I had a dream MANY months ago that Scary Kids Scaring Kids sold a vinyl of their self-titled album for $40 -- well they're selling it now, for FIFTY dollars. wait the cheapest is actually $42. my dream was pretty close then.

One element of cultural Christianity that took me forever to move on from is the idea that you have to pick one spiritual path, or one set of spiritual beliefs, and stay on that path to the exclusion of everything else.

You do not.

Speaking from a pagan perspective, most pagan groups not only allow but encourage sharing space with/learning from other spiritual traditions, and I know the same is also true for a lot of other non-Christian religions. You can practice or believe multiple things, even if they seem to contradict each other! If it works for you, makes you feel connected to something greater than yourself, and doesn't cause discomfort or cognitive dissonance, there's no reason not to include it in your practice!

Fyi this post isn't just for ex-Christians who still want to have a spiritual practice. I absolutely see this same basic belief that you can only believe/do one thing show up in culturally Christian atheists who seem to think being atheist means they can't be open to spiritual or mystical experiences. There are many, many religions and spiritual traditions that do not require belief in a God, but culturally Christian atheists seem to mostly believe atheism and spirituality are mutually exclusive. They aren't.

In the last 24 hours I have been tagged in replies asking for money five times. Given that this had only happened once before in the last year, I'm pretty sure it's all scams/spam... Possibly even bots, as I got personally tagged twice in two different replies to someone else's post I had liked about being gender fluid.... (Tumblr bots like to pick one post and interact with it a lot).

I already turned off DMs from people I don't follow and wish I didn't have to when that was the latest development, but if this continues I may have to limit who can tag me too...

My advice to any and all of you would be:

Don’t tell your religious parents you’re an atheist/have joined another religion until after you move out.

Don’t tell your homophobic parents you’re gay until after you move out.

Don’t tell your transphobic parents you’re trans until after you move out.

Don’t feel invalidated in your identity because you have not told you parents. Sometimes your family are the last people that should be informed. Your safety is so much more important.
