Chuck vs. The Best Friend Part 2
You and Chuck were sleeping in his bed when his alarm went off. "Chuck...Babe...get your alarm?" you said sleepy. "Yep." Chuck replied as he reached over and shut it off. "Sleep well last night, guys?" You and Chuck quickly sat up when you heard Devon's voice and looked over to see him sitting right beside his bed. "What...?" you asked, confused. "Actually, no. I was having nightmares about people spying on me...which now feels all too real." Chuck said. "My point was that while you two were still here asleep, I'm just now getting home from work. Tough night. Saving lives can get pretty gnarly sometimes." "Tell me about it." Chuck said. "I can just imagine." you added as you crawled over to sit beside Chuck. "So, what are your plans for today?" Devon asked. "Well, you know, I mean, I probably have to go to work." Chuck began. " Mm-hm." "Yeah me too, I might get a pizza with Sarah afterwards...or something, you know? Some girl time." "Cakewalk, huh? Considering your mellow sched... what do you say you help out your soon-to-be brother-in-law and friend?" "What'd you have in mind?" Chuck asked. "Ellie wants me to find a band for the wedding, and I know how much you two love music, and how busy I am. So I was thinking this could be a win-win situation for all of us." "You want us to find a band for your wedding?" you asked. "That'd be awesome, dudes. Thanks a lot." Devon said, patting both your shoulders before walking out. You and Chuck just looked at Devon confused. "What did we just get ourselves into?" you asked.
"We can't do this. How can the general ask us to do this? Was the woman born with stars on her shoulders? Has she never had a friend before? We can't go hang out with our best friend's ex and her new boyfriend like it's no big deal." Chuck tried to explain for you and him to Sarah and Casey, when you went to go meet up with them down at Castle. "I understand that this may be difficult with regard to Morgan..." Sarah began. "No, no, not difficult. Not happening girl. Morgan has been our best friend since kindergarten." you jumped in. "Exactly. We don't know what he'd do if he found out." Chuck finished. "I'm sorry, this is not optional. It's a direct order." Sarah argued. "We can't betray our best friend. How come nobody gets that?" Chuck asked, now frustrated. "Hmm. Semper fidelis. Means "always faithful" in the Marines. In civilian life, it means putting your friends' well-being above your own. I salute you for that, Bartowski and L/N Well done." "Yeah. Thanks, Casey. Yeah, semper fi, semper fi. It's a pretty upside-down world when this guy's the one picking up on the emotional nuances around here." Chuck pointed out. "Yeah seriously! I mean come on Sarah! You're supposed to be the one with more feelings especially when it comes to Casey. No offense." You said, turning to Casey and giving him an apologetic smile. "None taken." "Alright! Let's go tell the general." Chuck said, about to walk over. "As much as I respect your code of honor, nothing I can do about it. Orders before honor this time. Go befriend Anna's new boyfriend." "Well I mean I got to get back to work so I can't possibly..." "Oh! It's okay Y/N! Go on break! I'll cover you." Sarah told you. "O...kay. Chuck I guess I'm coming over to the Buy More with you."
You were hanging around the Nerd Herd desk with Chuck as he was calling up a band for Ellie's wedding and you were still doing some research. It looks like the one that Chuck was calling though didn't work out as he hung up. "No luck?" you asked. "None. You?" "None that sound very appealing." "What was that about?" Lester asked, looking at the both of you. "We're helping Ellie and Awesome find a band for their wedding." Chuck replied. "Then this, my good friends, is your lucky day. We'll handle it from here." "You're gonna help us find a band?" you asked. "You misunderstand. You've found your band. It is we." Lester said, looking at you all excited. "We'll play your sister's big day." he said now turning to Chuck. "Um, wait. Wait a minute. You guys have a band?" Chuck asked. " Jeff." "Lester." "Jeffster." "That seems very fitting." Chuck commented. "Originally, we were gonna go with the name Jester but we didn't want people to associate us with a couple of fools." "Obviously not." you said. Chuck could tell you were teasing and tried not to laugh. "Um, yeah, my sister, her taste runs a little more classic." "But you haven't heard us. Charles, I'd hate to think you two would prejudge us." "Don't be a musical bigot." Jeff said, jumping in. You and Chuck then looked over when you saw Casey standing there, looking at you both then nodding his head towards Anna. It was time. You and Chuck sighed. "Um, I'm sorry, but the answer's no. It just... It's no. It's a flat-out no. I'm sorry." Chuck told Jeff and Lester as you both walked off.
As you and Chuck made your way over to Anna, you heard her and Morgan getting into another argument. "Hey. Hey, buddy. There are some customers over in Refrigerators that might need some helping." Chuck said, quickly jumping in. "All right, I clocked out a couple hours ago, so I'm on my own time here." "Enough, buddy." "You should probably go." you said. "All right, well, I hope you and your new boyfriend are very unhappy together." Morgan finished, walking away. "We're sorry about Morgan." Chuck started. "You both spent your whole lives apologizing for him. Don't you get it? He's never going to grow up." "There's a million reasons to love him but, unfortunately, maturity is not on that list." You looked over and saw Casey and saw that he was trying to get you both to talk to her more. "So Anna, we hear... we heard that you have a new guy ,a new boyfriend, is that true?" you asked. Anna smiled big. "Jason's great. Plus, an evening out doesn't involve me on his handlebars and the Taco Bell drive-through." "I know what you mean. I've been riding those handlebars for years." "Yeah with me running beside the bike." you said, nudging Chuck a little. Anna smiled and laughed a little and began to walk away. Casey was still there, urging you both to continue and you both looked at him, frustrated. "Hey, how would you like to go on a double-date or something sometime?" Chuck called out to her. " Really?" " Yeah. It would be fun!" you said. "Jason's having a party tonight at his showroom. And the only thing more expensive than the champagne will be the cars. You guys should stop by." "Sounds great. Yeah." Chuck said. "Can't wait to meet your new boyfriend." you added. "Okay. Wow." Anna said smiling even bigger and walking away again. "Good job." Casey said when you and Chuck turned to look at him. "I hate you." Chuck said while you just glared.
"Can't believe we have to meet her new boyfriend." Chuck said as you and him sat in Casey's place, all ready to go out for the evening.
Your dress:
"So, you both will go in, being the normal couple you are and I will come as Y/N's cover best friend, and you two, get close to Wang." "See if the skin-covered robot and his girlfriend flash on anything." Casey added. "Is that supposed to be me? That's real nice." Chuck said. "Figure out any connection Wang has to the Triad." Casey continued. "Try to plant this GLG-20." Sarah said. "I'll be in the van monitoring your activity. All set? Let's go." " You know what? Chuck and I have been thinking..." you started. "Stop that." Casey said. "No seriously. If our mission is to betray Morgan, we think we should convince Anna of what she's missing without him." Chuck explained. "There's only one mission here, moron." "Oh, "moron." That's..." "Casey you really need to stop that." "No, it's okay sweetheart." Chuck said looking at you before turning back to Casey. " You know, sticks and stones may break my bones..." "You wanna test that theory, Bartowski?" "Not particularly." Casey and Sarah walked out while you and Chuck looked at each other for a second, both sighing before grabbing each other's hand and heading out.
You were now all that show. Chuck was walking with Anna while you stuck by Sarah, arms linked together.
"So, uh, Anna, what's the occasion for all this?" Chuck asked her. "It's a car preview for an auction Jason's having tomorrow. Sort of an open house for cars." "Oh." You and Sarah then walked up to them. "Anna! These cars are gorgeous!" "They are pretty amazing." Anna agreed. "Oh and thank you for letting me invite Sarah here too." "Oh it's no problem at all!" "Anna, these cars are almost the price of a house. Your boyfriend must be very successful." Sarah commented. "Although, the true measure of a man's success is not in dollars, but rather his ability to love. And if that's true, Morgan is stinking rich, ha, ha." Chuck said. "Aww that's true. I mean, wouldn't you agree, Sarah?" you asked. " I do miss you guys together." Sarah admitted. " You do?" Anna asked shocked. " I'm sure Jason's a great guy. But I'll always think of you and Morgan as the perfect couple. Besides Y/N and Chuck here of course." "She'd say it all the time. Cute couple alert! Here comes Morgan and Anna." you said. "You said that too quite a few times Y/NN." Chuck said, nudging you a little. "Yeah. I did. Not gonna lie."
"Cut the infomercial on the bearded loser. Wang just walked in." Casey said over the comms.
"Ha. That is so strange." Anna said. "What's strange? That I was touching my ear? No, that's eczema. Which is totally normal, not strange. People have it." Chuck said, trying to cover it up. "No, strange Y/N and Sarah even thought about Morgan and I as a couple. To be honest, I didn't think you two ever really noticed me much." "Aww Anna!" you said, feeling sorry. "That's not true, Anna. We have always thought of you as a friend." Sarah said. "Absolutely." Anna smiled big. "Honey, can you come here?" Anna called out, calling Jason over." Jason, this is Y/N and Chuck. And this is Sarah. They're my friends." "Well, any friend of Anna's..." Jason said, reaching out to shake your hands. "Hi." you said, putting on a smile. "Though this is our first time meeting, I feel as though I know every teeny-tiny little thing about you." You looked over at Chuck and gave him a look that told him to cut it out. "All good, I hope. Ha-ha-ha."
Meanwhile, outside, you had no idea that Morgan came down to do some more spying on Anna and Jason. "Hello, douche bag." Morgan said when he spotted Jason. "Okay. Okay. What do we got here?" He then saw you and Chuck standing there with him and he couldn't believe it. "No, no, no. It can't be. Judas and his girlfriend."

“For 15 points, Will Smith’s arrogant cousin Hillary appeared in an episode of NBC’s hit sitcom Blossom. Another episode of blossom featured Don Novello playing the role of Father Guido Sarducci, and Father Guido Sarducci also popped up on an episode of Married...With children. Stay with me here. David Faustino’s character Bud Bundy also popped up all the Fox network sitcom Parker Lewis Can’t Lose. In another episode of Parker Lewis Can’t Lose, Parker crosses paths with grown-up Eddie Haskell, who of course,We all remember from Leave It to Beaver. His next-door neighbors, June, Wally, and Beaver Cleaver were all characters in an episode of the Love Boat. Now there is this other episode of the Love Boat where all of Charlie’s Angels are on board. In an episode of Charlie’s Angels, Dan Tanna shows up from Vega$. But that’s not important right now. Remember when I said Parker Lewis had crossed paths with Eddie Haskell? Well Eddie also popped up on an episode of Hi Honey I’m Home. So did Gale Gordon‘s character Mr. Mooney, who you might remember from the Lucy Show. There’s an episode of the Lucy Show where Lucy crosses paths with Private Gomer Pyle, USMC, who, of course originally appeared on the Andy Griffith show, which was a spinoff of Make Room for Daddy. On an episode of Make Room for Daddy, Danny encounters Buddy Sorrell, one of Alan Brady’s writers on The Dick Van Dyke Show. Alan Brady later appeared on Mad About You, where Ursula was the twin sister of Phoebe from Friends, and Phoebe’s friend Chandler Bing showed up on Caroline and the City, where Caroline draws a popular comic strip that is read and enjoyed by Daphne Moon, the caretaker for Dr. Frasier Crane’s disabled father. Dr. Crane used to hang out at a Boston bar called Cheers, where Norm, Cliff, and Carla encounter Drs. Auschlander & Westphall, but on a landmark 1988 broadcast, we learn that Drs. Auschlander & Westphall never existed and that all of the shows I mentioned in this question are logically the figments of the imagination of Tommy Westphall, Who is the only character who demonstrably existed on what beloved medical drama?” -Adam
