Seven years is how long the Marauders lived together at Hogwarts.

REGULUS FINDING THE MAP BUT EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM ARE TOO SCARED TO INSULT HIM SO IT JUST GOES SOMETHING LIKE THIS:

*Regulus finds the map in James' bag and stares for a while before casting revelio*

Moony presents his compliments to Regulus... and begs him to continue his studying because he's on track to be top of his class.

Padfoot would like to register his astonishment that... Regulus has finally forgiven him and will do nothing to upset him further, thank you.

Wormtail agrees with Moony and would like to add that Regulus is exceptionally terrifying with curses, so his mouth will remain shut.

Prongs bids Regulus a good day and advises him to kiss him more often, also he loves him very much, also his eyes look very nice in this lighting, also they should go on another date soon, also-

Thinking about how if Regulus looked in the Mirror of Erised he wouldn't of seen himself with James, or himself with Sirius.

He would see James and Sirius happy, surrounded by the people they love and care about. Because Regulus didn't care if he was happy. What Regulus desired the most was for the people around him to be happy.

And if I said he broke down because he spotted himself in the crowed, and knew he couldn't give them what they and he wanted...

I think it’s funny how the marauders came up with these code names so if anyone found their map they wouldn’t know who made it, and yet they call eachother the code names on a daily basis

Prompt 1 - School

Sneaking around was what the marauders did best. James had been sneaking around Hogwarts ever since his first day at the school. It had fascinated him. All the corridors and secrets the castle held. He’d found the same wonder in his dorm mates, and together, they had mapped out Hogwarts in a way no others had. At this point, they probably knew more about the ancient castle than Dumbledore did. They were the ruling Kings of Hogwarts Castle, and they acted as such. 

James sauntered down the third-floor corridor, ticking off all the secret passageways along the way. Grinning to himself, knowing that he was the only one in the vicinity who knew where they all were. The grin fell from his face when he heard the familiar sound of stone grating on stone and watched as a familiar head of dark curls carefully peeked out of the secret entrance that led to Honeydukes’s cellar. 

James had hidden himself in the shadows and watched with his mouth hanging open as Regulus Black hauled himself and a heavy-looking bag out of the secret passage and straightened his robes. James was going to have so much fun with this. 

“Hey, Regulus!” He called down the silent corridor and trotted towards Regulus where he stood frozen to the spot.

Honestly, people talk about Peter and Remus as if they were on the same level as James and Sirius, when in reality Peter acted like a cheerleader whom James and Sirius treated like a damn pet, and maybe James considered Remus somewhat, but Sirius clearly didn’t give a damn—I mean, he was willing to let a classmate be killed by him with everything that entails, and then he was the first to distrust him during the war and think he might be a traitor. The supposed friendship between those four wasn’t as idyllic as their fans try to paint it. It’s clear that James and Sirius were the leaders and the ones who had the real friendship; the other two were just complements.
