Predicting where our non-tos people go. Mind you, these are not things i necessarily want, just where i think they might end up:

Una: she becomes a head at starfleet academy or some job that has a lot more publicity. For some reason my mind is going to miss congeniality 2 when sandra bullock’s character cant be an FBI agent anymore because she gets recognized and ends up being the poster girl for it instead (is that too old a reference for this site? Lol). I feel like Starfleet won’t give her command because of the whole ilyrian thing so she figures she’ll recruit people who will make a difference instead and change it from within. OR they resolve the Ilyrian situation and she becomes the ambassador for them.

La’an: becomes either section 31, or the time travel protector people. (I’d love if she got james back tbh, but i don’t see that happening as that story line concluded pretty neatly but it’d be cool if she had some long lasting love interest cause that girl deserves a family)

Ortegas: dies heroically, unfortunately. I just don’t see her leaving the enterprise on her own. I think they’ll peal her cold dead ass off that helm seat before she hands the keys to sulu

M’benga: included because he’s no longer the chief medical officer. Either he steps down and takes an extended leave because he can’t handle it anymore, or best case scenario he goes soul searching to find himself in the wilds of the universe because he doesn’t know what he wants anymore

Pelia: possibly dies, and i only say that because shes a character who’s lived so long. Or she ascends like that guy in lower decks (“why is the koala smiling?!? What does he know?!”)

Sam: obviously we know he dies on Deneva. But i think he takes the research job because he can’t do a five year mission away from his family and it absolutely does not have anything to do with the new captain being his annoyingly perfect brother 😉

Batel: i think they’re going to have to kill her or possibly have her end her own life at the end of this season through some kind of sacrifice because she lost her mind and was a threat to the ship and pike will give some final log that doesn’t mention that part :/

So im picturing Sam and his science buds are doing science things and Sam will just randomly bring up some annoying thing his bro did back in grade school and all the scientists groan now every time his name gets mentioned (except spock who’s gathering intel). Like:

Sam: This species of alien used to harvest their crops using an intricate pulley system…reminds me of the time Jim made a pulley system for the 1st grade science fair and completely over shadowed my fertilization project, EVEN though it was remarkably better science but of course it didn’t have the unnecessary flare for the dramatics like his did!

*collective science groan* *spock thinking a pulley system is remarkable engineering for a kid*

i think the only reason Wesley got away with his Shatner impression in A Space Hour (for me at least) is because when he’s actually playing Shatners Kirk, hes not doing the impression and, in fact, has surprised me by picking up on the good bits of shatners acting. Like, the impression wasn’t even of shatner at this point, its the exaggerated pop culture version. Im not saying shatner hasn’t gone crazy haha

But heres a good example of why context is important. If you’d never seen TOS before you might think this is corny AF and overly dramatic (well it kind of is, but its for a good reason haha). he’s literally not Kirk here. This is a mentally ill person who can shape shift and he’s not getting what he wants so he’s throwing a tantrum. So yeah, sometimes Shatners acting is a bit bombastic, but its not completely uncalled for is all im saying.

this is the real Kirk to me and what Shatner brought to his character. He’s playful and romantic and with a (sometimes) quiet intellect. And thats what Wesley is bringing too.

Anyways, im not really sure what the point of this is. I just love how they’re doing Kirk. So its a wesleyKirk appreciation post haha

Season 4 wrap up

I think arguably their best season and i remember when i was younger thinking it was one of their worsts lol. I think a lot of their jokes went over my head at the time. Also, i think i fully hate Think Tank whoch really lowered the average score.

This was truly the season of self awareness. There were so many jokes about themselves and the mentalist that i have to wonder how many psych people went to watch the mentalist afterwards. They also gave a little shoutout to Leverage and i think later they shoutout Rizzoli and Isles so at least one writer was watching TNT.

I dont have any major wrap ups for this season. There was a lot more Gus which was great. Dulé is a power house and an immensely talented man (and oh boy did young me have such a crush on him in Holes 😆)

I think we’re already slipping into Shawns inevitable dumbing down unfortunately and ngl i already kind of miss his casual brilliant moments from season 1. Dont get me wrong, i love silly shawn, but i also like when hes lowkey brilliant. ill get into it more at a later time once it really solidifies.

I rewatched this season so slowly i forgot to keep track of random things shawn and gus know! Uh…lets see…

-Shawn obviously has survival skills and is practically an escape artist.

-he has basic carpentry and plumbing skills to fix up the fluff and fold

-he can make his elbow look like a butt

Gus’s niche interests include hedge funds, acapella groups, and gold mining.

I was going to put this in a tier ranking like i usually do, but i found it easy enough to simply list it. So, heres my S4 episode ranks with a brief description of why.

1. Mr. Yin Presents… (obvi)

2. Shawn takes a shot in the dark (ANGST)

3. High top fade out (DULÉ)

4. Extradition british columbia (canada, the beginning of Pierre/Shawn)

5. High noon-ish (fun theme, lassie backstory)

6. Thrill seekers and hell raisers (great guest actors, fun gus/shawn dynamic)

7. Bollywood homicide (again, fun theme)

8. The devil is in the details…and in the upstairs bedroom (fun theme, and on point Exorcist parody)

9. He dead (“hes allergic to rich white people” *gus nods*)

10. A very juliet episode (guy was bland, but nice to focus on juliet. Shawn got to look cool and dumb at the same time)

11. Death is in the air (judd nelson nearly put this higher but they never brought him back so…the scientists reaction to being called doc brown was cute af)

12. The head the tail the whole damn episode (Jeri Ryan deserved better like always. Fun but forgettable ep)

13. You cant handle this episode (a surprisingly flat ep which is more disappointing than anything. Im glad they bring john cena back tho)

14. Shawn gets the yips (overall enjoyable, but needed more focus on lassie)

15. Lets get hairy (jokes fall a bit flat, and while the crime is insane, i often skip this ep)

16. Think tank (crime was boring, and i skip it)

Onward to season 5!
