ISWTF Chapter 4 is coming soon lads! I've had a bit of a break from writing since I've been so busy in the lead up to Christmas but the next chapter is definitely on its way. To tide you over, here's a little sneak preview consisting of some of my favourite dialogue I've ever written:

“That’s a shit origin story, mate,” James said through a laugh.  “Sometimes things are just shit stories,” Remus laughed back, shaking his head fondly. “Shit stories make real life and I reckon most people are just a collection of shit stories.” “Yeah, I’m definitely just three shit stories in a trench coat,” Marlene interjected solemnly. “And at least two of the stories involve scissoring.” “McKinnon!” Reg gasped, his head falling into his hands.  Bloody hell, Sirius had never been happier.

Dorcas: My names Dorcas and my girlfriend was killed by one of my oldest friends and then I had to go face to face with the leader of the cult and I brought airheads

Lily: My names lily and my sister hated me for most of my life and I had a horrible toxic best friend who called me slurs and I brought nerds

Marlene: My names Marlene and I was killed by my best friend, my sister was also kidnapped and tortured and I brought Reeces

Mary: My names Mary and I was obliviated by my headteacher and I don’t remember why and I brought squashies

The only difference is that Marlene knows when James is just trying to show off like the cocky bastard that he is or when he's actually trying to get with someone that he likes. When Regulus and James are talking and James has Regulus blushing, Marlene is hyping James up from behind Regulus instead of heckling him. She did the same with Lily, before slapping sense into him for how he was being a dick to her.
