Mario and Luigi's childhood trauma. I am not asking for the complex inner workings of the Mushroom Kingdom monarchy. I know this is gonna be a basic Hero's Journey adventure for kids. It just feels like it's turning down so many opportunities to have a little fun with the characters, to let them interact and play off of each other, to let there be some adventure on this adventure. This is the first time we've gotten to see these characters interact with fully voiced dialogue in a very, very long time! "Yeah, it's not High Art, but it's FUN!" Stories are fun! Character interactions are fun! The script could be having so much more fun!! It is adamantly against making the Story parts of this story-driven movie any more Fun than they functionally need to be!!!
Mario, Peach, and Toad's journey to find the Kongs is shorter than the training montage that precedes it. After the opening, Bowser mostly just sits in his castle and waits for the third act to start. Luigi's there, too, but he only gets one scene with Bowser and then the movie mostly forgets he exists until the climax. He doesn't even get to try and sneak out of Bowser's castle and get up to hijinx. He's just there to be a motivation for Mario, so he sits in a cage for half the movie. It's the bare outline of a script with action scenes added in.
Tumblr media
Aside from the fact that it's Jack Black singing as Bowser, I feel like this overly-efficient script might be part of the reason why the "Peaches" scene stands out so much. It's a moment that didn't strictly need to be there to keep the plot moving or to provide an action setpiece. It's not even a reference to another Mario thing. It's just a fun and memorable little character moment that's there for its own sake. That's what the movie needed more of. To stop and smell the roses more often. To play in the space.
To be clear, this isn't a unique problem with this movie. Critics have been noting for years that second acts are disappearing from big Hollywood movies in favor of the Act I plot setup and the Act III action, even though Act II is supposed to be where you get to explore your actual premise. And lots of animated movies give me this exact same vibe of being too "screenwriterly," or feeling like they had an executive breathing down their necks and demanding changes based on focus testing. But these common issues are why I come away mostly feeling like the movie is on the better end of "average," rather than totally blowing my mind. You have seen this movie many times before, just not with Mario in it.
And, of course, there's the music. The score by Brian Tyler based on various classic Mario and Donkey Kong tunes (frustratingly all attributed to Koji Kondo) is absolutely beautiful, but it's unfortunately frequently overshadowed by the licensed music. Everyone already complained about things like the use of Take On Me in place of a lovingly arranged DKC medley, but it feels illustrative of the tug of war the movie is caught in the middle of, between wanting to be a lavishly faithful Mario movie and wanting to be a generic tentpole animated adventure movie. Every single licensed song used is the most obvious, overused song they could have picked for the scene. It reeks of cynical executive meddling and it took me out of the movie every time.
Tumblr media
But there really was a lot of care and love put into this movie - more than probably any other video game movie ever made, not that that's a high bar. I don't want to underplay that too much amidst all my complaints spurred by the absolutely insane response to the reviews.
Aside from the countless background references that people will be picking apart for years, touches like the Captain Toad tune playing in the background of Toad's introduction or the Mario Kart 8 menu music playing in the kart garage really help bring it to another level of authenticity. I also enjoyed seeing some more obscure Mario enemies that felt like they were picked more for being fun to animate than for being nostalgic and marketable. No matter how many times I sarcastically pointed to the screen and deadpanned "reference. reference." I am not immune to noticing these things and smiling. I am not immune to the DK Rap. These alone don't make the movie good, but it's nice to have a video game movie that feels like it was made by people who like video games.
Most importantly, the animation is great throughout. It's leaps and bounds ahead of other Illumination work, and it's the best the Mario cast has ever looked. They even made Donkey Kong handsome, somehow. They're all so squishy and expressive, and they move so fluidly - especially in the action scenes. I particularly liked the more kinetic ones like the aerial Banzai Bill chase and the Mario Kart sequence. Truly, the Mad Max-inspired car battle on Rainbow Road where Mario literally does the speedrun shortcut is this movie firing on all cylinders.
Other, more hand-to-hand fights nail the Popeye-esque vibe Mario should be going for. He's an underdog who gets the shit kicked out of him by bigger, stronger opponents until he gets his signature powerup and turns the tables on them. My favorite animation of all probably came from the use of Cat Mario to turn the tide in the DK fight. They had so much fun making Mario move like a cat. Again, it feels like a choice made because it'd be fun to animate rather than just a nostalgia move.
It's that animation and that attention to detail that carry the film, really. They elevate it from mediocrity into being a fun watch for a fan like me, albeit one I couldn't help but pick apart with Anthony as we watched it at home. I'm glad I saw it, but there's a lot of room to improve with the inevitable sequel. I hope they do. I can't deny that I had fun with the movie, but I hope next time that fun is partially because of the script instead of in spite of it.
Stray thoughts:
Overall, I would say I enjoyed the movie a lot more than Sonic 1, but probably not as much as Sonic 2. Not that these movies need to be pitted against each other.
I hated the Luma. I hated how hilarious they clearly thought the Luma was. They have the fucking Luma break the fourth wall to end the movie and start the credits. This is going to be a deep cut for fans of bad animated films, but the whole time I was just thinking of the little fish from Romeo & Juliet: Sealed With A Kiss who's just the director's kid saying random nonsense. You know I'm right
I rolled my eyes at the "our princess is in another castle" joke and several other jokes that would have been dated in a gamer webcomic 20 years ago but I guess they had to be there
How much of Brooklyn did Bowser's giant floating castle take out? We know 9/11 happened in this universe because the Freedom Tower is there, hasn't New York been through enough
I can't believe there's a Diskun easter egg
The dog is the most Illumination character design in the movie. It felt like it wandered on set from The Secret Life of Pets
Mario being a gamer and playing Kid Icarus of all things just made me remember this tweet:

Yes Anthony did get mad at me for being thirsty for Bowser

**Anything mentioned in this post related to season 2 is strictly my own speculation unless it was in the official trailers and teasers. I know there were some leaks. Iā€™ve heard some but I wonā€™t be repeating any of of the things I personally heard about.**
Since weā€™re 6 days away from Arcaneā€™s return, I think everyone needs to be aware of some things. There are going to be a ton of Cait haters for whatever reason. Both Vi and Cait are going to be painted as the ā€œbad guyā€. Itā€™s already happening. And itā€™s really not fair to either of them.
This is not meant to be an anti-Jinx post, but just something to think about.
Cait is, as far as we know, the only one of those three not directly responsible for someoneā€™s death. She could have killed Sevika but didnā€™t. We know sheā€™s an excellent shot. Cait spared her, even if she was moments from killing Vi. She shows compassion constantly, and to a fault at times.
Vi has both killed and severely hurt plenty of people. When she went to save Vander, fighting with Jayce (who also killed people), and knocking that big ass sign down on Silcoā€™s shimmer goons just to name a few instances.
Jinx, as we should all know, has killed a lot of people. Two were her friends that were practically family, an accident. Then several Enforcers during Progress Day. More Enforcers at the bridge scene when Marcus is killed. Yeah, yeah, ACAB and all that. But that doesnā€™t mean she should be free of the murders. Neither should Vi. But what about Jinxā€™s mental state? That is a factor, yes. But not a complete excuse seeing as she shows little to no remorse, even seeming to enjoy it.
Again, not anti-Jinx post. I like her character but sheā€™s not my favorite. Sheā€™s complex. Sheā€™s interesting. Sheā€™s chaotic. I love it. Unfortunately, Iā€™ve been seeing A LOT of Jinx followers that are just brushing it off and painting her as some ā€œheroā€ figure. Not all are like that, of course, but Iā€™ve seen a lot personally and itā€™s justā€¦ frustrating that theyā€™re almost ignoring what Jinx has done. Again, this is not every Jinx fan. I know some of yā€™all are cool about it.
Cait gets a lot of hate because 1) she comes from money and 2) cop. Iā€™m sure thereā€™s other reasons but those are the main two I see. But whatā€™s not coming up in Jinx fan-circles is that Cait definitely changed once she saw what was actually happening in Zaun. She even called her own mother out about the government that doesnā€™t give a shit. Cait herself is traumatized directly related to Jinx. Again, Enforcers being killed in front of her AND Jinx kidnapping her from her fucking shower. She didnā€™t even have time to get dressed. I imagine Jinx made her get dressed at gunpoint but thatā€™s my own theory. And now, if Cassandra is dead (likely based on trailers), Cait has every single right to want revenge. Jinx killer her colleagues, violated her privacy, and then (presumably) killed her mother. Cait has her own trauma break because of it and wants revenge.
Yes, Jinx is 100% traumatized and that plays a huge part in her character. But Cait and Vi are also traumatized as fuck. They all handle it in different ways.
I think in season 2 weā€™re going to see Cait likely killing people and showing us how good of a shot she really is. We already know Vi is going to have a moment where she breaks too, but turns to pit fighting and alcohol. Jinxā€¦ feels like a wildcard again. Especially once Noxus gets involved.
Not a single person in Arcane is completely ā€œgoodā€ or ā€œbadā€. I canā€™t speak much on the other characters in depth like Cait, Vi, and Jinx since Iā€™m not nearly as invested in them.
If you made it this far and are thinking of dropping spoilers to get me to hate Cait, Iā€™ve heard more than I wanted to already. And Iā€™m still going to defend her from the unbridled hate sheā€™s probably going to get again. Sheā€™s grieving. She has trauma. Sheā€™s allowed to be pissed the fuck off and want revenge. Sheā€™s not the bad guy. No one is (except maybe Noxus???). And no one is the good guy.
So letā€™s all just get along and enjoy the damn show.
For the record, Cait isnā€™t my favorite either. Sheā€™s a close second. Itā€™s gotta be Vi for me. Sorry, not sorry.
Edit: any spoilers from the leaks that are put in the comments will be deleted as soon as I see them. Immediately and without hesitation. Things may have been ruined for you, but donā€™t ruin it for others. Iā€™ve seen and heard about some of the leaks. I donā€™t need to be told about what some individuals do.
Keep that shit to yourself. Not everyone wants the spoilers.

Loyalty, Honour, A Willing Heart (Prt. 2)
2. Balinā€™s Storytime
When Fili and Kili attempt to scare Bilbo over the orcs and whatnot, Balin goes into his story about the battle of Azanulbizar, which ties into what I was talking about prior.
It is a glimpse into Thorin's past life and what he is, but it also looks at his character through a different lens.Ā  It shows the devotion his people have to him.Ā  Because at the end of that sequence once we come back from the flashback, you can see Thorin is standing there reliving those memories.Ā  Balinā€™s telling the story, and he says, ā€œthere is one I could follow, one I could call King.ā€Ā
And then, we cut to all the rest of the Company awake and standing around, (stark contrast to when we enter the scene and everyone is asleep), essentially silently confirming--and standing as witness--to the fact that they trust Thorin.
There is zero chance that any of them would be going on what is essentially a suicide-mission to reclaim Erebor where they have no idea what they are going to find.Ā  And are probably going to die on the way.Ā
There is no reason why they would go unless they were 100% devoted to Thorin.Ā  If they had any small bit of doubt about him and his leadership, or just him as a person, they would not be on that quest.Ā  Those people are DEVOTED to him.Ā  They have a choice, and they have decided to trust in Thorin to lead them straight and bring them through this.Ā  Or, if not, they are willing to die by his side.Ā
For his cause.Ā
Another thing that I noticed later after thinking about this was how all the dwarves who did join him are technically working-class. There is not a drop of royal blood in their veins. (Exceptions being made for Balin, Dwalin, Oin and Gloin, as they are also descended from Durin, but from a 'non-royal' line).
Theyā€™re tinkers, toymakers, miners.Ā  They are not nobles.Ā  The nobles--which would be the council in the Iron Hills that Thorin went out to talk to about the quest--told him no.Ā  They did not follow him.Ā  Which, given that Thorin is their King (in a way) and very powerful and has the bloodline behind him, speaks a lot about what they think about him.
The people who do join him on this quest are ordinary people. "Hardly the stuff of legend", to quote Balin. They are the last people you would pick to go fight a dragon. But they came when the others who are qualified would not.
And seeing who chose to follow him, I think this scene has a very powerful message about how Thorin has been with his people.Ā  Heā€™s very empathetic, heā€™s very kind with them.Ā  I mean, he worked as a blacksmith for years.Ā  What princeling VOLUNTARILY goes and does blacksmithing?Ā
It is an extremely dirty and physically taxing job. And, while historically blacksmiths were viewed as important members of their community, how we see Thorin portrayed (in his 9 second clip) makes me wonder if in his case, that didn't hold true.
I'm sure there could be some sort of racial prejudice about having a dwarf blacksmith (which, technically you would want them because of their talent with metals), but despite that, I wonder if he didn't get treated poorly because he was a dwarf in a human settlement.
He was not obligated to take that job. There are many other jobs he could have chosen to go with if he HAD to take a job. He also could have chosen not to work at all!
But he chose to do the hardest job there was out of his options.
Thorin, of royal lineage, who has known no other life, decided to become a blacksmith to earn money for his people. It speaks absolute volumes about his character and him as a person.

This scene suffered from the pace being rushed which makes it hard to understand what Kabru is going on about if you didn't piece together the story through his POV. This is unfortunate cuz this moment is so realistically messy yet is the satisfying moment when the leading and supporting characters finally come into an understanding.
Kabru's antagonism makes perfect sense only if the readers remove themselves from their favoritism to Laios.
I see some confusion over why he thinks Laios is an enemy of humanity. Firstly, Laios thinks the things that killed all of his family and community are cool. This alone to me is at least sympathetic enough to see why he harbors subconscious prejudice against Laios. It doesn't make him right, but it's logical enough.
Secondly, yeah he's in over his head with his own judgment and thinks too highly of his own motive*. Thirdly, he's bit of a dick to Laios I won't even lie here (I do blame stress for the punch) . But like everyone except Falin is a fucking dick to Laios when you think about it.
And to be completely fair, ever since he knew of Laios' interest till even here still Kabru's been flip-flopping between "This man might save us all" and "He would choose monsters over humanity, we are doomed if he got the power which he is very close to getting rn, let kill him". It's not like he went 100% antagonistic.
This is getting long so,,,My breakdown of Kabru's pov, which explains his actions regarding Laios, under the readmore.
Let see thru Kabru's pov in chronological order:
Taking it from the start, Kabru has a bit of a savior complex no doubt stems from his survival guilt. Being the sole survivor of a massacre by monsters it's understandable he feel that it's his duty to find out why it happened and prevent it from happening again. We saw him and his crew talking shit about how good he is at reading people, and he totally gonna topple the greedy governor and save this place. Then they continuously got their asses handed to them by monsters cuz while Kabru read people well, he can't handle monsters. So yeah he admitted deep down he's not making it to the deep.
So now Kabru wants to find someone he can trust to save the island. He got his eyes on Laios bc he can't read him. Laios is a damn good dungeon explorer and isn't motivated by greed while almost everyone is, so what gives?
Here we see Kabru reveals he had failed to get Laios attention while trying to get to know his mysterious party. This is my interpretation only but he was definitely pissed about it too. Kabru is a bit over his head about his own charm so Laios ignoring him probably stunk.
Even after knowing Laios' special interest he was like "huh so that's how he is" until the matter of dungeon master's power come up and it occurred to him "wait would this guy who loves monsters use the power to make the dungeon full of powerful monsters that will destroy people?" He definitely did not decide Laios was humanity emeny right there, it's a possibility. As much as Laios pulling through and save the island from becoming another Utaya tragedy is a possibility.
Here, we see him desperately clinging to the former possibility until the latter took over "It's too late to get through to him i have to kill him." But did it take over? In that panic, his true feeling comes out. He still wants to understand Laios as a person, he still wants to believe in Laios after all.
Wgile it's easy to get pissed at Kabru just as we did the the Shuro/Toshiro vs Laios fight scene. Fellow autistics know how much it fucking hurt to get your social ineptitude get dragged out like that. I do think Kabru's rant here is good for Laios. This is the first time somebody has admitted to want to get to know why he like monsters despite them hating the creatures. It's not the solidarity like what he and his sister has, but it's not total rejection. Again, his own party members who care about him want nothing to do with his interest (minus Senshi)
Tldr: Kabru's alright and his actions make complete sense even if it's flawed

Charlie & SeviathanšŸŽšŸ’”šŸ™ Theory Future
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While scrolling on tumblr found this Lil pic in Lucifer room. Hereā€™s a link CHARLIE AND SEV! HE AND HELSA MIGHT BE COMING! And I got SOME VERY ANGSTY IDEAS!
I know a lot of people theorize Sev was a bad boyfriend or that his sister did something but what ifā€¦it was CHARLIE who screwed up! Perhaps Sev would be like Verosika and Charlie Blitzo! Let me set the scene:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What if Charlie initially got with Sevā€¦to get closer with his parents(Leviathan to see if he knew how to find Lilith, who seems to be or have been close with Lucifer, had some pics with him)
Tumblr media
I can imagine at some point she tried to find or atleast try to contact her mom after the divorce. And when she came to realize she probably wasn't in Hell, maybe she was in the mortal realm. Afterall mortal had all kinds of tales about her like in Jewish folklore.
At first she had tried with her uncle Ozzie and the succubus and Inccubi, her mom's people only to get nothing. Perhaps believing they're forced to keep their tounges tied because of their closer connection to her. I know the show isnā€™t 100% tied to the biblical lore and Iā€™m not the biggest expert but I remeber there was something about Asmodeus and Lilith being married. Given their ties I imagine they def have a connection in the hellaverse.
as Helluva Boss has foreshadowed in the show and S2 trailer, Envy sinners seem to be "possessor types" can come into the human world in a way, perhaps through other peoples bodies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Maybe she hoped if she wasnā€™t in Hell, sheā€™d be up in the mortal realm like those religion stories talked about.
At first she just got closer, friendly to Sev and Helsa in order to get closer to their dad who she could get something out of better.
But one thing leads to another and Sev asks her out. Not wanting to lose her best shot, she dates him, despite not really liking him that way(she convinces herself to).
Overtime Charlie comes to butt heads with Sev and Helsa. I imagine they Def have their issues. Sev has been described as "not evil but moreover ignorant" and from what's been implied with Helsa, Def seems like a Regina goerge type mean girl. I can see Sev be a bit obnoxious, insensitive, kinda frat boy (not as bad as Adam, though I could see his behavior remind her a bit of Sev) but he wasn't a bad guy...like Charlie he genuinely had sweet intentions, just went about them the wrong way and didnā€™t always consider things properly too...
At one point they have a fight and Charlie finally snaps and...accidentally slips put what she really came for. Sev was HEARTBROKEN. He wasnā€™t perfect butā€¦legitimately liked Charlie and thought she liked him too, flaws and allšŸ’”
And for everything Helsa loves her brother. While she could be mean, she was like that with everyone, it was never a really personal or deep thing. But with Charlie, it Def became PERSONAL! Perhapsā€¦even she thought of Charlie as a genuine friend among the lackeys and yes man posse around her, only to realize she was just using her too.šŸ’”
Charlie didnā€™t mean to hurt them and itā€™s understandable sheā€™d want to find her mom, but at the same time was so focused on finding herā€¦she didnā€™t consider the damage sheā€™d cause on that path to Lilith, loosing so much more in the processšŸ’”
Tumblr media
In the end, Leviathan told Charlie Lilith Def wasn't anywhere he atleast saw her and everything else became bitter history...but hey. The past has a way to crawl back. They say revenge is a dish best served cold.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Imagine if Sev and Helsa do come into the future(perhaps thanks to the Vees like the social media Velvette, Katire Killjoy or someone else out to hurt the hotel), and exposed Charlie's darker moments to the gang and especially to Vaggie, trying to convince them that just like back then, sheā€™s using them in order to get to her. Charlie once said in ep 1 to Vaggie how the sinners were her momā€™s people too and at the end of her story, it showed she hoped sheā€™d be making her proud. She clearly believes mom had care for the sinners and would most likely be proud if she found some way to help themā€¦.maybe even make her come back.
Scenario:
Seviathan-Think about it! Think about all the times sheā€™s caused trouble because she didnā€™t consider the consequences or how itā€™d affect anyone! I know you know Vaggie, youā€™re practically running the hotel for her! spider boy knows, you can also ask his crazy boss and when she somehow took your(Vaggie) advice of ā€œaggressive kindnessā€ as just walking into his workplace and disrupting the set, and even accidentally walked into setting a FIRE pitching script ideas), snake boy knows.
Charlie-Donā€™t you dar-
Iā€™ll give her some credit, she tricked him into thinking she cared and it made him redeem and be savedā€¦she just had to have people die to keep her hotel from being wrecked, only to just NEED TO RENOVATE THE DUMP ANYWAY! Pity the rest of the cannibals who laid their lives for that day werenā€™t as lucky as him!
Maybe the problem isnā€™t that you just go about your ā€œbest intentionsā€ in the wrong way. Perhaps they arenā€™t whatā€™s best for them. Look at your new Angel friend(Emily) she managed to do what you struggle so hard to be. ACTUALLY GOOD! She didnā€™t even do anything hard, that only a divine heavenly entity could doā€¦she just knows to treat people like people. Not like characters in your stupid little music show.
Helsa-We def ainā€™t saints ourselves but atleast weā€™re straight up about being crooked. Now you all know. What you do is up to you but donā€™t say we didnā€™t warn ya. They leave
Vaggie-Charlie?
Charlie-ā€¦
End
I also hope this could be a way to address the critique people have about Charlie
think itā€™d be good to show and explore that even Charlie can be selfish and begin to reflect on herself on if sheā€™s doing it for the right reasons. Husk even once said that Charlie helps others out with their issues, partially so she doesnā€™t have to deal with her own. She might be at a point where she even questions if sheā€™s a good person or just convinced herself and everyone she isā€¦.like how she tried to convince herself she liked Sev.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Who knows this could even lead to huge changes with her relationship with Vaggie & the gang and how they view herā€¦could even lead toā€¦other things in the future. Good and bad.
What do u think? How do u imagine Charlie and Sevs relationship couldā€™ve been like? Iā€™d love to knowšŸ’–

STUDY IN LOKI ROMANCE
Part 4: Heart of the TVA
Tumblr media
Since we're only a few days away from the last episode, I decided to COUNT DOWN everything weĀ“ve got so far ( that can be interpreted very easily as romantic ) and discuss what the actual fuck is going on with second season. Because even though I shipped lokius practically from S1E2, I absolutely did NOT expect this kind of development. (Not that IĀ“m complaining)
Warning: This is gonna be LONG post, lots of screenshots, lots of SPOILERS, lot of "oh-my-god-they-so-cute" language, and little bit of meta.
I originally thought that this post would be everything at once, but since I have just too many screenshots this time around, IĀ“ll have to split it. so every post will be one episode. Color coding means:
IIIIIIIIII = anything, that coud potentialy be just acting choice.
IIIIIIIIII = everything else (tzn.: whatever was written, and/or carefully prepared by filmmakers. )
side note: I already wrote, about how amazing it is, that Mobius is unable to fight but fights anyway and how beautifuly, and ridiculously brave he is HERE. But this is about Loki/Mobius interactions, so IĀ“ll try my best not to talk about THAT. (Even when IĀ“m really happy, that s2 continues with this formula and Mobius is still his completely defenseless while aggressively brave self. I love him, btw.)
EPISODE 1 HERE
EPISODE 2 HERE
EPISODE 3 HERE
check-list, episode 4 (my beloved): 33) changing clothes together not to be that person, but like... they always went through the door from TVA on timeline in their "camouflage disguises". So Loki couldn't use his magic to change their clothes. I mean... they even make turning off system that prevents magic plot point in this episode So unless they have some special device in TVA (which was never established) It is implied, that these two just spend some time changing clothes together, before going out. And that brings me to this specific moment: At the end of the previous episode we see them going through the time door (fairly soon after Victor Timely, in 1893 clothing) And this episodes starts with Victor ariving at TVA and wondering around the empty hallways. Alone. So let me get this straight: After we see them both walk through the time door, they end in that war room (were they met in ep1), just the two of them. Victor is.... somewhere. who knows where, who even cares? And they though: it is actualy priority number one to change our clothes. Yes, right now. Never mind, we have He Who Remains variant wondering around the TVA and everything is going to explode soon. We have to take our clothes off. RIGHT THE FUCK NOW. IĀ“m sorry, film makers, but what the acual f-
Tumblr media
34) Bickering like married couple (part 4) (but this time with EVERYONE else watching them with question marks above their heads. And these two idiots husbands probably didnĀ“t even noticed xDD )
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also.... "ItĀ“s got your shape" šŸ˜³ really? really Mobius? And how would you- oh sorry, my bad, never mind. I almost forget you were changing clothes togheter MULTIPLE TIMES, so of course you would know that. ... right? 35) The "misunderstanding trope"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This whole scene is just... jeeez! Sylvie screeming at Mobius for wanting cake (while Loki already knows, that Mobius wants it, because he is in a stress.) He tries to stop Sylvie, but she continues. Loki circles around her and ends up right between them (cough...smybolism...cough) And Sylvie starts attacking Mobius because he doesnĀ“t want to know his life on a timeline. While Loki is RIGHT THERE, knowing perfectly well Mobiuses reasonĀ“s and how bad she is hurting him, because episode 2 happened. Loki knows. And then she leaves, and Loki follows her. But Mobius doesnĀ“t know, what we know: and that he went to her to DEFEND HIM. Jeeeeeeez writers.... thanks, for this perfect example of romantic complication. Dramatic irony 100%. IĀ“m living for this relationship drama while everything around them collapses and explodes. 10/10 television!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also... poor man needed pick-me-up cocoa drink immediately after šŸ˜
Tumblr media
36) Pie scene number two I have to say, I LOVED this scene. EVERY FUCKING WORD. philosophical conflicts? yes please. moral dilemas? give me more! but letĀ“s focus on Loki defending Mobius. Him bringing up Thor into the coversation, and comparing his change on Earth (that he didnĀ“t understand before) to his own change that came from spending time at TVA. spending time with Mobius. And he is standing infront of pies this whole time! basicly him low key comparing ThorĀ“s love for Jane to his love for Mobius
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And letĀ“s not forget how obvious the difference between two pie scenes is! Because the first one is full of relaxed gestures, kindness and understanding. Just Loki and Mobius being intimite and open with each other šŸ„¹ In glaring contrast with that, THIS scene, with Sylvie is full of conflict, tention and disagreements. The are standind, far from each other, and whole room has completely different (horror like) vibe.
37) THIS SHOT. just the two of them, right before the end.

Cherrycola hunger games au
okay so I got sick and haven't been able to sit down and write all of this down BUT here's the basic ideas I have jumping in my headšŸ™. I am still very much working everything out and nothing is 100% soild yet
So basically, Soda would be in the role of Peeta, but would do katniss' volunteer thing. On reaping day, Ponyboy's name would be called, and Soda, not wanting his brother to go into the games, immediately calls out that he would take Ponyboy's place in the games. Ponyboy starts screaming, telling Soda not to go, pleading to pick anyone but him. It was bad enough that Darry had to rush over, grabbing Pony so he didn't run up and get himself in trouble. there parents still dead.
With Cherry as katniss but no one called out for her. no one cried and called out her name. Her father was drunk and not fully there, while her mother silently cried. She had tried to see Bob's reaction, but he was too covered within the crowd. (I'm still deciding where I even want bob in this, same with all the other socs and greasers šŸ˜”)
Soda and Cherry somewhat know each other. with the flashback scene for them, Cherry, who had just gotten into a fight with her parents and had just that day broken it off with Bob because he was trying to make it to the capital(idk I'm still working it out but it would be interesting if he wanted to become a peacemaker. is that even possible? Who knows, he has connections ig) she was sitting underneath a old tree in the pouring rain, starving because she hadn't eaten in days since there was "not enough to go around" but she wasn't sure how true that had been. Soda on his way home from working(idk where yet) spots her sitting underneath a tree and her eyes closed. him thinking she was dying/dead rushes over because the least he could do for the pretty girl he had always seen in class was check if she was okay.
He gave her the thin jacket off his back and what would have been his portion of food for that night. Through the rain he walked her back to her own house, and they didn't talk much after that both too caught up in their own world until they were staring at each other on reaping day. Cherry was glad he didn't bring it up that the good girl in school who's life looked perfect even through the hardships of what they lived in.
the train scene relatively stays the same, Cherry biting back at their mentor still happens which shocks Soda because he has never once seen Cherry angry but here she was nearly stabbing their mentor because they were refusing to help.
okay hear me out. I think it would be interesting to have Marcia be Cherry's cinna or at least on the team and that's how they get close. For Soda I'm not quite sure who to put as his so if anyone has any ideas please lmk.
during interviews Soda drops the same bomb Peeta does but Cherry reacts a bit different than katniss. Cherry isn't a violent person, she hates violence so I feel like she would more likely distance herself, maybe get a bit annoyed but ultimately is completely thrown off because they barely knew each so why the he'll would a boy like soda like her of all people?
other than that everything's pretty much the same up until the games honestly(this might change but as of rn I'm sticking with this). With the Games soda knows they want to get to cherry, within the practice period she made a lot of them look dumb, tricking them into failing things they're good at etc. also quick off thing I think soda would know how to somewhat hunt and would be okay at shooting definitely not katniss level but more than everyone else there. Cherry is surprisingly good at throwing knifes, and that's her main weapon.
anyways Soda like peeta joins the career tributes in hopes of protecting Cherry. She wasn't told about this, she went into the games thinking they were going to be partners in this but running towards him she sees him gather with the careers and she freezes for a moment. she quickly starts moving because someone throws some sort of weapon at her and she starts running because she will not die.
The scene where katniss is in the tree definitely still happens. Cherry in the tree after being chased out of her previous spot and up a tree. she's practically falling asleep but is fighting against it SO hard. Soda is watching her with such a soft and sad look of his face because he doesn't want to hurt her. he never wanted her to look at him with such betrayal in her eyes. the bee bit still happens and I'm in between either having Johnny be rue or foxface because both would be so interesting. I'm unfortunately leaning towards rue.
WAIT imagine Cherry waking up so disoriented from the tracker jackers and just sees some blurted face over her. She starts freaking an accidentally like kicks Johnny and he's just desperately trying to get her to calm down. when she does calm down he explains what exactly happened. He keeps his distant and he has a real nasty cut lining his cheek. with what little supplies she has she helps patch him up just like he had and they start trusting each other more and more.
Johnny's death isn't because he got caught in a fight he couldn't win. He died taking a hit that was fully meant for Cherry. He did it willingly, knowing that even if he survived, he wouldn't make it. Cherry had a chance, and he knew he didn't, and he was fine with that. Cherry is sobbing desperately trying to keep the blood flowing out of his open wound, but they know it's both a lost cause. He tells Cherry to win for him, tells her to live knowing she is a good person, and he thanks her before he falls silent.
the games I haven't fully worked out but I want to to be slightly different than the books (at least slightly I'm still keeping like the whole cave thing and stuff like that) so when I figure it out I definitely will add to this post. the games definitely end the same as katniss and peetas games.
this post is really long so I'll repost add on my catching fire and mockingjay stuff later.
