you know i knew in an abstract sense how difficult trying for a baby would be because you know, cis lesbian couple but there was definitely a part of me that was like PFT nah, it’ll be way easier for us. but you truly cannot plan for all the curveballs this process will throw at you. it’s so grueling and there’s so many raw emotions that come up. like we’re both fairly uncomplicated with no evidence of fertility issues but it’s all of the outside factors that impact and prolong the process and it’s so exhausting.
#when we had our initial consult with the fertility clinic in feb i totally thought i would be pregnant by now#but throw in a genetic testing for a fatal illness and fielding emotions about how our baby can’t be both of us#deciding to try with a known donor at home and then finding out that donor is a piece of shit#but only finding that out AFTER you’ve inseminated once already#so i’m currently in a very agonizing two week wait where i’m not even sure what result#i want#i just know one thing: if it doesn’t work this time we’ll be taking a few months off#bc the last few weeks have been traumatizing and that’s not being used lightly#we’ve only been at this 4 months and im already exhausted

#i havent made bracelets in forevar. yippie#the adjustable bracelet im sooo proud of#i got one of the wood burning tools but instead of using it to. burn wood. im just using it to melt the edges of the cording#instead of using a lighter which is sooo imprecise#this thing i can actually just press it down and melt it at the same time. so lovely#brot posts#one coworker down 3 more to go. total of 4 more bracelets#i wanna do 1 fancy stretch and 1 lower key adjustable bracelet per person#i just gotta ask to see what their fave colors are#i made a blue stretch one already i know at least one of them enjoys blue so i just dont know which one its going to#and then the other one. is a guy. and i dont think the sparkly stretch bracelet matches his style#so im just gonna do a lowkey all black adjustable bracelet for him#his is already designed i just gotta restring it 😑#anyway i got melted leather cord smoke in my eyes and i need to be awake in like 5 hours for a 12 hour shift tomorrow#after which i’ll need to make these last four bracelets tomorrow night#so erm well i should sleep now. arugh

i finished drawing the king+queen pair for my ocverse but i figure im not going to post them just yet, bc i also wanna revamp some older designs from andy's group, and i think if i post them all at once as a set i can have all their infoboxes in one place so its more convenient (since andy's group doesn't have those in their og post)

GOOD THING TODAY not only eclipse BUT I just saw THREE monarch butterflies outside which is A GOOD THING
#I saw two in total last year. TWO.#So already beat the new record#great thing since they're endangered#Used to be able to see several a day when i was little but they aren't as common anymore#Lots of places are planting milkweed and other butterfly attracting plants so good to see so many!#There's been a lot today and I'm HYPED that some Monarchs were able to come back#Hopefully there's not a repeat of Stupid Boy Butterfly again (butterfly that almost drowned in bunny's water one day but was saved and flew#away only to almost drown again the next day in dog bowl) (why was he so stupid.)#Saw another different butterfly earlier#Don't know what type (don't know much about butterflies i look up what they may be in Texas)#Think it was a common buckeye#Rambles

day 3: unnecessarily complex fit
ii gotta be honest, they were originally gonna have two feet but then i couldn't figure out the perspective of their right one so i decided to just not draw it
#im aware that its the 13th but i wanted to draw this prompt.. and im like real happy with how this turned out..#could not make myself do shadows because what the fuck are light sources even..#and and i made a silly brush specifically just to use for the texture in this because i thought it would be funny..#yeah and um dont ask the logic behind the color scheme.. i honestly dont think about that shit ever#i just pick colors and go with the flow. you will NOT catch me practicing color theory..#and um yeah..#oh once again i made the smallest things too detailed. so they stand out much more than they're supposed to..#the nose piercing i was able to dial back. but the choker just is like that. and it stands out way too much..#also really appriciate that the shorts look alright because i had no fucking clue what was going on there..#i put off figuring them out for so long that they only made sense once i put the texture on them. which was like one of the last things..#art#my art#cringetober 2023#um#digital art#oh and the background was a total accident.. i had filled the characters surroundings with white to make sure none of my notes and shit wer#visible. and id forgotten about it.. so then when i changed the background color. it basically looked like that already.#i just tweaked it a bit..#tbh im quite glad it happened so because ii struggle with balancing the background between too distracting and a void..#the colors are so fucked for everyone else probably because ive fucked with my monitors gamma levels a lot#basically overall saturation is supposed to be higher. and mainly the dark green is supposed to be a bit more blue-ish..
