The moment your beloved Mai takes your gift and examines it under the lamplight, you're already too nervous to meet her gaze - but you still do, because, it's her expression that has kept you company in the pink-tinted depths of your imagination, during those long nights spent working on the haori. Her eyes indeed are as bright and full of excitement and curiosity as you imagined them to be, the warm caramel shade now having those little flames in it that you wish you could catch like fireflies in a jar, all for you to silently admire in the darkness of the night.

...It takes some courage to present her with your craft, given that she's a known master of the field.

"The design is so pretty! I will try it on right away!"

Mai jumps to her feet and you follow, gently gathering her long brown hair and keeping it out of the way while she puts on the haori. But suddenly, she has to stop.

"What the- My hand won't get through the sleeve? Oh..! It seems like the inside of the sleeve is sewn shut!"

Oh no. No way you neglected such a big detail... You swear you can feel your body melting to a sorry goop that can hopefully slide under the tatami mats and not see another day. You totally disappointed your beloved Mai with your gift now...

"Somehow I don't feel like this is you being clumsy with the needle and the thread... could it be that you were too excited to give it to me that you forgot to check?"

You blink and wonder which option is better for your poor heart to handle, watching Mai get her sewing supplies in the meanwhile, which are always conveniently in close reach here in her room.

"I do appreciate your gift, more than I can tell you! Thank you for the hard work you put into this, I will show you how to fix it right away, so I can put it on already... I can't wait!"

Ghost event (Mitsuhide)

This story made me cry a lot. I only read the normal ending.

Mitsu is ready to leave town for a few days for work. But Mai is grumpy because he didn't let her sleep last night.

I wish I had your problems, guys…

He teased her endlessly, and in the end… she never said goodbye.

And the next day, she defended a colleague from being kidnapped and received a serious stab wound. When she lost consciousness, she thought that she wanted to see Mitsu at least one more time…

And the next moment, she finds herself in the middle of Azuchi castle. A pale and frightened Mitsu runs through her. He can't see her. But we have Masa who does. He leads them to a medium.

I'm surprised myself. He literally can't imagine his life without her.

The medium tells them that they have some unfinished misunderstandings, and if they don't resolve them in the next few days, Mai will forever remain a ghost.

On the way back, Masa teases Mitsu about his bitter comments. And Mitsu confirmed that he is jealous. Masa can talk to Mai, but he can't, I feel so sorry for him. He says that he wants to be alone with Mai, and after a couple of mutual confessions (they both regret very much how they goodbye for the last time) Mitsu can finally see and hear her.

In the morning, he offered to repeat their conversation. They started, but Mai couldn't finish, it's too painful a memory. Suddenly, she felt like she was disappearing, and Mitsu told her that it was because she was returning to her body.

She decided to trust him and… woke up.

In fact, there was a scene at the beginning where Masa explains that she lost a lot of blood, and no one expected her to last until Mitsu returned. But she did, and when he returned, her ghost appeared. Masa thinks it's because she's started to get better.

I remember one of the Mitsu's ending where Mai tells him she won't die until he finds a cure for her. So she did. The will of this couple is simply endless. I admire them.
