I have new neighbors and today they were out in their yard (the youngest kid saw a cool bug) and their little dog was offleash so I got to meet neighbor dog! Neighbor dog is my new favorite
#the person behind the yarn#neighbor dog is small and has curly fur and tiny little corgi-esque legs#and her tail is so fluffy it drags on the ground when it's down#but she mostly walks around with her tail up and waving like a flag#absolutely adorable! I sat on the ground to greet her (to be less intimidating)#and once I passed the sniff check and she'd greeted my dad and brother too#she came back to me and flopped against my legs for more pets#I am delighted to meet her and hope I will see her again in the near future#and since she's an offleash dog and my yard is not really fenced between my house and my neighbor's#I'm sure I will lol#I do not understand offleash dogs? like. fundamentally don't get it#but also none of my childhood dogs were recall trained#and my main two dogs in childhood were A. a runner. wanted to run more than anything. if the door was open he'd run and run and run#not to get away he just really liked running#and B. my dear Wolfie who had the common sense of a block of concrete#we could not let that dog offleash because he would get lost inside the house#he got stuck up a tree once (only like a foot off the ground)#he was the size of a sort of large rabbit (another reason not to be offleash)#so he was offleash in our fenced in yard but only supervised#either by a human or by our other dog (who was both smart and scary enough to scare away other animals)#okay I guess I had three childhood dogs? I think we got Lilly when I was an adult though#Lilly could not be an offleash dog because she had an EXTREMELY high prey drive. she was a hunting dog#she was also Wolfie's bodyguard

#Having a great time btw I've just been chased across a near sea of miasma by stal riders and more! 10/10 nearly died in a high speed chase#Made it out relatively unscathed which is truly amazing lmao#Spoilers ahead: I have had the funniest time doing the great plateau quest chain. Once I sucked it up and made nice with the creepy statue.#He's(?) been alright. Fair trader. Good deals. I've mostly been terrorising kohga in between absolutely failing to craft working vehicles X#His new boss fights are so much easier than the first one lol. Less fun I'll admit but the music is groovy. You can probably make a#Machine and try and dog fight him but with few exceptions the turning circles are decrepit so I just stuck to mild dodging and shooting him#And running over to hit him some more. Kinda bland for a boss fight I'll say. Could have done with a lot more pizazz. It's kohga come on.#Anyway I do feel kinda bad because apparently he's been stuck down there for however many months/years and I AM kinda cheating with the arm#After the first fight he fled to the gerudo mine and the steward very nicely showed me how to get there but never underestimate#My procrastination because I'd already found it by just exploring so I just teleported. In game it must have been terrifying lmao#Racing across an endless void filled only by the light of your rapidly running out of battery glider and the red glow of the gloom away fro#The apparently immortal ancient warrior who beat you up and tossed you down there and there's no sign of perusal so you're probably safe#But you get there and he's already sitting there poking some bananas having wiped out your goons and plundered your supplies.#Like sorry man but the arm comes with the hero territory I can't exactly take it off.#Maybe if you stopped terrorising the people purah would let you have one of her long distance teleportation slates. The fact that my INCREDIBLY technologically illiterate mom learned how to use gifs (without my help, I should add!!) makes me so happy. This is the best response I could've asked for.

this has been the most week
#complaining ahead!!!! ik i dont make personal posts on here much anymore but i Need to vent in some tags for a bit#stepmom crashed the uhaul so bad this weekend that she had to be flown to a hospital three counties away#shes super lucky to even be alive but shes only got like. a single broken rib?????#aunt and i have been going to the crash site to clean up and recover what we can#bc the truck was totally full when it crashed and flipped over lol. stuff was scattered everywhere#its been fascinating to see what managed to survive getting flung out of a truck going so fast it took out multiple trees#the completely sealed bottle of v8 was pretty good. and my rolled up rug that got flung 15ft into a tree still makes me laugh#thankfully a lot of what was in the truck was just furniture but we still have nooooooo idea what the state of any of it is#bc they cant open the truck to check it out#and the moms r now stuck over there for a week bc the person they stayed w after the hospital has covid#and im taking full care of our 11 (11!!!) pets bc aunt works 12 hour shifts so she has like zero energy for any of that when she Is here#i mean im usually the go-to pet carer of the family anyways but this has been such a mentally taxing year i just want to nap for awhile#would love to be able to sleep for longer than three hours w/o a puppy pottying on the floor or cats escaping or dogs barking like mad

Lance's nephew, Kaz, is visiting for a week or so!
I'll never get over that white streak across his nose. It's not a natural marking. It's because he got his nose stuck in the ex-pen as a puppy and had to be rescued.

#Kaz#rough collie#also pictured#Lance's feet lol#Kaz was my favourite puppy out of all the litters I helped with#at 8 weeks old he'd follow me around the house#and any time I stopped moving#he'd immediately sit and just watch and wait#he actually stuck around for a few more weeks after the rest of the litters left#(we had two going born two weeks apart)#cause his person needed some extra time to come get him#any time this lad got bored he'd go find a toy#then bring it back to where I was#and just sit nearby and play with it on his own#I'm so used to being around service dogs#or pets owned by experienced trainers#that when I'm around a collie owned by an average pet owner#man is the difference ever noticeably!#Kaz is a great little dude#but he's also a little neurotic#new situations aren't super comfortable for him#and he'll just pace endlessly#he charges up stairs like they're trying to eat him#things that are 100% a result of his upbringing#and not his temperament#it's just fascinating to me#what a difference exposure training can make#for instance#in creating a dog that can take new situations in stride#anyway I love this fluffy little man

'but if it's a spy??' 'well what are you going to do abou#it???' so fry asks the stranger 'are you.. a Spy [eyebrow raise]?' the stranger obviously says 'no!! what are you talking about???'#'that's exactly what a spy would say!' 'i'm sure a spy would also be saying the same thing!
