How can I loose weight?
I got you.
💗weightloss, diets and healthy habits💗
1. healthy habits
before we start, you want longterm process. So form habits. Become disciplined.
No crash-diet means no jojo-effect. No crash-diet means actual progress that doesnt go to waste.
2. diet
No matter how much you move, if your diet is not sitting right, you wont slim down. Over time you have to include healthy and nutritious options into your diet.
~small bowl of veggies, before breakfast
(such as cucumber, bell pepper, carotts, tomatos. That way your bloodsugar levels wont come crushing down midday)
~breakfast should include something that keeps you full. Dont skip it. People who eat breakfast tend to loose more weight and be slimmer.
(Porride, Eggs, Avocado, etc)
I usually include: Oatmeal, Chia sees, Berries and one Banana
~try not to snack, keep going for three meals a day
~eat whole foods, eat clean and make sure to dont neglect your protein-intake
(protein keeps us full and satisfied. Also, you want to loose fat, not muscle)
~cut out sodas and liquid calories!!!
such a waste. go for the light options with 0-2kcal. They taste the same, if not better.
Also, drink enough water.
3. workout
Normally, I work out every day in some way.
Cardio, strenght, pilates or just a walk outside.
Moving your body, keeping it toned and flexible, helps your mood, your health and your overall life.
On top, it burns calories.
Build some muscle and loose some fat. Thats how you get your dream body.
Here are my favorite channels, that I workout to daily:
MIZI (cardio mainly, full body workouts and burning calories)
Lidia Mera (pilates full body, toning and strenghtenig, legs, arms, abs)
Shirlyn Kim (specific parts, weightloss, strenghtening/toning,thigh gap)
Yuuka Sagawa (posture, arms and upper body)
Nina Dapper (arms, legs and abs)
4. Beauty Secrets
~ginger/curcuma shots
I tend to have ginger shots to boost my immune system and overall health. They are also very good for your skin and can give you a natural glow.
~probiotics
Your gut health is a game changer. You get less break outs and you can loose weight faster.
You can heal your gut through your diet and order some probiotics.
~castor oil
I live and breath castor oil.
Usually I apply it before bed on my lashes, hair and skin. It helps with hair growth, skin protection and hydration. Its also very good for debloating and detox, if you put it into your belly button.
~green tea
This magic tea can help you loose weigtt, reduce the risk of several diseases, such as diabetes or heart disease,
It reduces anxiety and lowers your cholesterol level.

So I was re-reading the Fish meta just now trying to figure out where taramasalata would go in all that, when the thought occurred -- I don't know if there are many sushi restaurants in the South Downs, so A. and/or C. might get into doing home-made stuff (e.g. from 'Sushi For Dummies or smth); do you think Ineffable Husbands speak would make a distinction between restaurant vs home-made sushi?
Hi, love! Your Asks always make me hungry lol. 💕 What I think your ask has to do with bacon, Hamlet, coffee, the "fomenting" of 597 AD, The British Museum Cafe, the kimchi that Brenda so desperately needed to bitch about to Her Ron in S1, and a hidden language joke related to Crowley's 1941 hat under the cut. (Sorry this one took a minute-- your Ask got my brain percolating a bit. 😊)
One of the reasons why I think it's sushi that Crowley & Aziraphale chose to go out for on their sneaky dinners circa 2008 is that sushi is predominantly made up of fish (usually raw but not always) wrapped up in fermented rice. I'm not an expert in the history of sushi but one thing I have learned about it is that it was originally invented as a way to preserve fish for longer back in ancient times when there wasn't a way to keep fish chilled. Then, it was called narezushi.
Narezushi involved salting fish after skinning and gutting it, then letting it ferment for a few months in the salt, before then removing the salt and stuffing and covering it with rice, and fermenting for even longer. Fish would be stored in rice for the better part of the year and, much of the time, the rice wouldn't actually be eaten afterwards-- just the fish. Over time, it evolved into the sushi that we know today, which is still made with a kind of fermented rice. Fermentation is the same process used to make alcohol and several different kinds of bread-- including black bread and sourdough, the two Crowley and Aziraphale are coded as being.
In bread, the yeast in the fermenting process is what causes the dough to rise and in alcohol, it's the ethanol fermentation that turns the sugars in the fruit or grain into alcohol. We know that bread, fish, and alcohol are all common sex euphemisms in different ways in their speak so what's with the focus on fermentation?
I think it's a couple of things at once. One is that fermentation is an analogy for arousal. Another is that, in talking about sushi and fish-- things like pickled herring, etc., as well that also are about preserving fish-- there's also a romantic sense to it. They've been together a long time. Food that can be made to age-- wine, cheese, pickled and preserved fish and other food, etc..-- is food that lasts a long time, if not as long as they do. It's bits of the past carrying into the present. Still another aspect to it would be a nod to delayed gratification. If a food involves fermentation and can last longer than most other food, it's analogous to aspects of things like edging that are alluded to in a half-dozen or so different scenes.
The last reason, though, could be because it reminds them of 597 AD and the brief bit of ferment/foment/frumenty wordplay confusion.
I wrote about this at one point I think already but the jokes in this scene are based around the fact that they both keep saying or thinking of words that sound like "ferment." Crowley says he's "spreading foment"-- a word that does mean spreading discord but also is used to describe oils/potions applied with warm water. Foment is bath soaks and Crowley is super uncomfortable in that suits and knows Aziraphale is too so he's all let's quit and go take a bath.
Aziraphale gets that Crowley is wordplay-flirting with him (showing up and posing with "and you have found your [little] death" made that a bit clear) but he is confused by what the hell foment is because they usually flirt in food terms. Aziraphale thinks Crowley is going for a food euphemism-- "is that some kind of porridge?"-- because there was a new porridge called frumenty that had come up around the same time and that sounds like a word that Aziraphale could see Crowley using-- it's food, it's phonetically linked to fruit, even!-- but Crowley clarifies that, no, he was using foment. What is extra-confusing is that both words link to ferment and the process of fermentation, which is already a thing for them.
Crowley makes his meaning more clear and they figure out what each other is saying but it's a fun scene because Aziraphale just assuming that Crowley was trying to food-flirt with him then makes this one of the scenes in the series that make it more obvious that they are, in fact, doing just that. (Otherwise, you have to think that Aziraphale thought Crowley got dressed in a knight's outfit and schlepped around a damp woods spreading actual porridge and why on Earth would Aziraphale think that was an actual answer to what Crowley was up to? lol)
Later scenes suggest that it's in 597 AD as a result of the ferment/foment/frumenty conversation that Crowley and Aziraphale experimented and figured out the truth about their ability to do miracles and this is suggested in a few places, like we looked at in other metas, as to be how they figured out they could have all the sex without killing each other. That... seems like it would place fermentation in a pretty revered position in Ineffable Husbands Speak lol so whether they're getting sushi from a restaurant or making it at home, fish with a history related to fermentation seems like it would be top of the list for sexy dinner night.
One of the other jokes about fermented food in the series is about one of the most famous examples of it-- kimchi-- and it's the one in the scene where Aziraphale possesses Madame Tracy during one of her "psychic sessions." Crowley and Aziraphale refer to possession in highly-sexualized terms, to the point that when Aziraphale appeared to Crowley after being discorporated and they started talking about Aziraphale needing to possess someone to get back to Earth, the "receptive body", etc. innuendo is just blatant and not at all coded.
Brenda chose to take the time Aziraphale gave her to speak to her husband to go on to Ron about how scandalized she was to be served Korean food at the wedding she recently attended and it's when she starts to talk about "the kimchi" being brought out, that is when Ron finally flips out and loses it at her from beyond the grave, right? Poor Ron never got any fermentation in life and he's not about to keep being tormented in death. 😂 Not exactly an example of true passion, Brenda and Her Ron were...
After the whole interlude is over, we hear King of All Fermenting Aziraphale pause and then dryly remark: "Wasn't that touching?" Hilarious in its own right and a comment that Crowley would have found even funnier, since neither touching sentiment nor physical touching seemed to be very prevalent in the sad marriage of Brenda and Ron. They could have done with eating a bit more kimchi.
I do think Crowley & Aziraphale would differentiate between homemade and restaurant sushi, if only for the fun with messing with the words-- because I think they subtly actually already are from some other scenes in the series.
We heard in S2 that one of their alternate rendezvous spots is The British Museum Cafe, which is pretty hilarious from an euphemistic standpoint. They had to pick a place that they could be said to have just been in at the same time should they get caught and also museums are the indoor versions of public parks in spycraft stories but we've also seen them use restaurant/cafe/place that provides food euphemistically for a lover. The two of them meeting each other in secret in the cafe of The British Museum when they are literally older than dirt is just very funny. What kind of cafes are they to each other? The kind related to the stuff that's been here forever-- the ones that provide coffee and lunch and snacks amongst all the fossils and ancient art.
Cafe and restaurant-- like rendezvous-- are also obviously French loaner words in English; they are French words that have been absorbed into common use in English. When you say them in a sentence, you are, technically, speaking two languages at once. There is a technical name for that and it's related to something that lives in plain sight in the bookshop so we'll come back to that in a second...
Cafe is also obviously the French word for coffee. Coffee, in GO, seems to live at the symbolic intersection of sex and America. (A very complicated intersection lol.) There are other posts around these parts about coffee and its role in the American Revolution and all the American symbolism in Give Me Coffee or Give Me Death in S2. Coffee as a beverage in the whole food-and-drink thing, though, is a drink produced by grinding together coffee beans, which are actually seeds, which really feels like another meta at this point so getting to that Seeds of Destruction post soon...
Crowley and Aziraphale are actually also drinking coffee after wine at The Ritz in S1 and Crowley is being pouty about Aziraphale having put him on half-rations of late while in his angel feelings and not talking to him about those feelings as much as Crowley would like when he tells Nina this is what he wants to drink:
Share them frozen peas, Aziraphale... Anyway, if that's restaurants and cafes, then do they also already have a concept of home? I think they do and we can see it in some of the words they're using.
The word home itself has a rather interesting history, especially from a GO-related perspective. It's related to the root words of ham and hem (food/seamstressing.) You can see some of that linguistic history still remaining to this day in what we call a little human settlement that isn't quite as big as a full-on town-- a hamlet.
Yes, really lol. Of all the plays for them to have attended, eh? Yet another reason for it having been Hamlet, in addition to the content of the play itself. (My favorite being that Burbage is mixed in louder around them at The pangs of despised love/the law's delay/the insolence of office and the spurns... Yep.) Whickber Street could also be described as a hamlet within London Soho and Aziraphale is largely responsible for having developed it. But what about the bookshop itself? Is it a home for both of them within the hamlet?
You've undoubtedly heard the idiom "home is where you hang your hat" and we've seen in several scenes that the in-universe explanation for Terry Pratchett's hat hanging on Aziraphale's hatstand in the bookshop is that it's Crowley's hat from 1941. This isn't just a visual, literal execution of that idiom but also a different joke related to the hatstand, not the hat, and wordplay.
One, old-time-y word for a coat rack/hat stand like Aziraphale has in the bookshop is a portmanteau. This word means a half-dozen different things, including also a large, old-fashioned trunk that would have been used as a suitcase. While these are literal things-- physical objects-- the word portmanteau also has meanings when it comes to languages.
In linguistics, the word portmanteau can be used to refer to two different kinds of language things, both of which involve words that are blended together.
When we use words from more than one language in a sentence together, the sentence could be defined as a portmanteau. Most of us make these kinds of sentences without consciously intending to do so and fairly often-- especially with relation to food. Like the use of the words restaurant and cafe in sentences spoken in English that we mentioned above.
Aziraphale is actually making a pun about portmanteaus in S2 when he uses jardiniere in his French sentence because the word jardiniere exists in French but is also a loaner word in English, where it has come to mean a garden box/flower planter. It's French that was adopted into English, which altered its meaning a bit, and then Aziraphale puts it back into the sentence he's speaking-- which is all otherwise in French-- but using its English-language-derived meaning to form the innuendo. He's made a portmanteau in the process.
This isn't the only linguistic meaning of portmanteau, though. The other is actually the even more commonly used one and it's a word that is created out of mashing up two or more words together. One example is popsicle (pop, as in soda pop + icicle = popsicle) which is the American word for one of the desserts they buy during the body swap scene in the park. Another relevant to Crowley and Aziraphale is breakfast (break + fast, the meal they're getting-- no matter the time of day lol-- when it's been a minute since they were together but which, ironically, it doesn't seem they actually have a lot when it comes to literal food itself, since there's suggestion that they're not usually together in the mornings.)
A portmanteau-the-hat-stand is also an umbrella stand... The S2 posters with the umbrellas... Frou frou cocktails with little umbrellas... All of these things-- hats, umbrellas, wings, etc..-- provide the same function as another word we've heard recently:
They're all canopies... and so is the bookshop, really, as it's a form of shelter that keeps them safe and under the roof of which they've probably had their share of vavoomy kisses... The portmanteau where Crowley hangs his hat in the bookshop-- a place full of words in books and wordplay with his partner-- is a physical representation of wordplay that relates to the word used to describe different words and languages blended together, like how they're trying to do together as best as they can through the bonkers circumstances we've seen them in.
But we're not quite done with a concept of home yet because let's go back to ham for a minute... So, we talk about fish a lot in these here parts but not so much about jokes related to meat and since ham is now home, let's get into the meat and potatoes of it. (*groan* I know... that one was beneath me lol.)
In S2, meat became a whole damn thing after we had the ox ribs scene, right? The first food Aziraphale ever ate was (a lot of) meat, which feels right and just for the self-proclaimed The Southern Pansy... but meat had been lingering around in the wordplay already for a bit-- including in God's intro to Crowley & Aziraphale in S1.
The word meat is, of course, a homophone for the word meet.
Just as God uses "quarter" twice in her opening monologue in 1.01 and encourages us to look at multiple meanings of words in doing so, She uses "meeting" twice in her intro to the St. James' Park scene that serves as a paragraph of language lessons in Ineffable Husbands Speak. The word is used in the first and last sentences and with relation to the multiple meanings of clandestine meetings that are happening on and under the surface-- secret agents, secret lovers, and secret language within the world of both of those.
While there's the secret agent comparison happening, there's also the other connotation of a secret meeting and God encourages us to bring in historical context to what's happening on the surface by saying that St. James' Park "is and always has been" the best place in London for a clandestine meeting. It doesn't take more than a brief Google search to learn that St. James' Park was originally one of the most notorious hookup parks of history-- making it then already amusing in S1 when God then finishes her intro by saying that Crowley and Aziraphale "have been meeting here" in St. James' Park "for quite some time." After S2, though, this is even funnier.
Meeting here, did you say, God?
Probably also worth mentioning that another way to have said that sentence is "Crowley and Aziraphale have been coming here for quite some time" since you go to a meeting and... yeah lol.
Or, in S2, when Aziraphale flirts with Crowley during the party they're having in their home by telling him that he was hosting a business meeting and then holds out a tray of vol-au-vents in a knowing imitation of how Crowley once did with the ox ribs.
As we all know, ham is meat that comes from a pig. When you crisp that meat up, it's called something else-- bacon. The word bacon comes from the same root words as that of the word back-- a word with two meanings that cross together when it comes to a sense of home made with a romantic partner.
We have bacon coming from the word back as a noun-- referring to a part of the body-- but the word back is also a verb that refers to returning to a place. This is referred to more frequently as coming back and now we've, well, come back to wordplay around the verb to come... not unexpectedly lol. Your home is the place where you hang your hat and to which you keep returning.
Crowley leaves the house during the 2.01 argument and then returns and dramatically announces: "I'm back."
The bacon has come back home, should Aziraphale wish for any makeup meating at any time. Glasses off and everything.
Aziraphale drolly replies: "Yes. I can see that."
"I can (container, often for food) see (homophone: sea) that (contains hat)." Welcome home, dear. Guess who will be doing a dance?
Remember Muriel in the tie-in notes describing Crowley as "grumpy + nice" and musing that this new word could be called "grice"?
As we looked at in another meta, the word already exists and a grice is a pig. And Harmony describing Crowley as "a swine" in 1941? It's from pigs that we get ham (home) and bacon (coming back, returning to that home) and Crowley and Aziraphale keep being tied to pigs... which is a word that can also be used to refer to those with a dirty sense of humor.
Furthering that, there is the other, non-pig definition of grice, which refers to being someone who is very enthusiastic about trains.
Within grice though is also, of course, the word rice...
...and ice, which replaced fermentation in fish preservation...
...and, so, back at the sushi we arrive. 🐠
Meta the Ask references for anyone who is wondering what we're on about regarding fish:

hello! i am a fellow novice calligrapher and i have a question that concerns a dip pen i have. if you're not looking to give advice right now, that's totally okay!
so i am trying to write with the waterman "serenity blue" ink using a dip pen with a wide-ish nib (i don't remember the exact size, probably around 2.5mm), but when i try to write with it sometimes, no ink flows out. i have been swirling the tip of the nib in the cap of the ink bottle just to get some of the left over ink onto the nib because, when there is already wet ink on the page, it writes perfectly. i am not explaining this very well.
here is a 2-minute video of me misspelling "porridge" as "porride" with the offending phenomenon.
the attachment wasn't working so i uploaded it to youtube
any advice (or non-advice) you have would be much appreciated!
thanks and have a good day!
Absolutely happy to advise!
Two things immediately spring to mind:
The first, and most common issue, is that your nib could use some more cleaning. To properly diagnose this I’d need to see the underside of the nib and how the ink is behaving - is it give you a nice even coating of ink, or pooling up and just sliding off?
The second (and possibly more likely in this case given how your first couple letters seem fine) is that this is just how dip nibs behave.
Now, I’m not saying they should completely stop working, but you kinda have to nudge them to get the ink flowing. This can either be a little sideways movement (look at how the P and o seemed to work mostly fine) or setting the nib down and waiting for a sec before starting the stroke if you don’t want a serif.
I haven’t done intense study of calligraphy, but I would not be surprised if this behavior is *why* hands like italic have the little starting serif - because that’s just what it takes to get the ink flowing.
Hopefully this helps - if anything didn’t make sense, let me know and I’ll find better resources/do a video.

I was looking through newspaper that we had cause I was making a fire in the fireplace, and I found one called "The Seattle Times COMICS" which is really fun. I used to read them a lot when I'd go over to my grandparents house, cause my grandpa always reads the newspaper. Anyway, I found a strip that is from For Better Or For Worse, by Lynn Johnston and it gave me a Jori idea.
Jade was sitting on her recliner watching TV when her daughter came running in holding a book wanting her to read it to her. Jade took the book and hummed. "A story? Well, I don't know, Abby... I can't remember how to read." She teased. Abby wasn't having it. "Yes, you can! You can weed!" She whined. Jade nodded and picked Abby up and set her in her lap. She held the book and furrowed her brows. "No... This doesn't look right." She said, Abby interjected. "You gots the book upside down!" Jade nodded, turning the book.
She began to read. "Once upon a time, there were 3 beers: A lager, a light draft, and-" "Fee BEARS, Mommy! It's fee BEARS!" Abby interrupted. Jade tilted her head. "Oh." She kept reading. "There was a mama bear, a papa bear, and a weird guy who lived next door-" "NO! It was BABY BEAR!!" Abby whined. Jade tried to fight back her smile. "Mama bear made salsa and said, "Hey, dudes, this salsa is too hot!" "She made porrids, Mommy!" Jade hummed. "She did?" She asked.
Jade kept going. "So, the 3 bears went for a walk while their porridge cooled, meanwhile, a little girl called Cinderella-" "AAAGH!" Abby yelled. Tori walked into the living room. "I'll read the story to you, Abby." Abby looked up at her and nodded. "Ok." When Abby got settled on Tori's lap, Tori began to read to her. "So, Goldilocks tasted the first bowl and said "Oooh, this porridge is too hot!" She tasted the second bowl, and said, "Oooh, this porridge is too cold" She tasted the third bowl and said, "This porridge is just right!" So, she ate it all-"
Abby yelled, "NO!" Tori looked at her confused. Abby whined. "Read it the way Mommy does!!" Tori just stared at her while she heard Jade laughing from across the room.

Special Chicken Porridge from Mc Donalds
it was Rp. 11.000,- if i’m not mistaken. so i wasn’t expecting much, but i was wrong. it taste good! it’s solid texture porridge, not too watery, and they are royal with toppings. served with medium portion. i love the crunchy sensation from chopped kulit pangsit [dumpling’s skin?] and savoury from the chicken. served with some herbs too.
if i go to revisit McD again, probably i will re-order this porridge again.

Summary: Chris and (Y/n) have four boys together and are finally expecting a girl, but their family is hectic and things get harder when (Y/n) becomes ill.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Mum, dinner's ready." Charlie leaned over the armchair that (Y/n) was laid in, resting his head on the side of the chair as he waited patiently for (Y/n) to open her eyes and lift her head to look at him. His dark brown hair fell down near to his eyes when he leaned his head down and it gave him such an innocent look that was normally used when he was trying to hide something he'd done.
"Okay." Reaching her hand up, (Y/n) took Charlie's hand in hers for a few moments, smiling when the second eldest leaned down to kiss her temple before he started tugging on her hand as a sign for her to move. He knew not to try and pull her up in case he hurt her but he was hungry and wanted her to come to the dining room with him to eat. "You go, I'll catch up." (Y/n) let go of his hand before moving her head to rest against the armchair again, feeling a wave of fatigue taking over her. But her mind barely had the chance to switch off before Charlie was grabbing her hand again.
"Dad said you have to come and eat, captain's orders." There was a clear sense of hesitation in Charlie's words but (Y/n) couldn't quite work out what he was fearful of. He was either worried what Chris would say if (Y/n) didn't go to eat something or he was worried about (Y/n) not eating.
He had been told to tell (Y/n) dinner was ready and to make sure she came into the dining room to eat, he didn't want to go and sit down without (Y/n).
"Baby, you go and eat. Tell your dad I'll be there in a minute, I'm just tired."
When (Y/n) let go of his hand, a whine passed through Charlie's lips before he huffed and spun round on his heels. His lips curved down and his shoulders sagged as he made his way down through the kitchen to get to the dining room on his own where everyone else was already sat and waiting.
The moment Charlie sat down at the table, he felt Chris' eyes on him, waiting for some sort of explanation when he sat down alone without (Y/n) following behind.
"Mum's tired." Charlie looked up from his plate to lock eyes with Chris for a few seconds before he broke the gaze and looked back down to his plate, quickly starting to eat.
It was hard to read the expression on Chris' face but all the boys knew he didn't look happy to say the least. None of them said anything when Chris set down his fork and pushed his chair back before he left the table. For the past few days Chris had said next to nothing about (Y/n) not eating very much because he knew she was still in pain and he knew her painkillers might be taking away her appetite. But this was getting out of hand because he hadn't seen her eat hardly anything for almost six days now. A biscuit here a bit of fruit or a little bit of porride there was the most he had seen her eat and it was worrying him.
Slowly opening her eyes, (Y/n) tilted her head back against the chair so her eyes could focus on Chris who she just knew would be there. She felt like trying to smile and break the ice but she knew it wasn't going to do very much. He didn't look angry because he couldn't be angry at her, he looked worried and that made (Y/n) feel worse.
He moved over until he was sitting on the arm of the sofa next to the chair, his eyes staying locked with hers as he clasped his hands together in his lap as he hunched over.
"Can you please come and eat something? I've seen you eat an apple today and that's it." Chris really didn't want to keep tabs on (Y/n) and take note of what she was eating but these past few days he found himself watching her to try and see if she was actually eating or not and he could tell she wasn't. She was going to make herself worse and sick despite that not being her intention.
"I'll eat my dinner in a bit I promise, I'm tired I just want to sleep."
Chris dipped his head forward and scratched at the back of his neck, trying to think what he could say without sounding uncaring or forceful or even cruel.
"Doll, the longer you go without eating the more tired you're gonna be, this really isn't good for you or the baby." If (Y/n) wasn't eating enough to sustain herself, it was going to do no favours for the baby.
Sighing, (Y/n) gripped the arms of the chair to push herself up, taking in a deep breath when she stood to her feet and felt like her head had suddenly been pumped full of air. (Y/n) knew not eating was very bad, especially in her condition and for this long but if she forced herself to eat she either felt horrible for the rest of the day or she was sick. She didn't know if it was the pain in her back or the tablet she was taking that was doing this but (Y/n) couldn't stop taking the painkillers or she couldn't move without pain and she couldn't sleep either.
Chris rubbed his hand over his mouth and freshly shaved jaw, applying a bit of pressure to try and calm himself down because (Y/n) didn't look well at all and he didn't know what he could do to help. He followed after her into the dining room, noticing all of the boys casting glances their way without saying anything, unsure what they were meant to say or do.
A few seconds of tension seemed to dwell in the air before Levi tried to break the tension with a question which soon got the conversation rolling. Throughout the conversation, Chris couldn't help but dart his eyes over to (Y/n), watching as she ate a few pieces of veg but grimaced each time she did so.
Leaning back in her chair, (Y/n) closed her eyes for a few moments as she took deep breaths, trying to stop the way her head was pounding and her stomach was protesting. She knew she had to eat something and if she didn't try and eat now she most likely wouldn't eat for the rest of the night. Trying to eat some more, (Y/n) picked at the mash potato which was a bit easier to eat than trying to chew the meat without wanting to be sick.
"Ice cream?" Milo looked up at Chris with a smile and big baby blue eyes that were clearly trying to sweet talk him and they both knew it always worked.
"Alright, do you want some?" Chris looked over at (Y/n) with hope in his eyes and in his voice because although she had eaten more of her dinner than he thought, she still hadn't had very much at all. The relief was clear in his eyes when (Y/n) nodded, her lips curving into a small smile as she watched him, Milo and Levi head into the kitchen to go and get the ice cream for them all.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Letting her eyes fall closed, (Y/n) tried to take a deep, slow breath to rid herself of the headache that was throbbing behind her eyes. The water felt like a blanket wrapping around her, the heat enveloping her frame in a comforting hug that made all of her muscles instantly relax. There was no pain in the back of her neck or the base of her head either like there normally was when she laid in the bathtub and leant her head back on the edge. This time, her head was leaning back on Chris' shoulder instead of on the tub.
Her back didn't feel like it was aching or throbbing from leaning against the curved shape of the bath because Chris was acting as a cushion. The pain from the slipped disc in (Y/n)'s back was almost non-existent due to the hot water and the painkillers she had taken an hour earlier.
"The scan's on Tuesday, right?" Chris' voice broke (Y/n) out of the trance she felt like she had been cast under. Her eyes didn't bother to open, she simply eased her shoulders down a little more so they were under the water as she hummed in response. They both knew she wasn't going to go to sleep right here, but (Y/n) had to admit the thought was tempting.
"Yeah, why?" (Y/n)'s voice was quiet but showed she was still listening and concentrating, despite looking like she was quickly falling asleep.
"Just checking... we might have to tell then you're not eating, see if they can give you something for it." Chris' voice was quiet like he was carefully trying to bring up the subject or break the ice because he didn't know what (Y/n)'s response would be. Leaning his head down, Chris pressed his lips slowly and gently to (Y/n)'s neck causing shivers to run up and down her spine like she was being electrified.
"I might feel better by then." (Y/n) quipped, but her voice was just as quiet as his and they both knew that wasn't the biggest possibility.
Chris kept his lips pressed against her neck, slowly trailing kisses up her neck until he reached the junction between her neck and her jaw which caused (Y/n) to shudder. His thumbs rubbed up and down over her hips under the water in a methodical motion that suggested he was doing it without thinking.
"Doll, I really doubt you'll be better in five days." He meant that in the kindest way he could but Chris really didn't think that in five days, (Y/n) would be eating normally and that her back would feel better. If her back felt the same or God forbid, got worse, then it was unlikely (Y/n) was going to be eating properly. It was either the pain or the painkillers that was making her lose her appetite and something had to change before she made herself worse.
"But I can't come off those painkillers yet, I won't be able to move-"
"You might not have to stop taking them, you might just have to take something else as well to make sure you're eating. We'll get it sorted out." Chris' voice was normally calm and melodic to listen to no matter what he was saying and when he spoke just now, it was as if he already knew things would work out and be okay.
Tilting her head to the side, (Y/n) opened her eyes for a few seconds before they fell closed when Chris pressed his lips upon hers. But the moment the kiss deepened a voice flooded the air from the other side of the bathroom door.
"Dad!"
(Y/n)'s lips curved into a smile when Chris groaned against her lips, sending vibrations rattling under the surface of her skin. His hands held her hips tighter and he pulled away from her, leaning his head back against the tub as he felt the urge to slouch down and slip under the surface of the water to disappear for a while.
"Daddy please..." Luca whined from the other side of the bathroom door as (Y/n) tilted her head back against Chris' chest to look up at him, waiting for him to respond to the six year old who's voice sounded urgent. (Y/n) knew Chris wasn't really annoyed at Luca for whatever reason he was calling out to him, Chris was just stunned at how Luca picked his moment to interrupt them perfectly.
"What is it bud, I'm in the bath?" Chris sighed as he closed his eyes, waiting to hear what the problem was. This was the way things usually worked, either Chris was getting dressed, getting a shower or just drifting off to sleep and then one of the boys would call out to him and demand that he help them in some way. Whether it was to settle an argument, grab them something to eat or just to help them drift back off to sleep, it was always something with impeccable timing.
"I need the toilet but Charlie won't let me use the one downstairs." Six people sharing one bathroom was never going to be an option so they had a smaller bathroom downstairs but it still didn't solve all the problems. If both bathrooms were used at the same time it left four people hanging around waiting to use whichever came free if they were desperate.
"Alright, the doors open." Chris and (Y/n) were both in the habit of not locking the bathroom door because whenever they did they could be sure one of the boys would need to come in for something.
The moment Luca ran into the room, he spared Chris one glance, his eyes darting to look at his mum who he hadn't realised was in here as well. Despite not realising (Y/n) had been in here too, it wasn't much of a shock to find both parents in here at the same time, it was a normality that all the boys had seen before, it went without saying.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"How do you feel?"
Moving her hand, (Y/n) pushed herself up so she was more sitting up than laying back, knowing that if she let herself lay back any more than this then it would cause aggravation and make it harder to get up again. Her eyes fell to the midwife who was standing next to her, getting the scan ready, a warm smile on her lips.
"Tired, I guess." (Y/n) responded before she turned her head to look at the monitor. It didn't matter how many times they had been in this position or the number of scans her and Chris had gone to, it always felt different and it was always special. (Y/n) always felt anxious at scans, not because she feared something would go wrong, but anxious about waiting for labour. There was always a big build up of anticipation that seemed to last forever until they could finally hold their baby. Seeing the way Chris looked at each child when they were first born was the part that (Y/n) loved the most.
"Are you still having trouble sleeping?" The midwife questioned, darting her eyes between the screen and (Y/n), catching (Y/n) shaking her head but her eyes were solely focused on looking at her baby on the screen. "Okay, well... everything looks to be in order with this one, although the heartbeat isn't as strong as it should be. But that's not a big concern or anything to worry about right now. How are you in yourself, are you eating and resting enough?"
(Y/n) reached out and took some tissues to clean her lower stomach before she pulled her shirt back down, keeping her eyes on her hands rather than looking up at the midwife. Chris had been right, (Y/n) hadn't gotten any better over these last five days and eating was a struggle.
"She's not been eating much at all for about two weeks now." Chris spoke up when he knew (Y/n) wasn't going to answer. Reaching over, he entwined his hand with hers to try and calm her down because he knew this wasn't easy. They hardly had any problems in their other pregnancies, it was only really with Levi the first time around that anything had happened where (Y/n) had morning sickness to the extent she couldn't keep anything down which led to going to hospital for a few days. Other than that, everything with all the boys had gone smoothly.
"Okay, (Y/n) I'd just like you to hop on the scales for me." (Y/n)'s eyes darted to look at Chris for a moment before she stood up and walked over to the scales.
Her eyes focused on the wall in front of her as she could feel her heart beginning to beat a little quicker. She already knew what was going to happen here, (Y/n) knew how little she had been eating and she knew how much she should normally be eating to sustain herself and the baby.
"It looks like you've lost a few pounds since our last appointment."
(Y/n) looked over at the midwife when they were all sat back down again but there was no shock on her features because (Y/n) already knew this would be the outcome. It was why she had tried eating as much as she could despite making herself feel ill in doing so. The moment (Y/n) turned her head to look at Chris she felt her stomach jumping, his expression was calm but it was also blank. Something that happened when he tried to look neutral rather than express any fear or anger or worry.
"Right now you're not in the danger zone, but you're coming close, if you lose any more weight there will be health risks to both you and the baby. I'm going to prescribe you some supplements to add to drinks and some vitamin tablets and you'll have to try and eat a bit more. We'll book another appointment for two weeks and if nothing changes or you get worse, the next step will have to be the hospital."
(Y/n) hadn't had any drastic weight loss but losing any weight right now wasn't a good sign and she clearly wasn't well.
Turning her head, (Y/n) locked eyes with Chris when he took her hand again, an expression on his face that looked calm and like he was trying to smile. This wasn't exactly what they wanted, but it wasn't the worst case scenario they had thought of. The thoughts rattling through his head and the emotions he was feeling were very clear when he brought (Y/n)'s hand to his lips.
They were okay right now, they just had to keep it this way.
