Medic Headcanon 2/????
Another one of Medic's favorite movies of all time is Jekyll and Hyde... Together Again (1982)
The Unhinged, Fucked Up, and Outrageous Humor and Plot of the Movie goes right up Medic's Alley and he loves showing it to people, tricking them by saying it's a Legit Jekyll and Hyde Movie!
(Please Don't Say I Didn't Warn Y'all When I Said This Movie is Fucking Unhinged, and yes, Jekyll snorts coke to become Hyde in this movie)

A Timeline for The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde
The years here are dated according to which of the three years of the novella they take place in, not their historical location. 18– is used for unknown years. Notes are placed underneath each with speculation and justifications for the dates provided.
18–, 10 years previous: Jekyll and Lanyon have a falling out
This previous is dated from Chapter 2, not the first experiment
Year One
18– ??: Jekyll turns into Hyde for the first time.
The door story is dated in winter (December - February) and Utterson is still concerned about the will, so we could assume that Jekyll turned into Hyde for the first time earlier the same year or late the previous year
Lanyon says the entries in Jekyll’s logbook dated back ‘many years’ but ‘ceased nearly a year ago’. This occurs early in January of Year Three of the novella. I have no explanation for this, maybe he was just still in Year Two brain, happens to the best of us.
18– ??: Jekyll gets an apartment and a housekeeper for his Hyde persona in Soho. Simultaneously / around the same time Jekyll tells his household about Hyde and calls upon them to make himself ‘a familiar character’.
18– ??: Jekyll writes out the holographic will leaving everything to Hyde
1801, sometime in winter, 3 am: Hyde tramples a girl and is forced to pay money for it. He stays in Enfield’s house for the rest of the morning and the cheque is payed when the banks open.
It’s most likely December - It’s winter, and the Danvers murder occurs ‘nearly a year’ later so December would make sense seeing as November’s still autumn and this is the closest winter month to October.
If after Chapter 3 the events are ‘nearly a year later’ also, it can assumed that the events of Chapter 1 - 3 likely all take place over December / early January
1801, ??: Following the Enfield incident, Jekyll creates a separate bank account for Hyde
1801, Sunday: Utterson walks past the door with Enfield and he recounts his story. Utterson goes home and examines the will before deciding to go and speak to Lanyon where he learns he and Jekyll have not been friends for 10 years.
1801, unspecified amount of time (few days perhaps?): Utterson waits for Hyde
Still winter, mentions frost
1801, after a time: Utterson meets Hyde.
1801, two weeks later: Utterson talks to Jekyll about Hyde after a party.
Year Two
1802, August: Jekyll turns into Hyde involuntarily for the first time and goes cold turkey.
The event is dated ‘two months previous’ to the murder in October, so it’s August
1802, October: Hyde murders Sir Danvers in view of a witness maid before fleeing the scene of the crime. He turns into Jekyll at home and destroys the key to the back door. The maid calls the police at 2 am after fainting for an unspecified amount of time. They call on Utterson the same day and investigate the crime scene and Hyde’s house. Utterson goes to Jekyll’s house late in the afternoon to talk to him and receives a letter supposedly from Hyde, but a servant tells him they received no letters. He goes home and shares a drink with Mr Guest who compares the letter with a dinner invitation from Jekyll and concludes that they were written by the same hand.
Jekyll says the news of the murder became public ‘the next day’ but Utterson hears people crying it in the square when he visits Jekyll which is presumably on the same day of the murder. Possibly the murder occurred late the previous day before midnight, and the maid was passed out for like two to three house before waking up at 2am and calling the police.
1802, October to January: Jekyll renews social activities and charity and sees Utterson more regularly, ‘almost daily’. He continues to sin in secret but in his Jekyll persona.
18–, 10th December: the date on Jekyll’s letter to Lanyon.
The letter was written on the ninth and Jekyll believed the letter may be delayed and Lanyon wouldn’t receive it until the next morning, in which case it would make sense for him to date it 10th JANUARY in anticipation. December is either a typo that wasn’t caught even after 100 something years or Jekyll/Hyde was so out of it that he completely misdated the letter.
Year Three
1803, 8th January: Utterson dines with Jekyll & Lanyon
1803, 9th January: Jekyll sends a letter to Lanyon requesting his help. Lanyon receives Hyde at midnight.
1803, 10th January: Hyde turns into Jekyll in front of Lanyon. Jekyll goes home and sleeps, but upon walking across the court in the morning he turns back into Hyde. It takes a double dose to restore himself, but six hours later he turns into Hyde again.
Hyde is received by Lanyon at midnight so in the intervening time to make the potion the date has technically changed to the 10th
1803, 12th January: Utterson calls upon Jekyll and is denied
1803, 13th January: Lanyon writes his narrative
He places the 9th January as ‘four days ago now’
1803, 14th & 15th of January: Utterson calls upon Jekyll and is denied
1803, 16th January: Utterson dines with Mr Guest
If dated from the 12th, the 16th would be the date of the ‘fifth night’ mentioned
1803, 17th January: Utterson visits Lanyon who he finds sick. He says he’s had a shock and refuses to elaborate, but decries Jekyll. Utterson goes home and writes a letter to Jekyll.
Again, if dated from the 12th, the 17th would be the date of the ‘sixth night’
1803, 18th January: Utterson receives Jekyll’s response letter which tells him that he intends to seclude himself for the rest of his life.
This is the ‘next day’ from the 17th
1803, 25th January: Lanyon takes to bed
A week from receiving Jekyll’s letter on the 18th
1803, around 25th to 8th February: Lanyon dies
‘In less than a fortnight’ from the 25th
1803, night after the funeral: Utterson opens Lanyon’s last letter and finds another letter inside telling him not to open it until the death or disappearance of Jekyll.
1803, unspecified period: Utterson continues to try and visit Jekyll but eventually falls off
1803, Sunday, unknown month between January and March: Utterson and Enfield encounter Jekyll at his window before he abruptly retreats.
1803, March, Sunday: Jekyll cries out to god. This is the last time Poole hears him.
The last time Poole heard Jekyll was ‘eight days’ before the last night, which if we date to Monday would make this day Sunday
1803, March, for a period of a week: Hyde locks himself in the cabinet and calls on Poole to get chemicals for him
1803, March, possibly Monday: Jekyll writes his statement under the influence of the old powders. The last night occurs: Hyde commits suicide and Utterson goes home to read Lanyon and Jekyll’s narratives, promising to return before midnight.
Poole says he’s been called upon ‘all of last week’ and has been scared for ‘about a week’. ‘Last week’ would imply the week has passed, so Monday would make sense.
Jekyll’s statement is ‘dated at the top’ to the same day as the Last Night. If Jekyll wrote the statement this would be unusual: Poole recalls the last time he heard him being ‘eight days’ from the last night when he cried out to god. Why would Jekyll cry out to god if he still had some of the old salt? Was he crying out because he realised he had run out of it?
Why would Poole only hear Hyde and not Jekyll from that day if he still had some of the old salt? Jekyll remarks that his face is now ‘sadly altered’ so he could be an imperfect transformation, not fully Jekyll but not fully Hyde.
Alternatively, Jekyll could have not written that statement at all. Hyde didn’t destroy it despite it being in plain view, and we know he shares the same handwriting as Jekyll. He also wrote letters to Lanyon and Poole while stuck as Hyde in the hotel in his Jekyll-handwriting and neither questioned wether or not it was him writing. Who’s to say Hyde couldn’t convince Utterson too?

OWW. HYDE. HYDE NOOOO
Tumblr media
THE SCRATCHES OMG THE LOOK ON HIS FACE THE REALISATION BEHIND THAT LITTLE “no”
Tumblr media
THE WIP SKETCH!!!! IT'S HERE IT'S HERE IT'S FINALLY HERE BUT AT WHAT COST
Tumblr media
"I didn't mean to" OUCH???? Jekyll you better come back up RIGHT FUCKING NOW PLEASE TELL HYDE THAT WAS ALL /J PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE-
"I'll fix it, I'll put you back together" Hyde says, after shattering all of Jekyll's reputation to pieces, saying he'll fix all the damage he made. also the SYMBOLISM in his face reflected in the glass??? broken in two pieces and still no Jekyll??? ow??
hey guys. uhm. uhm. correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think you can. fix a shattered glass once it breaks. what does this mean
Tumblr media
this whole scene?????? the moment Hyde realised he hated the silence more than any horrid insult Jekyll could throw at him?? the way he'd give anything, do anything, just to hear his other half's voice again and oh ow. oh. I think i need a moment.
I think it was a favourite taunt of Hyde's to mock Jekyll for being an empty shell, for showing no emotion underneath that shiny facade that is his smile. that underneath his perfect gentlemany suit there is not a heartbeat there.
however I believe Hyde is as much of an empty shell as Jekyll is, albeit one built out of Jekyll's discarded emotions. he's just a pile of unrepressed emotions that grew out flesh and blood. he has nothing that he can call truly his, not his memories, his family, his Identity. it was all built around Jekyll, and without Jekyll he is just a shell of who he once was, so in this essay i will-

pls can we have holt/jackson dating witch gn reader where they get into a fight but ends with fluff I understand if not but thank you for reading :)
Yes of course! Please enjoy :3
Apology Accepted
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairings: Holt Hyde x gender neutral witch reader, Jackson Jekyll x gender neutral witch reader
Summary: when you and Holt get into a fight, Jackson takes over to help apologize
Content warning(s): mentions of a fight, fluffy ending as requested :3
××
You loved both of your boyfriends, but sometimes Holt could be a bit much. Take for example earlier that day. You'd been trying to practice some spells for homework but kept getting distracted because of how loud his music was.
Holt got upset when you asked him to turn it down, and it escalated into a fight pretty quickly. You grabbed your stuff and left, deciding to finish your work somewhere else. Part of you wanted to go back and apologize, but your pride wouldn't let you, especially when it was technically his fault.
"Hey," Jackson's soft voice called out as he hesitantly approached you. "I just wanted to come and apologize. I- I know it wasn't my fault, technically, but I still feel really bad."
A faint smile formed on your face at his attempted apology. "It's fine. I'm not that upset, I just needed to get some air. I forgive you, both of you, so don't worry."
It was as if a weight had been lifted from Jackson's shoulders. Sure, he wasn't the one who caused you to be upset, but he still couldn't help but feel just a tad bit guilty for it happening. "Good, I'm glad to hear it. Do- do you want to hang out again, maybe?"
You let out a quiet chuckle at his bashful nature. No matter how long you'd been together, he still always got so nervous around you. "Absolutely. I'd love nothing more."

SCREAMING OH MY GOD HYDE!!!
(Spoilers ahead)
This page is the transition to the depression stage of grief, I knew it was going to be Depression and then bargaining.
Depression:
The start of an eventual break down, Hyde is on the ground, blood on his hands, as the reality of what he just did hits him, the reality of Jekyll not coming back, its all hitting him, and he can’t handle it
Tumblr media
He broke what he thinks is his only possible way to communicate with Jekyll and he’s officially lost. He needs Jekyll badly, Jekyll is the one who keeps him sane, weather he likes to admit it or not he cant handle this body on his own.
Hyde can’t sleep, he can’t eat, if he doesn’t have Jekyll he will literally die because he isn’t able to function as a human being and won’t be able to take care of their body. I feel like subconsciously Hyde must know this.
Even if it’s not his main concern right now it’s probably still lurking in the back of his mind that without Jekyll; he will not be able to survive
Tumblr media
“You ruined HIM”
Not it, not yourself, HIM
This could be referring too two different things; the mirror Jekyll, or Jekyll as a person.
If its the mirror; He broke the mirror, therefore ruining it, not really that deep so that’s why I think he’s talking about ruining Jekyll
He pushed Jekyll to the edge, he ruined Jekyll’s sanity and patience to a point where Jekyll will do anything to ruin Hyde. Hyde knows that he caused this and he feels horrible about it.
Not only is the “Broken, Shattered, Smashed” talking about the mirror but It’s also talking about how everything is broken now, the system that once was no longer exists, Jekyll broke Hydes control, everything in Hydes life is Shattered to bits now
He’s kicking himself over it again and again like his mind is against him, but he agrees even if it’s not said outright it’s obvious with Hyde apologizing to the broken mirror that at least a bit of him thinks it’s true.
Seeing Hydes reflection, broken in Two, is like Jekyll and Hyde being broken apart now, his two sides even more separated more than before; even though its just 1 person again its different. Jekyll had both sides before the separation but now Hyde only has his side, he has no part of Jekyll except for the Parts Jekyll didn’t want. He Is Alone, he is a half of a whole
Tumblr media
Hyde’s eyes look so bright and big, he looks so young here, so confused, and so desperate
“I’ll put you back together. Just don’t-“ theres a few things Hyde could’ve been saying here, but my first thought was that he’s saying “Just don’t leave” but stopping himself because Jekyll already has left him, and asking someone who isn’t there not go leave might just make him realize it more.
“I’ll fix it i swear” He’s so desperate, so desperate to show Jekyll he’s sorry and so desperate to get him back.
Tumblr media
“Don’t leave me alone”
Hyde’s always had company, Unlike Jekyll theres never been a moment where he was alone because Jekyll was always there, even if he wasn’t talking while Hyde had taken over he was still there and Hyde knew that
But now that Jekyll is being silent, now that Jekyll has left him, he feels like he can’t do anything now. He’s officially lost, desperate for guidance, wanting to hold on to anything but all he can do is beg Jekyll to stay with him.
Hyde has no control, Jekyll has left him with nothing
Hyde has lost

You know. I really and truly understand Jekyll’s horrible self hatred.
Because Hyde has ADHD.
A that means that before they split, Jekyll had ADHD.
And I have ADHD to know what that feels like.
I wouldn’t change a thing. It’s livable. It’s has enough advantages. It’s my favorite part of being alive. It’s also a fucking curse, and sometimes it makes me spiral into despair and shame and listless, bitter self loathing.
I don’t even believe it, but I sometimes find myself huddled in a ball muttering over and over again how I’ve failed to do anything significant with my life, and how I’m a worthless, horrible person. That everyone would be right to be disappointed in. That it’s not my fault that I’m losing the race, I’m just deficient and made wrong. ADHD doesn’t make you feel like that, but the consequences of having it do.
It’s like. It’s like if you gave one guy all the advantages of ADHD along with all of the side effects, but then you made some other guy do all the masking for him and carry all the emotional consequences. Which is literally what’s happening, I guess. (Almost like being a parent holding it together for a child. He is a lot of work and cannot do much for you, but you can’t very well just get rid of him.) Nobody should have to deal with the trauma of growing up with ADHD without also having all the advantages that make it worth it. All the resilience and zest for life and energy and thrust and exhilarating appetite and joy that comes from deep within your soul perpetually.
Of course Hyde is, himself, starting to scrape the surface of that “all of my fire and everything that I am has actually amounted to nothing” flavor ADHD trauma now. Would you look at that, he’s growing up.

thinking about jekyll and lanyon again. what do you mean being with lanyon was the one thing that caused jekyll to feel enough happiness to break the divide between him and hyde. what do you mean he essentially "broke" lanyon in terms of pursuing other people. what do you mean lanyon was the perfect image of a gentleman in jekyll's mind despite when they were literally together for A Year consistently breaking major societal norms. what do you mean jekyll is essentially the only person who can make lanyon admit he cares about anything. what do you mean lanyon is the person receiving prophecies (narrative/theme-wise) of jekyll's perfect scientific downfall. can anyone fucking hear me

I wrote a theory for the webcomic The Glass Scientists almost 2 weeks ago. Originally posted in the Disqus comment section underneath last week's update. Before another new page drops on Monday, I figured I might want to share it here on Tumblr, too! If only for my own satisfaction in archiving.
Some small parts aren't quite relevant anymore, I think, but we'll see whether the conclusions hold up, soon. My best guess would be within the next update or two. In the meantime, enjoy!
*******
THEORY TIME!!
I’ve stayed awake one night early last week thinking about what Jekyll could possibly be planning, thoughts swirling. And I think I figured out a solid possibility. Before I get to that, though, I first want to lay down ALL the pieces that brought me to my conclusion. Every piece of supporting evidence I could think of is here.
(Warning: this got pretty long.)
EXHIBIT A:
Whatever he’s planning has to deal with all of what he talked about here:
Tumblr media
I want to pay particular attention here to Jekyll conflating his own reputation with that of the Society. In his mind, the two are inseparable. And for good reason, but I’m not about to summarize the whole comic’s events. My point is, his plan HAS to save his, and by extension, the Society’s reputation somehow.
And it doesn’t matter WHAT it takes. He was willing to lock Hyde away (for a few weeks, mind) to save the Exhibition and the Society, after all. SOMEONE had to take the fall for the street fire. He didn’t want to have to do this, but he was pushed into a corner.
Tumblr media
Now, his first plan, when his form became unstable and the sudden transformations started, was to go to his office and search for a spare potion he missed. But that plan is right out the door, cause he scoured the entire place:
Now he’s pushed into a corner again, with the WHOLE Society at stake. If the public finds out Jekyll’s secret, they’re both ruined.
Tumblr media
And now?
Tumblr media
Only a matter of time until the world finds out his secret.
Time for EXHIBIT B:
Tumblr media
Jekyll’s plan, I think, is unlikely to be an Un-Hyde potion of some sort. He didn’t even know how the original potion worked exactly! And since he doesn’t have any of the old potion left, he probably can’t make a modified version of that either. But, if he still had SOME of the ingredients left, but not all, perhaps he could make a different sort of potion. Perhaps.
But my main point is that I don’t think Jekyll’s plan is a potion to get rid of Hyde. I also think it would be too convenient if he suddenly figured out how to make an Un-Hyde potion that works. On a narrative level, it would be too easy. That’s not his plan. No easy outs for our dear Doctor.
EXHIBIT C:
We know there is going to be a moment that will reflect this chapter’s cover. Sage told us so!
Tumblr media
Right here, at the last sentence:
Tumblr media
Obviously, it’s not going to be a literal parallel. It’s more about intent, I think. Jekyll is going to do Something, and that Something is NOT going to be good for Hyde. But, and this is key here, it’s not going to be good for Jekyll, either.
They both go down together. I can’t stress this point enough. Jekyll is not planning on coming out of this unscathed. But, remember, his plan HAS to save the Society’s reputation somehow. The world can’t know the truth.
(EDIT: my thoughts on the details of the parallel have evolved since. Now I think it will end up being a lot more literal than I initially thought. See this reply I wrote for more details on that. The key point of this Exhibit remains the same, however.)
EXHIBIT D:
Tumblr media
This page feels like Jekyll is saying goodbye, somehow. Not only is he not coming out of this unscathed, I get the strong sense that he’s not planning on coming back at all. Clearly, he doesn’t want to do this. But he feels like he HAS to, for the sake of the Society. He’s resigned to it.
Someone has to take the fall.
Now, you’ve all been reading my reasoning thus far, probably wondering where I’m going with all this. Don’t worry. I only have three exhibits left, and then I will try to bring it all together. Thank you for your patience. I mean it.
EXHIBIT E:
Remember this very interesting bit about how Jekyll and Hyde’s mindscape works?
Tumblr media
And a moment later, Hyde’s inner monologue says this:
Tumblr media
“Only, I have a funny feeling that, once I went all the way down, I wouldn’t be able to find my way back up again.”
You may or may not already see where I’m going with this. :)
EXHIBIT F:
Remember this tweet by Sage? Since I first saw it a year ago, I’ve never forgotten it.
Tumblr media
Now, I’ve seen different people theorize whether this is Hyde or Jekyll in Hyde’s body. Well, I’m going to make THREE (hopefully reasonable) assumptions:
1: This is Hyde, not Jekyll in Hyde’s body.
2: This panel will take place in THIS chapter, the one we’re still in, or early in the next.
3: Hyde’s distraught, despairing expression is caused (at least in part) by whatever Jekyll did. His plan.
(There is one more assumption I could state here, but I’ll save it for later. Keep this panel in the back of your mind for a bit if you want.)
And for the FINAL, EXHIBIT G:
Remember the trick Hyde used to force Jekyll to take control again? Forcing a transformation?
Tumblr media
And now, remember THIS PAGE?
Tumblr media
It’s probably safe to assume that this, too, works both ways. :)))
And NOW? I’ve run out of exhibits! Well! Well well well!!
Tumblr media
(This panel is not relevant, I just wanted to use it. :D for fun!)
(Also, thank you so much to anyone who’s read this far?? Seriously! This thing is way longer than I planned!!)
My theory is that, quite simply, Jekyll is going to sacrifice himself to save the Society. To save his reputation, and thus, the Society’s.
I don’t think he can get rid of Hyde. But he doesn’t have to. He just needs to preserve his secret, because nobody in the overall public can know that Jekyll and Hyde are the same.
And in order to do that, his form needs to be stable. Remember Exhibit A? The big secret is in danger because he keeps transforming back and forth with no volition. Well, he’s got a solution for that.
Jekyll just needs to let Hyde take control. Permanently.
How? By going into the deepest parts of their mindscape, forcing Hyde to be at the front. Never to be seen again, never to return. His secret will disappear with him.
In order to “stabilize” their form, their body, and stop the sudden transformations, Jekyll doesn’t have to get rid of Hyde. He most likely can’t. But he can get rid of himself. He can certainly try, at least.
If Hyde will never stop fighting Jekyll, then he just needs to let him "win."
More than that, he can let Hyde take the fall for his own disappearance. Remember the will Lanyon found?
Tumblr media
Lanyon straight up thought Hyde was blackmailing Jekyll because of this!
Picture it. In the public eye, if Jekyll disappears, or thought to have been murdered, and it looks like Hyde’s fault, that’s just unfortunate! Jekyll would simply be an innocent victim! Hell, the public might be inclined to show the Society sympathy because of it.
No secrets revealed, no ruined reputations. Hyde goes to prison, and that’s that. The Society itself is saved. All at the cost of both Jekyll and Hyde. And a good leader would do whatever is necessary…right?
The End.
This is Jekyll’s final, desperate gambit. And that’s my theory.
One final bit. See it as an afterword!
Lanyon seems about to rush in and try to stop Jekyll from whatever he’s doing in the office. But me, I think it’s already too late.
When he runs in there, all he’ll see is Hyde, and, perhaps, a broken mirror.
(That’s the other assumption I’m making about the panel with what’s supposed to be Hyde picking up glass shards. Just picture the drama of it all!!)
AND THAT’S ALL, FOLKS!!! Thank you for reading!!! :DDDDD
I’d love to hear what others think! What did I miss? What do you agree, or disagree, with? Feel free to tell me all of it! I love discussing what might happen next!!
EDIT: There is now an Addendum to this theory where I clarify some things I plain forgot to when I first posted it. PLUS, there's an EXTRA Exhibit I came up with later! Link to the comment here, in case it might get lost in the replies.
*******
That's where the original post ends! I'd like to say one more thing. I already addressed this in the Addendum, but I'd like to state it here too: this is ONLY a theory for what Jekyll's plan is. That was my intent, anyway.
By that I mean, I think this plan would FAIL in reality, in several key ways. Mainly, I think Lanyon and the others are going to intervene before Hyde would actually get arrested. Together, they may work to find a solution to both bring Jekyll back (if he's already deep in the unconscious) AND to keep their secret safe. I have hope they'd figure it out!
I'm also planning to post a more general thematic analysis of the whole comic, soonish. With a particular focus on the character arcs of Jekyll and Hyde. Look out for that! I'm still working it out, but it should be done sometime next week.
After that's done, I'm going to share my theories for how I ACTUALLY think the comic might end. Cause I sure as heck don't think it will end as I described above.
That's all! Thanks for reading!! :DDDDD

Okay but the way the substance is kind of like Jekyll and Hyde really interests me. There's a lot we can think of when looking into it. Like, Hyde isn't just the "evil version" of Jekyll, they're the same but separating his immoral desires that have always been there, just like Sue just represents Elisabeth's self hatred. Sue is Elisabeth. Sue is just an internal thought of- "if I were younger and prettier again, I would puke if I saw myself." They're the same, but for different audiences. They representant how both evil and good are always together, like beauty and ugliness are. In this essay-

𝘩𝘤𝘴 ~ 𝐉𝐄𝐊𝐘𝐋𝐋
✧⠀⨾ Despite never saying it, Jekyll adores you and values you a lot- like more than he cares for Utterson and Lanyon- and thats saying a lot since he knows the two very close
✧⠀⨾ he loves it whenever you visit, because you take the time out of your day to make sure he is doing well, even helping the servants make some tea for him and clean up a bit after- for some reason Jekyll loves your tea more than anyone else's, you make it so perfectly
✧⠀⨾ he also tends to try and not cause as many mistakes as he usually would while you're there- whether it be via experiments that he maybe burnt himself with or just casually bumping into things, you'll always be at his side right after and be scolding him while patching him up as well
Currently, you were sitting by the side of Jekyll- who has managed to mix up the wrong amount of chemicals needed for one of his recent experiments which caused it to overflow and accidently got on his hand- which burned... a lot. ❝ how could you be so careless Jekyll? look you've hurt yourself again.... Please be more careful around your chemicals, you know first hand how dangerous they can be! ❞ you patched Jekyll's hand up, holding with with delicacy which made it seem as if he'd break if you were careful enough which was true to an extent, Jekyll was feeling weaker lately- he's been more careless with himself and how he acted leading to this mess. However, he couldn't help himself from smiling at you with a fondness- you were always there for him, out of the kindness of your heart and that made him adore you more than anyone else could. You were truly a miracle to him
✧⠀⨾ Jekyll doesnt understand how he managed to meet you and befriend you, but he thanks god everyday for it.
✧⠀⨾ As a thank you, he always buys you gifts that he knows will make you overjoyed, he pays attention to what you like and dont like so when it comes to thank you's, you're never disappointed or sad
✧⠀⨾ All of his servants, cooks and Poole love you since you're sort of keeping their master together while also keeping them happy- whenever you visit they're always chatting with you about anything but this isnt about them
✧⠀⨾ Jekyll find your innocence adorable, and questions on if you are the completely moral person you make yourself out to be- or do you also indulge in your vices? do you have your own Hyde? though he'll never ask, no never, he just loves this perfect image of you- sweet moral you who wouldn't hurt anyone ever
𝘩𝘤𝘴 ~ 𝐇𝐘𝐃𝐄
✧⠀⨾ the first time you met Hyde, it was probably an accident- Jekyll has though of something so horrid that Hyde couldn't help but take over, it was never Infront of you (Jekyll is so grateful for that you don't even realize)
✧⠀⨾ Though when Hyde did see you, all of his rage and anger suddenly just went away?? it left him so confused and almost made him angry and vicious again until you began to talk to him- normally??
✧⠀⨾ you weren't disgusted with him? you didn't find him hideous? you didnt run away, screaming in horror? no, you didnt do that, oddly enough you walked over to him- smiling happily, and introduced yourself leaving the creature so confused and baffled he almost completely ignored you (he didnt though- you were too intruging to him)
You smiled at Hyde, grinning from ear to ear as you held out a hand for him to take and shake. ❝ hello! I'm [name] it's so lovely to meet you ❞ you didnt run away, or looked at him grossed out which almost irked the monster but he stayed out of pure curiosity. ❝ I'm Hyde.❞ he replied almost coldly, though you didnt get angry with him- instead fascinated ❝ oh! yes i have heard of you- you're a good friend of my dear Jekyll's! i dont understand why everyone is so sacred of you ❞ you smiled even more- leaving Hyde to question you and your intentions, yet he made no move to hurt you. Everyone was shocked, sorry- correction- everyone outside, in the beauty of the moon was shocked to see Hyde, the murderer, the man who trampled a girl to near death, the one who smites women down for simply looking his way- walking down the street with the sweet little thing like you latched by his side, smiling from ear to ear as you chatted about something while Hyde listened. You has done the impossible, yet only you could do it
✧⠀⨾ he secretly love having you around, you're the only person who gives him the light of day at the minimum and at the maximum you care for him.
✧⠀⨾ once he returned to his home after getting into a fight with a man who was capable of fighting back- the man obviously was killed as Hyde had overpowered him with sheer brutality and died bleeding out, though he did manage to get a few hits on the deformed man (Hyde) leaving him bruised.
✧⠀⨾ you were waiting for him- happily with a knitted scarf for him (you felt bad for him as it was always cold in the night time of London and Hyde barely wore anything warm) but when you saw him, bruised and beaten you didnt even care about the scarf or how he even got hurt
✧⠀⨾ you sat there, much like how you were with jekyll, scolding him and patching him up carefully- despite him stating MULTIPLE times he can handle it and wont die.
✧⠀⨾ Much like Jekyll- Hyde questions your innocence but enjoys it none the less- the two of you acting as the opposites attract trope
✧⠀⨾ Overall, the two of them adore you so much- you're the sweetest and kindest person to the two of them and they're grateful, in their own ways (Jekyll buys you stuff and Hydes beats people up for you)

On August 27th 1788 the trial began of Deacon William Brodie, a respected pillar of Edinburgh society by day, a thief and housebreaker by night.
Brodie is said to have been the inspiration of Robert Louis Stevenson's Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, which was published a century later.
The prestigious title of deacon did not refer to religion, as many assume, but instead to his presidency of one of Edinburgh's trades guilds. His trade was as a cabinet-maker and his position as deacon of the Incorporation of Wrights made him a member of the town council.
The trial of William Brodie for breaking into and robbing the General Excise Office for Scotland took place at Edinburgh on 27th and 28th August, 1788. The story of his strange career is as enthralling as any romance. The double life which he so long and successfully led – as a respected citizen and town councillor by day, and by night the captain of a band of housebreakers – was the wonder of the country at the time. Nowadays you would call it a celebrity trial.
Brodie was quite rich with 10,000 pounds and three houses that he inherited from his father. He also inherited the business, allowing him to sustain the wealth. Traveling in the highest social circles, Brodie had the key to almost all of the richest people’s houses. Literally. No wealthy Edinburgh resident would ever think that such a respected man would keep a copy of their key in his drawer and that he would slip inside their homes after nightfall to steal everything worth taking.
During the day, he was a well-known gentleman who shared jovial times with his rich customers and enjoyed the company of highly respected persons such as himself, but during the night, Brodie could be found gambling in the dark corners of Edinburgh, accruing debts that forced him to consider a life of crime, and so, he became a thief.
After installing a lock in a rich man’s home, Brodie would also make a copy of the key for himself. Not because he collected souvenirs, but because he intended to visit those homes again, some other night when a burglary without breaking in but entering the house with a key would be his tactic. In this way, the man had supplemental payment to support his double life as a gentleman by day and a gambler in the evenings. On top of everything, Brodie had to support his five children by two mistresses who didn’t know of each other’s existence.
Allegedly, his criminal career began around 1768, when he stole 800 pounds from a bank that he sneaked into during the night by using a key. The Deacon’s nightlife was filled with gambling, robbing, and stealing. He didn’t mix his daily business and finances with his nightlife. Whenever he would fall into debt while gambling, he had the “ace key” that would pay off his debts.
Another source says that although Brodie had already robbed a bank, his real criminal career began in the summer of 1786 when he met George Smith, an Englishman. Brodie and Smith got into business together, targeting the rich people’s homes in Old Town. By the end of that same year, the duo had successfully robbed a tobacconist and a goldsmith’s.
Soon, the Deacon and the Englishman recruited two other members to their group: Andrew Ainslie, a shoemaker, and John Brown, a thief. In 1787, the gang stole tea from a grocer’s store in Leith. Back then, tea was a valuable commodity, a luxury that only members of the elite could afford to buy.
Encouraged by their success, the gang, led by the Deacon, decided to steal the revenues of Scotland from an Excise office in Chessel’s Court on the Canongate. They organized an armed raid, and for the first time, instead of welcoming themselves inside with a key, they broke in. However, they managed to steal only 16 pounds when they were caught. The unsuccessful robbery led Brown to claim the King’s Pardon the same night and named Smith and Ainslie as the culprits.
When his partners got arrested, Brodie traveled to London, and from there he boarded a ship to Amsterdam. But, since there was a reward for Brodie, he was tracked down in Holland and shipped back to Edinburgh. He and his friend Smith were tried on August 27, 1788. Although at first there wasn’t any strong evidence against Brodie, he was convicted after a disguise, pistols, and of course, copied keys were found in his workshop. After a trial that lasted only 21 hours, Brodie was hanged in front of 40,000 people on October 1st that very year.

Characters I think they should play if they do a public domain season:
Lou - Mickey Mouse (I wanna hear him do a silly voice again)
Siobhan - Robin Hood (I wanna see Siobhan play a rogue)
Zac - The Headless Horseman (this would absolutely be bit city)
Ally - Pre-ghosts Scrooge (Ally playing a grumpy old man? delightful)
Murph - After he realizes he's gone too far Dr. Jekyll
Emily - Mr. Hyde (Emily getting to be chaotic and Murph having to pick up the pieces would be 👌)
I'm picturing that the public domain is an actual domain and when characters become public domain, they're dumped their and have to figure out their life.
Do I know why they're together in this domain? No.
Would it be funny? Yes.

(also, please forgive my Latin, I used google translate)

It was mesmerising, how perfectly your bodies melded and moved together, how easily and harmoniously you were brought to a hitherto unknown rapture. To be caught up in such a state, where you were free of the chains that bound you to the horrors of purgatory and had ascended you to heights you had never felt before, to feel him guiding you to a place where you had never even begun to dream about.
Minutes had passed since the twelfth ring of the Bell of Solace yet the two of you stayed in your tower, pressed against a shadowed alcove, away from everyone and everything, your hands wandering and blood singing as the rest of the city drifted off into their fanciful visions of the dusk.
With the Witching Hour descending upon you, veiling you in the covers of the night, you only had the stars and the spirits above as witnesses to this tryst, your secrets laid bare for their silent judgement.
But their judgement didn’t matter, nor did your schoolmates’, if the silent covenant between you and him were to be obeyed, if the unvoiced sermon in blue flickers that glowed against the scorching green of his eyes that seared into you as he took a lock of your hair and pressed it against his lips were to be acknowledged.
His cold touch, like fire, burning your figure as it trailed across your face, your neck, your shoulder before settling on your waist, pulling you closer - long, chilling fingers burned along your skin, setting ablaze every thought, every word, every semblance of rationality.
“Pulchra,” you could feel his voice against your mouth, wafting and caressing like tendrils of smoke, sonorous to your ears, “puella pulchra, so pure, so perfect. Like a goddess in mortal form.”
You could do nothing but listen, to submit to the dark velvet of his dulcet tones, to close your eyes and let this fiery passion incinerate and eradicate the demons that plagued you. Ordinarily, you’d be against this, to let your shackled hands hand the reins of your petering control to another, but his providence proved otherwise. With your destiny enshrouded in so much unknown, the danger of staying and the risk of fleeing your perennial torment in the clutches of your captors yet with Rollo before you, you felt at peace.
Fate, free-will, nothing mattered in this sanctuary he created.
His conviction begets your reprieve, his resolution ameliorates your soul from the horrors that had stained it with their inky fingerprints. The singing brushes of his fingertips cleansed you, and like a blazing phoenix, you emerged anew.
With both great reluctance and great desperation his lips left yours and made their home at the apse of your neck, whispers of orisons against your skin, your name an endless epiclesis.
Even with your sight inhibited, you could see the worship in his gaze, through the reverence in his touch, the cardinal way he regarded you in every action. His hands gentle yet formidable as they kept you against him, the golden shank of his ruby ring digging into you with the pads of his fingers.
“I wanted to see you again,” his deep timbre, dark, soft and smoky against your ears, “touch you, know who you were, see if I would find you identical with the ideal image of you which had remained with me and perhaps shatter my dream with the aid of reality.”
“And?” you hear yourself say, too lost in the fiery haze, too blinded by the flaming reds and golden ambers that danced under your eyes.
“At all events, I hoped that a new impression would efface the first, for the first had become intolerable to me. I sought you, Prefect, again to behold you. When I had seen you twice, I wished to see you a thousand more times, to always have you in my sight. You claim to be magicless, Angelum Meum, yet you have completely bewitched me. With you, I’m no longer my own master. You’ve become my salvation from perdition, shown me the true meaning of righteous. Please, I say in obsecration, grant me the blessing of speaking your benediction, of proving how far my devotion runs. Let me be your acolyte, your protector against the tainted crowd.”
His lips pressed against the apples of your cheeks, his hands on your waist, the fury of the flames within you.
It’s dangerous. But this fire won’t char you, won’t scar you, won’t leave you tearstained and broken.
It emboldens you, ignites the snuffed out hearth within you.
You nod once, a small jut of your chin through the keening of your throat and you slowly feel the ribbon of your nightdress tugged loose before it falls and pools at the ground at your feet.

Run While You Still Can | James Sunderland/Pyramid Head x reader Part One | inspired by @scratchingcatfics658 for their Jekyll and Hyde AU thanks so much for letting me write this pookie🫶
TWs: HEAVY dubcon, power struggle, cheating technically?(I love you Mary I swear I'd never take your man if you were still around🫶), groping, PinV, afab anatomy but no specific terms are used, monsterfucking? Kinda? Kinda. (most of the smut will be in the second part sorry i have to set the scene) i love touch starved man, i tried to write him as touch starved as possible🫶
The dark fog was agonizing. Not even able to see your hand in front of your face at times, let alone the companion you had along with you. Well, maybe companion was a strong word, you knew very little about the man you were travelling with, but seeing anyone who was an actual person in this hellscape almost made you want to cry tears of joy. Those... monsters, twisted and screaming and dangerous. It seems like the second you stepped into Silent Hill you've been fighting for your life, or maybe your sanity. But it was worth it, it had to be. You were here looking for someone, someone you hadn't heard from in a long time and so far had no success in finding.
When you first ran into James you froze, thinking he was another creature come to haunt you. But he was just a man, looking for someone same as you. You had decided to travel together for the time being, safer that way. You weren't going to lie and say it wasn't a relief to have someone to help defend against the ghoulish inhabitants of this run down town. It gave you hope, hope that you'd find what you were looking for and leave together with your sanity mostly intact.
Your companion, James, took charge in dealing with most of the creatures with whatever weapon he had available, not above using his own hands to protect the both of you. It felt nice to feel protected, it had been so long. Pushing you behind him to keep you safe from attackers, those big hands gently moving your waist, like he was afraid to touch you, hurt you. You knew you should probably be afraid, he was strong, ruthless, a man. But it was his eyes. They had this beaten, profound sadness to them that made you drop your guard. A look most men didn't have or had lost long ago. Not to mention the raw beauty of them. His wife, the woman he was searching for, certainly was lucky.
As you travelled together you both spoke little about what brought you to this place. Not exactly the best place to have a heart to heart while trying to avoid all those foul creatures. You got bits and pieces. His wife, Mary, had sent for him. You gathered that she was sick and then got hit with something that made you question if this man was the safest option. Mary had passed. Three years ago at that. But from all the things this town had made you see, a dead woman writing a note to her husband wasn't something that would shock you at this point.
You were exhausted, the trek around and the fear making you feel weak. You knew you would have to rest soon or you would be nothing more than dead weight, or maybe just dead. James had to be exhausted too, there was no way he wasn't.
"James?" You said softly trying to get his attention. He was alert, scanning for threats like a wild, scared animal. You almost found it endearing, he was like a guard dog. "James?" You prompted again, reaching to touch his shoulder. He froze for a second when you made contact, an almost inaudible gasp escaping him, before turning his head to look at you. Those eyes, tired and unfocused and wide, but so beautiful. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to startle you" you tried to placate with a weak smile. "No, no it's alright I just- my head, it's a mess right now" he said shaking his head slightly, offering a polite smile back. He exhaled through his nose as he slumped his shoulders a bit, exhaustion prevident on his features. "I was thinking we should find a place to rest" you said rolling your own shoulders to fight against the sting that had began in your muscles. "Looks like there may be a building up ahead, do you think we should check it out?" He paused for a bit, his mouth a firm line. His fingers were drumming absentmindedly on the lead pipe he was carrying, before he let out a small sigh. "Yeah that's- probably the best idea for right now." He nodded his head like he was convincing himself. You nodded once too, before you both set out to the building in the distance, careful to avoid any threats.
A hotel, hopefully it wasn't home to the abominations outside. Only one way to find out. James ushered you behind him, his lead pipe at the ready as you cleared the building. It must have been instinctual for him, the feeling to protect. It made you smile a bit to yourself. You felt foolish for feeling attraction toward a married man, but you decided to blame it on the adrenaline. Maybe there was something in the fog. Slowly you two crept through the narrow hallway, checking each room. Each time your adrenaline spiking, expecting the worst. But there was nothing. No monsters in here. Or so you hoped.
As the door swung open slowly as the two of you checked the final room at the end of the hall, James at the ready with his lead pipe, you both let out a sigh of relief as you found no adversaries. "Thank god" you said wearily as you walked into the dingy room. A bed with questional dirt and debris, filthy carpet, and peeling wallpaper, but not a monster in sight, and that was good enough for you. James followed behind you, albeit hesitantly. He was always on edge, that man. He scanned the room eyes lingering for a second too long on the bed. Not that you caught it, as you rifled through the wardrobe for some hopefully cleaner blankets. His eyes followed along your figure. A small bit of brazen confidence knowing you wouldn't be able to see him admiring you. As his eyes were drifting to your legs, they snapped back as you let out a small victorious laugh. You turned to him holding up a larger blanket that seemed to be a bit threadbare, but otherwise in usable condition. "Jackpot." You said, your tired smile betraying the playfulness in your eyes. A pure kind of excitement. James laughed a bit in spite of himself. It was adorable he had to admit. Seeing someone light up over something as small as a blanket. He felt a kind of warmness in his chest, something he hadn't felt in a long time. But he could always blame that on exhaustion, or the fog.
"Well done" he said returning your tired smile. You made a show, taking a dramatic bow. Tiredness always had a way of making you act unhibited. Usually it was a good thing.
You shook out the blanket and laid it on the bed, smoothing it over the dingy comforter. It wouldn't be the most comfortable sleep, but at least it was something. He was staring again, trying not to make it obvious, but it was. You could feel it, but didn't really mind it. It was more of a curious gaze than a lustful one.
You turned back to face him as he averted his eyes, his face a bit flushed. It was cute. You sat down, leaning back on your hands as the tension started to ease, a small contented sigh leaving your lips. "I'm so glad we found this place" you said, your eyes closed. "I don't think I could have carried on any longer out there." A smile tugging lightly on your lips. James returned your small smile. "Yea, I know what you mean". He shifted a bit, eyes glancing towards the door. "I should let you rest now, you've earned it." He started to turn towards the door. "I can... keep watch outside if you need me." "Where are you going?" Your voice stopped him in his tracks.
He turned back to you, meeting your eyes. You had sat forward a bit, eyes worried and confused. "I thought- I should keep watch outside while you.. get some rest." Your gaze was hard to meet. You stood up, walking slowly toward him, keeping a small distance between the two of you. This was dangerous, he knew it was. "James?" The way you said his name, so sweet, unassuming. Almost like- He froze as you closed the distance, placing your hand on his arm. "James." He met your gaze this time. It was like you were trying to peer into his soul, into all parts of him. It made him feel as if he was slowly losing control.
"Please don't go". He couldn't speak. The words were there, what he should say "no it's not safe, I should keep watch outside, I'll be fine" were caught in his throat. He hadn't been looked at like this, needed like this in some time. Your hand curled into his jacket. Your eyes following it, grounding yourself. "I'd rather you stay here, with me". He felt like he couldn't breathe. "You look exhausted James, you should rest here too". "The-" his voice was unusually quiet. "It's not safe..the-" "You can protect me from in here, can't you?" He slowly nodded his head, begrudgingly. "Please James" you said, tugging him closer to you. It was far too close to be deemed appropriate, but you desperately needed the comfort. You knew he did too. You leaned your head against his chest."Just stay here with me". A long beat of silence hung thick in the air. His voice was barely above a whisper, but you could feel it through his chest. "Okay".

ㅤ Once Upon a Time is a thirteen-year old’s fanfiction that was found by the creators of Lost and stolen for a show in hopes of making some money off the teen population. If the half-formed faux-edgy characters or bad acting doesn’t sell you on just how poorly this show was made, the terrible CGI definitely will. The first season revolves around a character named Emma Swan, aka The Savior, coming to the town of Storybrooke where her son tries to convince her that the town is actually full of fairytale characters that are under a memory erasing spell. The show has a way of making you forget that you’re watching a fairytale story until later you realize that “Oh! They just had Prince Charming cheat on his wife with Snow White. And then The Evil Queen framed Snow White for the murder of Prince Charming’s wife by hiding that wife’s heart in a box in the place Snow and Charming would always meet.”
ㅤ While the first season seems Wild, each subsequent season tries to outdo itself. The following seasons follow a clear formula constantly trying to convince you that it’s a good show. The creator’s favorite persuasion is to twist the usual fairytale stories and then play a dramatic stinger underneath it as if to convince the viewer to say, “oh shit!” Each time it makes this attempt, I am met with an intense feeling, but not the intended one. It’s a burst of laughter, a burn of secondhand embarrassment, and the impulse to share it with a friend so I don’t have to go through it alone (and may I say, I think my friends are starting to get sick of me).
The show is held together by attempts to be a show that makes the viewer sit at the edge of the seat waiting to see what happens next. These attempts often involve corrupting or redeeming a “good” or “evil” character respectively. While the show constantly brings in numerous characters from Disney movies or any other existing story for that matter (such as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, or 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea), it seems to forget this sometimes, so we are left with characters who have been corrupted and redeemed 6 times alone (in Rumpelstiltskin’s case).
Might I also add that the show often does a twist saying that two fairytale characters were actually the same one. If we take Rumpelstiltskin as an example again, he is at least three different characters off the top of my head. He also happens to be the Crocodile from Peter Pan and the Beast from Beauty and the Beast. This isn’t even counting the family tree. Please feel free to skip the rest of this paragraph while I sort that out. Rumpelstiltskin is the son of Peter Pan (who’s evil) and the Black Fairy (who’s the origin of all evil or something?). He has a grandson, Henry, who is also the grandson of Snow White and Prince Charming. Henry also happens to be the adopted son of Regina, aka The Evil Queen. Regina if the daughter of the Queen of hearts and the sister of the Wicked Witch of the West. She’s also Snow White’s step-mother. Regina also happens to be soulmates with Robin Hood, who’s previous wife was sentenced to death by Regina before the curse. And Robin also had a daughter with the Wicked Witch but he didn’t know it was her at the time because she was pretending to be his dead wife.
I’m stopping myself there. If you read any of that, you now hopefully know how complicated the lore is and how near impossible it is to explain. You may have also gleaned how fucking stupid it is. That was all just a small section of the family tree. The actual lore of this show involves people who are definitively good or evil (but they can be redeemed) and authors who are all powerful gods who control Everything but are also just Some Guy. And of course, a being of pure light magic called The Savior (Emma Swan aka Snow White and Prince Charming’s child) and a being of pure dark magic called The Dark One (Rumplestiltskin). I forced myself through the show. High out of my mind if I had to. And I gotta say, folks.
            I kinda love this show.
At some point it starts to get confusing what the creators were thinking while making this show. You drive yourself crazy trying to put yourself in their heads. Do they know how dogshit it is? Are they trying to convince me this dogshit is actually fucking ratatouille? Or do they know it’s bad?
By the end of season 6, I started to get the feeling that the writers had finally decided to accept that no one in the universe would consider this a good show; however, the show must go on so they may as well have fun with it. They finally left behind the attempts and just leaned into how bizarre the lore they’re spun truly is. They timeskip and they say. “Hey. We know that we’ve gone too far. We know we crossed a line somewhere along the way. But buddy? We’re not turning around. We’re gonna find throw back some brewskis and have a little fun.” And they decide to say that, “Actually? All those characters you just saw? The seemingly infinite number of them? That’s just the start. They’re just one of an actually infinite number of that same character that exists in the multiverse. We’re gonna make a new main character and she’s gonna be Cinderella. Yes, I know we already introduced Cinderella in season one. But this is a different Cinderella. From a different thirteen tear old’s fanfiction. “
And so it becomes a show that clearly knows it’s bad. And I sit there and realize I had fun. And I realize that I’m still having fun. And I realize that that was the point. I spent the whole show taking everything so seriously, and for that, I partially blame the show for taking itself seriously. But somewhere along the way, the show stopped. And I followed suit shortly after. And it was fun.
I loved watching Once Upon a Time.

Holy shit Hyde
Tgs spoilers ahead (kinda late but I had a lot of thoughts)
Hyde is going through the 5 stages of grief right now, he’s already going through the first two so thats how I will break it up
But before I get to that bro is throwing a fit like a toddler and I love him for it!
Denial
Hyde’s denial is like, genuinely kinda sad, I want to hear it in a show because I can just imagine his voice shaky trying to keep it even but struggling because this is the first time he’s officially alone.
He’s in charge now, there is no Jekyll in his head anymore, something he seemed to want but never really knew how to control.
Tumblr media
The internal thoughts of Hyde are so real in this moment, man is on the verge of of a panic attack because Jekyll has left him, he always has wanted to be separate from Jekyll and now that he is he dosent want to be, he still needs him desperately.
Tumblr media
Hyde yelling at his thoughts to shut up is so impactful, (and relatable) he dosent like his anxiety and doesn’t want it to overtake him but it’s hard not to.
In a way it’s like he wants to yell at Jekyll for getting in his head but he knows it’s not Jekyll anymore, he knows that these are his own thoughts, he knows this is him. Theres no denying it anymore, it’s his anxiety, his thoughts, it’s not Jekyll’s thoughts, it’s not Jekyll.
Hyde yelling at himself leads to the next topic
Anger
The way Hyde lashed out was confusing to me at first but it makes sense
Jekyll is an organized, put together, and clean person(or at least thats how he likes to present himself) and Hyde knows this, so he thinks if he can ruin Jekylls work, make a mess of things, Jekyll will try and stop him, Jekyll will get mad, Jekyll will come back
It is also Hyde expressing his own emotions about the situation, about how angry he is at Jekyll for leaving him, how angry he is about being abandoned, how angry he is at himself for letting all of this happen.
He was the one who revealed Jekyll and he knows that, that’s what his thoughts are telling him, even if not said in the pages blatantly, thats what he’s telling himself, thats what we can see and infer.
Tumblr media
In this panel we can see that Hyde is also doing it in a hope to get the upper hand, hope that he can have power over Jekyll again, he is not used to Jekyll being the one that scares him.
“I’ll destroy everything you love” He’s trying to be intimidating again, trying to get to Jekyll, threaten him, anything to get the upper hand, anything to scare Jekyll back
He’s been losing his control over situations with Jekyll for a while but right when he felt like he had gotten that control back it was taken away from him once again, he can’t even have control over his thoughts
He’s acting like a child acting out to get attention because he dosen’t know how else to act in this moment, he’s lost, angry, and alone, it shows how with no sense of control some people just act on impulse, anything to try and get that sense back
Anyway, i know this is a little long but this update was great and I had a lot to say
