“I did an oopsie.” 

Clockwork paused in his work, gaze turning from his work towards his ghostling (it didn’t matter if he was an adult, he’d always be his ghostling) who was smiling nervously, avoiding his eyes. 

“Oh?” He kept his tone light, even as he worked on untangling a time knot. Honestly at least Danny was immune to any effect of time, even if he couldn’t look into his timelines in exchange. It came with being the other half of Infinity. 

“Yeeah… you know that corner of the multiverse you told me not to go to because you’re working on some time problems? I might have stumbled into one of the worlds in the corner…” 

He stopped his machinations, fully turning towards Danny- Space, his Core whispered and quivered in utter delight at having an Equal in power- with a raised eyebrow, leaning on his staff and silently telling him to explain. 

Danny poked his fingers together, giving a nervous laugh. “So uh, I was just exploring right? Well me and Ellie, you know how she gets when she can’t wander, and um… I er, we might have messed with some things in the creation of it… I didn’t know it was part of that universe, I swear! It was so far at the fringes and halfway into the Zone and I couldn’t just let a universe die before it began and-”

Oh- Oh! His ghostling (and his grand-ghostlings it sounded like) had claimed his first universe! He could put off these time knots, this was a grand milestone for any Ancient, nevermind such a primordial force as one of theirs.

And this is how a DC world came into being with humans evolving with more avian traits. Like wings. And claws. Look, Dan thought it’d be funny if they gave baby humanity wings and Ellie started rambling about how much farther they could travel if they had them and Danny thought it could be cool. Oh well, time to keep an eye on their itty baby world now…

tbh I couldn’t for the life of me pick a color palette I liked And Render it so I gave up on color. Enjoy the half assery.

Tbh I’ve just been call it Ithacan Naga, but it’s objectively it’s a mix of snake, owl/bird, and human. So 🤷.

Tbh the wings are supposed to be white/gray-brown, cause owls & Hermes, while his scales are supposed to be an oscillating scale from sea green-blue to purple-tinted gray. Uhm. Evidently that sorta didn’t happen but also did. So.

The purple/grayer scales are gonna be more around with the feathers and wings.

Those fin colors are. Too blue and too bright but I love the colors themselves so they’re staying for now.

Uhm. That’s it for now, ig. I’m sorta on a timer rn and I’m tired so <3

ill be honest i think i like the idea of shadow being Something that doesn’t even qualify as a hedgehog on any level besides appearance, more than i like him being an actual hedgehog. like..

“looking like a hedgehog” ? “unassuming form” ?

like he was literally just planned as ‘The Ultimate Life-form,’ without an actual form in mind. a giant eyeless salamander from an entirely separate branch of animal family is his predecessor. shadow being a hedgehog is at best, pure coincidence (and definitely for the sake of The Hedgehog being the titular/most popular/most marketable surname in the franchise), and at second-best, a result of Gerald being inspired by the Super Sonic mural (which is just a fan theory & frankly not very interesting) —

so I think it’s both funnier and way more interesting for him to be, like, Black Doom’s little alien homunculus flesh puppet that his (its?) soul will transfer into at the event of his (its?) death which is pretty close to what the end goal was in generations actually. and that’s not even touching the mutations ; something that meets no actual qualifications for a hedgehog as a mammal — side note, Black Doom is definitely not mammalian or any alien equivalent to the class, so jot that down — but it’s just easier to call him hedgehog since that’s what he looks like.

Rereading wmmap for the hell of it and things that further add evidence onto novel Ijekiel’s behavior towards Jennette being a result of HIS OWN expectations he held himself to, when Athy/Lee Jihye falls into him for their first meeting, and then hides because Roger approaches. Roger then talks to a young Ijekiel, and Ijekiel says how he was looking for Jennette because Jennette got upset and ran out of the mansion due to hearing about Ijekiel studying abroad.

BUT THEN. Roger tells Ijekiel that he doesn’t need to deal with Jennette’s tantrums! Because though Jennette is important, Roger tells Ijekiel that he holds Ijekiel more important than her! Ijekiel knew then—from a childhood age that he never needed to look after Jennette or obey her requests. Roger never held that expectation on him. The only one holding him to the responsibility of ‘looking after Jennette’ was Ijekiel himself! It became such a thing that he bound himself to, so much so he dreaded it though no one but he wanted such, not even Jennette herself! Yet he dared, dared to push and blame that on her, that it was her fault and her selfishness that crushed him and made him resent her so—but it was himself all along! He was never actually bound to her, never actually pressured into taking care of or obeying her. It was a role he forced himself into taking, and blamed Jennette for the moment his resentment and jealousy bottled up and bursted!

Wanted to make a piece celebrating the completion of the pigeon pot but uhgggg I hate this I loved the sketch but i was too unfamiliar with colored pencils and messed it up arrrrrg chromatic blacks are so hard to make my hand hurts. If anyone wants to see the finished pigeon pot then you can comment and I’ll post it but ugh I feel so unmotivated now.
