Dinner Date

For STWG daily drabble and, more importantly, for Goldie @steventhusiast. Happy Birthday, you deserve the world. I know you’re asleep right now, but it’s technically still your bday here. 

“Dingus, this is a really fancy restaurant.” Robin leans back in her chair, but her hand plays with the fork on her napkin. 

Steve sips his wine; some of it tips over the edge onto the tablecloth. “What? Can’t a guy take his best friend out to a fancy dinner?” He tilts his head and takes in his best friend. What was once an awkward teen now had a beautiful, but still awkward, woman in her place. 

“Steve, I love our friend dates, but usually they take place in a greasy diner or dollar pizza.” Robin picks the fork up and starts twirling it into her napkin. Steve watches her get mesmerized by the wrinkles that wrapped around the silverware, even though they both know the napkin should be in her lap by now. 

Steve smiles softly, moves his napkin from his lap to the table, and begins to mimic Robin. “Okay, maybe I wanted it to be a special occasion.”

Robin giggles at Steve's poor fork-twirling form and leans over the table to fix it for him. “All occasions are special when we are together, so that doesn’t really mean much.” Robin’s nose scrunches in concentration as she gently guides Steve’s hand. She has done this plenty of times before, guiding Steve where he needed to be. Like taking him to the bookstore near her college so he wouldn’t have to go into sex with Eddie blind, or when she taught him how to whisk eggs properly. Both are equally important skills he now uses in his everyday life. “But you seemed nervous. You keep sipping your wine, and I know for a fact that you hate dry wine.”

Steve puts down the glass that was halfway to his mouth, “It’s not my fault Moscato tastes like candy!”

Robin snorts, “Seriously, Dingus. It’s just me. What’s up?”

Steve puts down the fork and his glass and looks Robin in the eye. “I wanted to ask you to be my best man.”

Steve expects a lot of reactions out of her: excitement, an eye roll, hell, even straight-up rejection. Maybe a little speech about how weddings for them aren’t even legal. Instead, a look of betrayal crosses her face. “You asked Eddie to marry you, and you didn’t even tell me you were proposing?”

Immediately, Steve clenches his stomach in outrageous laughter, nearly having to bend over the table. Steve tries to take Robin seriously; he really does. But she is supposed to be the smart one out of the two of them. 

Rage takes over Robin completely as she reaches over the table to start slapping Steve’s arm. “Don’t laugh, you asshat! I am actually mad at you!”

“Ow—” Steve laughs. “Ow, Robin!” Another giggle escapes him as he gets her to sit back in her chair. “I’m laughing because, of course, I didn’t propose to Eddie without talking to you first.”

Robin settles a bit at this, “I’m confused.”

Steve reaches for her hand across the table; Robin doesn’t hesitate to wrap her fingers around his. “I’m asking you to be my Best Man first, doofus. Before I even pick out the damn ring. Which I definitely need you to steal one of Eddie’s rings for me so I can get the size; man watches those things like a hawk.” 

Robin squeezes his hand, “Wait, why would you ask me that first? Isn’t that kind of backwards.”

“I do everything kind of backwards, babe. Kinda the Steve Harrington special.” Steve rubs a thumb against the back of soulmate's hand. “Of course, I ask you about being my best man first. There would be no wedding without you, so if you say no, there would be no proposing.”

Steve could see tears beginning to fill Robin’s eyes, “What are you saying?”

“Whoever gets stuck with me gets stuck with you. We’re a package deal, babe.” 

Robin throws herself across the table, knocking the wine everywhere. Steve laughs and clenches her tightly. “Of course, I’ll be your best man! Someone’s gotta make sure you don’t hurt yourself going down the aisle.” She sobs.

Steve’s throat gets thick, “Pretty sure that’s the father's job, Robs. And you’d have to fight Jim for that role.”

“Fine.” Robin sniffs, leaning back to look him in the eye. “But I get stand by your side as you make a complete fool of yourself with your vows.” 

“Deal.”

Robin leans forward, placing her forehead against Steve’s. “You and me against the world, babe.”

Steve hugs her tight, “You and me against the world.”

general thoughts on combiners? just curious

I'm rambling about combiners under read more bc it got a lil long. But there's a little Romantic talk and some tiny NSFW talk :)

I think they're neat! At least from what I've seen of them anyway. Technically I only really know the constructicons but apparently the rest of the combiners show up later in season 2 of G1 (The protectobots, the combaticons, The stunticons, I checked the wiki and apparently there's like 5 more what the hell-). Plus from what I've been mildly spoiled about some of the comic happenings apperently combiners can just mind meld with their other members and even bots outside their original Gestalt (that's the right term right?) I think that's pretty interesting all things considered.

I imagine the whole line between you, and, them, and us when about a combiner group is blurry as hell on a given day. So the individualism that happens is kinda fascinating, i think? like with just the constructicons (since I know them lol), they all obviously have distinct personalities and opinions, but they also are all Devastator. I assume because of mind melding, they're all constantly in and becoming each others bussiness everytime they merge. So i imagine it's near impossible to hide anything from your own Gestalt. At least if you mind meld/combine with them. So I'm curious to meet the rest of them/the other combiner groups.

Though this is my x reader blog so I will speak on that a little bit since it's my bread and 🧈 but I think if you willingly get involved with a bot in a Gestalt I think you need to be open to some form of poly if you want things to go as smooth as possible. I don't even think necessarily fully involved with everyone. You could be Romantic/Sexual with one of them fully, but the rest want/need something. Think, "Of course he loves you! I love you." So I imagine one person falling for a bot in a combiner means the whole crew gets involved. Package deal sorta situation. Because I think they'd get jealous of each other really fast if you were only kissing one of them when they all want you/care about you. "How come he gets a cheek kiss when I don't? >:^("

Though I think it could also be kinda funny if everyone in the combiner team isn't down with it even if they do just mutually share feelings for you. Because it opens up the possibility of "God I wanna kiss them so bad, but I fucking hattteee them." situation because again they are all the same person together but are also their own bots individually with their own likes and dislikes. "I need my goodnight kiss so my mind will stfu about it also fuck you- good night."

NSFW talk, but that also opens the possibility that one of your s/o's is usually rough in the berth outta frustration. Whether it's your valve or your spike, they're using you like a toy. Leaving scratches and dents and paint transfers. But they always give and want after care after the fact. Because they do still love you even if that fact may frustrate the hell outta them.

over the last two weeks or so ive played through earthbound two and a half times, and mother 1 three times. replaying both back to back repeatedly has made me realize a lot of things

1.) mother 1 is a LOT more open in what it lets you do, where it lets you go, and when. once you open up the train tracks, you're free to go do the rest of the game in pretty much any order you want. hell, you can make it all the way to R7038xx without ever getting a single melody, which i find to be pretty interesting. not only that, but you dont even need to get most of the party members. strictly speaking, the only one you truly need to get is Loid, and that's just to get rid of the rock on the train tracks. and even then, with the use of an exploit i found out about only a few days ago, you can get rid of him and go fight giygas by yourself, which is pretty funny.

2.) mother 1+2 is like, wicked impressive. nevermind the fact that they crammed earthbound onto the gba, they also packaged it with mother 1 as well, and they're both the full games. it ain't no rayman advance kinda deal either where it's a super botched port, like it's a perfectly valid way to play both games, and some people even prefer the gba version of mother 1 since it makes a couple of quality of life improvements. not to mention, they rebuilt both games from the ground up, it's not like they could emulate snes on gba. (i mean, you can emulate NES apparently, since there's that nes classic line of games for the gba, but... this is cooler.) the sound department could... definitely use some work, and the colors look pretty washed out, but there are patches to fix the colors, and if you're playing the game on a real gameboy, i think the sound is the last thing you'd be concerned about. also, apparently some people took the time to apply the earthbound script to the mother 2 half of mother 1+2, and even reprogrammed the text system to have the original fonts and make it non-monospace, which is SUPER impressive. for my second playthrough of earthbound i played it with the new fantran patch, and it's pretty damn slick.

3.) man, fuck the sword of kings. i realized very recently that i'd never fully committed to the sword of kings grind, and decided that this would finally be the time i claim my birth right as a mother fan and do it. and like, it SUCKS. i mean, to begin, yes it's annoying that it's a 1/128 chance, but it goes deeper than that. the fact that it's only dropped by an enemy that you can potentially never see again, and it's the ONLY item poo can equip as a weapon is pretty fucked up. not to mention, the other enemies that they put in the starman base just absolutely suck, i hate the nuclear power robots so much. they made the grind WAY more painful than it already would have been otherwise. at the very least, i find it to be very gracious that jeff's spy command has the secondary effect of letting you steal whatever item an enemy would have dropped mid battle, just so it doesn't get overwritten by another enemy drop, which by the way YES that can happen, and YES i had it happen to me. it sucks ass. and the worst part is, the sword of kings isn't even that good!! and neither is poo on a gameplay level! you get the guy way later than any other party member, he has all these little catches like not being able to eat american food or equip anything but the kingly items, he gets taken away from you almost immediately after you get him, he just feels really weird. starstorm is pretty cool, but you only get the omega version right before the final area, and you can only use it on the handful of encounters you get there since you can't really use it in the final boss. (i mean technically you can use it in the first phase, if you want to get a biblical reflected beatdown when it hits both pokey and giygas) idk, the guy just isn't all that useful, and it's unfortunate since i really like him on a design level.

Yup!

A lot of them I haven't named or fleshed out, they're just a vague idea, but there's definitely more of them. I don't tend to like when systems are written as only having two alters, even though that can happen, it's not very common and every time I've seen it done it's always the "poor innocent 'Real One' who is scared of their alter and has never done anything wrong ever" and the "evil alter who only wants to hurt people and ruin the 'Real One's life just for fun" and I just hate that. Also it's more fun to me to give them a semi big system.

Some that I know I wanna give Tim are:

Multiple other Tim's [3]

Pirate guy [4]

[1] A persecutor or similar, because I HC that she was... Not Great 💀 tho recently I read N.Gage's ideas about Tim's mum, and I do really like their idea that it was Tim's dad who was abusive and his mum left him at the hospital because she felt like she failed him. So I might incorporate some of that? Maybe Tim pretty much doesn't remember his dad's abuse, only his mother's harsh words, because he doesn't realise that she only said those things to stop Tim doing something that'd mean he got worse from his father. But as far as Tim is aware, his mother was just mean and shouted at him and insulted him a lot, he doesn't know there was a "good" reason why she was like that. I think I've already mentioned her in passing in My Girl.

[2] After a specific incident where Jay takes things too far and finally gives the system the final nudge needed to split after a bunch of things piling up. (This one's because we have a guy like that who we split at some point to hold the memories of a piece of shit ex so that we didn't have to remember the worst of them. For us he ended up choosing a new name, and even tho I personally still a bit uncomfy cofronting with him, I am getting better at not being a twat just because of his source)

[3] To me Tim feels like someone who splits fairly easily, BUT usually when they split it's to create another version of Tim. Like, I mean literally another version of Tim, like a clone of him with just a few differences, like maybe this clone is older than him, or younger, or feels like they look slightly different, maybe this one's a cis guy instead of a trans guy, y'know? They split like this because to me they need to switch the host out fairly frequently so they can continue to function, their hosts need frequent breaks, but they're also sorta not super high masking? So if they switch the host out there's a risk that people will notice and attack them for it. So the solution is, "just swap Tim out with another Tim"

If there are a few Tim's, all of whom consider themselves to Be Tim, there's less risk of people noticing something's off. All it looks like is:

"hey, how old are you?"

"uh... *Remembers* 27"

Y'know? Like it doesn't look like anything other than them being a bit distracted so taking longer to answer personal questions with definite answers.

I think all the Tim's would also have much better memory sharing, they'd be their own subsystem which mostly keep to themselves. By "subsystem" I mean within headspace they all share a body, quite literally like a system within a system, except they have very low amnesia between themselves. (All this is just because we work like this and I wanna see another system that does, cos any time I've seen systems with multiple of the same guy, it's always an introject lol.)

[4] Childhood introject from a TV show/book or something who they saw as a replacement father/parent in general figure. I think I already vaguely mentioned him in passing in My Girl

[1] idk whether it'd be an actual introject that their brain split naturally, or something they were forced to split by the operator fucking with their head as a child, but they'd have one and it'd cause havoc. I wrote out my whole idea with these two so I'll go find that and put it at the end.

[2] this guy would be a wolf, or a dog, I never fully decided, but they'd be canine in some way, though they didn't start out that way. Their job is keeping the system safe from the inside, making sure the operator introject can't get out of the woods in their headspace to fuck up anyone else. (Yes, keeping people locked up in headspace is a terrible idea most of the time, doesn't facilitate healing, but I think when it's an eldritch deity dead set on ripping your soul open like a can of beans so it can slurp out whatever it wants to, you can make an exception. Okay that means the operator introject has to be put there by The Operator. Cool that's that figured out.)

Found what I wrote when I explained these two to someone. This idea used to be one I had for Masky in general, then Tyler was the S,IL specific Masky, but I love both ideas and like. I can have both, if I wanna. Tyler's the one who usually fronts as Masky, but this wolf/dog guy does too occasionally, when they REALLY need to. Like, Tyler does a lot of the physical protection stuff whereas this guy does more internal protection.

OKAY SO. Masky takes his role as Tim's guardian and protector very seriously, we know this, we see it over and over again in MH. So what if Masky was human when he formed, he was just a general protector, but over time of dealing with the operator and ending up in the hospital, completely unable to escape it anymore because they were locked inside, he began to change. He stopped seeing himself as a human and more as a guard dog, so insys he became a literal guard dog. I can't decide if he'd just be one of those massive bear-like dogs or if he'd just be an actual wolf, but he'd be something large and canine. The process of him changing took time, he changed gradually, add some body horror stuff because Operator or whatever. At some points he was stuck half human half canine with all the right bones in the wrong places or whatever, fur forcing its way through his skin in places he didn't already have follicles before.

Anyway, the process took a long time but the final nail in the coffin of Masky seeing himself purely as a guard dog was when the operator itself showed up in their system. Whether it's an alter split naturally or something it put there itself to increase its control and influence over Tim is up to you, I haven't decided myself. No matter why, the operator is in their system, and with it it bought a new part of the IW. It's a forest, it's dark and terrifying and besides the operator it houses some of the worst memories of abuse that they have.

Masky hates the place, he's terrified of it. Every time he goes there he feels fingers running down his spine and around his ears, like something cold and unseen is petting him, like he's a lapdog, not a very capable guard dog, able to keep persecutors away from front most of the time, and able to keep Tim away from the IW woods. Despite the cold, condescending invisible fingers that run through Masky's fur whenever he's near to woods, he patrols their edges day and night. He doesn't sleep, he doesn't rest, he just patrols and partols and partols. Any time he sees a branch that's stretching a little too far out of the forest, every time he sees a sapling growing too far out, he rips it apart with his teeth.

He keeps the forest from expanding and the operator from encroaching further into the rest of their IW, the parts of the IW where it could get at the littles, where it could get to *Tim*. It's a never ending task, a job that will never be unfinished, and the longer he does it the more it effects his body, his fur grows thin, it's patchy and dry and his skin where it's bare is covered in scratches and scars where the forest tried to fight back when he tore saplings from their roots.

He gets thinner and tireder every year, but he'll never stop. He'll keep patrolling and keeping the forest in check until he's nothing but worn down bones kept together by spite and duty and love towards the rest of his system

I do think there'd be others, but they're more nebulous

[1] Someone who post-canon Tim used to think was him and, when he realised they weren't him, has a whole breakdown over the question of if he personally is even capable of happiness or if it's all that other alter. (He is indeed able to feel happiness, he feels it a lot when looking after Birdie)

[2] Maybe they had a favourite who was nicest to them who they introjected for comfort, maybe they had one who terrorised them who they introjected as an abuser.

But uh, yeah, Tim's system, I have many ideas and few are properly fleshed out and I don't even know if I'll end up going into much detail at all of the system in any of the fics. Simply because Tim's completely unaware of his system (except Masky/Tyler, of course but he doesn't know what that is) until a good few years post canon. There's definitely gonna be hints at it and stuff here and there, but not much.

At some point I might write an angsty little fic of entry 35 (Tim leg breaky) from Tyler's pov tho, that one I do kinda wanna do, tho it'll probably be either once the rest of S,IL is done, or it'll be just generally a while down the line.

The Future of the Family Madrigal

Inspired by @hannahhook7744's AU, here's what my new Madrigal family tree looks like, roughly twenty-six years after the events of the movie.

I used the scrapped characters from the Encanto Artbook, as well as some early versions of existing characters to round things out.

EDIT: Added two additional kids, to bring Dolores and Mariano's kid count up to five.

First Row: Pedro Madrigal and Alma Cadenza

Putting a character and familial guide under the cut, because the tree is m e s s y

Alejandra is Bruno's wife, and Miranda, Amelia, and Sofía are their daughters.

Alejandra is a scrapped character who I think was supposed to be the original founder, and the Julieta Character's mother. She appears to be dead in the version of the story she's in, as we see her statue, but not her. I decided to make her Bruno's wife, as I think he deserves a scary sword wife who loves him and their daughters very much.

Miranda was an early version of Julieta, and Alejandra's daughter. Since the two look near identical, they kinda ended up being a package deal. Miranda is technically Bruno's step-daughter, but that doesn't really matter.

Amelia and Sofía are characters from a very early concept. I threw them in as Bruno's daughters, as I liked the idea of one of Bruno's kids having a 'bad' power.

Marcos is Camilo's husband, and Hugo, José, and Héctor are their sons.

There are so many early concepts of Bruno, that there are no less than three in this tree, and they all look different. Marcos is one of those early concepts, back when Bruno was a skinny twink with bright blue eyes. The name Marco was chosen from a list of potential names for Bruno.

Hugo is an early version of Antonio (there are also a lot of those here), one where he's older and selectively mute.

José seems to be from the same era as the twins, although he doesn't get any notes. He seems like he'd be Camilo's kid in any timeline lol.

Héctor is yet another concept of Antonio, but I thought he looked different enough from Hugo that it worked out. I picked the name as a reference to the movie Coco.

Leta, Andrés, Carlos, Avila, and Amada are Dolores and Mariano's children.

Leta was Pepa's twin sister originally, so I thought it made sense to make her her granddaughter instead.

Andrés is another Bruno, and I thought he looked the most like Dolores out of any of the concept characters. Andre was another potential Bruno name, so I named this version of him that.

Carlos is the infamous beta Camilo. Since Cami doesn't have any bio kids, I gave Carlos to Dolores to explain the simillarites. Plus, he does kind of resemble Mariano.

Avila and Amada are two of the four concept girl cousins in the artbook. Picked them because they have Dolores' ears and Pepa's teeth. @hannahhook7744 showed me a concept character from an early script called Amada, and we discovered that Alma's name was originally going to be Avila (in the 2017 version) so I picked those names. (Thanks Hannah!)

Juana is Luisa's wife, and Tomás, Rómulo, and Zoe are their children.

Juana is an early Pepa, back when her gift was indestructability. I paired them together just because Luisa needs a laid back gf to counteract The Anxiety. Her name is actually a beta Julieta name.

Tomás and Rómulo are a pair of twins that appeared only once in a family portrait. There are very limited boy concepts, so I snagged these guys too. Tomás means "twin" and Rómulo is the Spanish form of Romulus, a very famous twin.

Zoe is from the same era as José, Amelia, and Sofía. She's basically the poster child for Scrapped Encanto Characters.

Bubo is Mirabel's husband and Óscar, Beatriz, and Lidia are their children.

Bubo is Isa's scrapped love interest, but I'd already planned on having Isa stay single when I learned about him, so I ditched the OC I gave to Mirabel, and gave Bubo to her. They both have glasses, so I think they'd be cute together.

Óscar is the third Bruno, and the one who gets the Óscar name. I was originally using a different Óscar, but figured that this one looks the most like Bubo. The name is the most widely used name for beta Bruno.

Beatriz is a beta Mirabel, so obviously I made her her daughter.

Lidia is a Luisa, and looks decently enough like canon Mirabel and Bubo. Lidia was supposedly Luisa's name before it was Luisa.

Isabela has no partner, but Princesa, Fuega, and Mariana are her daughters.

Princesa is a bit of an enigma to me. I think she was supposed to be an aunt of some kind, maybe Augustín's sister? It's never made very clear. She's shown to be dating/married to a beta Mariano, and potentially the mother of the four girl cousins? Anyway, I aged her down so I could use her as Isabela's daughter.

Fuega was supposed to be Isabela's other sister/cousin, one who was jealous of her gift and 'perfect' status.

Mariana seems to be a veeeeery early version of Mirabel. The name also stems from an early version of Mirabel.

I have bios for all the kids, I just need to post them.

So, I’ve watched Mario and Luigi: Brothership, and it got me thinking: What if the characters in PV got similar stuff to the bros? Like they have their own attacks and counters. I’ll do Millie, Kieran and Pecharunt for this, and only the base attacks and counters.

Millie: In my opinion, she would be the slower character and does not hit that hard but with more hp and defenses, her base attacks are:

Kick: Basically, she does a spin kick, you know those right? I honestly could only do this since I don’t know what to do tbh.

Punch: She punches the opponent.

Avoiding attacks:

Jump: She just jumps to avoid attacks

Block: If an unavoidable attack, she blocks decreasing the damage taken

(I’m sorry, but I can’t think of anything for Millie)

Kieran: For him, he’s Millie’s opposite. Being fast and hits hard but much frailer since, he probably didn’t eat or sleep much after the trip from Kitakami.

Base attacks:

Jump: He does the same thing as the Mario Brothers in base games, he jumps in the air before stomping on the opponent and jumping again to hit them.

Bat: Now, this is a personal funny headcanon of mine, Kieran probably has green wooden baseball bat that is meant to mimicking Ogerpon’s cudgel. And he basically uses this to just swing and hit opponents with, I think’s funny.

Counters:

Jump: the same thing as the Mario brothers

Bat: Same thing except there’s a chance he may hit Millie.

Now for Pecharunt: he’s easily an all rounder with decent stats in everything except defense which is phenomenal.

Base attacks:

Shell Bash: He retreats into his shell before rushing towards the opponent before slamming into them, however, he would also jump in the air and slam back down.

Malignant Chain: it’s in the name, he throws two chains from his shells and hits the opponent (single target) dealing small damage before wrapping themselves and exploding dealing more damage.

Counters:

Shell Bunker: He retreats into his shell to block attacks to decrease the damage taken and absorb their impact so his next attacks become stronger for that turn.

Chain Punch: He uses 2 toxic chains from his shell halves as use them as arms and hands, he uses it to punch attacks to block them.

SInce Pecharunt and PV work together, they're kinda a one-package deal so i'll shorten it, but I've thought of smth similar before, but thry use their pokemon instead of themselves, if that makes sense?

Like Gooby with her moves, PV can be an exception since he's TECHNICALLY half a pokémon if you think about it..

Something PV can do is mix the moves from Pecharunt into his own, esp the closer he gets to power. He has a move where he gets two chains ti descend into the ground (Think of Phantom Force) and appear near hid opponent's feat, wrapping around or hitting them.

I also like to think he uses them for extra jump-boost or extra punch (Think of how the Snaptors use their necks to extend toward the bros)

F1 teams

Singapore presented us with some special helmets and liveries, but Red Bull posted they won’t do any of their previously planned special liveries to save weight and instead, the planned Singapore special livery was only ran on their F1 Academy car

On the other hand, Haas brought a special livery to Austin (along with special suits and probably also special helmets)

As previously communicated, GP got promoted while keeping the role of max’s race engineer (he is now also the head of racing)

VCARB replaced Daniel by Liam Lawson with an immediate effect, Helmut Marko (as per Horner’s words) wanted him out of the car around Spain already, Kym Illman said Daniel was meant to get a “key to the city�� at COTA but now won’t, Zak Brown got his knickers in a twist over Daniel scoring the fastest lap of the Singapore race which effectively stopped Lando from getting his first ever career grand chelem and also helped Max in the championship (even if Lando wins everything from now on and scores all fastest laps, if Max ends up second he will still win by one point) and finally Oscar and Daniel swapped helmets as goodbye

Also it looks like Yuki and Liam might be in a shootout (sort of) these last few races to see if any of them could replace Checo

Alpine confirmed the end of their own engine supply based in Viry but the workers were assured they will all get a new offer for a new position and won’t be laid off work (Mercedes is the strongest candidate to supply them from 2026 onwards)

Funnily enough there are rumours that the Renault engine was looking pretty competitive for 2026 before the project got scraped

Having the groups act hostile towards each other (or just the Reds against Caboose again) right after Chorus was a a big enough of a crime already. But those two are a package deal.

So what the fuck even happened in the SoC fight? Why would they let Tucker just walk out in the aftermath? I guess Carolina booked it to go after him bc why else would she leave Wash alone again, after he was supposedly injured?? Also Doc dying, wow rude. Donut and his VA are free to enjoy their break but where' was heeeeeeee where'd he goooooo he was barely mentioned at aaaalllllllll >:(

Sarge's death speech was surprisingly long and clear even though his lungs were probably pierced, cauterized or no.

On one hand I have a hard time seeing Sarge dying peacefully in a bed instead of in battle but he didn't have to stay at that doorway after they got back. He didn't have to die there. I'm glad he went back for Caboose though cuz that is one his boys (even if he's a dirty Blue).

Grif and Simmons talking about him at his grave was pretty good scene and so was the campfire reminiscing one but again, Sarge didn't have to die and I refuse a world where Grif and Simmons would go their separate ways like that. No wonder Gus and Geoff were shocked to find out this was the last season.

So close to a proper Tex and Caro combo, though I do get that they wouldn't work well together because of their history and different fighting styles :( Still, even if AI boosted, Tucker shouldn't be anywhere near good enough to go against both.

Also they got Kathleen back for Tex, John Erler for North and Samantha Ireland for CT??? Couldn't have seen that coming. Also Miles was aight doing Elijah Wood's voice but I guess a lot of it was helped by the voice mods.

Beta may have been "a failure" and Sigma is a bitch but his speech at her felt really off. She was still a major part of Alpha and the memories of Allison were the reason the rest of the pieces came to be in the first place. The Meta collective tried to catch her both in cases of the og Tex and Epsi-Tex, so Sigma full on rejecting her and the rest not reacting at all was really weird.

"This time, I'm not based on his memories, I'm based on theirs. And I always kicked their asses." A nice change of pace re: Beta as Alpha's/Allison's "failure". ....

Chex has embedded itself deep into my brain, so of course I Felt Things seeing them interact one last time fr fr. Tex finally got to go out with some agency of her own, yet we've come a full circle, they're back together again as Leonard and Allison. At least one good ending. Easily the best part of the movie.

Speaking of Wash:

I know he's always been linked to memory and I actually like how they handled his brain damage in the Shisno Paradox, but I just have a very different image of how he feels about the PFL folks in the aftermath. To me Carolina always seemed more like the type to feel regret over how things went with PFL; she was kind of in a leadership position, had her tragic relationship with York and she felt taking down the Director was her duty.

Wash did arguably have a lot more positive ties to others than she did during the Project, but he was ready to burn it all down while in Recovery duty. I always thought he would have a lot harder time moving past his own trauma of getting left behind to get back to the good memories. Regrets about Doc I can kinda understand since they had time to work together while at Chorus after Wash's villain arc was over, but again, the man carries a grudge like it's a badge of honor. He didn't exactly get closure with his former teammates, aside from collecting the AI from their dead bodies after he'd been left alone following the fall of the MoI and after South shot him in the back. It's interesting how differently Shisno trilogy and S19 handled how Wash and Carolina feel about the whole thing, but I'm glad they stick together regardless. I love their relationship so much.

Wash staying silent when the recovery unit is broken..... Ngl I'm kinda obsessed with how he and Epsilon never got closure

Well, Season 2 of TDI Reloaded (TDI Rematch) has had its first four episodes out for about a week. I figured I’d share my thoughts about what we’ve gotten so far:

-The challenges are a little more fun than in Season 1. They have a good amount of variety and the often led to really fun moments between the characters. From the Skunks clogging the toilet slide, to basically all the Rat Faces being carried by Caleb, and of course the AB questions challenge. My girlfriend and I straight up paused the episode each question to try and guess the answers. (We got over half of them right.) As for my personal ranks on the challenges:

-Taking it to the Rim Reaper (Ep. 2): Memorable concept, without going too overboard with it. Also, I’m a bit of a simpleton sucker for the pratfalls.

-Choosin’ for a Bruisin’ (Ep. 4): Great challenge for both character insights and just playing along with it during a first-time viewing.

-You Poor Saps (Ep. 3): I technically prefer Ep.1’s challenge, but this one led to so many gold character moments.

-The Pink Painter Strikes Again (Ep.1): Solid start. Simple challenge, nothing too crazy.

-Animation is pretty much on the same level as Season 1. The facial expressions are GOLD! I’d argue some parts feel more dynamic than Season 1, like the slide moments in Episode 2, but overall, no complaints.

-The characters feel like they never left:

-Priya: I kinda get why she’d fall hard for Caleb, as keep in mind, she’s been stuck with this training with hardly any friends. This also explaining why she instantly jumped to befriending Millie when it seemed they got along. It’s clear that she does value the friendship as she was the only one to give Millie a chance after Episode 2. She also did work as an effective leader in the same episode, instantly taking advantage of the challenge’s slide order rule. Overall, I’m okay with Priya.

-Bowie: I dig his plot. Bowie made it clear at the end of Season 1 that he’s willing to bend the rules…and it’s clear that he probably cares about Raj more. Since people are more weary of him after the finale, it makes sense to have his conflict be more about whether he’d play dirty again. Also, this joker in Episode 4! As a captain (assuming those roles are official) I feel Priya’s more effective, though.

Millie: It’s clear she had alot more learning to do about being a good friend. (I still say both her and Damien could have taken the two-point slide together if they were both weary on the third.) Though her elimination was pretty anticlimactic, unfortunately. I do prefer her in Season 1, but I’m not against the plot they gave her.

Julia & MK: I’m putting them both together because they’re basically a package deal this time around. Overall, live their dynamic. It was a sudden jump from animosity to friendship, but that’s just because they know game when they see it. They have so much fun just being underhanded together, and it’s honestly a refreshing take on villain alliances. While I’d say MK is the breakout of the two, since she’s the brains of the whole alliance, Julia’s dialogue is so on point that it hurts. My hopes is that MK does succeed in backstabbing Julia, but she doesn’t even get mad. She just respects a player and roots for her to win…underhandedly, of course.

Emma: Compared to Millie…honestly not that mixed. I’m glad she cut the chord with Chase early and she got him booted in a clever way. The one thing that’s kinda backwards is how she ends up being a poor judge of character in Episode 4 when she basically red Chase like a book in Episode 2. But then again, I guess that’s just chalked down to being used to his sorry butt the most?

Chase: Everybody (including me) called that he’d be an early boot…and he was. I’m perfectly content with that, as it’s clear that character development was never the end-goal with Chase. And the moment he left, the Skunk Butts became the de facto best team. Props on his ballsy attempt to outrun the balloons in challenge 1, though.

Zee: All I wanted from Zee in Season 2 is for him to still be Zee…Good news, Zee is still Zee. I honestly got worried the “soda influencer” plot would be a cheap and easy way to make him an early boot…and they make him Papa Zee instead. I love this lanky boy.

Ripper: My one complaint on Ripper is that he feels like he’s really not there that much. In Episode 2, he disappears for a good while until the mid-end. And he doesn’t really get to interact with his new team that much. The only real time he interacts with the other skunks is when he asks about how to approach Axel. Let’s talk about Ripaxel…I honestly really wanna see what they do with it! It is a little sudden how it starts, but in its defense, so was Rajbow. Their interactions in Episode 3 were fun to watch, and that POEM. Hey, fanfic writers…Raj and Ripper having a poetry battle…think about it. Despite him disappearing sometimes, what we do get from him is enjoyable. Here’s to more!

Wayne and Raj: My boys are untouched! The one blessing is that they NEVER went for some stupid jealousy plot! (Wayne cares too much for Raj for petty stuff like that.) And they are arguably goofier than in Season 1. (Shoutouts to them wanting burgers after seeing the slides and the “Cyclone-Spin Cycle”) It is funny how many people (again, including me) wanted to see their mischievous side more, but instead the boys are even bigger boy scouts with their understandable disgust at cheating. While I still think one leaving earlier is more likely, I really, REALLY hope that they stick for a little. Imagine them against Julia and MK for at least an episode or two! And while I still would love a Damien VS. MK finale, Wayne or Raj VS. MK works great! Fair and honest player against a crafty cheater. It would be gold!

Damien: I’m really holding out for him since he’s pretty much jogging in place a bit. Sure, he wants to take more risks, but it’s not to a great extent. Then again, the season’s only gotten started. I just hope his crafty side comes out more later. He’s not too afraid anymore, so now he needs to push his brains to the forefront.

Scary Girl: I dig the “Lauren” design. Unfortunately, the “normal” bit wasn’t really used all that much, as she barely had a presence in Episode 1. She had some small scenes, but nothing outstanding until she got herself eliminated. Though given how she was enjoyable, but pretty one-note last season, I feel she works well as a first-boot. Will she return to stalk everyone? Who knows. Probably.

Nichelle: I dig her more confident attitude. Part of me wishes we saw her gaining that confidence DURING the season, rather than all that development being off-screen, though. It makes sense for her to train beforehand, but I would have just as easily liked her having a bit of fire in her and then training throughout the season. As she is, I like how she’s so done with her old Hollywood life. Hopefully she does interact with Damien more, as they seem to have a friendship growing.

Axel: Besides MK, Axel was the biggest relief of the S1 pre-mergers. She’s still hostile and hardcore, but I find her showings of care towards the team being well-needed additions. Examples being her helping Damien back to camp after the four-point slide, and her warning her team to be cautious about getting stuck with the sap. I already said my piece on Ripaxel, so my personal hope is that there is a survival or stealth challenge where the two have to work together. (Ala Hide and Be Sneaky, Eat, Puke, and be Wary, or Hurl and Go Seek if you wanna count the “zombie” thing.)

Caleb: Caleb was simple, and he still kinda is. I like how paranoid he was in Episode 1, but overall he’s just a more effective Justin. I do prefer him over Justin, as he can be a massive asset to the team, as shown in Episode 3. Like Zee, I’m fine with him as is, and can only wait and see what he does in later episodes. Will his alliance become genuine romance or just a tool for Caleb to outlast Priya? Probably the ladder, as he doesn’t seem to show any romantic interest in her that feels genuine.

And that’s Total Drama Island Rematch so far. Tomorrow should be the debuts of Episodes 5 and 6, so here’s to a great season. I was honestly shocked at how much I loved this cast, and how refreshing it felt seeing the show after a seven (eight if you ignore Ridonculous) year hiatus. I will be making sure to watch the series again when it comes to MAX in seventy years. As for whether or not I wanna see the Gen 4 cast again…I’ll probably be content with them stopping their run after Season 2. Reloaded and Rematch work as just two halves of a nice little package, and I really don’t want them to risk having this lovable cast go through what Gen 1 did. If we do get a new season, I’d be fine with them having a new cast. Fans will probably like them as much as they do with Gen 4.

How wrong they are. In fact both parents love their daughter, they've always wanted one. And because of that, they are more than willing to give her anything she desires. So when she begs for helps with her sex change, they are at her beck and call... When she sees a cute maid she likes, they're there.

You, a lowly servant, see her in her private gardens. At first, she's angry, afraid, scared. She starts following you, keeping tabs on you. She want to know everything about you.

When she decides to make you her royal servant. Essentially binding herself to you, she takes great steps to make you love her. Over time she finds herself begging her parents to make you her princess/partner.

Now you're in a hellscape that is her love. It can be salty, sweet, warm and loving, hard and scary. It can be so much and so little. Just remember she loves you.

They're from a world much unlike ours. She first meets you when you(a farm hand) find her asleep in some hay. He's scared when he first wakes up and so he's not all too comfortable being around you at first.

He understands some of your language. Giving him books helps him understand harder and more broken up words. It also helps them trust you more. They're a fast learner, much faster than anyone else you've seen. She helps out on the farm and adores the cows and horses the most.

You've learned he's able to change their hair length and body features. So some days there's titties, other days there's peck, some days it's just smooth skin.

After a month or two of being around you she starts getting "nicer". She finds herself watching you sleep, finds herself more and more interested in you. Until one day they mate you.

By that I mean they mark your arm. Giving you a marking that symbolizes their love for you. They're obsession starts there. They need you around them, and the few people that come by your farm...

Ehen you notice the little things she always has an excuse, always.

She isn't kind, no, she's a bitch. A hot, smug, traumatized, bitch. She adores watching and being around you, while she is scary and would hurt you.(not hard) She also spoils you, keeping you with her at all times. When you learns how deep her ties are, she kidnaps you. It's scary at first, but she's not a bad lover. She's more scared of you hating her then you'd think.

While you cant leave her, she does care and love you. Even if her love is rough and scary...

You work for them at one of they're companies. It's just a front for a drug cartel, but about 70% of the people working there don't know that. They've had their eyes on your for a while. Finally they take you as their new assistant, and that's when you starts seeing the truth.

They don't hide it. If they want you, they need you to know and understand their world. They take you out, buy you things, do what you want. They will remind you what they are though. Not only your bosses, but your lovers. They're both gentle and rough, soft and sweet, but scary and dark too. They live to see you smile.

She will buy you lingerie and cute clothes. She adores making you wear things, wether you want to or not. She'll take you for dinner, and have you as dessert.

He takes you out to more interactive places. Wherever you want to go, he'll take you. Although, I'd watch my mouth if I were you. Slip ups are not tolerated.

They could do so much damage to your life. Just remember that before you go and kiss them goodnight.

The crob cookie of the week topic reminded me of something. I looked back and I saw the Chess Choco twins in the Dark Cacao family, and I got an idea. Hear me out: Earle Grey Cookie becomes the new royal advisor. He’s practically wrapped around the twins’ pawn shaped hats, the fandom (including myself) sees him as a parental figure to them, and he’s an excellent business person since he runs a luxurious hotel.

Technically, he is a cookie of darkness, but it’s hard to consider him one. All he does is run a hotel. He and the twins occasionally report to DE, but if the twins are innocent kids in this au, why not make Earl Grey an old acquaintance and temporary parental figure before the twins were somehow found to be related to DC or adopted by him and Sablé and they lost touch. But then Earl Grey somehow ends up in the DC kingdom, and the twins hear about a beautiful hotelier cookie visiting via servant gossip and they know who it is immediately. Initiate very cute reunion and the twins innocently scouting him to work for them and DC so they can stay together.

Funny enough, I actually do have Earl Grey as an advisor/butler to Dark Cacao in my AU. It's pretty much buried in my page (roughly a year ago) but I did wrote a short story with him as a side character and gave him that role. I believe it's the one where Sablé is visiting and Earl Grey went to inform Dark Cacao about it while he was in a meeting.

I do plan to have Chess Choco and Earl Grey appear in the AO3 version either towards the end of volume one or the beginning of volume two but still be "bad guys" at first. They are a package deal tho. Wherever the twins go, Earl Grey goes. So if the twins end up in the Citadel, you can bet that Earl Grey is sticking to them like glue (of the Cookie equivalent to glue).

I do love that story idea about them separating but finding each other again. I think it would be a wholesome story for found family to be reunited again and in a better circumstance. And be a great break from the angst and drama I've caused written in this AU.

And even tho I already have enough on my plate...I kinda want to write an AO3 short stories section that parallels my AU. Maybe when I finally get the B.A.D.4 story project started, I do that too. Hmm.

I'm getting off topic. Earl Grey is the advisor but you can't stop him from being a butler too. I forgot to add him to the family picture but he is the uncle/second dad the twins and Dark Choco need.

So, I know this isn't technically my writing blog (though I could make it), but I'm working on a story that I feel like at least someone here will like.

"In some ways the world hasn’t changed; Karens still scream at grocery store clerks for no reason, Douchebags think they own the roads, and the sun continues to rise every morning. But, it’s definitely changed; people fly through the air on their own, a car mechanic lifts the car he’s working on with his bare hand, and a thief outruns a squad of police cars. 

But, I’m getting ahead of myself. 2020 was terrible already, but as if that wasn’t enough it had one last fucking piece of shit to throw in our faces. Christmas night, there was a violet star in the sky. By new years eve, it had become a sun. By new years day, a violet mist that brought with it plague, one with a 10% mortality rate, and the rich and powerful hid themselves away from it. As they always did.

But as it turned out, ⅕ of those who survived it got what could only be called Superpowers. And very few of the rich and powerful got Superpowers. The inevitable started to happen. 

And where do I fit into all of this? Well, I'm the ñonbinary cat boy waiting for their take out to be ready. What? Just because I got Superpowers doesn't mean I don't want tacos. And these guys make a gochujang teriyaki sauce that is to die for. And I'm not gonna let some random ass fuck wad villain destroy this place, I can't recreate the sauce! 

The villain (who I think called himself Syndrome or some shit like that, I can't rememeber) charged at me, fist raised high. I'm able to dodge at the last minute, the concrete street corner shattering as it took the blow, which when combined with my latest bruises, are enough to tell me that this guy has one of those Escalating Strength powers in addition to the basic stuff.

Gotta take them out fast, before they start punching Blackholes or something. I think someone can do that?

The villain starts monologuing; ooooooh, his name is "Symptom." That's actually kinda cool, I gotta admit. Regardless, thank fuck this guy is long winded. Or really into L.A.R.P.ing. 

Doesn't matter now though; I charge at him with the speed of a bullet and unleash a flurry of blows. After a few seconds of what sounds like a machine gun going off, he starts to fall backwards, a look of surprise on his big stupid, neck-bearded face.

Heh, I caught him Monologuing. Guess that makes me a sly cat instead of a sly dog. :D

Oh yeah, the cat parts. While only ⅕ of survivors got super powers, over half of survivors got "fantasy bits." I got turned into a cat boy, but I've seen people with other parts. Someone I went to high-school with got turned into an Orc. 

Oh, and these things aren't a package deal, but there is enough overlap that it's testing fate to make a cat girl angry. So the Boomer who's screaming and making threats at me for not saving his car is either really brave or really stupid. I'm betting on the latter. 

Regardless, my food is ready and I wish to return home, and that's exactly what I'm gonna do.

A small rambling mess of a speech for Lucky

Whew ok ten years. Should of like planned for this given I've known this is going to be his tenth year since like February. Got no art. Got no party. Man I suck huh? But uh. Anyways. It's luckys 10th birthday. Well technically the 10th anniversary of us meeting. Hes 26 now. Which meant he was 16 when we met. I was 10. I've either had his plush for ten years or just under I can't really remember. His eyes have uh, darkened because my dumbass keeps rubbing him against the oilest face known to man kind. His skin has like more of a grey-bluish tint compared to a new plush. I want this plush to last forever but I'm also not ready to replace or alter him. Got off focus there. Right. Lucky. He's been through three main generation-changes. The latest one and the one people probably know the best is Gen 3, which is like 8 years now? 6th grade, yeah that'll be 8. I'm kinda just writing this as I'm thinking but I just don't really have anything. Everything that's been known has been said already by me many many times. He's my best friend and family. He's been with me through everything. From small shit like falling off a bike, to going through my parents divorce and going to the mental hospital. He's always protected me from danger, shouting out or pulling me back from cars or alerting me of something just *wrong*. When I've had nightmares he'll stand there just watching me to make sure I feel safe. If I'm cold he'll try to wrap me in his wings or share his sweather. He wipes my tears away and gives me the strength to pursue on. He sits by me when I'm sick and even if he doesn't say anything or do anything I just know that he's always there. Even if sometimes I can't see him, I just know if I call out he'll respond and be here. He really is my everything, and that's not even including the adventures I've had with him. Spiders and slime and one time he got covered in honey which attracted a lot of bees and well...

I've helped him as well..or at least I like to think so.I know that sometimes he feels as If he can't come to me for whatever reason or that I wouldn't understand. Sometimes I don't. We live different lives so I can understand that. Maybe he's afraid that I'll think less of him. Buddy I've seen you passed out in the alley and I still love you. I'll drag your ass out of there over and over and over again and never think less of you. I know you're listening somewhere, you're always listening in, I can't have a single private thought to myself. Even if you won't exactly tell me what's going on I just know that your silence speaks volumes, especially when its connected with a bottle. You've been through so much shit. You've done so much shit. You're not the Saint or the angel and I don't expect that from you. I love you and hold onto you with all of your problems. Your baggage. Your addictions. Your attitude. Because I know that you would do the same for me. Even if I call you out on your actions, you've done the exact same shit for me and so I don't want to hear that you think I'll think less of you.

I'm rambling and got off task there.

You're attached to me. Literally. You did some shit, yes I'm blaming you, and now we're stuck together through life and death. I know you're going to haunt me, if not then I'm haunting you. I can't imagine a life without you because I truly don't think I would have one without you. That's not really being metaphorical either. I want to create to *be* closer to you. I picked up drawing so that way I could look at you. I picked up plush making so I could hold you. I started cosplay so I could be you. I try new foods because you're glaring at me and calling me a bubble blowing baby if I don't. I picked up drinking tea because you really liked it. Surprise I like it too. I don't think people understand that we are a package deal. Even if the bond isn't nearly as close or they don't understand really, If I like them then I want them to know about you. They don't have to love you or understand Who you are or what you do for me and with me, but they don't have to. They just have to know that you exist and you're important. That's all I ask. If they can't accept you then I just can't have a true bond with them. Simple as that. There is no way around it. And if they do accept and understand then it's even better. I wish more people could come to your birthday besides those just kinda in the dome, but I guess we gotta make it work. Who knows. Maybe in ten years we'll have more people.

Please info dump to me about your favourite OC or your favourite aspect of your world Within 👀

aaaaaaaaaaaa Okay okay it's hard to pick one of seven... Eight? Nine, technically? (Two of which belong to very close friends of mine.)

I'm putting it under a cut because it looks pretty lengthy on my phone, plus there's some... Negative implications regarding gender? It's not bad and it has a happy ending, it's just a description of my personal experience with it back when I was in a pretty dark place.

I think the most important one(s) to me overall would be Rhys and Ilvenath; they're grouped together because they're a package deal. Rhys - the small, idiotic, loud-mouthed arsonist gremlin of a man with absolutely ZERO sense of self preservation - was the first OC that sparked the whole thing, but the story was way different back then. It actually took me about a year to actually name him; I kept calling him "Bastard Man Dumpster Fire" and every combination of those words rearranged, and I'm pretty sure I still have art files with those names too, including one called, "I finally named him Rhys." I know the art folder itself is definitely named something like "Bastard Fire Dumpster Man and Friends" or something like that as well, I never bothered changing it and I probably never will.

I was kinda in a really dark place mentally at the time I made him, and both he and Ilvenath (or just Nath,) were basically how I saw myself cranked up to 11. I had used them as a coping mechanism and a way to vent through both art and writing since I wasn't comfortable talking to anyone about it, and at the time I was still very much questioning my relationship with gender and the (very true) possibility of me being trans. It was very unhealthy at first, but the characters grew as I did and eventually they became a very positive thing for me.

But anyway, Rhys had started as this trans man who had this monster inside of him trying to violently take over his mind and body (the monster was actually himself to no one's surprise,) and he had to constantly take this drug called Neon to kinda keep the monster at bay; it's actually where the name "Neonsomatic" came from, it was what I originally called the story. Eventually this "monster" character evolved into a separate being, and I had given the two of them this (very toxic in hindsight,) love/hate relationship.

After this phase in Rhys' evolution, I had given him a redesign (thanks Sims 4 mods!) and I ended up falling in love with it, and eventually that "monster" became a demon that got trapped inside of him, keeping him alive; it was here that the demon became Ilvenath. I had then wanted them both to have a more positive relationship with each other. At this point I had already made another OC for Rhys to have a romantic relationship with - Emmerich and his Eldritch companion Ez - and I kept tweaking their stories to still keep that Cyberpunk-esque "no one has a happy beginning or ending" feel I had from the beginning, but they had each other and that's all that mattered. I had also kept changing their heights because I couldn't get enough of that delicious height difference; as of the most current change, Rhys is 5'4" and Emmerich is 6'8". But yeah, then the rest of the crew came in (the ones that are my own are all aspects of me cranked up to 11; that still hasn't changed,) and the story evolved into what it is now; a story about found family and overcoming trauma at its core.

But my personal connection with Rhys has always remained the same, he just grew with me as I got more and more comfortable with myself and eventually, accepting who I am. This pic of them is an older one and I definitely need to redraw it sometime; there's SO much wrong with it. But it's still one of my favorites.
