0ooh now I’m curious of the diancie post.
man i am too. i wish i remembered enough about it to go searching or google dorking for it or something but i genuinely only remember like three things. it was about xy and the connections to sv i believe, diancie was the big hinging factor on which it based its theories, and it was incredibly long. lemme just go see if i liked it tbh
i did lol and i just reread it. here it is:
it's very long. here's my take (though you should probably read the post before reading my take otherwise it won't make much sense):
the main thing i'm noticing is that they talk about the AZ weapon being what created area zero (or at least the bigass crater that EXPOSES area zero) (wait… AZ weapon… Area Zero weapon… ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?) but then someone else in the notes mentions the crater is much older than the 3000-year-old war. i don't know if that's true—the underdepths are two million years old according to bulbapedia, but that's just the shit underground. it could've been a cave system before the crater was created above it as a result of the big ol' laser. and then the laser just exposed it? the emperor of paldea tried to explore it two thousand years ago [src] for some rumored treasure at the bottom, which would've been a millennium after it was created if we assume it was the weapon, which means the war would've been very old news to that emperor. but that exploration apparently either bore no fruit or something Dangerous was down there or something, which led to the empire's downfall a thousand years later. but that's a big time skip! did it take them a thousand years to explore it? did they go in, realize what an ordeal it was gonna be, and then the Great Age of Exploration starts while they all scramble to get that treasure down there? and apparently they sucked ass at it, because it led to the empire's downfall. and then 200 years before the events of the game (800 years after the empire crumbled from trying to do this very thing), someone finally made it to the bottom of the crater. and i guess those are the guys who set up the research stations you find all over the upper areas of area zero when you explore it in game. turo/sada created the area zero lab up top, and seemed to bounce off the back of heath and his team's research. and apparently they did a lot of research down there and continued long after the first generation of researchers died, because terastal was only discovered 140 years later (60 years before the events of gen 9). however… i'm also noticing that area zero didn't seem to be populated At All before the events of 10 years ago when sada/turo created the time machine to yoink in all the paradox pokémon. of course, the post already talks about how paradox pokémon's existence is (supposedly) just a mutation from the energy expelled from the weapon, similar to diancie, but if that's the case, then what happened in the past to the pokémon that sada pulls in from the time machine? were they from when the weapon was fired? why was area zero unpopulated before that point? it just doesn't track. of course, we also know that sada/turo only ever gets the information on how to summon paradox pokémon from briar's book, which you get from briar during the sv dlc after exploring area zero (and subsequently Give to sada/turo at the crystal pool in the postgame, which is how they initially get it), which has all the paradox pokémon which she writes about in it, but they're only there because sada/turo created the time machine to pull them in to populate the area, which they wouldn't have done without briar's book writing about them, which she wouldn't have written if they weren't there… which explains why they're called paradox pokémon. weird, huh?
