My Yakuza Man (Kenshin)

Prologue

A few days had passed since I got involved in an unexpected dispute with the Yakuza.

(I missed the last train again today. I guess I'll walk home.)

(I don't want to get dragged into any more weird fights, so I'll stick to my usual route.)

Mai: "Please, let me get home safely without any incidents!"

Man's voice: "Hah! He really came here alone!"

Mai: "Huh!?"

Just as I wished for this, a rough voice echoed from a nearby alley.

(W-What was that!?)

I nervously distanced myself from the alley, sneaking a glance as I walked past.

There, about five rough-looking men were surrounding a man.

Thug 1: "You seriously think you can beat us five-to-one!?"

Kenshin: "Noisy little pests."

Kenshin: "If you're so confident in your skills, hurry up and come at me."

(Wait! Isn't that…?)

My eyes were glued to the blond-haired man being confronted by the thugs.

(This is bad. I need to get out of here before I get dragged into this again.)

(Okay. Mai, just blend into the background.)

Kenshin: "........."

(Huh?! Did he just look at me?!)

(N-No, it must be my imagination! I have to run!)

Thug 2: "I'll wipe that smug look off your face! Take this!"

The thugs finally lunged at the man.

I tried to flee, but...

(At this rate, he's going to be in serious trouble.)

(He might be strong, but five against one? That's just unfair. There's no way he can handle that.)

Mai: "If that's how it's gonna be!"

With trembling hands, I fumbled with my phone, raised it high, and shouted at the top of my lungs.

Mai: "What do you think you're doing over there!?"

Mai: "I've already called the police!"

Kenshin: "Hah!"

Thugs: "Wha—gah!?"

But in the very next moment, the man kicked off the ground and took down four of the thugs in just a few seconds.

Mai: "W-What!?"

I stood there, dumbfounded by his almost godlike strength.

Thug 3: "Damn it!"

Mai: "!!"

One of the thugs, who narrowly avoided his attack, suddenly turned his eyes to me.

Thug 3: "Hey, woman! Get over here!"

His bloodshot eyes locked onto me as he charged forward.

Before I could even think of escaping, he grabbed me and pinned my arms behind my back.

Mai: "Ugh, ah!?"

Thug 3: "Stop right there! Don't move, or she's done for!"

Frozen in terror, my vision blurred, and my legs felt like they would give out. My shallow breaths echoed in my ears as fear took hold.

The blond-haired man squinted at the thug holding me, his expression filled with disdain.

Kenshin: "Using a woman as a shield? How utterly pathetic."

Kenshin: "Did you really think such a cheap trick would work on me?"

Without glancing at me, the man delivered a sharp roundhouse kick to the thug's side.

Thug 3: "Gah, ugh!?"

The thug, unable to dodge, took the full brunt of the kick.

Mai: "Kyaah!?"

As he lost his balance, I was almost dragged down with him when—

Kenshin: "Hey."

Mai: "Ah!"

The blond-haired man grabbed my arm firmly and pulled me into his embrace.

Kenshin: "Are you hurt?"

Mai: "Uh, um…"

(Did he just save me?)

Kenshin: "Answer me quickly."

Mai: "N-No! I'm fine. Thank you very—kyaah!?"

Before I could finish my sentence, he suddenly let go of me and placed his hand against the concrete wall behind me.

Trapped between him and the wall, my mind spun in confusion.

Kenshin: "Your name is Mai, right?"

Mai: "Huh!? Y-Yes, that's right. And you?"

Kenshin: "Kenshin Uesugi."

Kenshin: "You've interfered in fights twice now. Are you truly reckless, or are you hiding some skill?"

Mai: "S-Skill?"

He asked calmly, but I was too flustered to give a proper response.

Then he leaned in so close that I could almost feel his breath, his sharp eyes glinting with a feral light.

Kenshin: "If you're skilled, then you can be my opponent."

Mai: "O-Opponent!?"

(Is he seriously asking me to fight him!?)

Mai: "No, no, no! That's impossible!"

Mai: "I can't fight! I don't have an ounce of skill for that!"

Kenshin: "I see. So you're just a thoughtless woman."

His piercing gaze shifted, clearly losing interest in me.

(This guy is unbelievably rude!)

Anger bubbled up inside me, but I bit my tongue, afraid of provoking him any further.

Mai: "Thank you for saving me."

Mai: "Well then, I'll be on my way—"

Kenshin: "Who said you could leave?"

Mai: "Kyaah!?"

Desperate to escape as quickly as possible, I tried to pull away from him, but he yanked my arm sharply, causing me to lose my balance.

As I nearly fell backward, my back collided with his chest.

(----!)

A shadow fell over me.

I quickly looked up, and he was gazing down at me with an unreadable expression.

In that proximity, our eyes locked.

Kenshin: "You're coming with me."

Mai: "Why?"

Kenshin: "The Azuchi group showed interest in you recently."

Kenshin: "If I use you, I might get a chance to fight them."

(Wait, does that mean I'm just bait to lure them in?)

As I stood there in shock, he let out a soft laugh.

Kenshin: "Mai. You're already mine."

Kenshin: "Don't even think about trying to escape."

The proximity and his whisper, which almost felt like that of a lover's, felt unsettling.

Mai: "..........."

(This guy's a tyrant.)

The dangerous aura around him, along with his perfectly composed appearance, sent warning bells ringing in my head.

Just then, a rustling sound came from the ground.

Thug 3: "Damn it! There's no way I'm letting you leave unscathed!!"

Mai: "!?"

The thug, who had been knocked down earlier, desperately lunged for my legs.

But just before he could reach me, my body was lifted effortlessly.

Kenshin: "Don't touch what’s mine without permission."

Thug 3: "Gah!"

As he hoisted me onto his shoulder, he kicked the thug away, knocking him unconscious.

Kenshin: "Mai."

Mai: "Yes?"

Kenshin: "If you choose to stay with me, I'll ensure your safety. Just like now."

His words were spoken with absolute confidence in his power.

(I just want to live peacefully, though.)

Despite the overwhelming power he exuded, I couldn’t turn away from him.

And so I found myself captivated by this man, who was like a god of war.

After reading Ellis' current event route finally without a translator right before I went to sleep, my mind went to interesting places in the 'trying-to-fall-asleep-phase'. Especially because they kept a certain scene in and it wasn't in awkward japanese euphemisms. Let me tell you, japanese smut is very ... interesting?

Anyway, everything under the cut because sexual territory.

You know, I started to wonder if Kate's the most sexual and um, open MC we have so far. So my mind tried to puzzle together the info of the other MCs I have. If I missed anything (especially ikerev and ikegen) feel free to correct me.

Also, as a note, I mostly referring to how the MCs were like prior to becoming a couple because in basically every game, the moment they start to date, the horny levels rise high.

In IkeRev, we have Alice and while she is older than she looks, considering the time period she grew up, she pretty much was a virgin prior to falling into Cradle. I haven't played much ikerev, so my knowledge is really limited, but while she seemed quite innocent, she also didn't freak out before doing the deed. Also, Seth's route, just saying.

In IkeSen we have Mai who's undoubtly the horniest we had so far. I don't think it was ever mentioned anywhere but I don't think she was a virgin prior to travelling back into time. Also, there was a event (I don't recall which one) where Mai and Masamune are definitely 69ing. Oh, she definitely initiates which is surprising considering how the japanese archetype of a woman is like.

In IkeVamp, we have Mitsuki. I'm gonna be honest, I don't like her and please, please someone take that ugly, plain white bra away from her. Anyway, I'm pretty sure she mentioned she wasn't a virgin anymore; it was just a little comment after (probably) Arthur assumed she had to be one. Who can blame him tho, she does seem rather innocent. At least we've got canon big boy #1, Theo.

In IkeGen, we have Yoshino. My knowledge is super limited, but I do know there was an occurence of Yoritomo teaching her how to do a blowjob. Oh, and prior to ikevil, Ibuki held the title of earliest sex scene and highest amount of sex I believe as well. Could be wrong there.

In IkePri, we have Emma who definitely is a virgin, considering her 'romance has to be like THIS' schtick she had especially in the beginning. Also, her topping attempts never succeeded (tho it's less her and more the writers' fault) and I don't think I have seen her initiating? She is kinky tho, considering how much she's into biting in Chev's and Gilbert's routes.

And then, we have IkeVil. Kate touched herself in Ellis' premium end in the handcuff event and I really wonder, did we ever have a MC doing that? Also, the amount of suggestive content prior to a route release is insane (I'm sorry Victor stans, I know you have it hard with the few crumbs). I do think she was a virgin prior to all of this, she she's rather open from what I've seen. Seriously, lets list up what ikevil presented us so far: William and Kate having sex in chapter 10.5 prior to a relationship, Alfons overtaking Ibuki's record, Roger being canonically big boy #2, the handjob from Kate to Ellis from the every inch of you ecb story, Jude having an actual sex scene (outside from AU stories) way before his release, Harry complaining that he's totally pent up after not having sex for ONE day, Harry and Kate probably 69ing as well, the vore stuff from seams like love and the list goes on ...

Maybe I'm just biased because imo, ikevil is the best game Cybird made so far yet. The stories are intriguing, and the story events don't feel like I'm reading the same over and over, just in a different context. Hell, not even the Don't Look At Anyone But Me event turned me off, even though I hate the jealousy trope in basically every form.

Anyway, that's what my sleep-addled brain came up with. Mai may be the horniest one, but Kate has so far showing more kinky sides, so they're pretty much on par. Again, if I missed something, confused something or anything else, feel free to let me know.

Name: Arundhati Ayyadurai

Brief Profile.

Meanings:

•Arundhati- Washed by the rays of the sun

•Ayyadurai- Clever

‘Aru’ - [A shortened version of her first name.]

A name she allows those who struggle to pronounce ‘Arundhati’ call her + used by most (if not all) acquaintances and close friends.

Date of Birth: December 5th.

Place of Birth: Kerala, India.

Positions/Occupations:

[Former]: Undergrad at California Institute of Technology (Caltech).

She got a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with a minor in Aerospace Engineering.

[Former]: Model.

An international ambassador for luxury brands [ie. Chanel, Dior, Prada, etc]. Her responsibilities included participating in model campaigning for companies, attending shows and managing brand publicity. She enjoyed her work quite a bit and started working at the age of 20.

[Current]: Kunoichi.

She’s worked for several spy masters of the Sengoku Era. Notably, Mochizuki Chiyome and Takeda Shingen. She currently serves as one of Shingen’s famed Mitsumono.

Current + Most Notable Relationships with the Canon Cast:

Sarutobi/Mikumo Sasuke: Her canon partner.

Arundhati’s main ship is with Sasuke.

Takeda Shingen: Shingen is a father figure to Arundhati and in turn he sees her as a daughter.

Uesugi Kenshin: Kenshin and Arundhati come to see each other as siblings. Oftentimes he will call her his kunoichi (much to Shingen’s ever so slight displeasure considering she is one of his Mitsumono).

—> In truth, Arundhati is both a Mitsumono and a Nokizaru (unofficial but everyone who knows her also knows that she’s just as loyal to Kenshin).

• Alternate AU ships: There are alternate versions of events where Arundhati ends up with the following warlords/characters:

Oda Nobunaga and Date Masamune.

Admittedly, these ships are yet to be explored in depth (I just think the dynamics are interesting.)

• Arundhati wears a mask when in her ninja attire for the sake of total anonymity.

Brief Background (pertaining to how she traveled back in time):

Aru’s story starts in Paris where she was finalizing arrangements for her marriage to one of her closest college friends and Michelin star chef, Gaël.

She’d been dating Gaël for a few years at that point and didn’t think twice when accepting his proposal. However, their relationship hadn’t always been the best but both parties were trying to ignore how fast it was all falling apart in lieu of focusing on their respective careers.

It all truly burns down when Aru gets a message from her manager informing her of a particularly amazing opportunity to take part in a modeling campaign and establish her own makeup line based in Kyoto. She found it absolutely perfect since both her father and elder sister Ichiyo were based there (context: Aru’s mother, Janaki Ayyadurai, divorced Aru’s father and remarried a Japanese businessman, Harue Akiyama, when Arundhati was eight. Harue coincidentally had a daughter named Ichiyo. Arundhati and Ichiyo became two peas in a pod in record time and have been each other's closest confidants ever since). Ecstatic, she ran into Gaël’s arms when he came home from work that day to tell him the news. Yes, it would mean pushing back dates of their engagement by a few months, potentially close to a year but that wasn’t too much to ask, was it? After all, the opportunity Aru had in front of her wasn’t likely to pop up again. To her it was now or never and she thought Gaël would be supportive.

Gaël was not supportive.

Gaël was furious.

He lashed out at Aru with venomous words, questioning why she refused to get a “legitimate job” with her degree that she’d worked so hard for. In the end, he proposed an ultimatum: the job or being his bride. Heartbroken and rather furious herself, Aru was forced to realize just how awful her relationship with Gaël really was, how little he valued her and how unhappy she was through it all. She ended up breaking off the marriage, the engagement, all of it, then and there.

She booked the next available flight to Kyoto and was off.

She arrived in Kyoto in the wee hours of the morning, entirely unaware that by midnight of that very day, she would find herself 500 years in the past.

But before that, a party.

Arundhati had texted a group chat of her closest, most valued people in her life (apart from her parents) about the situation. She needed good drinks and her loved ones. And thus, she found herself surrounded by friends and cheer in the penthouse apartment her father had bought for her and her sister, overlooking the sparkling cityscape of Kyoto.

That night, after a few too many drinks, the group found themselves wandering the city. They come across the Honnoji monument when thunder claps in the distance and lightning flashes across the sky. A torrent of rain whips down upon them all and in a matter of moments, they’re gone, separated, sent tumbling through time and space- spread far and wide across the Sengoku Era (also yes, the others in the group are all my other OCs for this verse).

Arundhati arrived in the province of Iga in the year of 1578.

(this would be roughly around the time Sasuke arrives in Echigo and four years before Mai in Azuchi).

Now, “arrived” is a rather plain way to put it. You see, she actually happens to crash straight through the roof of one Mochizuki Chiyome’s home. Chiyome would go on to become one of Arundhati’s very first mentors. She teaches Arundhati all the ninja arts in her possession, shaping her to be a legendary kunoichi. While her life is an undeniably dangerous one, it’s also quiet, still and on a good day, tranquil.

That changes two years into her time in the Sengoku Era.

Takeda Shingen, a famed warlord characterized by his brutality in battle and vast, interconnected network of spies, the Mitsumono, comes to hear about some “bronze blade”.

In all honesty, he thought it to be some funky, insane new weapon at first until he heard various accounts and realized they were just about an insanely talented ninja. A ninja who was ridiculously hard to find.

Yet the second the tracks point towards Iga, he’s able to contact someone who most certainly knows quite a lot about this “bronze blade”.

To keep it brief, Shingen and Chiyome are contacts of one another and he manages to get Chiyome to introduce Aru to him. Rather, he gets Chiyome to let him spectate a training session she takes part in anonymously.

It's worth noting that by this time Ichiyo had started a life in Echigo and had mentioned a few times that she had a sister who looked nothing like her, a foreigner and thus, Shingen knew right away that he was looking at Arundhati.

Things go very quickly from there. Shingen reveals his identity, the fact that he knows where Ichiyo is and that he is willing to take her in as a Mitsumono. She accepts and begins the new chapter of her life in the Sengoku Era in Echigo under the banner of the Takeda.

Aru is reunited with her sister and is a crushing, humongous, gargantuan disappointment to Kenshin who thought Shingen was going to bring back a funky blade to spar with. Arundhati responds to this by saying she would very much like the opportunity to kill him. Kanetsugu then recoils in horror and Kenshin has found an addition to his very small collection of favorite people.

Something I admittedly do not touch upon as much as I should is the effect that such a drastic life change has on Arundhati. This feels like a rather obvious point but I do want to mention it. Aru is light, she’s naturally a warm, welcoming, magnetic person. People find themselves drawn to her because she is charismatic and is able to charm a crowd with ease. At least that’s how she was before traveling to a much darker, much colder time.

Her experience as a ninja obviously reshapes her, changes very core things about her. Here, Aru is otherworldly, distant, detached- just as bright and eye-catching but unreachable, ethereal. Only a handful of people (the court of Echigo, and a few others) can see past that veil.

It’s also worth mentioning that Arundhati is not always a kind person, nor an understanding one (she tries to be but does fail at times), at least not right after the events of traveling back in time.

Even though she is perceptive and loyal, she can be equally as ruthless, have tunnel vision and has lost a part of her compassion throughout the years as a result of what she’d been through herself and what has been done to others. That being said, Arundhati grows. She learns to find the light she once lost and slowly becomes a new version of the person she once was.

The "madness" IMO is veeeeeeeery likely to be Magoichi, considering how batshit insane he was in the stage trailers. Like... the WTF crazy nutcase is so bad it puts Motonari to shame.

Alright, time to set myself up for disappointment.

I'm really not sure about the "beautiful" one, the other guy who has this classy vibe. We already got Kenshin and Yoshimoto, who else even has this kind of froo froo reputation in the Sengoku?

Maybe the Konoe noble family. They were rather close to Nobu and participated in military stuff a few times. This is not normal for "noble clans" at the time, because war is samurai business. The noble houses don't usually do this. But then why "enemy"?

There's also that one guy from Tosa, Ichijou Kanesada, who was also an unusual "warrior nobleman". Or, uh, wait... Speaking of Tosa... could it be Chosokabe? When he was young apparently he had a weak and timid look, so he was called "princess". I mean, he grew up into a pretty tough guy, but in otome land anything goes.

That actually makes some sense. "Akechi did the Honnouji because Chosokabe was his friend" was an existing conspiracy theory, and Nobu had been intending to invade Shikoku when Honnouji happened so...
