-They initially planned a bigger State Of The Role, but the LA Fires threw everything out of wack. Details were changing up until the night before they actually shot this update.

-Next week, February 6th, is the FINAL episode of Campaign 3, clocking in at 8.5 hours. The fires started on the day they were set to shoot the finale, so it's split into two parts since they recorded the second half later on. -The cast will be doing a live tale gate party at 6pm PST / 9pm EST leading into the finale. Yes, live live. On Youtube/Twitch/Beacon.

EXU: Divergence is the next mini-campaign DM'd by Brennan with players Jasmine Don, Celia Rose Gooding, Alex Ward, Liam O'Brien, and our sweet boi Matthew Mercer finally gets to play again! This begins on Feb 13th

Campaign 3's Wrap-Up will air March 13th at 7pm PST / 10pm EST. They'll be taking questions from Youtube, Twittch, and Beacon about all things Exandria from all campaigns.

There was no mention of C4 or The Mighty Nein's animated series, but they assure us they have much much more to talk about in the future for 2025.

Talking as players outside the game is an incredibly important part of having good PC/PC D&D relationships, and obviously the characters involved in the relationship talking to each other in meaningful ways is crucial, but I think the importance of talking in-game in depth to other people is really underrated, in that it not only tells the other player what your character is feeling without having to reveal it in-game to them, but also serves to engage other characters in the story and deepen those platonic bonds to the point where they might even serve as confidants or wingmen. To give a bunch of examples and what they achieved:

Vax telling Gilmore he didn't want to string him along made it clear out of game that his feelings towards Keyleth were his priority, even though it happened where the other characters were not able to hear.

Similarly, Vex giving her blessing eventually after her initial resistance signaled to Liam that this would not be a major break between the twins.

Vax asking Vex what she intended to do about her feelings for Percy served not only as an opportunity for her to voice them to someone; it also serves as a big green light for Taliesin as Percy to kiss Vex later that episode (which he had already from Vex's resurrection ritual, but it underscores it).

Pike talking about Scanlan with Keyleth and Vex allows her to make it clear that she does ultimately like a lot of things about him despite sometimes being annoyed, and her talking to him through her earring while Scanlan is very much not there but Sam is at the table also serves as this kind of green light.

Jester asking Veth about kissing in relationship to Fjord lets Travis know where Jester is at and invests Veth in-game in the relationship.

Caleb asking Jester if she's "sweet on [Fjord]" lets her openly reassess her feelings after an intense arc and also indicates in-game that Caleb has noticed.

Beau waiting to hear the sound of thunder signals to Ashley (who was not at the table but who was presumably staying updated on events) that Beau has feelings for Yasha; it also allows those playing Yasha (often Matt for pure RP and Travis in combat) to return that flirting, since the baseline was already established.

Possibly the most obvious example, but Beau and Fjord's conversation on Rumblecusp not only clarifies to the whole table where everyone is (opening the door, for example, for the scenes in the beer garden a few episodes later of Caleb having Fjord and Jester dance together and Caduceus encouraging Yasha to pursue Beau) but very much serves as a green light to Ashley and Laura respectively. This is then mirrored by them talking after Beau has asked Yasha on a date and Fjord and Jester have kissed, and everyone involved can "debrief" with their partners not present in-game.

As mentioned, this is mostly about PC/PC relationships because PC/NPC is an inherently different dynamic mechanically though still should be a conversation, but Veth describing Yeza and Jester asking Caleb about his feelings about Essek both give Matt clues for playing these NPCs and how things might be received.

FRIDA mentioning their crush on FCG to Deanna means it's not a complete surprise to Sam, since it is a very sudden relationship, and lets him prepare and decide how FCG would feel in the moment, and also establishes how Deanna will feel about it.

Similarly in the C3 Uthodurn arc, Fearne going to Chetney about Deanna is an incredibly good move from Ashley (to the point that talking about this is what led me to write this whole post). It lets Travis play out where Chetney is. It lets Aabria therefore hear not only where Chetney is, but also know that Fearne is potentially interested. It establishes a ton of the dynamics for a relationship that out of game everyone knows will not have a full campaign to play out since one of the characters involved is a guest. And finally, it signals to Christian as FRIDA what the situation is in case Deanna confides in them.

Sometimes i’ll remember that moment in the dnd campaign where (spoilers) tony (jon) tries to sacrifice himself and it basically goes:

*everyones shocked and a little appalled hed do such a thing*

Jon despairs that his choice nearly got everyone killed (and did in fact kill zephyr, james’ character) and everyone gives him shit for it

Mariah tries to tell him its okay

Jon pleads in the comments for people to donate so his friends will still play with him (bonus: his smile when they did it)

And lastly Everyones screams in excitement when he successfully saved himself and they managed to get everyone out of the campaign alive.

P.S the moment everyone shouted at Jon to put his little fly hat back on lives rent free in my head.

Ashton is… the epitome of someone who thought they would’ve died by now.

They don’t hesitate to make sacrifices; their self-worth is at an all time low. He has a hard time describing how he’s feeling, because he thinks no one in the Hells understands him, especially after this shard debacle and losing the trust of his group.

The Nobodies left him behind. The Hells are adamant that they wouldn’t, but how many times has Ashton heard that? From the Hishari, from the Nobodies…

So he feels like he has nothing to lose.

my new scum & villainy campaign (aka Choir) starts in full swing this friday! so to celebrate, here's the crew of invariant ship designation brevity, ready for their first job. they're just a few extremely loyal (for now :)))))) representatives of the evil empire. i'm sure they won't cause any problems at all!

Here are the the DC Princesses we have in the Neverafter AU and their powers so far!

> Talia al Ghul as Sleeping Beauty

Although currently trapped in magical slumber, Talia retains a level of awareness over all that happens to her body and the magical thorny vines wrapped around the ruins of her castle. Her control over her vines grows day by day as she uses them to sense her environment and tangle around her enemies. The vines spread all over the castle and into the surrounding forest, an unsuspected guardian that guides or harms whoever may wander in her nest.

Mia owns three magical dresses (sun, moon and stars). Before every fight, she will tear off little threads off of each dress and tie them around each arrow in her quiver, giving her enchanted trick arrows with various abilities. The sun arrows creates blinding bursts of white and golden flames impossible to extinguish through non-magical means that fade out on their own after one minute or after running out of matter to consume. The moon arrow induces a violent psychic attack which traps the victim in a dreamless sleep or, fail this, vivid nightmarish hallucinations. The star arrow induces a state of compliant euphoria that can drive the victim to consider the first person they see upon being hit as the most extraordinary, perfect and worthy of adoration and worship creature for up to a day.

A powerhouse of a trained fighter, Rose fights with a magical glass armour that allows her to turn invisible and a dagger made from the glass shard that broke when she snapped her glass slipper. Later on, she also gains a large diamond sword, the sword of Clairvoyance which can cut through anything. She also used to have precognitive abilities granted to her by the artificial eye the Stepmother (Slade Wilson) gave her, which allowed her to glimpse into the Narrative, but she took it off because it was destroying her mind.

> Koriand'r as Rapunzel

A magical princess, Koriand'r's powers were first assumed to come from her fiery, magical hair, which was largely experimented to increase its power by Mother Gothel; however, after an earthquake damaged the tower she was trapped in and sunlight touched her, she escaped and realised she drew her pyrokinesis, empathetic healing, and newfound flight, strength, resistance and starbolts from the Sun due to having been fed the magical healing sunflower herb as a baby.

Having learnt to defend herself from the youngest age, Cassandra is a fierce fighter, who defeats her enemies with her martial prowess and two sharp-pointed, magical knitting needles gifted to her by the Fairy Queen. She also carries around a broken, magical lantern granted to her by the Fairy Queen, which, once repaired, allows her to trap magical fires and release them on her enemies. Sometimes nicknamed "the cemetery witch", she wanders through graveyards and battlefields in search for little fires only she can see, remnants of the lives of the revenants and the dying which she can trap in her little lanterns to grant them peace in the afterlife and cradle this fire.
