ICYDK, a workaround method to get the "Gale Dekarios likes you too" scene before Larian fixes the bug

Normally the dialogue option that led to this scene should be available if you bring Gale with you and have “Speak with Animals” buff on when you talk to Tara for the first time in Act 3 (btw, you could find her twice on different rooftops in the Lower City and buy magical items from her). Currently, it’s still bugged and can’t be triggered, and Larian has not fixed it despite people have been reporting this bug to them... So here is a workaround method to get this crucial scene to his character arc:

Requirements: Norbyte's BG3 Script Extender(console version): BG3SE-Updater-with-Console-20231028.zip (this is an old version with a config file that enables the console, it will automatically update once you start the game, or you need to manually edit the JSON file if you download the latest version from the first link)

After you talk to Tara on the rooftop in Act 3, don’t immediately talk to Gale, switch to the console, press enter, copy and paste the text below then press enter: Osi.SetFlag("ORI_Gale_Knows_TaraMentionedDekarios_9ccec403-dc18-661d-ed53-e5472b8145b4", GetHostCharacter(), 1, 1)

Talk to Gale afterward and pick the first dialogue option, Enjoy!

BTW, if you want to avoid the situation where Gale secretly still wants to become a God after seemingly agreeing to give up the Crown in the boat ride scene and then dump your character in the end, you can check the status of this flag to see if he's truly convinced after you finished his personal quests by copy and paste the text below in the console, if it returns a 0, then he's convinced and won't become a God, if it's a 1, you probably should redo all his scenes in Act 3 after you read the Annals of Karsus and choose more dialogue options that point out the Crown is dangerous, he is enough as he is and does not need to become a God, and kiss him when he protests, and choose less options that stay neutral or encourage him to pursue godhood... This flag is set to 1 as default, so don't panic if you check it before his Act 3 events, it's supposed to be that way.

I was listening to the Red Flags podcast yesterday at work and they made an excellent point as to the atmosphere of the re-signing of both Oscar and Lando last year. Gentlemen...a short view back to the past....

Oscar re-signed in September last year in a deal that was probably negotiated in summer 2023. Now crucially, in summer 2023 and into the early autumn, Checo was flopping at Red Bull with a contract that then ended in 2024, and Red Bull were making no secret of the fact that they were openly courting both Charles and Lando (whose contracts were expiring at the end of 2024) to be Max's teammate at Red Bull. Since Charles and Lando were both in contract negotiations with Ferrari and McLaren respectively at the time, both leaned into the Red Bull courting to some degree–but Lando far more than Charles. Lando's manager was even publicly seen by multiple British media talking to Helmut and Christian at Silverstone. While for Charles the Red Bull courting was likely a means to an end to get his preferred contract with Ferrari, Lando seemed to be seriously considering a Red Bull move.

So, naturally, if you're Zak Brown and one of your star drivers is seriously hinting at jumping ship to the rocketship team, you want to lock down your other star driver as soon as possible. Oscar's contract is additionally much lower pay than Lando's because Oscar was only a rookie when he signed that extension. So in Zak Brown's eyes, a possible exit clause or similar that could be triggered under the event of asking Oscar to adopt the role of a n2 driver even in the event of a championship battle is just a footnote to what is essentially a very good deal for McLaren. They lock down a driver that they know will become quite valuable, for quite cheap, so at least they keep one of their star drivers even if the other one runs off to Red Bull.

But as we all know, that's not what happened. Lando instead chose to re-sign with McLaren–probably even with similar clauses in his contract as Oscar and management insisted on and Zak Brown thinks he's got away with it. That's until McLaren did produce a rocketship and suddenly, team orders have become a glaring issue.

Here's the problem. If McLaren implement team orders, Oscar's contract expires in 2026, which is when a LOT of seats free up in the grid–most notably in Mercedes and Red Bull. If Kimi Antonelli doesn't perform as expected in 2025, Toto Wolff will be on the lookout to try and steal another team's driver. Similarly, Christian Horner has said multiple times that one of his biggest regrets is not working with Oscar in junior formulae. McLaren don't want to give Oscar any reason to possibly jump to another team, which I'm sure Mark Webber of multi 21 PTSD would not hesitate to do if McLaren prioritise Lando over Oscar. But at the same time, if McLaren want to win both championships (the best shot they've had in years, and hopefully the best shot they WILL have for many years to come–Forza Ferrari) the harsh reality is that they need team orders, especially while the RB20 is still trying to figure out how to turn.

All in all, McLaren are in a tricky situation, but one that's entirely their own fault. Maybe it should be a lesson to all of us to always think through the consequences of what seems like tiny clauses in contracts.

you seem to be reputable source to ask this and i haven't found a walkthrough anywhere else, do you know how to trigger the boat scene where gale has already decided not to go after the crown? like where he says you'll always be enough for him.

i've tried so many combinations and can't figure it out! sorry if you've already posted this

you have to sway gale away from the crown as best you can over the course of act 2 and 3, and then follow a certain chain of events to set the correct flags to trigger the alternate boat scene.

i've reliably managed to trigger it in act 3 with the following steps:

1: get the annals of karsus from sorcerous sundries

2: don't give gale the annals of karsus right away when he asks for the book

3: go to camp, but not as a long rest -> pick the go to camp option instead

4: speak to elminster and initiate his conversation (he should have a ! over his head and you can initiate the next step in progressing gale's act 3 quest, however: this is sometimes bugged if you haven't unlocked the elfsong tavern yet as a camp space, i.e. elminster will turn up, have a ! over his head, but his dialogue doesn't trigger, essentially soft-locking the quest)

5: go to the stormshore tabernacle to progress the quest

6: pick the option that encourages gale to seek mystra's forgiveness -> Player: Seek her forgiveness, Gale. It might be your only hope of curing the orb.

7: do a long rest

8: the alternate boat scene should trigger with gale at this point (he should be at camp with a ! to show he's ready to speak to the player)

as you can see, both the ORI_Gale_Knows_KarsiteWeave (mystra reveals this knowledge to gale at the stormshore tabernacle) and the LOW_StormshoreTabernacle_State_GaleSeeksForgiveness (set by picking the seek her forgiveness option during the stormshore tabernacle scene with the protag, gale and mystra) flags are integral here.

This is just my impression so far on the MCs of Ikemen Series. I have seen posts about Ikemen MC not having enough spite, dumb, damsel and distress etc etc....and to some point I do agree with it. Even I made a post about MCs being overly positive. But at the same time I feel like this is done on purpose from the writers' part.

Let's just say it, the MCs are not really that relatable even though they try to make it look like that. MCs in these games are very kind-hearted for no reason, overly positive and lack basic common sense. For example, take this scene from Harry's story event:

Harry did mention to her before this that he can detect if a person is lying or not when he makes eye-contact. In the scene mentioned above, a person with common sense can easily tell that Harry lost on purpose. But for some reason Kate thought he lost because she was able deceived him. It is only later that Harry told her and Kate looked genuinely surprised. I don't think Kate is dumb. But I feel like the writers think we players are not that smart enough to distinguish between Harry's lies and truth. It makes me laugh some times.

I just honestly feel like MCs are portrayed this way so that we players could understand the game and its characters better. Like Paimon from genshin, who repeats everything in baby terms so that we could understand what we have to do (even if her screechy noise is annoying). MCs here are played by us, so when male characters has a plan that they don't reveal, MCs try to find out what their plan is so that we could understand. That's it. MCs are here just simplify the story to make us understand the character's better. They'll only ask the male characters what's needed to know right now and not anything extra. If it where a realistic MCs, she would ask more logical questions like:

Is Victor also cursed?

If Crown consists of only 'cursed' people and Victor went around to search these people, are there any 'cursed' people out there who rejected his request?

More questions on their abilities like: Can Harry still detect lies if someone closes their eye? Can Elbert trigger sad memories if a person doesn't have a sad memory? etc etc...

But we don't see Kate asking these questions.

I feel like the reason why we feel sometimes frustrated when MCs act in a certain way is because these MCs are not at all realistic. I'll never believe that someone with common sense did not try to run away after watching a murder happen. I'll never believe that someone with common sense falling into easy traps. Like this one scene from Silvio's story where, Silvio's daddy visits Rhodolite because his lost son is found and he also wants to know if Rhodolite King is dead blah blah blah...you guys know that story (I assume). Emma has to choose the next King without Silvio's dad knowing and they wait for Sariel's call. A servant comes to Emma's room to call both her and Rio. This servant itself is sus because Emma clearly states that she hasn't seen that servant before. When I read this, I immediately knew it was red flag. But even so, Emma and Rio ignores the red flag and goes with the servant and what do you know? They get kidnapped. The scene was very predictable. But it's so frustrating because, realistically speaking I think normal people would feel a little bit suspicious about the person given the situation. Maybe even question the servant. That's why I'm saying...I do feel MCs are not realistic enough. I don't think anyone is overly-kindhearted to the point that they would accept insults from the male leads and be like "I'm going to prove myself to you!". Normal people would just be like "fuck off!" and won't listen to their insults. No one is so dumb it fall into easy traps and no normal person is like "I will work hard to get to know them better." Majority of the people are way smarter and way selfish (not in a bad way though!). Many people have attitude, not everyone are kind to strangers. That's why MCs are not realistic, so there is no use in comparing MC to your personality or your intelligence. They are just tools for explaining the story in a simplified way and moving the plot forward. Because like I said, if Emma and Rio didn't go with the servant and get kidnapped, Silvio's story wouldn't move forward.

That's all. This no hate, this is just how I felt after reading quite amount of stories both in-game and on tumblr. MC's don't have much background because the writers don't really put too much thought about their personality. MCs are basically last on their lists. They just make sure that she's an adult, working woman (doing some odd jobs like a flowershop lady or something, because I've never seen a CEO MC), and they are very kind for some reason. They don't have family (except for Emma), they don't have a story, they don't have anything that impacts their personality. At least it would have been nice to see why a MC is so kind-hearted would be nice. But otome games' main selling points are the male leads. The male leads falls for MC's purity in their dark world.

I've been comforting people by telling them how fascism burns itself out, pointing at the history of Germany and Argentina and saying "Ten years. Try to make it ten years." I have not been telling them that Putin's been in power for 26 years, nor have I been pointing out that Francoist Spain lasted 39 years, nor have I talked about the general reinforcement of dictatorships and kleptocracy around the world. The city I live in has been doing crony capitalism for far longer than the alt-right's been around. We, the human race, do not have a fix for these sorts of organizational problems.

There's a bad century coming, with agriculture not ready for climate change, with whole parts of the world ready to go mostly-uninhabitable and with plenty of anger ready and waiting for all the migration that'll be triggered by that. We don't know how people will react to Europe going cold after the AMOC collapse, we don't know how people will react when coastlines around the world go under (China and India's coasts are of particular concern here since they have the most people), and we don't know what it'll look like when the Middle East starts to hit black flag temperatures on the regular and it becomes impossible to step outside for any extended time. There's nowhere to run, and all the governments coming to power on the promises that they can make it better are going to be flailing around desperately as it turns out you can't persuade or bribe an ocean current.

And on the other hand, maybe we'll get fusion working and free energy will revolutionize greenhouse farms. Maybe everyone will have temperature controlled buildings, we'll build water purification plants, and geoengineer swaths of the world to adjust temperature via solar reflection. Maybe the various demographic crashes will rewild massive swaths of land and biotech will bring us new crops and extinct animals and vaccines for cancer and the common cold. Maybe we'll have all those things and the migration and the anger all at once. People are afraid; people are right to be afraid.

If I keep my head down and get lucky, I still expect to lose my social security (and any chance of a comfortable retirement), to lose more than a few of my friends (to distance or otherwise), to need to make it through hurricanes and floods and droughts, to lose access to a great deal of the information I've enjoyed for so much of my life, and to live in fear for many years. I expect riots and repression. In the worst cases, I'm worried about military drafts and rationing and related corruption. I dream of a house with a basement of supplies and a guest room to rent out, to shield myself from these things, but I fear being trapped by investment in a single place. And like so many other people, I'm alone or mostly alone. There's a community or two I'd like to join, but even when I attend their events, I stand on the outskirts and can't see a way in. I'm stubborn; I'll keep trying and likely make some progress eventually, but all the big feelings are outside my range of experience and people can tell. I will always be something of an alien, something of an outsider. Something of an acceptable loss.

People are afraid; people are right to be afraid. And I'm right there with them. I only wish I could see a solution.

Let me summarize the bullet points:

After her and her witch friend go eat, "'crazy' people start becoming attracted" to her and her "crazy chaotic energy."

Her witch friend then did a "witchy thing" where she would shoot a "burst of energy" at the crazy people to chase them away.

Her witch friend then had the "journalist" bend over and hold onto a rock while she pushed the "demon" out through her's feet.

Yeah, that should be a huge red flag in itself.

Oh, and this is all crowd-funded and the "journalist" claims her trip cost $3000 dollars!

Yes, people paid $3,000 for this "journalist" to visit a free conference and report about getting possessed by a demon who made her attractive to "crazy" people, forcing her witch friend to ward the "crazy" people away by shooting bursts of energy at them.

I do wonder about this story. Like, mundane explanation is that she had some sort of panic attack she confused with demonic possession in the conference for some reason. Another possibility is that she... just made it up. Her transphobic talking points are already dishonest. So I wouldn't put it past her to lie and make up this event altogether.

Although the most interesting possibility to me is that she was a closeted system all along, and the talk of plurality triggered a dormant headmate to try to reach out to her.

Whatever the case, I kind of hope it wasn't a lie.

It's way funnier to imagine that she really did believe she was possessed, and her witch friend really did wave her arms around in the air to "shoot bursts of energy" at bystanders. And it worked because... well... would you go near the weird lady who looks like she's angrily pretending to launch fireballs at you?

It's way funnier if you imagine that this was a real thing that actually happened! (The actions they took that is, not the demonic possession. No, a plurality conference did not cause you to become possessed by a demon.)

Anyway, here is your reminder that plurality isn't a mental disorder, nor is it demonic possession, and the gender identities of headmates deserve to be respected as much as anyone else's.

One more thing, in the video, the "journalist" acts absolutely shocked to hear all these systems around her standing up and talking about being a system. Even when the talk was listed on the website as being about plurality!

Seems like a so-called "journalist" should have already known about what she was attending, and expected there to be other plurals in attendance!

Complete side note, it's so awesome that plurality is becoming more visible and normalized, to the point where events like these are happening around the country! Never doubt that progress is being made, however slow it seems at times!

"Halloween Theme Park" Pt. 2 Wolverine and Deadpool

SORRY I GOT REALLY LOST IN THE SPOOKY SAUCE THIS YEAR. THIS IS LATE. I'M TRYING. We're going to do a series of asks based on the same prompt of going to a theme park that does horror mazes in halloween (see: HHN at Universal Studio, Knotts Scary Farm, Fright Fest at Six Flags, etc). We've done the scarecrows and I'm switching up the order. It's going to be these guys and then Rogues Party! (hopefully on time for halloween if it's not i'm sorry)

You do need to convince him to go, partly because this man has PTSD and he's worried about his reactions. It ends up not being an issue, he's able to keep his cool around civilians dressed up. He might tense at moments, but it's relatively minor. A touch from you on his arm and he relaxes.

He is the guy who says "I'll protect you, babe" and means it. If it's just a scare actor getting too close, he just holds you and sort of puffs up so you know you're safe. Gives them a smart-ass response if they try to banter. If it's actually a rude guest or someone drunk bumping into you, he's growling, showing those sharp canines and telling them to fuck off. Just uhhhhh be careful because he'll literally fist fight for you too which might get you kicked out :/

Everything is too expensive and he's only buying this ONE THING because you were making starry eyes at it. You probably are saying you don't even need it and he's pulling out his wallet and hard cash for it. Mentally it's to make up for the fact he's going to the designated smoking area at least once in the night even if you don't partake. Helps him shake off all the weird smells of the park.

He's kind of indifferent to most mazes? He's... genuinely sort of seen everything in terms of monsters, aliens and mutants. If anything, he'd be impressed if there was a maze with something he HASN'T seen. As for things he doesn't like... Clowns. He's not scared of them, he just dislikes their smug foolishness. And there's always one that takes the joke a touch too far. In terms of fear or triggering, he really does not like anything that's tight spaces with sudden loud sounds such as, say, a WWII trenches theme.

Deadpool

You do not need to convince him to go, even if his PTSD could be a potential problem. Not because he'd do anything but certain themes or mazes could trigger him to panic a little. Will he deal with this? No! No, we combat everything with humor here, it's fine. As long as it's not a major event, there's nothing to worry about.

He will also say "I'll protect you babe" but the moment something or someone gets him good, he's jumping into your arms like Scooby does for Shaggy. If there was real danger, of course he'd protect you. This, though? Nah, he's a damsel, let him comically hide behind you with all that beef.

Other than that he banters with the scare actors. SO much joking around. And the cheesiest jokes! He sees anyone kind of body horror and fucked up and he greets them like a long-lost cousin for the bit. If he can get you to join in on the banter, that makes it even better. The scare actors that are off to the side areas, starving for interaction? He gives them everything they want and more.

He buys stupid merch. Not only does he buy stupid merch, if there's carnival games where you can win stuff at this park? Babe, pick what you want, he's got this. You are taking home at least one stupid gigantic plush that you can hardly hold. Wade is just really good at that sort of thing and likes to spoil you. Hard to get scared when you have a dracula teddy bear to squeeze!

Themes Wade really likes: Aliens, ones with the fake guns you get points on, vampires, magic- He's pretty open-minded. Themes Wade hates and potentially are Actually Upsetting for him: Storylines where a character has DID for multiple reasons, unreality (he has enough of that on his own, thank you), Military PARTICULARLY MILITARY EXPERIMENTS/TORTURE.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: "Regina Regina In Zionist Blue" is a passionate nuanced poem written from the heart. A tale of two Jews, it is a call to action & reflection in a time of misinformation, exploitation of trauma, and genocide. A poem from an anti-Zionist Jew (myself) to a Zionist Jew (but really all Zionist Jews.)

I used to love Regina Spektor 's music. Her songs were one of my go-to's in good times and bad. But when she came out as a hardcore Zionist after the attack, her songs became this reminder of genocide and a symbol of every interaction I've ever had with Zionists. To be clear, I don't fault people for having strong feelings regarding the attack on October 7th. But to only have compassion for Israelis and nothing but viciousness for Palestinians, I feel is fucked up. Especially given the history and the current genocide.

For weeks, these heavy feelings were building up inside me, and then once I heard Macklemore's "Hind's Hall", it had to come out. I had to write this poem.

The poem delves into the history, trauma, toxicity, ideas of safety, solidarity, and more. My hope is that it will make some people think and re-think what they've been brought up with, and take action.

That said, “summers in the city”, “fields below”, ”blue lips”, “dance anthems” and “pavlov's daughter” are references to her song titles if anyone was a bit confused.

I’m having a really shit time

I know none of you give a fuck about my personal life, but honestly i’m just putting this here because I need to expel it and it’s too long for fucking twitter and i’ve already ranted enough to my friends.

I’m so fucking tired. I’m so fucking burnt out it’s honestly a miracle I haven’t been checked in somewhere yet. I’ve had a lot of bad years. I’ve survived a lot. But honestly I think this past year has been one of my worst, surely in the bottom five.

My health and anxiety have been a huge part of that. I’ve dealt with panic attacks since I was a teenager, but i’ve had more in the last year than I have over the rest of my years combined. I’m wearing a fucking heart monitor as I type this for fuck’s sake…

Work is truly the biggest trigger. I started working at frog design at the end of 2019, and I thought, truly thought, that I could stay there for the rest of my career. I loved it, I loved the people, I loved the work, I loved being surrounded by creativity and innovation and real fucking work that actually matters. But when frog got bought out by Capgemini in 2021 everything went to shit. I haven’t had a raise in three years. I make less than 30 dollars an hour, and I live in one of the most expensive cities in the world. I’ve been poor my whole life, this isn’t new to me, but with the amount of responsibility i’ve taken on, the amount of work i’ve put in, it is fucking despicable that I make as little as I do.

When I started at frog, I was an office coordinator. Now, not only am I still that, i’m also the event manager, as well as a part of the facilities team that manages the entire west coast. I step up whenever and wherever I can and I am given nothing in response to that effort. I managed the move of three offices into one giant space that capgemini and all its fucking subsidiaries are now required to work within together and I got absolutely zero credit for it.

There’s this fuck that I work with, this misogynistic shell of a man, who every day talks to and treats me like garbage. He’s undermined me, spoken to me like I am a child, blatantly told me that I am “far too down in the hierarchy of this company” to be able to talk to certain people. Meanwhile, this man pulls me into conference rooms multiple times a day to ask me to speak with frog management because he ��can’t do it himself”. I held a pride event a couple weeks ago, part of which involved me doing an informative talk about the different pride flags, and he had the audacity (as an openly gay man) to shout out obscene and offensive stereotypes while I was trying to educate the rest of my colleagues. I don’t know what to do. I know that if I escalate this (which I can only do through HR as my manager is an incompetent moron who only calls me to bitch about her boyfriend) it will only make my situation worse. This man is an executive assistant to an asshole just as pompous as himself, and yet he somehow thinks he has jurisdiction over the entire office.

I have the biggest event of my career tomorrow. 500 external attendees. I’ve tried to manage the entire thing myself, but with the rest of my workload, I can only do so much. I know that it’s going to be a shitshow, and at this point, there’s nothing I can do about it.

Three weeks ago I worked seven hours overtime (at another event I managed with over 200 external attendees) and I did not get paid for a single minute of it. The same will be the case tomorrow.

All this is to say i’m tired. I’m so fucking tired I don’t know how I manage to wake up in the morning. To anyone in a similar position: I see you, I appreciate you, I recognize you.

Just after that you heard a "Let me go!" then muffled after, oh no. I quickly glanced at the glass windows, seeing that teacher touching the MC or Hikari so inappropriately. Worse that he was about to kiss her and she was a crying mess.

"Stop going and deciding things for me. I already told you it's late." It was futile. He took your hand yet again. And walked out to see Nori outside on the verge of snapping.

"What the hell took you so long Tadahiro?! You want me to keep on waiting for you till Christmas?! Hell no! It's 7PM/19:08 goddamnit..!" Nori snapped and boy he was really scary, like literally, his voice was so loud it echoed throughout the halls.

"And you! You could have at least tell him to fuck off!" He scolded you too, and damn he was harsher on you.

He shoved Hiro's grip on your wrists that left a mark and pushed you, falling on the floor with a thud.

Your instincts are too glare at the man with hatred. And Nori took Hiro away. Hiro didn't even glance at you nor tried to help you out.

You stood up and dusted off your clothes and walked to the other exit. You heard them arguing outside.

"What does it say?" Bakugou asks, his tone calmer as he takes a step closer to you to show you the new markings on the map.

What you see are four symbols, drawings of four different pictures.

The first is a ship with billowing sails and a skull-and-crossbones flag, signifying the legendary pirate ship, you explain to him as you point it out.

The second is a locked treasure chest, suggesting something hidden or protected.

The third, a depiction of a cave entrance partially obscured by vegetation and shadows, conveying the concept of a secret or hidden location.

Lastly, a representation of the sun at its peak on the summer solstice day, symbolizing the specific and rare event required to unearth the treasure.

Somehow, this old map knows exactly where the Captain's treasure is hidden. You look at the captain, and your eyes meet. A spark flashes between you, and your heart skips a beat.

"So, what's the meaning of the code?" he asks you.

"A pirate ship, a locked treasure, a cave entrance, and a sunny day. It's as simple as that," you answer him. "I'm willing to bet on the summer solstice, that's when we should find the treasure."

"But how will we know where to look?" he continues to question.

"We'll just need to figure out what part of the island this map is referencing," you state confidently.

"But this island is huge. We don't have time for that," he grunts, becoming agitated again.

"I'm sorry, do you have a better idea?"

"Well, no, but-"

"Then let's start looking. It's the only way."

With that, the Captain turns on his heel, heading back toward the ship. You follow closely behind, hoping your guess is right. But before you can get back, a group of unshaven men jump out before the two of you.

"Thieves," Bakugou grinds his teeth.

"We've come for the treasure," the apparent leader, a tall, broad man, says, his eyes darting to the map in Bakugou's hand. "Show us where it is!"

"Do you really think I'll just let you make off with what's rightfully mine?" Bakugou sneers.

"I think you have no choice," the man threatens as he nods to something behind you. Then, before you can even react, a knife is placed at your throat. You gasp and look at the map in the Captain's hand. If you don't get your hands on it, he'll surely let these strangers kill you.

"Give us the map," the thief demands.

"Never," Bakugou spits.

"Then we'll kill her," the leader threatens as one of his lackeys holds the knife closer to your neck.

"You'll never find it without the map," Bakugou says, taking a step toward the leader.

Just as tensions escalate to a dangerous level, Bakugou's fiery resolve takes over. In one swift movement, he pulls out your knife and lunges at the thieves with an intensity that catches them off guard. With some seriously good precision, he slits the throat of the man holding you hostage, knocking the weapon to the ground.

Before the others can react, Bakugou has disarmed and killed all three remaining men. As the bodies fall, the last man standing, their leader, grabs his weapon and aims it at the Captain's heart.

You stumble back, your heart pounding. He just saved your life at the cost of his own. You've never seen anyone fight like that, and you're stunned at the sight.

"I-I'll kill you!" the leader shouts.

"Go on, pull the trigger then. Put me out of my misery," the Captain groans as your foot knocks against the knife that was previously at your throat.

"Gladly," the thief snarls, ready to fire.

You have no idea what's coming over you, but as you watch him about to shoot, you grab the knife and throw it as hard as you can, aiming for the head of the thief.

The blade buries itself into his skull, and his arm falls to the side as he crumples to the ground. You stand frozen, your eyes wide as you realize what just happened.

You didn't know you had that in you.

As the dust settles and the threat is neutralized, you fall to your knees, shaken by the close call. Bakugou, his anger momentarily replaced by concern, rushes to your side, placing a gentle hand on your shoulder.

"Hey, are you okay?" he asks.

You can't speak, you just nod slowly, taking a moment to process what just happened.

"I had no idea you could do that" he grumbles as he extends his hand.

"Neither did I," you confess as you take his hand and stand back up.

"You saved my life," he says, still shocked himself.

"Don't mention it," you reply with an attempt at a smile. "I've never killed someone before."

"You'll get used to it," he tries to comfort you, but it does little to ease the nausea welling up inside you.

"I hope not," you whisper. "I think I'm going to be sick."

"Take a minute, Princess. Catch your breath."

"God, you've got to stop calling me that. It only makes me feel worse."

"Fine, what's your name then?" he asks, clearly annoyed.

"Oh," you hum softly, looking up at him. Had you really not told him your name before now? "It's Y/N. L/N Y/N."

"Okay, well, now that we've introduced ourselves, let's get moving. We've wasted enough time already."

You nod, your head still swimming from the earlier excitement. This isn't your first time on an adventure, but you've never come face-to-face with death like this before.

You follow Bakugou's lead as he continues his march toward the ship, your thoughts racing with questions and doubts. You're not sure how all of this is going to go down, but one thing's for certain; things are only going to get more complicated from here on out.

Hi, do you know any Jewish gen x and millennials? Because I just, wondering how their dealing with the left handling of the Palestine-Israel conflict. Because I would go “Is this the hatred my elders was warning me about?”

How can one cope, after dealing with the generational trauma of a event that created the term genocide only for people that supposedly said “never again” to go and speak the same way the Nazis spoke about your people.

I forget how to pronounce this one, it'll sum up the response you'd get from most of the community though I think.

Gen-X and older millennials in my observation have been bracing for this for a while now, I don't have any Jewish friends I regularly chat with at the moment most are way too busy but I try to keep an eye on as many people as I can and let them know I'm available if they need something, anything I can do at all.

This all isn't just to try and change anyone's minds about Israel or palestine mind you, since all of this is pretty well known it's not likely to do that anyhow, so no real point in trying anymore.

Frederick Appreciation Post!

Sorry in the mess kinda style and born from various emotions tbh - the goal is to feel better towards thinking him as the best boi tbh ^^

As in, thinking more about him - Frederick! ~

Him being the Green Plaid Prince ultimately makes him the green flag too - there's so many examples but only in Gwen's dinner arc alone he keeps helping people that he knows care about him and being very supportive to Gwen <3

His character is so complex, the pioneer of the redemption trio - as he indeed make mistake that basically the trigger of the story unfold with unintentionally making Gwen hurts and then she meets the CPC. But it's not coincidence, as giving ultimate breaker for his father's evil plan. He indeed jerk and sassy and judgemental on early appearance but I know LambCat has stuff in store to gives layers for him and that's turn out right! Dark troubled past that's relatable but very capable of goodness - he just need an angel of the fortune (Gwen) to guides him to the light path and have mutual "special" relationship in form of respect and cares to each other = relationship goal, totally! This what healthy (love) should be! And he totally capable of goodness like what his sudden surprise! mentor at the street when wants to meet Gwen, Whitney, that later on becomes part of the CPC says - his pain although "subtle" is valid so he shouldn't belittle his own as 'insignificant' but he didn't need to wallow too long as once he feels ready - He could change his story, ultimately changes story roles. First part he painted as unaware villain, then later we learn how he could be a very nice supporter as simple a friend to Gwen. He's judgemental but that's his defense mechanism, and yet at the same time he isn't afraid to admit his mistaken opinion-ask forgiveness-and totally making amends out of it.. He just need to be pointed out gently about where his mistake!

Trauma & Accountability Regarding Zionism, Israel & Palestine

by Michele Sommerstein Generally speaking, when a person from an oppressed demographic expresses their feelings about their past and/or present persecution, be it social and/or systemic and the trauma that can ensue, it is unethical for those who are not experiencing said trauma, to police their tone in the name of one's own comfort.

At the same time, there are situations where there needs to be a certain level of accountability on the part of the trauma survivor.

For example, let's say as a woman, I am out one night, and due to no fault of my own, I am robbed at gunpoint. Since that event, traveling at night now triggers (in the psychological sense of the word, not just merely bothered as it's often misused) and brings me back to that moment of violence. In response, and not by choice, my body goes into fight or flight mode (which I am not aware of) and I feel desperately unsafe all over again. So, in the name of feeling any semblance of security, I start to have thoughts of how I "must" attack people around me, “before they can attack me”. A thought rooted in trauma that in time I have started to physically act upon. In reality, no one in these moments is attacking me nor has the intention to do so, but one's perception can be skewed during a trauma response.

And so in this case, while my trauma explains my behavior, it does not justify it. In that moment, we can truthfully say that I am simultaneously a victim of past violence and a perpetrator of such. One can be both for while present actions do not negate the existence of my past, my past does not negate nor excuse the immorality of my present actions.

But if you were to point out how unethical my behavior is, especially during a trauma response, and particularly without first acknowledging my trauma, though factual, this in itself would be triggering. "How could you say that? I am a victim!" I might say. Because in my mind, I "need" to attack these people for otherwise I will "never be safe". That's not actually true, but that is what I believe to be true, for when one has a trauma response, it can be difficult to separate what happened in the past from what is happening in the present.

Obviously, the logistics are far more complicated than the previous example. While it is true that antisemitism thankfully no longer occurs at the level that it has in the past, it certainly still exists. But the example remains applicable because while trauma explains what is happening, or at least partially, it does not justify it.

Ideally, people who have survived trauma would be empathetic to others who have also experienced such things. And yes, sometimes going through trauma can make you more compassionate to other survivors, but sometimes it can lead to one becoming hyper-self-preservational.

That said, some might find it odd that Zionists (more than not) do not see the similarities in the trauma that both Jews and Palestinians have experienced. For example, both Jews and Palestinians have experienced violent Pogroms. Many Zionist Jews do not view Palestinians as full-fledged humans, but rather as animals, just as the Jewish people were viewed in The Holocaust, which was then used to justify their oppression. (It's not okay to oppress actual animals either, but that's another article.) How can Zionists not see the similarities in what Jewish and Palestinian people have endured? Perhaps at their core, they do, but Zionists go to such great lengths in their minds to justify the persecution of Palestinians, because they're convinced that without the state of Israel, "they will never be safe".

They are so quick to weaponize our trauma and grief literally and otherwise (going way before October 8th.)

Zionism needs us to never fully relax. Zionism needs us to need Zionism.

However, one could factually state that despite their supposed goal of safety, Zionism has not taken many constructive actions that would work towards this. Now. before we delve a bit deeper into this point, the following should be noted: 1.) When they say Zionism speaks of a Jewish state and keeping The Jewish people safe, really what they mean is Zionist Jews. Not all Jews are Zionists and The Zionist movement isn't fond of the ones who are not.

Yes, it is true that some people do use the topic of Israel, Zionism, and Palestine as an excuse to be antisemitic, which must always be called out (just as it must be called out when people use the topic as an excuse to be Islamophobic), That said, one can validly speak out against Israel's violent policies without being antisemitic. Despite the great lengths Zionism goes to falsely equate even valid criticism of Israel with being antisemitic, there is a difference between being antisemitic and anti-Zionist. That said Zionism can not factually say that Jews will never be safe without Zionism or Israel. Besides the fact that consequences exist (see October 8th, 2023), it is also impossible for any group to oppress their way to safety. It is also immensely and grossly unethical to do so.

And yet Zionism continues to dangerously provide Zionist Jews with very different information than what the rest of the world has access to. They falsely claim that people hate them and are against Israel, not because of unjust policies, but because they want Jews to never be safe and free.

This is not true, but because Zionism tells Zionist Jews that The Jewish people can never be free without Israel, it creates this multi-layered trauma-induced desperation that results in the support of violent policies, which then creates a greater risk of violent consequences, which highly works against the so-called goal of safety.

Now when the word is used, people have to question: did you mean actual antisemitism or just anti-Zionism? And while Zionism has yet to provide this safety that it has been promising for decades, I have seen Jewish-led activist groups such as Jewish Voices for Peace, and Jews for Racial & Economic Justice (among others) who do not isolate themselves from other marginalized groups, creating solidarity and community.

Jewish-led groups who knows that the powers that be strive and benefit from pitting Jews against Palestinians, and refuse to fall into their trap.

Who unapologetically decries the persecution of Palestinians and is clear and loud when they say #NotInOurName Who knows that isolating ourselves will not only fail to keep us safe but also does not honor the fact that many marginalized identities intersect with the Jewish identity.

Who knows that “the people united will never be defeated” is not just a meaningless chant you hear at protests, but that all marginalized people are safer and stronger when we stand & unite together. This is what safety looks like. And lastly Jewish-led groups who are letting the world know that despite the trauma, groups who honor the trauma, who are mindful of the trauma, who refuse to let the fear from the trauma, cause more pain to others as well as ourselves while failing to keep us all safe.

Point being:

They all were vulnerable kids that got too much power at the wrong time & or lost too much at once that triggered the fall. They didn't start out evil, they weren't naturally bad, just not ready, not stable, inadequate or neglected,  some even abused.

What If? A volatile Peter Parker got superpowers

Outside events escalating around them combined with their own dramatized inadequacies as people created their fall as villains. Not out of ambition but inadequacy given too much power where therapy & healthy relationships should've been.

Stewart specifically only ended up with power because he was being manipulated by someone else in the first place, promised glory, and got disappointed (mainly due to him having zero charisma & little social awareness): And in that disappointment he lashed out and made bad decisions.

He could've forced himself on Roxie, he could've even held her prisoner/Hostage/ enslaved or tormented her in a PG-13 Fashion like stalking or destroying her home *knowing where it is;

But he left her alone, the ONLY reason she ended up in his sights again is because she went to him to reason with him.

It says a lot about him that he didn't physically do anything to her initially or didn't so much as kidnap her, but he did rob a bank and just went home to play video games. That's it.

It only escalated, yet again, because Megamind antagonized Hal because he wanted his glory days fix. 

The same selfishness that uprooted Hals life and created Titan in the first place, but Megamind got the happy ending. Most people don't really meditate enough on that fact.

And notice how them being incels comes second to their tragedy, I didn't even need to label them that to make the point. Outside of this question, Its not even necessary to describe them or label them as such despite the fact that they are involuntarily celibate even post-upgrade, despite being gods, their story is more relevant to them than the label. 

That's why they work as "incel" characters.

Out of the 5 only 1 of them managed to loosely, painstakingly redeem himself.

Just one.

The worst one.

Only one.
