In the Lestranges trial from Goblet of Fire, which man do you believe was Rodolphus Lestrange, and why? Was he the “thickset man who stared blankly up at Crouch” or the “thinner, more nervous-looking man whose eyes were darting around the crowd”?

Would love to know your opinion!

I have always thought that Rodolphus was the first man, first of all because I imagine him more muscular than Rabastan and then because I believe he was the more courageous and contemptuous of the two, therefore the one who tries not to show fear or agitation. Let's say I think he had some traits in common with Bellatrix in terms of character and so he did his best to appear at least dignified.

Riddle era headcanons

Walburga, like her son Sirius, was very rebellious in her youth. Wally’s parents had difficulty suppressing her recalcitrant tendencies and it only got worse once she got to Hogwarts. 100% bullied Muggleborns, probably even tried to hex Tom maybe once or twice before he earned his reputation.

Orion Black and Abraxas Malfoy were the first of Tom Riddle’s peers that he befriended during his first year at Hogwarts. In spite of this, Malfoy was the only one out of the two who joined the Knights of Walpurgis.

There is no doubt in my mind that would lead me to believe that Orion was not a pure-blood supremacist, but I don’t think he was much of an extremist when it came to blood purity. It definitely comes down to how far you are willing to go in order to preserve your own ideals and for Orion that only went as far as to marry your own cousin.

Alphard Black was a metamorphmagus like his grandniece Nymphadora Tonks. Being a metamorphmagi was not widely accepted back in the ‘30s and ‘40s, especially for witches and wizards born into influential pure-blood families so I don’t think Alphard’s parents approved of his abilities and probably implored him not to use them in public.

Cygnus and Druella were a love match which was a rare occurrence for pure-blood marriages at the time.

Tom Riddle’s classmate Rosier Sr. was the father of Evan and Felix Rosier. Rosier Sr. is also the brother of Druella Rosier, which therefore makes him the uncle of her three daughters Bellatrix, Andromeda and Narcissa.

Druella inherited the lighter Rosier traits such as blond hair and blue eyes from her father, while her brother Rosier Sr. got the gene for more darker features from his family like his aunt Vinda Rosier.

Birth order of the Black siblings: Walburga (b. 1925), Alphard (b. 1927) and Cygnus (b. 1929). Canonically, Cygnus was born somewhere around 1938 which would’ve made him thirteen by the time Bellatrix (b. 1951) was born. Most fans have considered this a mathematical error made by J.K. Rowling and so I’m going to put his date of birth around the late 1920s.

Lucretia Black was not a pure-blood supremacist like her family, making her much like her cousin Alphard in that regard. She would later become an ally to the Order of the Phoenix when Voldemort rose into power.

Rodolphus Lestrange is said to have the gift of foresight, which I headcanon he gets from his father Lestrange Sr. Ironically, the raven is the family emblem of the Lestrange family, and in Greek mythology, a raven is the sacred bird of Apollo, God of foresight.

Lestrange Sr. married Tasoula Shafiq, a pure-blood witch from the Shafiq family who are listed in the Sacred Twenty-Eight. The Shafiq family are of Middle Eastern origin which is where I assume Rabastan Lestrange got his name from; the name Rabastan is Arabic for ‘Head of the Serpent’.

Euphemia Potter and Walburga Black were actually very close friends during their time at Hogwarts. The two grew apart especially once they graduated and Euphemia went on to marry Fleamont. Walburga didn’t approve of the match, because even if the Potters were a respectable pure-blood family they were not supremacists.

Orion and Walburga saw their marriage as more of an obligation than a partnership. It was a practical match which neither Orion or Wally were hesitant to accept. The two of them believed that it was their duty to keep their bloodline pure and if that meant marrying each other then so be it.

Due to the House of Black’s constant inbreeding, Orion was born with hemophilia.

The new face for one of my OC favorites, Corvus Rodolphus Lestrange, tell me he doesn't look exactly like a young Bellatrix? And the mouth seems to run in the family, as it also resembles Rabastan.

Where We Once Were Pt. 2

You were smiling to yourself as you scribbled on your divination notes. You were really good at it, or so Professor Trelawney said. You often stayed behind after class, it being your last one, to help her set up for her class in the morning. 

“Mr. Lestrange? Could you hand me the purple teacups?” She asked, standing on a stool that was balanced on a small table.

“Of course, though professor, wouldn’t it be better to levitate them up?” You asked, handing her the tray.

“Why does a raven put stones in a watery vase instead of finding a puddle?”

You just lightly laughed, “I mean, you have got me there. Is there anything else?” 

“No no, you can go on. Thank you.” She said.

You turned and walked down the street to the hallway. Humming lightly to yourself, you were tired but you knew that you had school work so you were already planning to do it at the dinner table. 

Suddenly, a girl appeared and stumbled down the stairs. You instinctively reached and grabbed her before she went off the edge of the stairs, “Oh my god, are you okay?” 

“Yes, yes. I am-“ she stopped when she looked at you. You also stopped. It was her.

“You’re Pollux Lestrange.” She stated, pulling her arm from you, you hadn’t realized you were still holding her.

“You’re Hermione Granger.” You replied.

“I-Um, thank you for catching me.”

“Oh! Yeah, uh, no problem, though, where did you come from?” 

She grinned slightly, the light from the candle on the wall illuminated her lovely features, “Don’t worry about that. But I do I have a question for you.”

“If I answer,” you smiled, trying to hide your huge grin that she was talking to you. “Will you answer my question?”

“Yes,” She looked down, “Are you, I know this might be a sensitive subject but are you like your parents?” 

You looked at her expression for a second before you sighed, she stared at your face, which the glowing moonlight covered, making you look peaceful. 

“I don’t have their anger not their beliefs. I will admit that I do have my mother’s devotion to that of which I care about.” You said, thinking about her, her photo in your room at your Aunt and Uncles house.

Other than your nose and jawline, you got your features from your mother. You shared her curly hair, rich brown eyes and smile. Hers were sharp with intelligence and with a glimmer of something you couldn’t quite put your finger on. “Also some features bear resemblance.” You said, smiling.

She nodded, “I get that, sort of. Well,” she pulled a small necklace, “this is how I appeared.” She said, lips sealing, showing that she didn’t want to say more. 

“Well, Hermione, will you walk with me to dinner?” You asked, hoping she didn’t detect your tone and didn’t see the tips of your ears and your cheeks which you knew were reddened.

“Sure, I am starving.” She smiled as you both walked down the stairs. “Are you going to sit with us?” She asked.

You thought about it. “Well, I don’t know if I really should. But I will walk you to your table.” You compromised.

She nodded, she knew what or rather who you were worried about. 

You knew what your mother did. You knew it all.

I'm curious to know what relationship Voldemort and Rodolphus have. In my vision they have a good relationship, they get along well and Rodolphus never resented Voldemort for Bellatrix's attentions because he knew full well that Bellatrix was never his.
