Okay so. Having watched those X-Men movies I noticed that Magneto and Grindelwald (sorry for referencing JKR's IP) are REALLY similar characters; they're both extremists advocating for their minority group, going against a pacifist former lover close friend who together with they were the two most powerful fictional-minority-people, and of Germanic origin.

I began to tell my family about this realization at dinner, and my mom agreed, noting "they both betrayed and fought against their good friend, like Mao Zedong and Chiang Kai-shek" 💀💀

me: "implying Mao Zedong and Chiang Kai-shek are doomed yaoi??" my brother: "I don't think she picked up on the innuendos..."

(For those who don't know, Mao and Chiang graduated from the same military academy in the same year. (not friends.))

But my dad also did not realize that the shipability was core to the relationships of the two fictional characters and said, "No, I think it's a valid comparison, same thing as Robert E. Lee and Ulysses S. Grant." (I think my family may have misinterpreted some signs at Fort Tejon??? I found a National Park Service page that says they met ONCE before the Civil War. Perhaps my dad simply meant to reference that the soldiers stationed at Fort Tejon before the war split up and fought for both sides, and got confused since Lee was mentioned at Fort Tejon (he did not actually say Grant's name, my brother suggested it).)

Extra: Selena and her twin brother Octavius both went to the Durmstrang institute due to their parents' demand. After they graduated, they both were encountered by Gellert Grindelwald, who managed to convince both the twins' parents to join his cause, but the twins wanted no part of it. Then Albus Dumbledore found the Prince twins and managed to convince them to join his fight against Grindelwald and his followers in exchange for the safety of their family. Selena was also married shortly after she graduated to a German Pureblood named Benedict, who was Eileen's father. Selena and Octavius were given the role of spies for Albus, and they infiltrated Grindelwalds cause and turned ths tides of the war in Albus's favor. After Gellert was confronted along with followers, the twins were marked as traitors and their parents were taken away to Azkaban and the war resulted in Benedicts death, and due to Selena and Octavius's parents investing all their money to Grindelwald's cause, the twins were left with nothing so after the war, they immediately went to work to keep themselves afloat

After the war, both the twins went into work almost immediately to scrounge up money to keep themselves going, Dumbledore even offered free education for Eileen as a way of saying 'thank you' for their services. Just when they thought they were done and everything was starting to feel normal for them, Grindelwald escaped, the twins were re-called and both Octavius and Selena's new adventure took them all the way to New York in America and getting involved with an eccentric Magizoologist and his strange new group of friends.

Her twin sister is a Gryffindor and an Auror, she is also married to a curse breaker and supports her twin sister's choice in career, her little brother Anthony is Gryffindor and a quidditch player for the Chudley Canons, and her other brother Eden is Slytherin and works for the ministry of magic, and her youngest sister Isabella is still in Hogwarts and is a Hufflepuff and is planning to be an Herbologist. HARRY POTTER CHARACTERS -TIER RANKING LIST (purely based on the books)

Ok, here's the elaborate explanation for specific rankings that literally no one asked for

Sirius and Snape: Whether u r a marauders stan or snape stan, I think the character richness, nuance and complexity of these characters is undeniable, especially considering these r the 'good guys'. So any beef I hv with these characters gets cancelled out because of how well they're written, just because of the pure greyness of their personalities.

Same goes for Dumbledore, especially with his backstory

Teenage Voldemort was the villain, cunning, charming, psychopathic, manipulative; if only those traits had carried on. Adult voldy is straight up dumb, his manipulation of the malfoy family was the only thing in character, really disappointing nonetheless

James is that high because he's a pretty well rounded considering the fact that he's dead before the series starts. This filter didn't have regulus but i d put him in the sm category

Oliver Wood and Lockhart are that high just because they're iconic

The filter didn't hv Parvati Patil, so just consider that image to be her. She's the best side character imo. She's girly in a typical teenage sense, with her giggling, butterfly clips, her obsession with divination and centuars, her love for unicorns etc. But she's a total badass, she totally enjoyed her fame as harry's date in the yule ball, then straight up dumped him n went with sm beauxbatons guys when he wouldn't dance with her, stood up to umbridge, and fought with the DA until the very end. Her last appearance was when she won a duel against a death eater, she's an absolute queen

Rosier family headcanons

Warnings: includes non-canon ships like Rosegold (Vinda Rosier x Queenie Goldstein), and my own ocs

Druella and Rosier Sr were both born and raised in France up until the late thirties.

Vinda Rosier is Druella and Rosier sr’s aunt, their father is her younger brother.

Ella’s father also was an acolyte of Grindelwald and a member of the Alliance alongside his elder sister.

He was a fervent believer in Grindelwald’s cause but the Rosier family’s association with the dark wizard oftentimes made them a target of the French Ministry of Magic.

Aurors would visit the Rosier household regularly, especially if they had been tipped off about meetings being held there amongst Grindelwald’s followers.

Usually they’d disguise these meetings as balls or dinner parities just to keep the Ministry at bay, but that didn’t exactly prevent them from being discovered.

Druella wasn’t allowed to these “parties”, her mother Eglantine Rosier would always send her up to her room before they even began.

She would secretly spend most of the night peering over the upstairs banister with her brother so that they could eavesdrop on the conversations being had by the house guests.

Vinda would usually notice both her niece and nephew sneak out of their rooms to try and get glimpses or hear the little gossips coming from the party.

But she’d never reprimand them for their snooping and instead just let them be. I think Vinda would be rather proud of Ella and her brother for preferring to indulge themselves in topics regarding the current instabilities of blood purity and the strain muggles were having on wizarding society.

After all they were going to have to learn eventually, even if now their interest was just out of childish curiosity.

I’m sure Vinda has tried to convince Eglantine to let the children take part in one of the meetings, even if only to get some insight on the purpose behind them.

Eglantine wouldn’t budge though, but that was only because she was looking out for the best interest of her children.

She didn’t want either Ella or Rosier Sr to be caught in the crossfire of the Ministry and Grindelwald’s acolytes if they were to be discovered.

Eglantine thought that it was best for her children not to know too much about the discussions being held by Grindelwald’s followers in fear that they would be targeted by the Ministry if they had even so much as an inkling of what the acolytes were plotting.

In reality she just wanted to keep them safe, especially when her husband was taken into the custody of the French Ministry.

That’s when things started to go down for the Rosier family.

Druella’s father had been arrested by French aurors for hosting and harboring members of the Alliance, as well as promoting Grindelwald’s ideologies and allegedly being in direct contact with Grindelwald himself.

In spite of the piling evidence that proved Rosier was guilty of these crimes, his imprisonment upset many influential pure-blood families who saw this as an attack upon wizarding society within their own government.

With the support of many prominent pure-blood socialites who were either close acquaintances of Rosier, or close friends that all shared in his ideals, the charges were dropped and he was released from Ministry custody.

Rosier moved his family to Great Britain around 1935, just before his son was expected to start school at Beauxbatons.

Due to the family’s sudden move, Rosier Sr was instead enrolled at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry where he would befriend Tom Riddle and become one of his Knights of Walpurgis.

Druella would also attend Hogwarts only a few years after his brother’s enrollment, although her mother would’ve preferred to send her to Beauxbatons.

Vinda has always been ambitious and driven by her supremacist values. People underestimate her because of her beauty, but trust me she is not just a pretty face, which I think is more than self-explanatory considering the fact that she is basically Grindelwald’s right-hand man, or should I say woman.

Druella always admired her aunt, not only because Vinda always carried herself with so much elegance and grace like a woman of her time and class should, but because Vinda Rosier was formidable.

She was an unstoppable force of nature that should never be reckoned with. Vinda’s gaze was piercingly sharp and she wielded this aura of confidence that Druella never believed herself capable of exuding herself.

I gotta say non-canon Vinda Rosier and Queenie Goldstein are my otp. Don’t get me wrong I love Jacob for Queenie but Vinda is just so ugh 😫 I wish they could’ve ended up together!!

There’s just something about their dynamic that awakens something deep within me that I didn’t even know existed like— Rosegold is pretty much the air I breathe.

I could see Vinda and Queenie living in a beahtiful French villa raising their little blond curlycued baby after Grindelwald’s imprisonment.

Whether or not Vinda got with Queenie, I’d still headcanon her as a lesbian. She never married, she never had kids (at least not in canon).

I imagine that if she lived to meet Druella’s daughters she would be like an honorary grandmother to them.

Vinda definitely took pride in Bellatrix who would’ve reminded her of herself when she was younger.

She would’ve definitely taken Bella under her wing, and like her mother Bella would idolize her Auntie Vinda for her independence and brilliance that set her aside from all other women of her time.

I headcanon that the Rosier family were big supporters of Grindlewald based on Vinda Rosier being his most loyal follower and so they raised Pandora and Evan hearing about him

What they were supposed to take away from their old family member conversations on him was that Grindlewald had the right idea of things, that he was a hero who did everything he did for the greater good and that Dumbledore was cruel and a hypocrite for stopping him, and that Voldemort might not have been on the same level of greatness but he was the closest thing to it and with the support of the Rosier family he will succeed where Grindelwald failed and raise the House of Rosier to untold glory along with him

What Pandora took away was that she couldn’t prevent her prophecies, that if someone like Grindelwald could do atrocities to prevent the things he saw in the muggle world and they still happened anyway, she had no choice in the matter and it was best to just give in and enjoy the time she has with her loved ones while she has them

What Evan took away was that he needed to go find a brilliant and troubled wizard with daddy issues, seduce him to the dark side and then end up in a doomed homoerotic romance with

What both the twins took away from it was that Dumbledore cannot be trusted
