First impression

Once again gonna go for a pre-reading impression, bc honestly I really think the fandom osmosis impression I got was so off imho. So, Kabru first impression:

Impression now

I LOVE HIM... He's constantly agonizing over everything he does and the impact it could have and the big picture and its gonna burn him out completely someday if he doesn't slow down and realize he's allowed to live for himself sometimes. In a story chock full of survivor's guilt he is Mister Survivor's Guilt. He feels like he needs to do something to earn his existence, and that's such a heavy burden he has put on himself. Ough.

Favorite moment

There are a ton of little parts from the story that I love, but I actually want to highlight this bit from one of the Adventurer's Bible comics that lives with me:

I don't know, there's just something... something about it. Allowing Mithrun the privacy of his own story is such a strange kindness. Who else but Kabru could have thought to provide it?

Kabru, who wears Utaya across his shoulders everywhere he goes, but also never shares much about his mom, his food, the things he misses from Utaya. Or the superstitions about his eye color, and the ways that even the place he misses most wasn't always a kind home to him. Kabru, who has learned exactly how to cut up the piece of his own story in order to be able to hold the weight of them all and do the things he needs to do.

Kabru looks at Mithrun, someone who doesn't have the ability to care for himself, and provides this service to him. Offers him privacy. Privacy. The people around Mithrun have cared for him for years, but who has given him this?? Food, sleep, water, basic hygiene... but Mithrun deserves dignities beyond that too, even if he isn't able to ask for them.

And Kabru takes his eye for creating palatable stories, which he has often used to make himself fit in or force himself through unpleasant things, and uses it to help Mithrun in a way that no one else had.

Idea for a story

I don't have anything super specific here, just a GREAT DESIRE for post-canon Kabru stuff. I want to see him and Marcille become friends. I want to see him struggle to figure himself out now that his driving motive has been resolved. I want to see him forced to consider that he can't always do things for the Bigger Picture. I want to see how his relationships with his party members change. I want to see the adventures of the Laios - Marcille - Kabru trio. Pleaaaaaaase

Unpopular opinion

He's not just a hater in a dungeon.......

Like for sure his feelings about Laios are complicated and boy can they include Haterism, but also he is like the only person who vouches for Laios at certain points. Kabru intentionally chooses to have faith in him at several key moments, and the ending of the story hinges upon that faith.

I think he's got a very black and white way of looking at things sometimes, and he likes to be in control. This is where the haterism can come in.

BUT there's so much more than just that to him. Kabru is an extremely caring person in general. He notices details about people and often uses those observations to care for them - Mithrun in the example above, for instance, or the way that he thinks about how hard it would be for Rin to go back to the elves when considering whether to hand the dungeon over to them. He has a strong sense of justice. He is loyal to his promises.

I just wish those elements of his personality were given more significance in the fandom :/

Favorite relationship

Gotta go with him and Mithrun here. They bring out such interesting sides to each other. Some of my favorite moments are them surviving in the dungeon together, and of course that comic is one of my fave moments. The way Kabru understands him and continually chooses to use that understanding to provide kindness and support to Mithrun... it's good.

But also I think that Mithrun gets to a core part of Kabru that Kabru usually tries to keep hidden. Some part of the survivor's guilt, I think... the way Kabru is driven by a sense of obligation to a thing he Cannot Ever Bring Back.

They both pull something out of the other that no one else does, at least over the course of the story.

Favorite headcanon

Hmmmmm... does "he and Marcille will be besties someday" count? I think it counts. I love the idea of them being gossip-heads.

Wash day, Styling and Fave Style

The ones who help w/ the process:

Satan goes the whole nine yards. Conditioning, rinsing, detangling, shampoo, rinse, and style. If braids, ofc blow dry then style but if not? Then he does everything to keep her curls intact. Usually sections the hair so it's easier on her. On days where he's pissed but it's also wash day, it soothes him. Seeing her smile as he shampoos her hair, the fact she trusts him with her hair. You know this demon did research, like heavy research.

Beel would help with the detangle but feels bad seeing her wince when he has to brush it out, so he helps with washing and lets her detangle but always reminds her to section it off so it's easier. Also helps with styling but there are quite a few snack breaks where she ends up doing it herself for a bit before he gets back to it. Belphie is usually there, seemingly knocked out, and will say something out of the blue like. "If you keep it sectioned off then it's easier." or "Beel she's fine, the braids are supposed to be tight." If im thinking black-hispanic twins? then they've got her set, no research needed. though Beel is still Beel, so Belphie does the detangling instead.

Levi would be able to help with a lace front and you can't tell me otherwise. It's the cosplay. I know this demon don't play when it comes to cosplay. Now if we're talking blasian levi, i feel like he could do the whole process w/o research but would have to slip into a hairstylist persona. Same goes for Levi as is, but once he does, seeing you trust him is enough to put his confidence through the rough. "Me? Really? You want a filthy, loser, shut-in, otaku like me to do your hair?" trust me he's good at it, would need to do some research to figure out styles and how but he's p good.

Asmo would do it no questions asked and fully eager too. Already has a list of styles ready, just needs you to pick though he definitely has his favorite.

The ones who give support:

Mammon is my silly mfer. my goofy ahh nigga. so he's here to keep her sane through the process, to keep her from doing the 'i remember you was conflicted' kendrick scream. ESPECIALLY when it's any hairstyle that has many parts/sections, like (god forbid) micro braids. Oh yes and although he is my black man, i like to think he only knows how to do his hair. Gotta keep up the appearance, after all his face card makes dollars so he doesn't have to make sense/cents. You'd let him comb through, detangle, your shit once and he immediately puts the brush down when you shout about the ouch because he fucked up the order.

Lucifer would literally pay someone to get it done for her and if they ever fucked up the process? May Lord Diavolo help the poor lesser demon, or human. Honestly I feel like he'd make a big deal out of it and even travel to the human world with her, especially if it made her more comfortable.

Belphie could do her hair... he just doesn't want to. He loves to touch whenever it's just out and mutter about how soft it is when it's washed then dried, but he is not dealing with that mass of hair. Hell even if im talking black-hispanic belphie?? he still wouldn't. He has Asmo do his hair for him, and as sloth why tf would he? So his purpose is to say something to encourage and reassure Beel, pull her out of dreams when Beel needs a break from styling or hold conversation with her to keep her awake while doing hair.

Their favorite hairstyles... and why! ☝🏾🤓:

Asmo loves french curl braids. They're very pretty, long, come in many colors and combinations, the curl!!! like, come on now. Versatile too because of how long it is, there's multiple ways to put it up and wear it. A second favorite is box braids but curling the ends when sealing them. Because it's just as pretty and versatile but sometimes shorter than the french curls.

Mammon likes loves fulani braids, bantu knots, jaded braids, triangle box braids, knot less braids, yarn braids and whenever she styles her fro into a shape. He love, love, love, loves seeing you being expressive with your hair. Second to that is whenever she wears a style that matches his. (yes actual black hairstyles, yes im talking about fan art.)

Beel doesn't have much of an opinion, she looks pretty no matter what in his eyes. However there are styles he thinks are cool or add to her cuteness like: afro, bantu knots, jaded braids, bubble braids, goddess braids

Belphie also doesn't have a preference, protective style or just out he loves it... BUT he likes it when it's easier for her to put a bonnet on or just lay down so he's biased to: twists, braids, faux locs, and box braids

Levi likes twists of all kinds and snake braids, or as i like to call it zig zag cornrows. He also likes whenever you just wear a wig/weave/sew-in because he has a hand in making it look like your actual hair, again cosplay lace front skills to the rescue. But also because he enjoys the ease of taking it off, depending on installment, and switching it out. Loves you being able to cosplay at the drop of a hat or embodying his favorite visual novel girls. "She gon' be black today." her and blasian levi say in unison.

Satan loves anything that shows off her natural hair. Not like adding hair ruins it for him, he loves her in any style but adores seeing it with little manipulation. With that said, afro or poof(s). Find it endearing and thinks she's adorable whenever she fashions the fro or twin poofs into cat ears. He also loves it when she does that with her box braids but just adores the floof.

Lucifer wouldn't say he has a preference but it's just known he loves elegance so: goddess braids, box braids with curls, french curl braids, micro braids, sew-in, lemonade braids, and nubian twists. Because he's pride, he loves to show her off and regardless of the style? whenever he decides to take her out and show her off he's gonna make sure she looks stunning.

“It is pretty nice here,” V said, and Kerry put his arm around him, pulling him a bit closer as he turned his head to look at him.

“And this is just the hotel! Wait ‘til you see the city. And the beaches! But we gotta drive a little to get to the better ones. Nothin’ beats the one in Tangalan anyway, but that’ll have to wait 'til next week…”

Kerry went on rambling about all they had planned, everything he wanted to show V, parties and events they could go to, the secret spots only he and maybe a handful of other people knew. Some of it all sounded quite adventurous, and V still struggled to imagine Kerry clambering through the jungle to get to some of these extra special hidden gems. But his excitement was downright infectious. Truly just adorable. V was relieved to see Kerry so genuinely happy again, too, the stress of the last weeks really had been weighing him down. Getting ready for this trip in the background had been his sole motivator for staying on top of the mountain of promo events for his album.

Just three more interviews before we can get on the plane. Just this one photoshoot, and then I can finally start packing my stuff. That one private show, that one industry party, that one red carpet, and then Lee can kiss my ass and we’ll fuck off across the Pacific.

Being here now finally, chilling at the hotel bar and recovering from the long flight, still felt somewhat surreal.

“… - and we really gotta go to Quinta Market later. Gonna cure your resentment to street food there once and for all.”

Kerry took a sip of his drink, then looked back at V, who had been watching him the whole time, a little tired and absentmindedly, but full of affection.

Kerry leaned over and gave him a quick kiss.

I didn't forget to take a pic of my setup at least this time XD I set this up at Denny's pool (free of concrete thankfully), because there is little distracting Night City scenery in the background that would destroy the illusion of this not being Night City xD But admittedly, the setup was a little rushed bc I just wanted to do some fluffy pics. I could actually spend hours setting up my scenes with all the awesome props I keep discovering o.o

Also: I had Kerry's summer vibes outfit ready since early June, but just didn't get around to doing anything with it until two weeks ago, AND THEN I didn't have time to edit the pics because other stuff kept grabbing my attention instead xD

But there is more to come, I have a whole lot more summer pics ready, all incredibly fluffy... because I need some fluff and knowing they have this in their future waiting for them, while on the side I'm writing the most angsty fic with constant dread and setbacks and death looming on the horizon, you know XD

First and foremost! I...am not good at talking fashion, but I do tend to scoop out characters' sense of fashion when I read/watch stuff (as well as making my own outfits for my OCs)! ...You know how hard it is to actually find unique Kasuga outfits? I love her penchant for simplicity, but it's like, okay, they all look the same except black or gray lmao

I will have to go with this one for the manga. It's REALLY adorable, from what little we do see of it (I don't think there was even a full-body pic of it) and the change in hairstyle really made a difference! I hope we get to see her in this, or other hairstyles, in the future!

Ok so this ask has put me into a group building spiral. I have chosen my roster and drafted a logo and I'm building the debut concept

PVE (Pink Vacancy Entertainment) presents:

I want to add a music note icon and sword icon with similar styling to the text so the icons combined can also be like a little mini logo.

The visual concept is y2k armored gals with colored transparent 2000's technology weapons and armor. Like the transparent mac book type look except cool armor outfits. Pretty ladies with sword.

I'd also want to do a winter sports videogame concept like 1080 avalanche or SSX Tricky as the concept B for the album.

Soundwise, I'd want to replicate the fast pace beats of those video game soundtracks with some Jungle Beat/Hip-Hop and Pink Pantheress type songs. I'd also want some early '00s sounds like Britney and NSYNC lol.

Here is our 10 gal roster. I stole six of JYP's girls (basically my 2 bias lines lol) and I broke it down into 3 medieval military themed sub units:

Park Jihyo - The hardest part about making the group was choosing a leader and I realized I'd be so nervous if anybody but Jihyo was the leader. Also I want to hear her on a Britney Spears type track!

Myoui Mina - Wow! A huge surprise right? But honestly Mina brings everything to a group. Vocals, dancing, elegance, humor, Minecraft. So choosing her is a real no brainer even besides the fact that she is the love of my life. She's the face of the group for sure! I didn't make her leader cause she needs her gaming laptop time.

Minatozaki Sana - Sana is another obvious choice to me, bias aside. She has such mass appeal and talent for entertainment that she would create so much success for the group just by existing. And girl groups gotta have someone who will just full on smooch the other members.

Hwang Yeji - The second in command. I imagine her as being in charge of the younger half of the group. JYP holds this gal back possibly most of all. Here at PVE, we are giving her all those louis vuitton deals and what not, cause that will translate to bigger success for her and the group (JYP is certified big dumb). Plus she is an S tier performer, leader and visual.

Shin Yuna - Yuna is obviously another of my all-time favorite gals but hear me out. After seeing her live I know now she is an all around ace. She can sing, dance, and you can tell when she is on stage she is loving life! Also her rap from 'Twenty' is one of the few K-Pop raps that i actually enjoy and doesn't make me wanna kms lol.

Lee Chaeryeong - Chaeryeong is honestly such a talented singer and dancer. She’s super sweet and charismatic interacting with the crowd! And she is so funny just by being herself in the ITZY reality content. One of my all time fave idols and a must have for the group.

Miyawaki Sakura - Sakura would be the leader of the third unit. She's an incredible multi talented idol and her vibes are immaculate. She's super funny and beautiful and sweet. Plus she and Mina could be gamer friends together. I feel like she would really kill they2k aesthetic with like some cat ear headphones like she likes.

Jeong JinSoul - Jinsoul's voice has always been really soothing to me. Like it always sits very nicely within the melody of the song. I want that kind of sound for choruses on softer and popier songs. And she is a visual queen so she is a lock for the group.

Cho Miyeon - I wanted a group with two ultra feminine gals in it. Plus her and Sana are already friends so it works out very nicely. She has an amazing voice and is one of the prettiest idols out there!

Lee Saerom - I am honestly just starting to get into Fromis 9. But I have watched enough performances to understand the Saerom has incredible stage presence and has an awesome physique! Her muscles and her charisma will add to the groups flavor for sure ^^.

Maybe i'll do some concept art later to illustrate some ideas. If you read this far you are allowed to be a hater on the group. It will help me prepare for the debut.

So someone asked me where I find my hypergamy groups. Tumblr didn’t give me enough characters for a full response so here it is. Bear with me I’m high rn but honestly these are my most philosophical moments if I can type them fast enough lol.

Ok so it really doesn’t matter. There’s no one specific platform that houses all the best creators. I used to think it was TikTok, then Reddit, then tumblr. The truth is each platform has good and bad, it’s your job to sift through them.

Reddit is for situational analysis. People explain their scenarios and other ppl give their suggestion on what you should do based off their experience or expertise. Since it’s anonymous things get really detailed which is good for you. If you have anxiety like me this is great because i can practice what I’d do so that I’m prepared for any niche scenario. Tumblr obviously has an anon question feature but it’s more one on one between the patron and the creator. It’s not like a giant group chat the way Reddit is. TikTok is great for girl tips. You know, the things your mom was supposed to teach you? Grooming, hygiene, fashion, etc; It’s a great place to physically turn yourself into the perfect girl/woman. You’ll be involuntarily fed different makeup styles and hairstyles you never even considered. I didn’t even know what a color analysis or kibbe body type was until TikTok but now that I do I feel like I’ve up leveled my look so much.

YouTube university will obviously be on this list. I love watching breakdowns and simplifications of high class topics like politics, economics, business, art, and philosophy. I love hyper fixating on niche subjects that I can bring up to make myself more interesting, adding a layer to my overall feminine aura. Fave YouTube channels are kidology, modern mba, Patrick Boyle, big think, Micheal sugrue, duke universtity department of political science, James jani, bloomberg originals, usuli institute.

Instagram ain’t got nothing for you.

Of course there’s going to be intersectionality. For example I see tumblr as a compilation of all these different platforms. It just depends on which creators you decide to follow.

3. What do you think is a missed opportunity/something you wish was done better?

Ahaa.ha I feel like you know the answer,, but I also don't feel like I can say what I think with much authority because I havent been able to get myself to read anything past lutf, some people said it got better with oyf but the hater in my heart doesn't want to believe that. I will suck it up and see the rest of their arc to end myself.. one day....

(Maybe this is tmi) but as someone who has had the devastating experience of being lied to about a beloved relatives terminal cancer, that plot point hit wayy too fuckin close to home for me to distance myself from it and view it as its own story. I know in my brain its just characters and everyone processes shit differently, but I think the conclusion of lutf was so bad and so out of line with how I perceived the situation, that it just. couldn't be fixed beyond that point, for me.

I know vbs are your babies and I do love them, just not in their source material. I don't mean to bring down people who do like their stories, I just have so many problems with the writing even outside of lutf that the ending of lutf sorta nailed the coffin on enjoying their canon for me personally

Is it necessarily bad writing? I guess not considering the genre and medium limitations? But it also felt lazy and unsatisfying after such a dramatic buildup. It sucks cause radders story is done SO WELL it felt like the devs just wanted to use vbs as a means to write their story instead of investing that same level of story writing into,, you know, their actual playable and marketable characters??????

I was a killer rock band gamer as a kid, that and wii sports resort were the only games I wanted to play FOR. YEARS. I have rock band to blame for my taste in 90s and 00s punk rock now.

What led me to prsk was bandori tho. I was tired of waiting on endori's bs scheduling because I wanted to tier pasupares Title Idol event, I saw some nijisanji en girlies promoting colorful stage and had seen tokishun tweeting about it so I thought hey, why not. Worst decision of my life probably 🫶

My first thought was Saito Ayaka because she's just So Me. She's my self-insert. Worlds most normal Shizuku fan. She looks like me, dresses like me, cries and falls to shizukus feet and praises the ground she walks on..

But really I think it's gotta be Ootori Hina or Akiyama Yuuki,, everything they are and do for Emu and Mizuki makes me want to put my fist through drywall..

Firstly thank you both, everyone who lends a hand on it works very hard on it, we know its not for everyone but hey as long as you are enjoying the story that's perfect!

As for the art stuff- I can't exactly tell you how to be “good” cuz “good" is subjective especially with art, can give you tips for improving what you already have though. 

1: Baseline never compare yourself to others just as a rule of thumb, be inspired sure but don't compare cuz everyone is on their own path and develops on their own time comparing will only get you frustrated with yourself. 

2: If you are stuck don't be afraid to ask for help/crit, a second pair of eyes might be able to see things you can't, not everyone is great at GIVING crit but usually if you ask other artists they can give you some tools to help. 

3: Find something you really like and just keep drawing it, draw as much of it as you want for as long as you want, eventually you will improve but you have to keep going. Art is like a muscle- it's literally built off muscle memory- gotta work it out for it to get stronger.

4: Do studies! Lots of studies! If there is a texture you want to master, find a bunch of images of that texture and try to replicate it. If there is a pose or body type you want to learn how to draw, find a bunch of references and break it down into stuff like simple shapes and lines. Study your fave artists style, see what their line weight is like, what brushes they use, what shapes and colors they enjoy, how they shade, lil quirks of their style and then practice by trying to draw your own character with all those aspects. 

Pretty much all artists get inspired by others, all styles are a mix of something an artist likes and wants to incorporate into their own work. We are kinda like lil magpies that see something shiny and go ohhh I like that I'm gonna nab this one part and do my own spin on it. Sooner or later you get a blend of every piece of inspo with your own personal flair cuz every style is unique in its own way. The more you draw all of these blended things the more you settle into your OWN style.

The never-ending hatred I feel for my abuser will always live in me because it's been over 16 years and he didn't pay for it

Hate is such a big word for me, too, with the case I have it's so hard for me to really feel hate for anyone unless it's super justified

Hm...if my logic in dreams is anything to go by, I would die for anyone I care about, family and friends- it's not something I think about much while awake, but I just know I've had nightmares in which I took a bullet for someone I loved, or fought to save the life of another so they could live while I died

ohhh this is a interesting one. Probs doing something for someone, like cooking a meal or planning out a date yk. Trying to do something special for someone is v romantic to me (if you mean it in a romantic way lmao)

Blue!

When i was younger my fav color was pink. Then as i got older, it was purple. And now its blue. Ig ive just worked my way through the bi flag lmao.

Why blue? Its just v nice, and you really cant go wrong with it. The sky is blue, and the sky is one of my fav things to look at. My eyes are blue to.

I answered this in a previous one, but i tend to collect bits of paper and put it in my journal! Reciepts, tickets, cards, stickers, shit i found on the ground, its goin in there!!

Welp, in general, I always hoped it would be read as simply *your own* favorite color, but I get that after such a complicated story, I can see how it feels perhaps not quite a your-your story anymore. Hopefully, you weren't taken out of the tale too much.

My own fave is green, and I like the humor of Linda loving the color of money best. I also love her incredible hot pink jumpsuit which makes me think she'd adore a bold, statement color like red.

When I made the banner for RoAR, I wanted the Birkin to be ambiguous but that's hard to do without removing the iconic shape. I just filtered a white bag with pastel shades that reflect some of Ransom's outfits and the sets. None of them are meant to be the one-true color of *your bag.*
