I think "they don't even have X" is one of those memes that's actually funnier in its original context than in anything that's been done with it subsequently. Like, in its original context, this is a joke about a man who has lived his entire adult life alone in a swamp cold-reading the atmosphere of a corporate workplace and deciding that appealing to the receptionist's sense of working-class solidarity is going to get him in the door, and it fucking works.

Someone mentioned that white women benefited the most from DEI initiatives, which is true statistically speaking but watching fascist trolls take that and parrot over and over again “White women were the ones who abused DEI the most so it’s not racist to oppose it.” is making me want to pull my hair out and claw my way up the wall. Also, I don’t think white women deserve to be discriminated against on the basis of gender either. That is not a gotcha.

I remmeber there was an arc in X-Men Evolution when all of the teen mutants got outed. Jean Grey was on the school basketball team for years, but as soon as her teammates found out she was a mutant, every time she made a shot during practice they accused her of using her powers to cheat. She eventually just had to quit the team to avoid harassment. Which could be an allegory for nothing.

It’s really concerning to me how many people don’t know that if your brakes go out or accelerator sticks, you can and should PUT IT IN NEUTRAL!!

Not only the videos of people losing control of their car and freaking out, but all the comments on those videos saying “turn the car off!!”

Do not turn the car off, you will lose power steering, and if it’s an electric car and malfunctioning it’s possible the off switch is malfunctioning.

I have had my engine stall on the highway, it’s possible to pull over at that speed without power steering, but trust me it’s better to keep the power on if you can.

Throw the car in neutral, hit your hazards, and safely coast over to the shoulder. If you’re stalled on the highway, stay in your car.

THIS IS WHY YOU CAN PUSH THE GEARSHIFT INTO NEUTRAL WITHOUT HITTING THE BRAKES!

And for the love of god if your car is stuck accelerating DO NOT TOUCH THE BRAKES YOU COULD FLIP YOUR CAR!
