Adhik mass or Purshottam Maas is a leap month which is added every 3 years when a lunar month ends before the sun has moved to a new zodiac sign. Purshottam is an epithet of lord Vishnu, to whom this month is dedicated. Finding a balance in your mind, body and soul during this one month of religious practices will give you benefit for the next 3 years. Since this month serves as a fasting period, for those who can’t fast, you can follow few simple daily routine tips to detoxify your body and mind. 1. Adhere to a better daily routine. Wake up early, following the circadian rhythm of your body. 2. Meditate to nurture your soul. 3. Eat Satvik food. A Satvik diet is meant to include foods and eating habits that are ‘pure, essential,vital, clean and conscious’.
