Woke up this morning ruminating on the friendships that have ended this year.

It’s been a year of radical change.

The thing is… for most of my twenties, I was apologizing and changing too - I was trying so hard to repair in relationships…

But it didn’t work out.

I had a lot of disconnection with myself as I clung onto connections with other people. I was too afraid of not being valued for exactly who I was or am (which is an imperfect human being).

This time around I’m focused on repairing the relationship with myself.

A lot of people are upset at me or with me. It only makes sense - I didn’t really express before how fucking upset I was with them. (Resentful black-and-white talking) almost like my feelings didn’t really matter and they didn’t want to do anything about it.

Anyway.

Results so far: Hurts like hell, losing people, finding more clarity and confidence in myself, tackling my own toxicity, absolutely steadfast that I cannot and would not go back to how it was before

Thinking about Murtagh and Eragon talking about Eragon being a dragon rider. Murtagh hints at his jealousy, things progressively escalate to the point of Eragon saying that he really doesn’t like the position of leadership he’s in. He doesn’t like being away from his loved ones. Given how him being chosen by the Eldunarya destroyed parts of his family and his hometown and threw him into a war with so much death, especially of people he respected, he would have liked to live without that. Saphira’s existence and their bond is one of his only comforts. That and the fact that he’s helping to bring the dragons back.

Murtagh is surprised by this. He realizes that his assessment of Eragon was mostly false. Eragon isn’t a proud gloating leader. He’s a humble (young) man who carries an undesired role on his shoulders because no one else was there to take it from him. He later realizes that Eragon is a nurturer. He nurtures relationships, nurtures the land, gives a safe place for those whose lives have been upended by fate. He wonders… what is his own role.

He later apologizes to Eragon for his false assumptions. Eragon accepts his apology.

who meets you when you first turn, and you're so innocent and naive; he can't help but pity you... Jing Yuan has been a vampire for centuries, and he finds you drinking blood from deceased bodies and wild animals, much like how he did when he was first transformed.

"Poor thing..." He mutters, dark amber eyes staring down into your muddy ones.

He takes you home, gives you blood packs from donors, and feeds you succulent meats with high iron content, and as many sweets as you desire. One day, he gets too close. It's been a decade of you living in his manor, but one misstep, one misunderstanding leads to him gently kissing your pulse point, and gently biting into the tender flesh.

The moment is far too intimate, so brazen and unlike anything else you've experience with him thus far. You knew he felt something towards you, but he hasn't explicitly said it, leaving you with doubts.

"Get off." You snarl, eyes wide and chest heaving as you push him off.

"Dearest--?" He looks hurt, not unlike a kicked pet.

"No. I am not your dearest, I am your roommate , not... not whatever you assumed we were." You feel your eyes burn.

Jing Yuan can only watch as you walk away, locking yourself in your bedroom. The next morning, no fluffy pancakes with warm soymilk rest at his nightstand. He passes by your bedroom, only to find your body curled into a small heap in the corner.

He coos your name softly, trying to catch your attention.

"Go away." Your eyes are glassy, hiccups riddling your weak frame.

"Not until I know you're okay, I'm sorry about last night. I assumed wrong." Jing Yuan stays by your door, opening it a bit further.

You throw a pillow at him, but he catches it, and tucks it under his arm.

"I will not leave. Not until we talk," He strides in, standing a few feet before you, "I should not have kissed you. Feeding from you--attempting-- to feed from you was irresponsible, and not at the level of intimacy I assumed we developed. It was my assumptions that had hurt you." He knelt down, trying to see your expression.

you curl up more, hiding in the recesses of a robe he lent you long ago, a relic from the days when you still had some humanity left. It hurts, it burns so much you might combust.

"I am not ready," you whimper out, "I--I want you, badly, but I can't. I'm not prepared." You sniffle, feeling your chest constrict.

Jing Yuan doesn't speak for a bit, hands clenching his own silk robe to remove lingering sweat.

"Then I'll wait," he kneels down, "We have eternity together."

Your breath hitches, anger rises at the absurdity of it all. But you sink back down, nodding slowly. He has not harmed you physically, and it was one (grave) misunderstanding.

"alright then." you concede, letting him pull you up.

A decade or two has passed since then, and the two of you maintain a lovely manor, lush gardens and hire the finest chefs (although, they only work once every month, catering banquets your lover holds for his human and semi-human friends.) Jing Yuan has married you, renewing vows every century or so under new names and fake ID's, happily spending millions on the loveliest venues.

God I'm so obsessed with how to solve/unlock almost all of the narrative threads in Hades it's Zagreus raising his hand and being like "have we considered being more niceys to people and talking to them with our mouth?" And everyone is like "gods you're such a dumbfuck" and he's like. So we haven't tried it then. Cool. And then he fixes basically everything around him by being niceys and talking to people with his mouth

Personal headcanon about the "you picked the wrong dellamorte" line, I don't think illario actually likes rook outside the context of them being someone close to lucanis. Like rook on their own isn't much to him, but when they meet it's yet another person talking about his cousin (why isn't he good enough for whatever job they're hiring for?) and on top of that they somehow bring him back from the dead (another whole can of worms for illario). Now he starts turning on the charm, but whether he's actually interested or this is just one more thing his cousin has that he doesn't and it gets under his skin, who knows. Either way, rook ignores illario, the guy who lives off his charm, and is instead interested in the guy who's never even dated before and thinks giving someone a knife is how to flirt. Infuriating

NO THANK YOU !! i am genuinely sorry if i have ever implied illario is into rook like i see some takes about it and unless it like ties into your rook's personal backstory i don't seriously think he's romantically jealous. at all. my enjoyment of that line stems from illario's pathological need to make it about himself and not see his strengths but what lucanis has, and therefore what he doesn't. he's annoyed enough to try and goad you in the middle of a fight about the 'wrong' dellamorte and completely blind to the fact that the venatori are at best, a stupid fucking alliance, and at worst, a cult that will devour the crows from the inside out and illario would have been the one to give them the keys. he sees lucanis make allies, needs his own, and instead of charming the other talons/houses as he should, he (probably spitefully) picks the venatori. or maybe he just thought it would be easier. ugh he makes me want to telekenetically throw him around

They’re not going to rebuild Castle Byers because Will can’t rebuild his childhood, which is the reason he destroyed Castle Byers in the first place. He’d been trying to hold on to a level of carefree ignorance that no longer existed for him. The problems Castle Byers saved him from have been replaced by new problems that are bigger and stronger than a child’s fort. He needs to face them differently. Thank you and goodnight
