repost: i accidentally just deleted :(
the results of the us presidential election have got me thinking about how the only three female prime ministers in the uk have been absolutely ridiculed and humiliated in the media, even after their deaths. it’s not that i agree with their policies or their political leanings, because i don’t, but where is that same energy with male prime ministers like winston churchill, who not only was a racist alcoholic, but literally was complicit in a famine?? margaret thatcher’s grave has been defiled and people, mostly men of course, casually joke about pissing on her grave and call her a witch. liz truss was turned into a meme in the media and portrayed as unintelligent and out of touch. where was that energy when rishi sunak quite literally borrowed a sainsbury’s worker’s car for a photo shoot to seem ‘relatable’? yes, men are also critiqued in the media but not to the extent these two women were. there isn’t commentary on what the men are wearing or what their hairstyle is, they’re not laughed at for wearing the same outfit more than once. women are villainised in positions of power and the fact that almost 70 million americans would rather vote for a convicted felon, rapist, racist and fraud over a well-qualified, morally centered and ethical candidate, because she is a WOMAN is only the latest proof of that. as someone who won’t be directly affected by the ruling i still think it’s absolutely disgusting and highlights the fact that misogyny is so much more ingrained in our society than anyone gives it credit for being

By Witch do you just mean a smarter woman? Because none of the women who suffered were witches, they were victims of misogyny and religious pressure just because they were smarter then a man. There were cases where it wasn't even that, men got jealous or got rejected and decided to accuse women of stupid shit

Am I too much
Am I too "sexy"
Am I too beautiful "for my own good"
Do I smell too good
Are my thighs distracting you
Is my chest too big
Is my face too cute
Am i making you feel like a pedophile
Am I the problem
Is my body the problem

it’s worrying that more and more young men are becoming conservative/republican, but then again i’m not surprised because less and less men are pursuing higher education. women have passed them in the number going into the stem field which is absolutely amazing

That steoritype that most eastern European women are skinny and pretty is a lie, most women here are considered "ugly" and it's actually common for women to be "not attractive". Because most men think women over 39 are old and "old=ugly"

stop babying white women, the voting booths are private so no they weren’t “forced” to vote for trump they just can’t stomach a biracial woman being the first female president. they will get what they deserve once trump starts his 2nd term😊
i don’t think it is babying them. i’m often one of the first to call out white feminism/ coddling white women but whether the voting booths are private or not to me is irrelevant. equally, unfortunately lots of women who voted for trump were latina, african american and more. i don’t think i mentioned white women in the post you’re referring to. besides, the fear of a man and what he will do to you can be absolutely debilitating and can significantly cloud your judgement, i know that first hand. what about the women who don’t even get to leave the house because they’re being locked at home by men??
and in terms of them ‘getting what they deserve’, i think it’s more complex than that. what you think they ‘deserve’ will be felt by women all across america. i genuinely think it’s more sad than anything else that some women are so uneducated/indoctrinated that they believe trump has their best interests as women at heart and that they don’t want to see people like themselves in power. so, instead of them getting what they ‘deserve’ i really hope that they get properly educated and have a change of heart on women’s rights!! not everybody has the courage right away to deviate from what they’re taught to believe :)

Ladies, I don't think you understand how little validation men get. Like, women will get compliments just for being a woman. You'll get validation for being a certain gender. That's an amazing thing, that's a crazy thing.
Like, men will get hated on just for being men. Understand that men will get their first flowers typically at their funeral. They get very few compliments over the course of the year, genuine compliments. And they get almost no validation in their relationships. It's usually about their women, their female.
Women are flooded with attention, compliments, positivity, you know, from a young age. And that's an amazing, beautiful thing. But you guys gotta understand, like, men don't really get that. And that's why when you compliment a guy, it lights him up. Men really, like, go through a lot of stuff. Men are expected to provide support, take care of themselves with no reassurance from the world whatsoever. It's very difficult sometimes for men.
A man will remember the time ten years ago when someone told him that his sunglasses were cool.

i want to hug a cis man, who was, is, and will be an ally, who's understandable and aware, who fights for trans, women's, queer's and people's rights
i want to hug him tight and give him hot chocolate and say: you're not a monster. especially not because of your identity and the way you were assigned at birth. no one can judge you by your gender. your chromosomes do not define you. you're great person as you are, and people who hate you and others alike - are blind and stupid.
i want to listen to his struggles and his cries, i want to help him rest, i want him to be safe and secure, i want him to remember that he's also valid in any case and form, whether he is queer himself or hetero
i want him to know he deserves love and compassion, and even if he thinks bad of himself or doesn't value his life, he's still important and always will be. everyone is important in this fight, no gender or a group should be left alone or deemed to perish, left alone in hatred and misery, not even cis white hetero men, who also can be amazing people and i assure you there are. you just never tried to look for them

Its so annoying how often I'll see a blog have post after post after post after post so succinctly call out how the ways we view men and masculinity can be harmful to queer people, only to come across an op post explaining how misandry doesn't real.
Trans/intersex/agender/nb person: The way """progressives""" treat us as the worse of the worse of cis men and cast our actions under the shadow of stereotypes about cis men kinda sucks actually. What happened to equality and ending stereotyping and prejudge?
cis man: yes. I agree i have always hated this and think we should join hands as allies in the fight against misandry and androphobia.
Trans/intersex/agender/nb person: lol misandry doesn't real you silly mra.
