If there was any bias it’d be for the fact that Leclerc also opened his DRS (when he shouldn’t have) and yet didn’t get investigated.

However in both cases it was a) done by mistake, and b) mitigated by the driver not gaining anything, hence there was no penalty awarded.

And no, this wasn’t some big conspiracy to hurt some teams and benefit others, it was a third party component failure on the Mercedes.

charles opened his drs accidentally too 🥴 so maybe well done for fred, not digging that hole deeper

yeah that’s what i’ve been guessing he’s been diminishing the george’s stuff. charles was not noted but ig merc would have looked deeper into everyone’s footage if he did and fred was afraid it would penalized charles too. i do want to see fred more aggressive on those matters tho like please do try to get those guys penalties even if they’re unfair!!!! where’s your rage!!!!

Look listen I know this is a max question but you always have interesting thoughts so I’m asking anyway in case you have something to say about it

Cause max seems real frustrated with the car right now and rumour kind of has it that red bull are behind on the engine development for next year, especially losing out to mercedes. Geroge is having a great season so far but if max decided to jump ship and come knocking on toto’s door …. would merc throw russell for verstappen? Or where else would max go?

At the end of the day if Max Verstappen comes knocking you take him. It’s a real shame for George, he’s on excellent form this year, but there’s no way that Toto will give up Kimi because another major team will snap him up now that Toto has shown his hand and shown the world what Kimi is capable of just in the first few races. It’s painful for George though, I feel for him.

he then responded by.....limiting the powers of the committees that investigated him and making it impossible for whistleblowers to operate within the organisation.

and this entire paragraph on his wikipedia page is similarly damning

barring people who refuse to sign NDAs from meetings......but sure the FIA is a functional organisation that can be trusted and totally has absolutely zero corruption or motive to favour or disfavour a team within a grand prix.

So I've had these 3 rules

You always always have to do better than your teammate

Never trust a team principal

We don't talk about the performance before the performing happens

Ones that I've never worded as rules but could be

Remember the difference between the man, the driver, and the blorbo

In Chris Medland we trust (mind your sources)

Don't tie your sense of morality to your blorbo

Other than that if I had to come up with more I'd say, in no particular order from the top of my head

Keep the fandom in the fandom

Every hobby needs a bit of hating but being a hater is not a hobby (if you spend more time being a hater than an enjoyer you need to move on)

It's a fun job but it's still a job (it's a workplace, they are employees, those are their coworkers)

Never attribute to conspiracy what can be explained by literally anything else

I'm not usually one for conspiracy theories but my God McLaren are a walking one. You can't convince me the fia don't have some kind of money tied into McLaren winning and you honestly can't convince me that somehow George and Charles both had problems with Drs when it benefits Lando so much. And the fact that Mumtalakat Holding Company is a shareholder of McLaren? Yeah I don't believe in coincidences when it comes to mclaren. I need a double dsq to feel better at this point.

(Charles did so so good though, keeping Lando behind with Drs for so long! Has never let me down when it comes to his race craft ever)

For those of you who may not know: Mumtalakat Holding Company is the name of the sovereign wealth fund of Bahrain. I’ll just leave that there.
