I was in the mood for a cheese pizza, a favorite of mine since I was a child. Being as there are no good pizza places close to me, I made my own. It came out great!! The dough was tender, light, and crispy, and the cheeses were ooey gooey. Perfecto mundo. It's so easy to make a pizza, and it only costs a couple of dollars to do it yourself. I love making pizza!!! I wish I had NY water so I could make pizza like they make there, but this is, definitely, the next best thing to NY pizza 🍕 😋😋😋😍

Prince St. Pizza, 49 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91105

PSP Pizza is growing rapidly in the Los Angeles area, and the Pasadena shop is the newest. Specializing in New York style pizza, PSP is actually from NYC and the LA spots are owned by the original family. They say their Sicilian recipes have been in the family for generations. Sauces are made in-house. The sign says made in NYC.
You can get whole pizzas, pizza by the slice, salad, desserts, and beverages. The pizza styles include Sicilian squares and Neapolitan thin crust. There are veggie, and non-vegan options. Some of the pies are named after NYC streets. Very few pizzas have veggie toppings. They’re mostly different cheeses and different sauces. If you want a slice, there’s about a dozen kinds of choose from and they’ll heat the slice for you.
Spicy vodka ($6.25/square): The square was 4x4 inches. I liked it a lot. The sauce was made with prosciutto. The crust was thick and light with a crisp bottom (similar to focaccia). The sauce was very flavorful.
Oakey smokey ($6/slice): smoked mozzarella, basil, pecorino romano, OG sauce. The tomato sauce is on the sweeter side (they have other sauces if you don’t like OG sauce). Smoked mozzarella added interesting flavor. Crust was thin, chewy, and had puffy edges. Not bad but I didn’t like the sauce and the slice was pretty oily.
The interior was fine – looked like a slice house. Nothing too fancy. The pizza types have limited appeal to me (lack of veggies), but I would get the vodka pizza again.

So let me explain something
Deep dish pizza is not only not better than New York pizza... It's not pizza. It's a f***ing casserole. I'm surprised you haven't thought to complete your deep-dish pizza by putting some canned onion rings on top of it. It's a cornbread biscuit which you've melted cheese on
AND THEN
indefianceofgodandmanandallthingsholy
YOU POURED UNCOOKED MARINARA SAUCE atop the cheese, atop THE CHEESE. ON TOP. THE SAUCE. NAKED! COLD! ON DISPLAY LIKE SOME SORT OF SAUCE ~WHORE~.
You know the expression, 'There's no such thing as bad sex or bad pizza'? Your pizza is like sex with a corpse made of sandpaper!
LEMME TELL YOU SOMETHING!
THIS IS NOT PIZZA! THIS IS TOMATO SOUP IN A BREAD-BOWL. THIS IS AN ABOVE-GROUND MARINARA SWIMMING POOL FOR RATS!
Let me tell you something about your f***ing not-pizza; I wanna know when I get drunk and pass out on my pizza, that I'm not gonna drown.
(redacted excessive New Yorker moment)
When I look at your deep-dish f***in' pizza I don't know whether to eat it or throw a coin in it and make a wish. And if I made a wish? It would be that I wish for some REAL F***IN' PIZZA.
Now
NOW
With all due respect, I realize it is very cold in Chicago, very cold, it's windy. You need to be able to, I dunno, have a pizza and then be able to cut it open and then climb inside it like a Tauntaun, to keep warm.
Seriously. Who're you, who're you kidding? Who uses an iron skillet to make pizza? You don't use an iron skillet to make a pizza. You use an iron skillet to fend off someone who tries to serve you f***in' pizza made in a skillet.
Here's how I know I'm right.
You call it 'Chicago-style pizza', you call it 'deep-dish pizza'. 'Stuffed pizza.' You know what we call this? (brings out proper slice)
Pizza.
Alright fuckers which one

There is no secret fourth. If you like all of them, pick one. If you like none of them, pick one. If you dont know what pizza is look at the pictures. No none of the above. Fight. Kill

Papa John's & the Incredible Shrinking Pizza!
Howell’s Homemade Pepperoni & Sausage Pizza (Originally published on October 9, 2013, and Updated on May 11, 2023) My Most Viewed Blog Post When I wrote my first post for this blog back in 2010, I had no idea how many people would be interested in reading what a relatively obscure (as far as the Internet was concerned) attorney-turned-pastor had to say. Almost 13 years and 453 posts later,  I…

I'm celebrating the NY Yankees win and Ben Rice's history making day by eating some NY pizza. I only break this out for special occasions, and I think what Ben Rice did today is a very special occasion!!! I'm very happy for him and for me because he made history and I get NY pizza 🍕 😋 😊 doesn't that look good? I love the pizza that I make, but there's nothing that compares to a real slice of NY pizza 🍕

Slice House, 108 E Palm Ave, Burbank, CA 91502
Tumblr media
I enjoyed my visit to another Slice House by Tony Gemignani and was happy to see them open in Burbank. You can get pizza by the slice or whole pizzas in several styles, including New York, Sicilian, Grandma, and Detroit style pizzas. They also have appetizers, sandwiches, salads, wine, beer, and beverages. They do offer vegan cheese and vegan pepperoni.
Tony wrote the Pizza Bible, won countless pizza competitions in Italy and runs the International School of Pizza. The man knows and loves pizza and his pizzas are made with quality ingredients like 00 flour and his own canned tomatoes.
During my visit, there were 9 kinds of pizza to choose from (for slices). They’ll heat your slice for you. I forgot that a slice is huge. I should have ordered one slice, not two.
Sweet Gino grandma slice ($6.75): sweet tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil. The tomato sauce was too sweet and the dough had hard/tough edges. I think it was too dense. I liked the julienned strips of fresh basil.
Wiseguy NY slice ($6.35): tomato sauce, mozzarella, sweet & spicy Italian sausage, thin pepperoni, ricotta, Tony’s hot pepper oil, green onion. This had a lot going on and the crust was better (soft, puffy edges. The sausage was a bit too salty but overall I enjoyed the variety of toppings and the soft, chewy crust.
Weekdays from 2 – 5 PM, you can get a cheese or pepperoni slice for just $2. Fountain drinks come with free refills. The interior is very casual with booths and several TVs with sports on. It felt like a sports bar. Service was friendly.

theo   is   absolutely   in   LOVE   with   pizza   ,   but   especially   pizza   from   new   york.   he   could   honestly   eat   it   every   day   if   given   the   opportunity.   a   classic   cheese   is   his   favorite   ,   but   he   does   love   pepperoni   ,   combination   &   pesto.   he   hates   BBQ   pizza   &   thinks   pineapple   on   pizza   is   atrocious.
