i tried the vapour link and tutorial you linked and everything was good up to the point where i wanted to encode and then i got an error about video file. what do i to prevent that?

Hi Anon! There are 2 main errors I’ve seen in vapoursynth. I’ll explain some fixes I’ve found that have worked sometimes for me under the cut

You can try and view what one you are getting by pressing encode -> preview:

The first one is about clip height. I usually encounter this one when I’m giffing Instagram reels. I forget the exact math but if you can re-render your clip so the file height is divisible by 2 it should work.

If your clip is an .mp4 you can do this by loading your clip in photoshop and adjusting the canvas size to be divisible by two. There will be some transparency on the top or bottom of your video but it will work just fine. Then just hit export -> render video in PS and save your me clip where you want it.

The second error I’ve encountered is related to the video encoding. If you can get the VS resized to pull up with your clip playing there is sometimes a work around for this error too.

If you look in the output folder of your VS there should be a folder in there called video_cut. If you click in there and see a cut_resizer.mp4 that’s the the clip you inputed in mp4 format. You can copy this clip and move it into your main VS folder and drag it onto the script to use in place of your regular clip. Then just repeat the cut_resizer step for the other clips you want from the video.
