I love the way this was worded, like I'm one of the siblings on Succession and the press has cornered me outside my penthouse to ask if I'll be releasing a statement on my family's latest scandal. Hehehe anyways.

Sorry but I just don't understand how anyone is shocked. Truly what has that woman ever done to successfully convince people that this is out of character for her. Like I don't want to diminish anyone's pain or anything but I see all these stans on here and over on Twitter in all this distress, having their very first epiphanies like "Hold on . . . does Taylor . . . suck??" And I kinda just have to chuckle at them cause like bless your hearts babes, but omg catch UP 😭

Lol because 1) she is a severely emotionally stunted person who thinks edgy British "bad boys" are hot like she's 12 years old, 2) she has no true deeply-held moral principles outside of issues that directly affect herself, and 3) truthfully, she seems to be suffering from a serious crisis of identity after the end of the longest and most significant romantic relationship of her life, and in my opinion is pretty clearly desperate to prove something to the world/her ex/herself.

The first reason is cringe but not news to longtime viewers, the second reason is pathetic but also not news (to those who can be honest with themselves), and the third is . . . understandable in some sense, but not pitiable enough to make me willing to humor this insufferable little episode she's having. I wish her luck on this humiliating rebound journey, but she is gonna have to walk that road on her own.

Normally, I always roll my eyes when people make these kinds of jokes, but given the circumstances I feel justified in saying: I can't wait to hear the breakup song about him, sis 🤡

So it a Max x reader smau where the reader is a mega pop star. Like Taylor Swift big and all eyes are on her. She gets invited to an F1 race by Redbull and joins their after party and gets to meet Max. Unfortunately Max is still dating K*lly. Reader is completely enamored by Max and writes break up with your girlfriend, I’m bored literally released it the next week. Everyone is losing their fucking mind trying to figure out who it is. Max knows it’s about him and he’s playing it cool and breaks it off with K*lly and starts secretly dating reader. Reader drops an album full of love/spicy songs like Gorgeous, Lover, Dress, 34+35, Positions etc etc and fucking hard launches them. Thanks!! Cooper looks up from the television at the sound of the floor creaking, " what're you doin' up? " your southern drawl thick with sleep. his eyes meet your form, standing tiredly in the doorway to the living room in your silk nightgown.

Cooper quickly turns the volume on the television down, one of his movies playing. " was i too loud? i'm sorry honey, " he offers, watching you rub your eyes and yawn as you make your way to him.

" you weren't, jus' missed you 's all. " you yawn, melting into the couch as you lay down, your head in his lap. he sighs, a warm yet tired smile pulling at his lips as you settle down. " what're you watchin'? " another yawn.

your tired eyes watch the screen for a second, catching on to the scenery of 'Under The Covers'. " 'course you're watchin' this, " you smile, nuzzling against his thigh. he wraps an arm around your shoulder, calloused hand massaging gentle circles into your skin.

you knew Cooper loved Under The Covers, mainly, cause you two starred in it together — you were the female lead in it.

it was his character's goal to seduce your character in order to learn company secrets and get closer to the man he was after. though, in the end his character falls in love with yours, disregarding the operation to get away together,

it was where the pair of you properly talked for the first time, actually. sure you two had crossed paths in the studios while crossing sets, but you had never sat down long enough to have a meaningful conversation.

and here the two of you are, happily together, rarely apart from each other. he sighs happily as his eyes return to the screen, one of your big scenes playing. " what else would i be watching? " he chuckles, giving your shoulder a gentle squeeze before trailing his fingers to your hair, carefully combing the strands that lay across his lap.

you practically melt into his lap and the couch as his fingers lovingly scratch across your scalp. your eyes drift shut at the pleasure. " y'know we have other movies t'gether right? " letting out another long yawn as you curl up more against him.

" i know, but this one means the most to me, " he smiles tiredly, the rhythmic massaging of his fingers and the tangle of your hair around them slowly tiring him.

the two of you did many movies after your first, varying from the same type of spy movies, to westerns, to plain romance movies. and you loved them all dearly. you don't think you had a favourite that you did with him, you loved them all equally in your heart.

the ' tik! ' of the old grandfather clock and the rhythmic movements of Cooper's fingers slowly lull you to sleep, cheek pressed against his warm thigh as he tiredly watches the movie. it isn't long before he drifts to sleep either..

so the film's role of the housekeeper at falbury farm (which jane inherited from her late father) who is then Around, helping out, apparently having known the sisters at least from childhood and having fun facts about it, and going from disapproving towards the whole notion of thee performance arts to implicitly having dropped that due to supporting jane from backstage, and is basically like some older family member, is presumably supplanted by pop falbury, who could then do all that & more, makes sense. but we get An housekeeper as an ensemble part lol

“I hope I got everything right…” you mumble to yourself as you walk through the halls of Hybe’s building.

That day, the boys noticed how hazy and soft you had gotten, so after gorging your hand all nicely patched up, decided to stop fuzzing over you…for now. So they started talking business. And you completely believed them when they told you they were in need of a new assistant. Of course they had Sejin and a handful of assistants, but they said they were in need of someone to take care of more personal requests. After meeting you in the café and seeing how well you worked, they thought you would be perfect for the job. They even told you how they had loved your coffee more than any of the other baristas from the little shop from the building!

Of course, you fell right through it.

You were a little skeptical at first, but as soon as they started praising your skills, you couldn’t stop yourself from blushing a little and accepting their deal with a soft smile. It was not your fault!! It was their voices…and the way they would give you camouflaged grounding words that just made your life easier and calmed your anxious brain. If they were so nice all the time, you thought, maybe this job wouldn’t be as bad as you imagined. And it seemed you weren’t getting fired anytime soon, or that’s what they told you when they heard a little of one of your nervous ramblings when they brought out a non-disclosure-agreement and the contract. When you saw the pay, you could only feel even surer about accepting the job.

And here you were. Your first official day.

First you had to go through the front desk to pick up the ID card and pass the boys had asked specially for you. You received a couple of weird looks from the woman on the reception, but you didn’t have time to think about it since your phone chimed on your pocket. They all had asked for your number, since it would be way easier and faster to communicate their requests. So now you had each of their contacts, as well as a couple group chats they had added you too and sent many funny memes and stickers that made you feel more at ease.

You too your phone out to see a message.

I could get used to hearing her call me sir…but that thought stayed in Hoseok’s mind as he sighed.

You move swiftly, preparing the drinks you had been ordered, with a soft blush on your cheeks from Hoseok’s words. Calling him Hobi felt much better, and your absolutely loved it. Even though you weren’t sure if it was appropriate…he said it was alright, didn’t he? So there shouldn’t be a problem.

As soon as the drinks were ready, you put the lids on the plastic cups and started making your way towards the studio. You were still a bit nervous, not used to working with such important and handsome people. Not ever in a million years would you imagine yourself in such a position. The boys had made their biggest effort to make you feel comfortable, but you still needed a bit more time. You made it to the studio with a the vibrant letters “Hope World”

You used your free hand to knock on the door, and you felt a little stupid when you saw a doorbell in the panel for the password. With a sighed, you pressed the little button and the door flew open almost immediately, a smiling Hoseok welcoming you.

“Hello pretty girl, you are fast walker aren’t you?” you smiled shyly to the pet name, and you looked at him through your lashes.

“A bit…I-I've been told I walk quickly when I’m nervous” you admit rubbing your nape, making him coo.

“Aigoo, we can’t have that, can we? Come inside” you were about to protest, not wanting to interrupt his work, but he sent you such an intense look that made you shut your mouth and follow him inside the studio and watch as he sat on the desk to save a file he was working on. “I forgot to give you the password so you wouldn’t have to ring. Sorry about that.”

“No no! Don’t be sorry Hoseok-nim! I understand you wouldn’t want to give such an important information to just anyone! It’s already a lot for you let me come in here and…” You speak as you shake your free hand to articulate, starting another one of your nervous rambling but stopping abruptly.

Hoseok’s chair turned around slowly, very slowly. And he set his eyes on you.

You felt electricity go down your spine and something tighten inside your belly. He was looking at you with a stone gaze, the same one you had seen in a few dance practice videos were one of the meme bees made a mistake or he wasn’t happy with the choreography. One of his hands was holding tightly to the armrest of the chair, and the other was was splayed over his thigh. Dangerously close to his crotch. You removed your gaze immediately when you realized you were staring, but not fast enough for him not to notice. He smirked a bit, but his eyes didn’t soften, raising his chin before speaking.

“What did you just call me?” Your eyes widened as you realized your mistake, but he didn’t even let you even open your mouth before he clicked his tongue disapprovingly. “Here I was, thinking you were a good girl, seems like I was mistaken, hmm?”

You start to panic, your breathing hitching a bit too often as you look at him with big puppy eyes. You don’t want him to think you are bad! You weren’t bad, you just had a little slip, but it was enough too had your lip trembling. You wanted to be good for him, and for the others. You felt just like the first day you met them in their office, filled with this weird sensation of wanting to do what they say, follow their orders and hear their praises afterwards.

And it was so weird! You barely new them! But somehow, you felt comfortable enough to allow yourself this feelings of wanting to please. To receive their orders.

To give control up.

“No no! S-sir…H-Hobi! H-Hobi!” you can’t help but stutter as your rub your feet together nervously, looking at him with sad regretful eyes “I’m sorry, I-I really sorry. I won’t do it again…I-I’ll listen! I can be good! I promise! I’m sorry” You look at him pitifully, with your lips tucked in a trembling pout.

And he uses most of his self control not to kiss that pretty little pout on your lips and make you repeat his name as sweetly as you had just done for him.

But he didn’t. He got up and walked close to you, fixing a strand of your hair behind your ear and cupping you jaw, tightening his grip a tiny bit when you tried to lower your gaze. His hand was warm, and his slender fingers felt good against your skin.

Your mouth fell a little open, and he took advantage of that and shook your face a little bit, helping to ground you again. Your tense body relaxes and your cheeks blush softly, a tiny happy smile appears on your face as you feel warm taking over your whole body, specially your lower belly, but your smile disappears when you shiver softly as soon as you feel his fingers graze your earlobe, and he can’t help but notice the way your bones vibrate, holding back a whimper.

Oh, now he wants to hear it.

He grazes your earlobe again, using his thumb and index finger to slightly pinch it as the rest of his fingers caress your neck. Goosebumps appear all over your skin and a whimper comes out of your lips, loud and clear. He wishes he had the microphones from the studio recording so he could capture such a sound, as it comes out of you again when he repeats the motion.

“Hmm, you are sensitive, aren’t you?” you can’t do much more than nod tiredly, cuddling a little bit against his grip that remains on your jaw. You were feeling tingly all over your body. “It’s alright, pretty girl. How could I not forgive you when you apologized so prettily? Such a good girl for me…”

You smile, openly cuddling against his hand as he caressed your neck one last time, before letting you. Not without making sure you came back to earth, even though way more calmed. He took his drink from the plastic holder you brought and put it back in your hand with Yoongi’s order.

“Even though I would love to have you here, I need to get back to work, and I’m sure hyung could use the distraction, so why don’t you act the treat and take this to him before the ice melts?” he smirked as you nodded obediently, a happy blush decorating your cheeks.

“Yes, Hobi” you flashed a smile at him as you waved softly, and he gave a small encouraging tap on your lower back (a tiny bit lower than he should have, but no one had to notice that)

“Oh, and the password from here is 940218, so come back whenever you want, peach. And don’t say again you are ‘just anyone’, because I assure you, you are not”

Why should I, a web developer who uses mostly Python and JS, learn Rust?

Aside from cargo-mommy, obviously.

(Seriously though I have been meaning to learn a lower-level language but what's the benefit of rust over like, C++?)

There's a lot to unpack in this question! For web development, you can get a LOT of performance and maintainability ouf of Rust compared to Python/JS. Particularly if your backends are CPU-bound there's so much to gain. But beyond that, the type safety of the language in addition to the static analysis of the compiler and clippy linting provide a fantastic foundation for maintainable, quality code that I've not seen in any other language in my 25 years as a programmer. When I was still hacking C regularly, I would turn on ALL the compiler warnings, use multiple free and commercial static analysis tools, valgrind, etc., all to do what you get out of the box with rust (and even those tools don't do for C/C++ what the rust tools do for Rust). It's hard to explain just how helpful these tools are if you're not familiar with them; it's a lot more than just "this variable isn't used", it's "you can write the code more elegantly / with better performance using this construction oh and if you're using an LSP I'll *make the change for you* at the press of a button" and there are dozens of lints like that. Seriously, the tooling for Rust is absolutely second to none. The tooling for Rust is better than the claims MS makes about Visual Studio. Specific to the language itself, Rust is so much more expressive compared to Python or JS. Particularly compared to Python's utterly anemic functional programming support, Rust shines as an example of what a language should be capable of. This thoroughly considered design permeats the language and the standard library, and many popular third-party crates have similarly excellent design. You can get *some* of these features with mypy, pylint, and so on, but the quality and quantity of diagnostics and suggestions provided by the stock Rust tools is just so superior. The tooling Rust provides has ruined other languages for me.

Specifically for the web development domain, there are some pretty lovely crates for that on the backend! I don't know the specifics, particularly how they compare to e.g. django or flask or the like, but I do know they're well-respected in the community. You can also compile rust to webasm and deploy that on your frontend to realize all the above benefits of Rust and also the performance of webasm, all while using a much higher level language than webasm itself.

Why Rust over C++? See above, the tooling is incredible. cargo is so far ahead of tools like conan and cmake that you can't even sensibly compare them. Rust comes with built-in package management, dependency management, project management, build tooling, a test framework, and so much more. Besides this, there's the obligatory, consuetudinary at this point, "no memory errors in Rust" thing. You're not going to have to worry about derefrencing a NULL pointer in Rust (... under most circumstances; as a low level compiled language you can still access memory directly, so it's possible, but not in >99% of code you write). There's just entire classes of footguns that are impossible in Rust. Yes, C++ is implementing some of these features, like Optional<T>, but that's the thing--*starting* to. These features have been core to Rust since the beginning. The community for Rust, at least in my experience, is the most welcoming tech community I've ever been a part of. There's a meme that it's full of trans folks and it's not just a meme, it's true. The stereotype of the trans girl Rust hacker exists for a reason.

I should point out that a lot of folks say rust compiles are slow but that's just not been my experience. I've been building things from source for 25 years and rust is just as fast as C++ if not faster (and if you're using clang, it uses all the same underlying LLVM libraries after parsing to LLVM IL so there's not much difference at that point).
