Your eyes drifted away from the movie both of you were watching when you felt your boyfriend shift.

"Kuni?"

"Oh sorry." He looked back upon hearing your voice. You just noticed that he was about to get something from his black bag. "Did I bother you?"

You shook your head profusely. "No, not at all! I was just wondering what you were—" You focused your eyes on his hands that were hidden inside the bag. "— up to?"

Scaramouche did not spare a single moment. As he took something out, your ears were enveloped by the sound of plastic material ruffling against each other.

He handed you what seemed like a folded piece of dark blue clothing packed inside a plastic sleeve.

"Is this for me?"

"Idiot. Why else would I give it to you?"

"I just didn't want to assume, okay?!"

"Can I open it now?"

He gave a nod of approval.

More ruffling of plastic can be heard as you started to take the clothing out. It was dri-fit, made from microfiber polyester — the common material used to make jerseys for the athletes that you know. Even your brother has jerseys like these.

Wait, a jersey?

"Oh my god, Kuni!"

Satisfied with your reaction, Scaramouche smirked. "That's not just a merch, too. It's one of my own official jerseys."

"What the heck?!" You yelped. You held the jersey up and turned it around. It indeed displayed his surname and player number at the back. You gripped the clothing even more tightly. "Are you sure I can have this?"

"Of course. My mom said so too."

"Really?"

"Mhm, she really likes you."

"Woah."

"Not more than I like you, though," he grinned.

You coughed and smacked his arm lightly. "Shut up."

"Okay okay, calm down." He raised both his hands up. "Ah. Also, she gave me tickets for you."

Your brows furrowed. "Tickets?"

"The soccer finals for this season. We're against your school, remember?"

"Huh?! That's coming up so soon, what?! Hold on?!"

"Yeah, stupid." He flicked your forehead lightly before comfortably leaning against the backrest, both his arms supporting his head.

"What time is your brother supposed to get home?" He asked you.

"Venti and Xiao are drinking out with my brother. And, given Venti's alcohol tolerance, they might end late," you chuckled.

He sighed in return.

You gasped.

"Hold on, are you still not heading home because you're worried about me?"

Your boyfriend huffed and looked away. "Who told you that?"

"My instincts," you smiled. "Don't worry, okay? I'll be fine. Both me and my brother are used to being alone all the time since we also sometimes sleep at our friends' houses."

"You should start heading home now while it's not that late yet. Your mother might also be worried now."

More Eltingville Headcanons

Here’s some more headcanons of these losers (my children) and me sidetracking on my essay for funz! I’m gonna focus on stuff I think they’d like/do!

- We’re all in agreement Josh would be a brony, his favorite? Pinkie Pie.

- I think Bill would like cardigans, I don’t think he’d like hoodies though

- Jerry would play the Sims (totally not telling the club) and make sim Bill like his sim (he craves acceptance)

- Pete would’ve used Axe spray at some point

Sanrio, who they’d like or who they’d get pair up with as a Collab:

- Pete would fuck heavy with Badtzmaru

- Jerry’s color is green so I feel he’d stick to characters with loads of green and I think he’d like Keroppi’s big ass eyes.

- Listen, Bill would deny any involvement with Sanrio character power scaling but deep down……. he’s so basic with his pick, no offense Cinnamoroll lovers 💔

- Josh? Bonbonribbon, no explanation. (I just think he’d like some really cute stuff, but he’s still an asshole and would push a child all the way to hell to get any merch of this character)

Werewolves vs Vampires??? (I’m just thinking of stuff I did as a kid with friends 😭)

- I feel that Pete would so badly wanna be Count Dracula but I know he gives off werewolf vibe too, like this guy would definitely howl at the moon and tell his classmate he was feeling some type of way after seeing it

- Jerry wants to be unique soooo bad so he’ll say swamp monster (he was put in the werewolf team by force)

- Bill, I always feel like the meanest people wanna be vampires so yeah

- Josh would be a vampire too, I think one Halloween him and Pete went out with the same costume (they fought)

Small Talents/Hobbies:

- Pete mentions doing figurines (or well kinda) I think he’d secretly be interested in miniatures (recreating murder scenes to be frank, or his favorite horror scenes from films)

- Bill can sew pretty well and probably even fix some materials here and there (I mean him and his friends break so much shit, you gotta start getting good at fixing stuff, specially when you’re not well off which Bill’s family isn’t last I heard, and speaking from experience 💔)

- I have this fun little headcanon that Josh, although his writing sucks, he’s actually pretty decent at writing romance, I connect this back to another headcanon in which he was more involved with his mom when he was younger, like they’d watch soap dramas together and shit

- Jerry he’d do little magic tricks, my thoughts are that he initially tried to impress his parents (who in my head mostly ignore him or are just not that present) it probably didn’t work but it was fun at least so he’d go ahead and learn more

Other stuff:

- I don’t think they all read fanfic, most likely to do so though would be Josh, Jerry and maybe Bill

- If they were Gen Z, they’d probably say the brain rot shit 😭 Bill acting all high and mighty would roll his eyes and say it’s stupid as hell but I know damn well he’d laugh on the inside

- Don’t let them have instagram, social media in general but instagram especially, after all, they are who they are

- Bill would receive his exact coordinates in this time in age, lemme tell you

- It’s kinda dumb but I lowkey do think Josh and Jerry would fall for an AI chatbot (help them)

Gavi was like a hunting dog. He always smelled the weaknesses in his opponents. Mere hours earlier he was getting under Vinicius' skin with ease, getting him to start blabbering and fighting. Vini was an easy prey, nerves already on fire, Gavi just had to press the right buttons.

Emma sometimes thought that he had done the same with her. He had known, smelled even, her weakness. He saw her as what she was, the most fragile link in Madrid's structure. Her wandering eye, following him when she should have been taking pictures of her own players.

Gavi had known, and he had acted accordingly.

Emma was sure Gavi could find prettier, more convenient girls. Girls that wouldn't enrage his fans, that wouldn't get him in trouble with the club. But she also knew that she had something those girls didn't, the reason he had come back to her.

After the adrenaline high of playing a game like el Clásico, one would thing Gavi would be tame and pliant, but Emma knew better.

They had gotten together after Bellingham's first Clásico. Emma was working overtime in his passenger seat, queueing and programing as many posts as possible, to make sure her absence wasn't noticed. Her club would want to boast the win, and they would not be happy to know their social media manager was not doing her job properly because she was spreading her legs for the enemy.

Emma had been with many men before Gavi, but no one measured up to him, she had decided as she scrambled to recover her clothes, under his careful watch. A part of her wished she could stay a little bit longer with him, but she did not want Ancelotti of all people questioning why she wasn't available during work hours.

For better or for worse, a week after, Gavi got injured and Emma never heard of him again, until today.

Gavi was subbed in for the last minutes of el Clásico, and immediately stole her attention. He was clearly older, even if only a year had passed. His shoulders cut a broader shape, his gaze was hardened. He still got into fights, got his yellow card, but he seemed... more powerful.

And as he passed next to her, to go back to the locker room, Gavi caught her eye, and Emma knew. She knew he would search for her, go back to her studio apartment and continue what they started a year earlier.

"If I didn't know better, I'd think that you're really into being made a bitch by a Barça player," grunted Gavi above her. Emma whined in response. It was humiliating, it was degrading. But it made her wetter.

"Is that all you've got?" she snapped back. "You didn't even play ten minutes, you can't be this tired."

The response was a hard slap on her ass that made her gasp, and the hand pushing her head against the desk tangling on her brown curls and pulling her up, until her back was pressed to his hard chest.

"You don't want to play this game, corazón," he mocked, his voice warm against her ear. But Emma does. She wants Gavi to really let go.

His hand came up to squeeze her breast, as his teeth found the flesh of her neck. It was one of the things Emma loved about Gavi, that he would take her body fully, like it belonged to him. And maybe it did.

There’s a lot of content I’ve found while searching specific things in regards to Disney! So let’s start from oldest to newest? Sure !

1. KING CANDY BUG FEATURED IN WORLD OF COLOR

This is from a Special Edition World of Color show in Disney California Adventure called “Celebration!” It was to celebrate Walt Disney’s legacy. This show only went from May 2015 to September 2016, and hasn’t shown again. This show included our beloved king candy Cybug BUT it also included two other scenes from WIR (albeit briefly)! Those being “Ralph and Vanellope’s handshake” and “Ralph’s sacrifice (when he’s falling towards Diet Cola Mountain)”

Is it a VERY VERY short clip of him? Yes 😔 but the idea he was chosen specifically for a ‘special edition’ of WOC while being paired with big bads such as Ursula, Scar, Sid, Maleficent, and even Stinky Pete (and more!) is so awesome to me!

2. NEW POSSIBLE WIR TOKYO DISNEY ATTRACTION!!

In the year 2026 we are apparently getting a Wreck-it Ralph inspired ride! It will be in their Tomorrowland, replacing Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters (which I believe has already closed in late 2024 to begin construction!). Here’s the summary (read more about it here):

"In the new attraction, guests will team up with Vanellope and Ralph for an adventure in the game world. Riders will help save the world of the racing video game Sugar Rush, which is about to be destroyed by the bugs created by King Candy. Working together, players will return the sugar bugs to the original, cute sweets such as cookies and cakes."

I’ve heard it will look like Ant-man and the Wasp: Nano Battle in Hong Kong Disneyland (click here to see video of that ride!), a mix of screen and real props where you have to shoot (???) created by King Candy. Are these bugs referring to game-glitches or Cybugs? I’m unsure! But since KC is mentioned I’d LOVE to see if he could be apart of the ride as a “boss level” ending bit sort of deal (kind of like Zurg in Buzz Lightyears!)

3. VANELLOPE SWEET POP WORLD IN TOKYO DISNEY JUST OPENED!!!

From January 15th to March 16th, 2025, Pal-Palooza is featuring our favorite little racer!!

This brings forth LOTS new Vanellope centered merch, as well as events within the park that includes a specialty parade, food and drink, photo ops, hotel services (there was an AR thing involved w the hotels 👀)

I can't get your yakuza headcanons out of my mind, Daitou's got me in a chokehold and I'm not complaining, like--

in regards to that doodle you made to show height difference between reader and the boys [I love your art btw (●♡∀♡)] - I can't picture myself in reader's style, I'm currently going through my goth phase in my 20s lmao; picture a big bitch with tattoos and messy hair who's listening to nothing but 2000s hits and screamo bands - so I'd like to request a headcanon of how Daitou would react to a gender-neutral reader like this :D I also like to incorporate the idea of them once being in a famous band that he's a fan of! (sorry if this seems like a lot, I have a huge imagination hehe)

but if he's more into the cute and helpless type, I'll just walk my ass out the door and yeehaw my way into another yandere's arms ✌😔

That's on me for not drawing the reader inserts as cartoonish cinder blocks :') In truth I'm a little bit embarrassed seeing how many likes that doodle has gotten, it was something I put together in a hurry and the clothing was meant to be baggy, shapeless, with not too many folds for the sake of simplicity. I myself am more of a pilgrim goth, just to emphasize the randomness of the choice.

Drawing reader inserts always leaves me a little anxious. If I use a light shade of gray, will people think I'm excluding poc? Will plus sized readers feel like they've been disregarded? What about masculine readers? As someone who's demiromantic I always struggle taking appearance or gender into consideration, because to me it has no influence whatsoever. Which is hard to express when you want to offer blank slate visuals as an extra to the story.

What I'm trying to say is that all of my characters would like you for who you are. Sure, they find your looks cute, but it's not the defining reason. Maybe you have similar traits to them, maybe you're the complete opposite and they find it intriguing. You could be a buff man and Daitou would be just as grateful to have someone who isn't afraid of him. I usually stick to a female reader for bigger stories to avoid messing it up long term, but in the grand scheme of things it makes no difference. I always imagine reader to be a shapeless blob that provides the dialogue I need for the story mood. There's no concrete preference or type for any of my OCs. I mean, ideally you'd like them back and not hang them upside down above a BBQ pit but I feel these are sensible requirements (?).

And now for the actual headcanons since my ramble is over.

First encounter is comically awkward but for reasons you’re unaware of yet. You’re obviously used to people staring at you (more so in a country like Japan), so you were expecting the curious glance every now and then. On the other hand, being under scrutiny, from a man even more unusual looking than you at that, is odd. Mildly uncomfortable. You’re shifting yourself from one leg to another, hoping to be done with the introductions soon.

On his end, Daitou is anxiously fidgeting and trying his best to focus. He’s seen this face before and he can’t shake off the familiar feeling. Where the hell…He obviously can’t downright gawk at you, and he isn’t sure how to politely formulate a question. After several sheepish peeks, it finally dawns on him: weren’t you part of that band he really likes? No, what would the chances be? Then again, how many people out there would look exactly like you? Is it rude to ask? He has no idea. He resumes his mumbled description of the apartment and hands you the papers to be signed.

Back at his place, he finally digs through his merch and sprawls out the available clues. “I didn’t know you were into this kind of music”, Kazuya comments as he looks over the man’s shoulder. He’d come over to ask about the new tenant. “I’m pretty sure it’s them.” He concludes, confidently placing his index over a CD cover. “Huh? Who? The tenant?” Kazuya holds back his chuckle. “Why would a celebrity show up for a shady apartment offer? You’re tripping, man.”

“I’m sorry, this is getting ridiculous.” You finally exclaim, annoyed by the persistent stares of the now two men facing you. You’re standing in front of the apartment building, arms crossed, huffing at the tall scarred man and his blonde friend. “No, I’m sure of it. Even the tattoo is the same.” Daitou turns to whisper to Kazuya, oblivious to your complaints. In turn, Kazuya lightly elbows him, mouthing something about being rude. “Just ask them, man.” He adds, this time louder. “Ask me what??” You groan. “W-were you…um…in this band by any chance?” Daitou manages to blurt out, searching his pocket for the CD case and ceremoniously laying it under your eyes.

Ah. It finally clicks and you exhale, relieved. You confirm their suspicions and show them some backstage photos to solidify your claim. You ask Daitou if he wants an autograph or something, then swiftly scribble your signature on a piece of paper and hand it out to him. He holds it with a wide, childish grin. “You’re a weird one, you know? You could’ve just asked. I guess I didn’t expect to find a fan in the wild, especially here.” Daitou carefully folds the souvenir, eyes lidded with nostalgia. “Oh yes, it’s great. Drowns out the screams.”

Okay Clancy Tour Essay!!!!!!!

So I bought the ticket for this tour I think last August after I became obsessed with tøp when clancy came out and poppy posted so much about them that it was basically impossible to not start listening to them and I'm so so happy I did because i love them so much and the concert was so amazing and just andbdjdjebdkebddkdnssk

I went to the tour alone because i don't have any irl friends that are really interested in music except for one and our tastes are very different so yeah 😔 but it was still a lot of fun, as you'll read here!!

I arrived to the arena around 7 pm and was inside pretty fast and still had time before balu brigada would start so i went to the merch stand and got a t-shirt

Then I went to go find my seat and because i got my ticket pretty late i was on the very far left in the stands and couldn't really see the screens very well but i could see the stage better than i thought i would except for sometimes in between they had some lights or speakers or smthn that were lowered sometimes, obstructing my view of tylers side of the stage, but it was fine, that only happened like twice.

Then Balu Brigada came on and they played a few songs. I've never listened to them before but it was good, I enjoyed it even tho I never heard any of their songs before. After they were done a curtain was lowered in front of the stage but not on the sides so i could still see what was going on muhahahaha. So i could watch the crew check the equipment etc.

And then it happened. I was totally unprepared and freaked out because i never watched any livestreams so the "what's your eta" caught me completely off guard but i was able to recover fast enough to scream "TWO MINUTES" and that alone already made me even more excited and I'm actually getting fidgety right now, only thinking about it.

And then finally overcompensate started playing and i screamed WELCOME BACK TO TRENCH with everyone else and josh started playing and tyler jumped on the stage (i couldn't really see this because of the speakers but i kinda saw it on the screen) and I'm still screaming inside right now, it was so insane!!!!!!! Next was of course holding on to you with joshs backflip (i have video of it, i love it so much!!!!!) and cat!tyler and him jumping around and just djsksjskzlxnssisjKkzjz okay I'm trying to be normal (lmao a normal person would NOT write an essay on tumblr about a concert red, what are you saying??) Anyway then the transition to Vignette it is soooooo good, with neal banging out the tunes 😂 (i also have a video of this. Am i watching all my videos again while writing this? Yes, yes I am) then was car radio, which honestly almost made me cry (i can hear my voice almost breaking in, you guessed it, the video i took) and it makes me emotional again right now, it is such a great song and makes me scream and cry and be unwell but also so so happy that i got to experience it live!!!!!!!! And then the thing happend that i was totally unprepared for, even though I've seen people talk about it on here and seen pictures and everything, and the people who are also tøp fans reading this will probably definitely know this but i freaked out so much!! So during car radio when tyler(?) jumps into the stage he then appears in the stands!!!! And he was literally just a stand over from mine!!!!!!

Dixnsksjenekdlsmnejdjx he was so close!!!!!!! (The picture is zoomed in but still i did NOT think i would get to be even this close to him) and then he took his mask off and continued singing!!!!!!!

Tyler then of course went back on stage during the video of clikkies singing the judge and I could only see parts of it so i didn't know what it was at first and was like omgomgomgwhatshappening???? they put the lines of the letter from hamburg over the video!!!!!!! I don't know if they always do this, i have never seen it mentioned before so it was just a shock when i saw words on there. Then tyler was back on stage and singing, during this song but also before especially during holding on to you and overcompensate, you could see the alien symbol on joshs drum podium really well cus it was glowing. It of course went into the mashup with cut my lip but what confused me was that the spotlights were in sai colours during these songs, what does that mean????? During this song tyler also went up to josh and idk what they were doing probably being silly, i couldn't really see, but i still screamed and cheered.

Anyway next was the craving, it was so sweet, i love how intimate it felt and the transition to tear in my heart was amazing, it was so fun and also so sweet

When backslide started and tyler sat on his chair all i could think about was how poppy will freak out when she sees this (I'm sure you did, and you're absolutely right 😂) then it was shy away time!!!!!! I love shy away, i love sai i love the shy away coat (wear it again tyler!!!!!!!!!!) I had so much fun during this song, i think there should be so much more sai on this setlist and the setlist of every other tour they will ever do (cough the whole album cough)

Afterwards came heathens, which i also loved so much, i loved this song before i even knew about tøp and it was amazing to see and hear it live, i have an almost full video of it, it was so so so great and then the transition to next semester was so beautiful!!!!!!!! Next semester was so cool as well and then tylers vocals during the routines outro were sooooooo good omg i just watched my video again and it is insane!!

After this came the song that made me the most emotional of all of them: the line. I don't know why, maybe it's because it's the first song release when i was in the fandom but the performance was so beautiful, i cried and tylers voice omg!!!!!!!!! And obviously the scream was insane, i made a full video of this whole song, because i knew i would love it so much and i was right, it was amazing and I'm so happy that i experienced it live oh and when it started someone screamed so loud in surprise, it made me even more excited. Mulberry street was also really good, i think we did very well with the lights and it was so much fun and i will keep the little heart we should put over our phone flashlights for ever and ever (tyler put more sai on the setlist!!!!!!!!)

Then josh torchbearer came and gave tyler clancy his jacket and it was so cooooool!!!!!!!!! The music that was playing in the background, the torch, just everything and the reveal of dema burning (i have such a cool picture of that) and then navigating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanted to take a full video of this but my phone did something so i hat to restart 😭 but luckily i have the bridge and everything after that and it was such an amazing experience, i love navigating so much i can't get over the fact that i saw it live!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was screaming along so loud it was so great aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then it went on with the lore songs, natn (honestly don't have a lot of memories of this, but the ones i do are amazing), hds which was also so so great and i again screamed my lungs out through it and it was so cute how tyler jumped around. what surprised me was that even tho i was so high up i could still feel the heat from the fire, and tylers scream ofc i will forever have it stuck in my head. The next song made me very emotional again, it was my blood and i love this song so much, it was the first song i watched the video to apart from the lore videos so that's probably why, i almost cried again during this song and AGAIN i screamed the lyrics so loud

After this came guns for hands!!!!!!!! Another song i love so so much, honestly probably one of my faves from vessel, so i made a full video again 🤗 and, at the risk of maybe possibly repeating myself, i literally don't know how my voice still works with how much i screamed (well i did have sore throat yesterday sooo.....), the transition to lavish was amazing, they were so silly, the wedding was so cute, i love them so much!!!!!!! And then the transition to ride!!!! And the child they brought on stage to sing with tyler was so adorable and so confident (idk if i would've been like that if i was singing in front of tens of thousands of people at that age)

And then paladin strait 😭 i am tearing up again writing this, i don't even know how to describe it, it was just perfect, tyler sitting there at first playing and singing, then josh switching to the small drum set and them singing together 😭😭😭😭😭😭 (josh please sing more, please please please) and then josh going over to the drum island and the first outro before the birds and stuff, i will never get over this and the last part in the dark omg it was so so amazing and the transition to jumpsuit!!!!!!!!!!! Sadly i have no pictures or videos of jumpsuit bc my phone battery was already very low but it was great, the coat!! It's not the shy away coat but still i love this one too!!!!!!! And the performance in general! And midwest indigo was also just sbdndkddkdkkssnnd but of the last few songs the one i loved most, apart from trees of course, was stressed out, because as i was standing there in this arena with so many people i remembered again the first time i ever heard it when i was probably 9 years old and we sang it in music class and i remember that to this day and i wondered if any other children who were in that class with me were also there that night, also remembering that (probably not tho), i remember even back then that i did really like that song and i memorised the lyrics there and years later i heard it one time and still knew them and now that im a fan i still know them!! (and finally know what the song means lol) if i would've been a child with an interest in music i probably would've started listening to tøp then or a little later but i literally didn't listen to music of my own volition until i was 14 so i didn't. Anyway kind of drifted away from the topic, the stressed out performance was so cool, josh sang so beautifully again and i want to hear it over and over.

Now we're at the end 🥲, trees. It was a religious experience i don't know how else to describe it, i can't believe i was there. I cried yesterday when i rewatched all my videos and came to this one and i cried now when i watched it again. I don't think there's any clikkie who doesn't love this song and i am no exception, i can't think of anything else to say than that it was one of the best experiences of my life and I'll think about it forever ♥️

Okay that was it, my essay about my experience at the clancy world tour. In conclusion it was amazing i loved it so much, i hope one day i can go to one of their tours with friends, ones i find or the ones that got me to go there (poppy and bel) and i still can't believe i was there, I'm going insane right now, i want to see them again, it's only good that classes start next week otherwise i would probably just sit in my room watching my videos over and over again, so yeah. If you have the chance to go to this tour (tho i don't think there are any tickets left for anywhere) definitely do it and in general check out tøp's music, because they are the greatest band ever!

as someone who's an azul kinnie im curious why you placed azul on the slightly dislike list considering you like scheming characters

I think the easiest way to explain it is that I came in with the wrong expectations of him? I thought Azul would be similar to what Jade’s character actually was, so Jade ended up upstaging him in that regard. Essentially, not all scheming characters are equivalent; Azul has other traits which weigh him down for me.

I’ve mentioned this before, but I’ll reiterate it here because I feel it is very relevant for Azul. I… tend to not like “main” guys because of of how much they appear everywhere (including merch and marketing); it makes me feel like I’m being “pushed” to like them specifically rather than being allowed to think for myself about who I like. This is the case for dorm leaders, which includes Azul. Additionally, “main” guys tend to get more of a story focus (also true of the dorm leaders), and that in of itself can be a double edged sword. It means more information + backstory about that character, and while that’s great for lore and fleshing them out, it also means potentially polarizing the fans who were content with their perception of the character prior to the reveal. Once that change happens, it completely shifts how you see the character and then you can’t go back to how you felt before. This was a painful factor in what I call the “stock market crash” of my opinion of Azul Ashengrotto.

I actually quite liked him at first. I took his hand at the start when I first started playing TWST back in 2020 ^^! I even *gasp* simped a little??? (weird AU where Azul was my oshi instead of J word…) He was every bit an intelligent and calculating deal maker as I suspected he would be—well, at least that’s what the few vignettes available at the time and book 2 implied. Back then, only books 1 and 2 were available in full and book 3 was slooowly being updated in chunks. And really, I was liking book 3 a lot (he was still being a silly little scumbag, lol) and took no issue with it… UNTIL THE LAST PART DROPPED 💀 AND WE GOT HIS BACKSTORY…

Now 💦 I’m aware that the OB boys’ backstories usually garner sympathy and enhance the preexisting love we have for those characters but… Azul’s backstory actually had a very strong opposite effect on me. It was the moment I realized, “Hey, maybe I don’t like you as much as I thought I did.” I’d describe the feeling like having a pleasant dream and then you’re suddenly violently awoken by a loud alarm clock, a screeching parrot, and Sebek shouting in your ears at once.

I want to be clear when I say I do not mean to demean or to diminish Azul’s experiences of being bullied. I also do not mean to shame Azul for being (rightfully) upset about his circumstances or for being emotional. When I say that I started disliking Azul because of this backstory, it’s for a very personal reason: I just don’t like stories where a victim of bullying becomes a bully, thus perpetuating the cycle. It’s sad to see someone go down that path, spreading more hate because of the hate they had received before… and I’ll never believe that revenge is a good response for an injustice 😔 Azul’s case is a little different, as he does eventually go on to recognize how far he has strayed from the benevolent ideals of the Sea Witch and is now actively trying to work on himself (which I appreciate and applaud him for). However, it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth that I can’t quite scrub away. I think it’s because I found myself relating to kid!Azul in some ways, so that personal connection amplified the disappointment I felt in the decisions he made. It feels like looking into an alternate reality where I, too, went down a dark path—and that thought is unpleasant, to say the very least. Now I view Azul more like a cautionary tale and keep a safe distance from him.

kaji is a favourite too!!! his headphones, lollipop and hoodie is so iconic. i also love his parallel to sakura! sakura has someone to ask advice for who’s similar to him :))

introducing the four kings of furin/bofurin!

MOMOSE, the zojo king (the guy with a hood and sweater paws) we don’t know much about him yet (i hope we get more) but i just like him so he’s a favourite! so my top three are kiryuu, kaji and momose, in no particular order

tsubakino, the jikoku king (the one in the second frame)! the way the whole town just accepts them!! and their crush is treated like any other normal crush! they’re so older sibling vibe i love them so much

hiragi, the tamon king (the one in the third frame)! the dad of the group and the one who pops those stomachache pills/tablets like it’s nothing. tbf having to deal with the leader of furin, who legit yells into the broadcast mic thing, isn’t easy 😭

mizuki, the komoku king (the guy in the first frame)! nothing much is known about him either but he’s seems serious and is the strategy person of furin. also he takes off his glasses when he fights which is just really cool

also i realise i haven’t said this but the one with dual colored hair (kinda like todoroki shouto) is the main character of the manga, sakura, who’s goal is to be at the top of furin! he’s got ✨ trauma ✨ but he’s slowly learning to accept and rely on people :)) he also blushes at any kind of romance (and also when he’s shy or embarrassed), even hand holding. i don’t know how he’s gonna date people honestly

and of course, the leader/representative of furin, hajime umemiya! he’s really just like an elementary school kid, as Suo says. hes the sunshine character who you wouldn’t wanna piss off. he’s also the one who united furin with the four kings when they used to be a dog-eat-dog kind of school, so major respect to him!

(the next one contains a bit of spoiler on suo?? idk but just a warning. it’s more of a mini analysis)

a more formal introduction of suo and nirei, sakura’s vice captains and the supporting characters! nirei is good with people and collects information on people in his notebook. he’s the sunshine in the trio, and the other two are the sunshine protectors! suo is a joker, but don’t let that kind face get to you. he’s like the main instigator of most of the (harmless) shit that goes down in 1-1. he’s also mysterious with little information about him. oh and he doesn’t eat?? not in front of other people at least. i really wanna know his backstory tbh

but also:

suo. hes mostly easygoing with a smile on his face all the time. but also freaking scary when pissed off like if someone was looking at me like that i’d run and never look back. yes sakura is right, that’s not the face of someone who’s kind, not in this case. i’ll make a post psycho analysing him later

but he takes fourth on my favourite character list! then tsubakino, umemiya, nirei, hiragi, tsugeura, kusumi, suzuri, choji, togame, the twins etc. the list goes on.

point is: wind breaker is great and i highly recommend reading/watching it.

I LOVE your characters analysis and theories and after the newsletter thing, I really wanted to ask about your opinion on the Berdly's alleged invitation for Kris to go to the festival together. One of the problems that bothers me is that, I don't know, I hope this isn't just me, but to me, it seems Toby is creating a love triangle between Kris, Ralsei and Berdly if Kris really goes with Berdly to the festival. Precisely because of the romantic implications between Kris and Ralsei in the tunnel of love and Kris's playful little flirtations with him. And i feel like i need to see more thoughts on it - i feel like the only one thinking of how this would work? :( Now I wonder how Kris choices would be in game, if they would answer yes or no genuinely, Although the choices don't matter lol Imo, I dare say I would love to see a kind of denial on Kris's part (if Noelle ask Susie to the festival first), since Susie's question about the festival, I feel like they want to go with HER, on top of everything, and I would love to see a kind of jealousy on their character.

Maybe it's just my favoritism, I also thought about Susie asking who Kris would take to the festival and the Ralsei choice + wanting to bring Ralsei and Lancer to the Light World, I feel like Ralsei might even feel a bit more excluded than he already is in the game if all his friends were always having fun in the world without him. And if that's the case... I don't know what I would do other than cry for my baby boy 😔💔

Happy new year to you, too! And, if I caught it correctly, the point of the ask is my opinions on the implied Kris/Berdly as a legitimate pairing in the last newsletter? And general thoughts about how that feels exclusionary towards Ralsei? As your ask is already long, so I'll put my answer under a readmore-

In short, I didn't really pay much mind to that bit of dialogue that was revealed. As a general rule of thumb, I assume all content outside of the game (newsletters, sweepstakes, merch) doesn't actually carry weight for the overarching plot. Some could argue with me, but, as an example, the only thing in the trailer for chapter 1 were characters hanging out and a running gag of too many dogs blocking everything because of "spoilers", and everything that WAS shown wasn't any kind of impactful spoiler at all. Or, the trailer for chapter 2, which only featured the first cutscene of the chapter and nothing else, not even showing us Susie and Kris landing in Castletown. I believe the supplementary material we're getting right now fills the same purpose, teasers that show us snippets of comic relief or set-dressing that doesn't actually impact the deeper themes of the story, or the narrative beats of character arcs.

With this in mind, my thought for the Berdly dialogue was, originally, that it can only be triggered if you didn't break his arm in the Queen battle AND if you gave the present to Berdly in Cyber City rather than literally anyone else. It's something the game actively mocks as an action (adding the starwalker to your team on TOP of Berdly in some cases and them both just disappearing in the next room, since it's all just a gag), and if I remember correctly it was only added after a playtester told Toby Berdly had become their favourite character. (I might be misremembering that trivia though don't quote me on that!) I imagine this dialogue follows that thread? Where if Kris was nice to Berdly and included him, Berdly decides to also be nice to Kris and include them.

I don't think there's any kind of love triangle is being set up between Kris Berdly and Ralsei, and I'm not just saying that to ease your concearns. Don't let popular fanon fool you, Kris seems to harbour no positive feelings towards Berdly even by the end of ch2. I really don't see romance between them implied in the game, with or without that bit of dialogue from the newsletter. Krerdly as a ship SKYROCKETED after ch2 when it didn't really exist in ch1, and I think Toby might just be giving a little nod to that with that dialogue. Ralsei is excluded from his friends in a myriad of ways, but I really don't think BERDLY is a contributing factor. Again, fanon likes putting a spotlight on him because people grew fond of him, but narratively speaking Berdly is as ir/relevant right now as Catti and Jockington are.

Overall I understand the worry of a forced love triangle, god knows that's how I felt during most of Cyber City as I played with Kris and Noelle pining after Ralsei and Susie respectively, but I (tentatively) have faith in the game to not actually play a love triangle completely straight. (Even with everything in the snowgrave route, I wouldn't consider Noelle/Kris/Ralsei to be a love triangle, at least not one being used in a trope-y way, Ralsei/Kris and Susie/Noelle are just the two main pairings in the game and they aren't messed with all tat much.) It just seems cheap and unearned to shove Berdly into that dynamic, especially since he's acted like a bully towards Kris for possibly even longer than Susie has (as she moved in recently but Berdly's been boasting since he was a kid), and Kris at no point shows interest in Berdly other than to mock him. You CAN make a ship out of that but I don't think it's gonna be canon, nor that plausible if I'm being biased lmao

On the Ralsei side of things, if Kris ends up romantically involved with any of the lightners I think Ralsei's true and honest first instinct would be to just back away and sort of re-instate "his place" in the group dynamic, aka full doormat mode. I really, REALLY hope we see him have some self awareness of the fact that he's constantly being left out, but I don't think it's going to happen any time soon. His purpose IS to stay in the background, essentially a piece of the dark worlds rather than a fully realised person, but I'm hoping that, at some point, he's going to yearn for more. The town fair might be the perfect place to do it, too, as it's entirely in the light world and it, inevitably, leaves him out of it as he doesn't even (seem to) have an item he can turn into to be carried around. It'd be interesting to see him actually GRAPPLE with the fact that his friends are "more important" than he is, and maybe give him a sense of worth that doesn't entirely hinge on their attention and approval. Though, I don't want to get too optimistic, as there's some WEIRD shit going on around Ralsei and his autonomy.

Out of all the darkners he seems the most self-aware but also the most resigned to his fate, even more than Seam I'd argue. Where they waste the days away in unfulfilled monotony, Ralsei ACTIVELY SEEKS unfulfillment in order to lift up his friends, and as much as I WANT Ralsei to go crazy go stupid it's going to take a lot of convincing, and I don't know if that can happen through Susie and Kris as they ARE the people he's worshipping and putting himself down FOR. It's always just a whole bag of worms with this kid, and in the end if it's any consolation, Kris has two hands. Though I don't know if either Berdly or Ralsei can handle polyamory in a healthy way LMAO

All in all I consider that Kralsei must be canonized.
