New crime show obsession?

I've finally decided to dive into the world of Bones and I'm going to take you on the journey with me! So here goes!

I've watched the pilot and am immediately into it. I'm intrigued by the focus of the show as when I'm watching CSI I find the scenes where they recontruct a victims face from the skull really cool and the people who do irl and soooo talented!

Also, the opening scene? The skull in the bag? Obsessed!

Already in love with Brennan and Booth's dynamic, feels very Finn/Russell - there's been some angst in the past that we haven't let go of - I'm excited for their back-and-forth-banter.

Straight away, I like Brennan and Riva, they're funny and cool and I hope they have as good of a relationship as this first episode has shown.

I probably won't write my thoughts on EVERY episode, maybe do mid-season and season finale summaries idk we'll see!

just had the though of John and Arthur having one of them 3 am talks and discussing what it's like to live in a human body and John doesn't quite grasp not being aware of all your various parts and organs all the time and Arthur has to explain that humans CAN be aware of certain things to an extent but thinking too hard about it or suddenly being made aware of it is VERY unpleasant

Cue John making a game of finding quiet moments when Arthur's least expecting it and just

"Hey Arthur?"

"Hm?"

"...Dont think about how your skin feels over your flesh."

Followed by Arthur fucking full body grimacing and yelling at John to "fucking STOP THAT" and John cackling like a baritone bog witch because no it never gets old even if he does it at LEAST once a week

Tastes of Whumptober: Day 10

Is it anything novel? No. But did I fist fight the prompt today? Yes. This is what happened and sometimes you gotta embrace the traditional.

Passing out from Pain

“What was that?”

“Aaaaaagh!!!”

“Use your words, scum!”

Blurred vision could hardly make out the man across the table before another blow came from behind. The stool tilted when they fell to the side, but strong hands forced them back upright and steady. Just minutes ago this had been a sane conversation.

“I don’t know, I don’t-hhhhhhh-” The sound of cane against bone was sickening.

“Your own little investigation? You don’t know who helped you?” He tapped a pen against the wooden desk. Impatient. But held up a hand to stop the barrage from his assistant. “Take a look at this.”

Shuddering breaths ghosted over the desk. Their desk. They duly noted that their head was in their hands. Then there was a hand, gripping onto short strands of hair, and pulling them back up. 

In his hand was a USB drive that brought their heart to their throat.

“You see, we may not have told you the entire truth earlier. We know exactly what you’ve gathered. And we know a conspirator leaked this to you. All I need is your help in figuring out who that was, and then you can go free. After I smash this drive, of course.”

“Fucking bastard- AAAAHH!” A rib snapped loud enough for the entire room to hear, even over their scream.

“Oh, do that again. I had no idea you cried so nicely.” They couldn’t believe their boss was speaking to them like this, after years of working under him completely unaware… And now to be interrogated and tortured in their own office, their blood probably splattered all across the floor, the order to cause that pain again!

“Get- get away from me!” Running hadn’t worked before and there was no escape with the handcuffs around their wrists, but they couldn’t take that all over again. 

A smashed fibula had them on the floor, writhing on their hands.

“Fuck! No-!” A foot on their back now and their broken rib creaked under the pressure. “You’re just going to torture them too!” 

“You silly thing.” He wasn’t stepping on them, but his voice came from above. “I’m not going to torture them. I’m going to kill them.”

More weight, they could’ve sworn they felt another rib crack. 

“I-I can’t even think, please, I couldn’t- nnhhhhhh- I couldn’t answer you if I wanted!” A bold-faced fucking lie: that name was the only thing on their mind right now. Seven letters. First and last name. And it would be over.

The cane on their leg again. Shattering the break. Life faded out of focus.

“Oh, you don’t want to pass out. We’d have to keep you here with us.”

“It hurts- it-”

“And you can stop that. We’ve had you for, what, an hour now? Look at yourself. You’ll never walk right again, for one.”

A violent sob wracked them. It wasn’t true, he couldn’t do that in one night, he just wanted them scared enough to say- they forced their lips shut. It almost fell out then at the mere thought. 

The foot fell away from their back and they gasped in relief.

“I know you can’t see it right now, my little wreck.” The tone was detached, despite the words. “But my assistant has their foot over that precious leg of yours. Imagine what damage that could do if you refuse me yet again.”

The rule of sealed lips didn’t exist when cold panic flooded their heart, labored breathing turning short and desperate. Their head was shaking in disbelief.

“No? Don’t say I never warned you.”

White hot agony, screaming, then nothing.

speaking my truth that the city of bones movie deserved better ✊ i remember watching it as a kid back in 2014 and people can say what they want but they NAILED the ya urban fantasy vibes in that film, plus some of the clary and jace moments were just so sweet………no matter what there will always always be something so nostalgic and dreamy about it to me

I’m sorry but if the first time you use the term “love” on screen to describe whatever is going on between Alina and Mal while Alina is talking to Aleksander, in Alina and Aleksander’s shared dream-space vision, how am I supposed to... not see that as her trying to make him jealous? I’m not seeing any other read here aside from that??

Also could she have undressed the kefta any more sensually than turning her back to him and looking at him over her shoulder? I feel like if you’re not trying to actively seduce him, you could have angrily pulled it off while facing him, but this felt more like seductively undressing for him than anything else.

who do you think is the main ship in sg? (for arrow its felicity x oliver, the flash being barry x iris...) does dansen count as our main ship since alex is the second main lead? or would you say the danvers sisters is technically the main and strongest pairing

oh it’s the danvers sisters all the way! i don’t think the CW’s Supergirl really has a ‘main’ romantic ship—that sort of thing wasn’t really ever their forte. Alex and Kelly could have been it, but only if the writers had actually tried to sell it; i feel their romance lacked buildup, their rapport (to me) always came across more friendly than magnetic, and Kelly was never given enough time to grow into her own person, separate from the roles she played in other people’s arcs. Azie objectively killed it, but even for a supporting character i think she was given very little to work with!

Have a crackpot theory: the people who enjoy most of the new police procedurals that have been coming out recently just secretly wanna watch soap operas but don’t have the Guts

gets up on my little stage with my secret little four followers blog and turns off reblogs. i think that a lot of current mcyt/mcyt fandom rn would be defending anne rice literally suing fanfic writers who shipped her characters. creators do not have a say in fan works or fan spaces for a REASON. they dont get to say what we make just like we dont get to say what they make. if we dont like their work we can avoid it just like if they dont like ours they can avoid it- UNLESS. someone else. decides to shove it in their face. can you fucking imagine. youve got this one story trope that you absolutely hate or that makes you really uncomfortable and this one jackass keeps showing it off to you. and that is somehow the norm for some of these fandoms??? i have seen elder fans cringe away in HORROR at the concept of how involved mcyt creators are in their fanbases. i grew up writing fics plastered with "I DONT OWN THIS" disclaimers on a website that, straight up, Did Not Allow You to post about certain works by certain authors. if an author didn't want you to create any fanwork, you Were Not Allowed. Doesn't that sound familiar. stories are built on top of other stories on top of other stories on top of other stories. it doesn't matter if someone creates something that grosses you out- all those authors who were disgusted by the queer shipping of their characters were ABSOLUTELY grossed out. the point isn't protecting the creators from others' creations the point is to take inspiration from something you love and to MAKE !!
