hate that time someone was like "why don't you read the website YOU linked" and I already had and it didn't even back them up.

found out Waterparksdrama blog is run by IP haters and it's kinda funny how IP shot up after they reblogged and has been slowly falling since then (was previously 51%)... the dogma of waterparksdrama... escape it!!
follow up to my last post
oh this is gonna be harder for me to pick...
oh and once again haters are welcome to vote! but please only if you've sampled multiple eras otherwise it'll just be their most popular albums lol because that's what you know about to hate

There's an EU initiative going on right now that essentially boils down to wanting to force videogame publishers with paid games and/or games with paid elements such as DLC, expansions and microtransactions to leave said games in a playable state after they end support, or in simpler terms, make them stop killing games.
A "playable state" would be something like an offline mode for previously always online titles, or the ability for people to host their own servers where reasonably possible just to name some examples.
I don't think I need to tell anyone that having something you paid for being taken from you is bad, which is a thing that routinely happens with live service and other always online games with a notable recent example being The Crew which is now permanently unplayable.
Any EU citizen is eligible to sign the initiative, but only once and if you mess up that's it. You can find it here. (https://citizens-initiative.europa.eu/initiatives/details/2024/000007_en)
Even if you're not European or you signed it already, you can share this initiative with anyone who is, even if they don't care about videogames specifically because this needs a million signatures and there is different thresholds that need to be met for each EU country for their votes to even count and could also be a precedent for other similar practices like when Sony removed a bunch of Discovery TV content people paid for.

also sexism (particularly "women are weak and need protecting") makes a lot of sense when you realize historically probably like, over half of all women -- at least -- experienced menstrual disability.
(not saying sexism is good ofc. just that it's a lot easier to see how it happened. being female does in fact correlate with having certain disadvantages. I hate it, but evolution's cold hearted.)
possibly controversial take but having anything other than a perfectly painless menstrual cycle should be considered a disability.

^^ you do NOT have to go through this. You can get treatment.
I have been so much happier since going on continuous birth control 👍
WHEN ON PERIOD:
do not crash out
your feelings are NOT valid
do not send that text
don't kill yourself. lock in
do not act on negative emotions until at least 2 days have elapsed

fascinated by how when i first posted this IP was really high and it's been steadily falling ever since. i guess my blog -- my followers and closest blogs -- are on the enlightened side of Waterparks tumblr (not really on waterparks tumblr but sorta)
also i'm very surprised Greatest Hits is winning, i thought i was sorta alone in loving it
this poll is for the fans AND the haters. because I've seen different haters have opposite opinions on the same era? so you know what fuck it i'll also make a worst release poll
(0-3 inclusive btw -- could have worded that better)

In high school my teachers would ask for a personal response, and I would write just the most bonkers shit, soul open, whatever came to mind. If the prompt made me think of queer Tumblr discourse, I would reference that. My teachers didn't care; I was personally responding in multiple full, grammatically correct sentences. Some of them probably found it interesting. They never docked my grade for being terminally online.

"avoid parasocialism by actively disliking/hating someone" sorry babes. you are still parasocial about this celeb by disliking/hating them based on nothing. parasocial hate is still a parasocial relationship.

in the age of ai, it's good practice to remember that everything online is upheld by physical systems in the real world. a chatgpt search is simple and easy but the processing consumes ridiculous amounts of energy to run the servers and water to cool them.
somewhere you can't see it. so you don't think about it. but those resources are still being consumed.
same goes for crypto. entire warehouses are dedicated to bitcoin mining, there have been years where it used more energy than the whole country of Argentina.
in long Island, Microsoft just signed a 10 year contract to restart an entire nuclear plant exclusively to power ai servers. in other cases, thoses servers are tapping into the national grid and traditional coal plants are ramping up production to meet demand.
now, more than ever, we need to be extremely conscious of our energy usage. think about the extreme weather that had happened in the past few years the hurricanes and droughts and fires and tornados where there shouldn't be tornados and lake effect snow months after the great lakes should have frozen over.
please don't use ai. push back against companies adopting it. rag on your friends and family for using it I'm not kidding guys it's consuming obscene amounts of energy
if we ignore every other glaring problem with ai, it's energy consumption alone should make you want to throw your phone into the sun

I'm surprised that while IP is falling behind, Greatest Hits is staying even with the big three parx albums.
