What do you do for work?

i'm a physicist and i love the little thrill i get out of saying it 🫶 although the reality is a lot less glamorous. a LOT of broken code. little pay for crazy hours. but the thrill of for a second being the only person on earth to know something (before you run over to everyone in your group to announce the Thing has finally worked).....unparalleled. that's how research gets you despite it all.

i am quite autistic and quite adhd and sometimes the two things cancel out so i appear normal (ie. the autism makes me Fear social interaction like i am approaching a dark cave, the adhd makes me seek it out for a dopamine boost). i have scored the highest combined score out of all the phd students in the physics department where i work on those questionable online tests, (and physicists are a weird bunch). but i only got diagnosed two years ago because i learnt early on how to mask and was good in school. getting a diagnosis was such a vindication for me though, finally there was an explanation for why it felt like i was playing life on hard mode despite being very decently intelligent.

2. stealing the cheating theme again lol it's never been confirmed to me but my mum used to be married to my dad's best friend and i'm pretty sure they cheated on and off with each other throughout their 20s and reconnected in their late 30s after my mum divorced her first husband

3. i almost hooked up with a european royal without realising a. who she was and b. that she was flirting with me (my autistic ass had to be told explicitly by my friend after about both these facts.....). i exaggerate slightly but in retrospect having your hair brushed back behind your ear by a girl who you just met while she compliments/fiddles with your earrings and her inviting you on for 'drinks and afters ;)' when she's apparently usually very reserved.....what could've been.....

joking, the way i handled my first relationship and the subsequent break up. i wasn't mature about it, lost a couple of really good friends, and hurt more than one person in the process.

my independence. i'm very happy w my own company and willing to just do it by myself. 2. my brain. i fry it a lot from social media but when i actually take care of it i don't mind saying it's a pretty remarkable thing. 3. everyone always says i'm very warm/kind/easy to open up to. i like that i'm good with people.

29. How different is your actual adult self from how you pictured it when you were little?

Lesbianism I guess? I would always be so reluctant at the thought of having to come home to a man at even age 5

weed, it really just doesn't sound like a fun time. i already live with my sensitivity dialled up to the max i'm not going to voluntarily heighten my senses and possibly induce paranoia when i can just take cbd for the relaxation effects.

your first kiss story has helped me so much cause I'm almost 20 and haven't had any romantic interaction so far. and like I'm not desperate but I do definitely want to and I'm curious. and I do feel bad when all my friends have kissed people and I haven't, and I've literally managed to figure out my bisexuality without even having had interactions so I'm constantly second guessing myself cause what if it's different when I do kiss someone? anyway thanks for sharing cause it made me feel slightly better about myself.

i had lots of friends but was never well-liked by boys in school, which again, for me a closeted lesbian was a blessing in disguise. but it was SUCH a source of anxiety for me growing up. i entered uni as a full adult and suddenly people were regularly hooking up all around me and i still hadn't kissed anyone, i felt so mortified and it was such a point of insecurity for me. but in the end, the person who was my first kiss ended up (about a year, lots of tinder 'dates' on my part, and another relationship after, lmao) being my future and current partner, so i'm still so overjoyed with how that happened.

re: your sexuality because i definitely relate and part of what kept me closeted for so long is the "well i haven't kissed a girl!" argument, there are other signals of attraction than how your body reacts during romantic actions! my big and mortifying one i have told before on here but i'll tell again is i was sitting on some steps with a friend of mine and this new friend sat with her legs either side of me and made me lean back against her chest and my body genuinely bluescreened, i felt hold and cold and there were zaps going all up and down my skin. for reference i'm very touchy with all my friends but this had never happened before. in hindsight should have been a clear sign that i was into women and i didn't need to wait for any intimacy for the "green light" that it was okay to start identifying as Into Women.

While it's painful to think of what could have been this is why I'm still locked in for a championship comeback. He finds potentials that didn't even existed. This year is STILL our year.

after a long season of lando hating, landoscar also been growing on me a little and I can hear my f1 bestie shout at me in the background at all times how I dare fraternise with the enemy, so it's fun seeing you go through something similar

i have ALWAYS been a landoscar enjoyer i want to make that very clear, i was in that ao3 tag when it was like 20 works long back in early 2023 and was and remain a huge advocate of it. it's a great fun rpf dynamic with so many avenues to explore.....coworkers to lovers, corporate-mandated yaoi, (FINGERS CROSSED) toxic teammate situationship upcoming......

anyway how i feel about it is still summed up pretty well here. it's my party girl of ships, it's my friday night after a long week of work and we're going out out. it's just pure fun! i would recommend landoscar to anyone. tell your friend to get in the ao3 tag, it's an absolute blast in there.
