If I can be in denial that Sweets is dead I can be in denial about the break up.

While I acknowledge it has some poorly aged flaws in its writing, one thing I have to praise the show Bones for is handling the romance between its two lead characters without constantly trapping them in “will-they-won’t-they?” Limbo.

They have a kid.

They fall in love.

They get married with like 4 whole seasons left to go.

And they’re never broken up just to rehash them getting together a million times. They have ups and downs like a real couple but they’re loyal and stay together, and display amazing chemistry.

Waaaaay too many writers think only the pursuit and the pining are interesting, and that the fulfillment of that pursuit should only happen at the finale, because “oh, well once a couple gets their happily ever after theres no more drama or tension. It’s boring and uninteresting.”

And we need more couples like Brennan and Booth being shamelessly in love and anything but boring and uninteresting on screen together.

On rewatch 100000000 and I'm finally starting to notice all the foreshadowing that Zack is gonna do something majorly fucked up.

I'm making my partners watch from season 1 onwards and one of them leaned into me and said "Hey not to be rude but there's something really fucked up about your guy there." And I was like "Yeahhh 😍😍😍" but it really made me take the affection goggles off and. There is something just like, OVERTLY wrong with him, huh? Also all the hints that were so obvious they weren't even hints at that point?? The security interview with Pickering in SEASON 1??

You'd think I'd be a little upset and disillusioned because of the fact that I've dedicated many years at this point to rewriting the series to put Zack back in it, but honestly I'm more excited. I'm about to go on an editing spree. This entire rewrite is centered around the thought that the end of season 3 was out of character not because Zack's not capable of that level of harm, but because he is and they got it backwards. He's too smart and too careful to go down the way he did. Zack Addy would not get put away for a murder he did not commit, he would get away scott free with a murder he absolutely did commit.

Oh uh. I mean. It's about "What if Zack and Hodgins were endgame instead of Angela and Hodgins?" 😇 Nothing to see here

You can tell that season 3 of bones was written during a writers strike because what the fuck was that ending. Zack was gormogons apprentice?? Really?? There was no set up at all for that, it felt like it was completely out the blue and it doesnt fit zacks character at all. Also Sweets was right there, he would have been a much better choice imo. Hes newer to the team, younger and was already experimenting on bones and booth
