do you really think radical feminism is unsalvageable from a transfeminist perspective? i've been reading a lot of Talia Bhatt's writing lately, and it really reminds me of a lot of the stuff you've talked about on your blog; i find her argument that allowing TERF ideology to subsume the entirety of second-wave feminist theory is throwing out the baby with the bathwater to be incredibly compelling. a theory which centers patriarchy to be the radix of gendered violence and oppression, which is uncompromising and does not give into liberal feminist ideas about womanhood being a "meaningless category," gender liberation involving essentially defining trans women out of existence, etc, seems sorely needed at a moment where liberal feminism has vaguely hand-waved in trans rights specifically in order to prioritize trans *men* and valorize masculinity while continuing to abjectly marginalize transfems, and i find Bhatt's total rejection of white cis TERF co-option of radical feminism and reclamation for the new wave of transfeminist thought to fit that need. anyway that's not intended to ask you to argue with me or anything, i'm just as interested in hearing why you disagree as i am in hearing if you do agree, and i'm not looking to convince you or be convinced either way! i've just been thinking about this a lot lately since stumbling across her (honestly incredible) theory on third-sexing and getting introduced to the concept through that, i'm still working through my thoughts on it and looking for more to read both on it and in opposition to it, and the discussion on radical feminism prompted me to see if you had any thoughts; no worries if not.
yeah i mean @taliabhattwrites and i are literally mutuals on here even so i would hope im not jsut totally denigrating her incredibly insightful & groundbreaking commentaries on the subject when i criticise the second wave haha!
like i don’t know if i have/would say “radical feminism is unsalvageable” because im not even sure what that would mean right? like radical feminism isn’t a concrete object that we can literally build/tear down but yes of course there is almost always worth in reading feminist history & perspectives even those that we fundamentally disagree with because as you said there is a lot to be gleaned from the theories & works & histories.
im honestly not sure where you’ve gotten the impression that like i would just throw out “the baby with the bathwater” so to speak because to be honest i’ve been trying to be pretty careful about not just dismissing all radical feminism as fundamentally transmisogynistic specifically because of the incredible value i’ve found in Talia’s approach

Bahubali cutting up that man (I forgot the name) for trying to touch Devasena.
People: Yes, romantic shit, woohoo, marriage material, he loves her so much.
Deva cutting up that man (I forgot the name) for trying to touch Varadha and clearly shouting "I told you not to touch MY Varadha!!!"
People: Yes, friendship shit, woohoo, friendship material, he loves him so much....... as a brother and friend.

Framing your oppression as androphobia is anti-feminist so that’s why people (rightfully) shut you down for that shit
thats not anti-feminist. transandrophobia is so different from regular “androphobia” which doesn’t exist. i dont think cishet men can be oppressed for being cishet men. this ask is just another example of the queer community erasing trans men and trans mascs and how we refuse to discuss any possible oppression we might face because ‘we’re men, and we’re the oppressors’ or ‘we chose to be men’. its not anti-feminist to suggest that trans men experience a unique kind of oppression, that’s all im talking about. i admittedly might have misspoke in my original post, my bad, finals have been beating my ass lol

A note of caution for those in TROP fandom who were not around before s2: you cannot trust FoF on leaks. I mean you should take all leaks with a decent pinch of salt anyway, such is the nature of 'leaks', but FoF in particular have a record of presenting unsourced (and untrue) info as '100% confirmed'; of doing whatever will get them the most clicks and never mind if this has e.g. set one of the actors up to get a ton of abuse from the fandom racists on Christmas day; and on just not being able to tell the difference between "this is a thing we have heard" and "this is what we think that thing means".
Is the leak yesterday about TROP casting for a main character 'high-born knight' in his 30s true? eh. maybe. Did the casting call actually say it was TROP, or have they just assumed that? Is it actually a main character? who can say.
That said: if this is true I do hope it's Celeborn, because I want him to be in s3 (and also think he will be in s3, which - note, FoF! - is not the same thing).
(but. lord. I am not sure I am strong enough for 18 more months of tedious ship war slapfights over this elf. Some of us aged about fifteen years in the last mid-season hiatus! Please can someone start a really controversial yet believable rumour about anything else that'll have everyone focusing on that for a while? pleeeeeeeeeeease)

let me be so fr y'all. i will NEVER shame a woman for having a man that treats her right. okay? that's always going to be a win, why would i complain about that? i just think that most of y'all that say you found him are fckn lying.
like i've watched women in dv situations lie through their teeth. they'll lie to their besties who know them freckle to freckle about their bruises. it doesn't even have to be abuse. i know how much women lie to keep up appearances with other women and i'm just saying i'm not buying it with most of y'all. that's my truth. and i start having issues when you start lying about that reality to younger women who will most likely just end up in the same shitty relationship bc of the false hope women in mid-to-shitty relationships with men espouse. and i can tell they're lying even MORE when they start trying to talk about how "women aren't necessarily better" whether that's about celibate or same-sex-partnered women. they'll drag their own female friends in order to convince everyone else that their man is truly the real deal as a status symbol. they'll shit on what their friends do for them in order to justify their veneration of this mid-ass moid. i've just seen it happen too many times, and that's why i think it's justified that radfems draw parallels between het-partnered feminists and liberal women who cling to femininity. y'all talk the exact same most of the time and even have the same arguments.
anyways.

One of these days I'm going to end up making a video essay or something about gender-nonconformity in norse mythology bc people are doing the same thing they always do where they find out the black-and-white view they originally held wasn't true and immediately swerve to the complete opposite instead approaching the situation with any kind of nuance. Yes Loki is undeniably queer both by modern standards and the standards of the time, no that was not portrayed as good or aspirational. People really like to point out lokis femininity as proof that old norse society fully accepted gender-nonconformity as if there isn't a poem that is 50% her getting called a faggot for it.

the same idiots who a few months ago didn't shut up about how poorly treated LGBTQI+ people were in Muslim countries to own pro Palestians Liberals (gay marriage banned/gender conversion therapy forbidden etc.) and said they'd literally be killed if they stepped one foot out there, now want to make us believe that one of them sent a trans athlete to participate in the most coveited sport championship in the world
Yup, checks out
The TRA were right about the lots of you : the anti trans brain damage is in full effect

Omg the Valkyries winning the blood rite is so unrealistic! Omg Feyre beating the Middengard Wyrm is so unrealistic! You wanna talk realism? The most unrealistic thing about this series is that the bat boys, Archeron Sisters, and literally every other mfer in existence aren't begging on their hands and knees for a taste of Lucien Cunt-Server.

Something I love about Nadia is that she is almost perpetually broadcasting innocent cinnamon roll vibes. She told a blind lawyer that he was probably a very good lawyer because the statue of justice was blind too and I- SHE MEANT SO WELL 😭😭😭😭 LOOK INTO HER SMILE SHE HAS NOT A SHRED OF MALICE

If Neil gave a single shit about feminism, he’d talk about how because Crowley is responsible for the apple thing, he’s also technically responsible for Christian misogyny. That would be an interesting burden/guilt to talk about.
But instead this guy just gets on tumblr.com and talks about how he totally planned on dressing the actors in drag and having them be 60’s American feminists

broke: Souls games need less female characters connected with themes of caring, softness, sacrifice, love/heartbreak, nurturing and motherhood because players are dumb and they might decide that it is what women should do if not explained 50 times that they have a choice uwu
woke: Souls games need MORE MALE characters connected with themes of caring, softness, sacrifice, love/heartbreak, nurturing and FATHERHOOD because the message of humans being capable of wholesome feelings in general is better than shifting it to just one gender

Just like Baela turning down Driftmark they're going to have Helaena refuse to bring Dreamfyre into battle for basically no reason since she's obviously not that torn up about her son 🙄 instead she'll say something vaguely prophetic or rebuke the idea of bloodshed despite her son and husband being harmed by the war
