do you think they kept in touch, an odd friendship formed over the shared love of a dead man.

because i do. i think that for as long as they could, they sent letters back and forth, making sure someone was always there maintaining the area around the grave marker and ensuring that there was always something there. be it a bouquet of flowers that arthur would have said he wasn’t a good enough man for or one of those cigarette cards that he swore he only collected for the money (even though he never turned in the completed sets).

i think they would work together to make sure that the last remaining piece of the best man they’d ever met never went forgotten

I love Viktor yet I can still call him out on how awful and cruel his actions were when he was taking people’s souls to turn them into robots as a plan to execute his "The Final Glorious Evolution" to cope with his imperfections as a sickly, crippled man.

So it’s very odd how defensive certain JayVik shippers get when they get called out for their hypocrisy and refusal to hold him or Jayce accountable for the things they have both said and done BUT have a grudge and hatred towards Mel for being “manipulative” as if that’s the WORST fucking thing that ever happened in Arcane but that’s how ✨MISOGYNY AND RACISM ✨ unfortunately goes in fandoms when it comes to shipping 🙄

Arcane fans especially female identifying ones have a lot of internalized sexism and double standards. They love to see to coddle WHITE MALE characters when they make awful, shitty decisions / mistakes and allow them to have flaws then froth at the mouth when GOD FORBID when black female characters in high positions of power are doing the same thing 😒

Meljayvik dynamic is so interesting to me because like

Mel is a woman who knows death in a thousand steel swords and a thousand gold coins. She knows it in the shadow of her mother and the bleeding, dripping remnants of her bloodline. She knows it in the growl of Wolf prowling in the shadows and the prickles on the back of her neck. She knows death in a cracked throne, a necklace in a pool of blood. A fleet of red sails.

Viktor is a man who knows death in the fabric of his existence, in his very flesh and blood. He knows it in the clicks of gears and leather straps along his back. He knows it in the graze of Lamb’s arrow brushing past his cheek. He knows it in the tap tap tap of his cane on the marble piltovan floors and he knows it in the sickly stench of iron coming from his own blood, dripping out of his nose and mouth.

Together, they are brilliant minds that could conquer the world if they do pleased, but the shadow of Wolf will always hang over them and Lamb will always have her bow pulled taught.

Jayce, in contrast, knows death in the fear of a swirling snowstorm and in the quiet grief for his father. He has met them, and he has not been forced to shake their hand. Thus, he is a shelter from a violent storm
