Hyde and Lanyon are so silly guys i love them so much

Wooo another “sick” day with a TGS update this is my medicine

These two are so perfect for each other oh my god(im also a sucker for relationships where they make fun of each other sooo)

Lanyon knew that if he taunted Hyde he would be able to reach him and convince him because of how Hydes mind and Reputation works.

He has always said he’s the spirit of london at night, at the end of chapter 3 he claims that because he’s the spirit of London at night he has nothing to fear, Lanyon was playing those words so Hyde confidence back.

Lanyon and Hyde’s personalities are able to bounce off of each other which is what Hyde used to Piss Lanyon off initially, but now it’s used to help each other in this trying time.

But just because Lanyon is teasing him he isnt not caring, he’s just making a bad time a little lighter. “I’ll be right here when you get back” He cares so much for Hyde and Jekyll and he wants them both back and safe because he loves both sides, now he realizes that. He doesn’t want to chose one or the other, he might’ve felt in love with Hydes side first but he cares for both.

Even if Lanyon seems to care more about Hyde in this chapter it’s because Hyde is the part he’s talking to and it’s because he’s finding out all of this new information. He cares for both but when put with it he has one mind set currently which is making sure they’re ok.

At first, i was shocked that Hyde could just go into the mind scape but after thinking about it, it makes sense.

In a way this is what Jekyll did, or what Hyde and Jekyll do when they force the other to swap with them, but the reason why Hyde just went into it this time is because there was no one to swap with (supposedly)

Hyde isn’t positive if Jekyll has gone down the stair case but if him and Jekyll are as similar as he thinks then he did, we saw of course Jekyll floating down so we know but Hyde doesn’t.

He is relying in his own intuition and what he would do to get into the mind of Jekyll. He knows that Jekyll is more like him than Jekyll wants to think, the potion didn’t separate them in many ways.

Living in eachothers minds meant that at some point they shared thoughts, like how they both have a reputation they want to keep up.

Hyde is using his knowledge of how similar they are to scope out where he may be and he is going to use it in an attempt to save Jekyll as well.

My (personal) thoughts on Jimmy Mouthwashing and how the fandom perceives him: did anyone ask for this, no, but i just wanna talk about him!

Jimmy is the most hated character in mouthwashing, and for good reason, his actions are morally wrong and what he did to Anya is just absolutely disgusting and horrible. But is Jimmy a bad character? No.

Yes he’s a bad person but thats because he’s well written, and sometimes the fandom seems to skip over all of that. There is a reason why for 80% of the game you play as Jimmy, you are supposed to feel this connection to him, you need to play as him to understand why most of the crew was able to follow him, he’s good at manipulating even the person playing.

Jimmy has so much depth to him, everything we see through his eyes is for a reason, the way we see characters through his perspective is for a reason, and thats what makes him such a great character.

Everyone tries to ignore him most of the time “oh sorry you had to draw Jimbob” or stuff like that and while it’s funny it’s not the only view you should have. Jimmy’s character is not meant to be pushed to the side, if he was you wouldn’t play the game through his eyes.

This man is smart, conniving, manipulative, and jealous of power he’s not able to handle. This is apart of the theme that is taking responsibility but Jimmy is usually mischaracterized as this dumb evil horse lover.

He’s not the only one who seems to mischaracterized, Curly is too. Everyone seems to act like he’s this perfect dude whose great for Anya and would be the hero but he is just as in fault as Jimmy.

Curly was the one who knew Jimmy and always saw the best in him, it is heavily applied that he knew what Jimmy was doing to Anya and did nothing about it when Anya didnt even have to say his name for Curly to know. This is because Curly thought of Jimmy as his friend and his right hand man (which is also kinda mischaracterized)

Curly didn’t just like, hate jimmy all of this time, no they were friends, and Jimmy’s betrayal hit him. Curly also had troubles with taking responsibility, he didn’t take responsibility for how he did almost nothing to stop Jimmy and also he couldn’t take responsibility for being the captain and keeping everyone safe.

You play as both perspectives so you see how similar the two are in some ways and how different they are in others. It’s not a question of if Curly’s better for Anya because thats not the point, the point is to show that they both are at fault and both cant take responsibility which isnt shown that often.

Anya doesn’t need Curly, she needs time to heal, she needs to go to therapy and take care of herself, not date someone who was friends with her abuser. She needs time before she should be in a relationship with anyone because what happened to her is a traumatic experience that no one should go through.

Also Daisuke and his thoughts on Jimmy as well seem to be twisted. Daisuke trusted Jimmy, theres a reason why Jimmy was able to convince him to climb into the vent, its because Daisuke felt almost kinda safe, like he could trust him.

This is because Jimmy is a good manipulator, however a character acts around Jimmy is because Jimmy has shaped them to feel that way, Daisuke wouldn’t have just climbed in there if he didn’t think that Jimmy wouldn’t mean for him to get hurt, even though we might see that he did we have to put our perspective with Daisuke.

Personally I hate Jimmys actions and who he is as a person but I love his character, i like how it’s portrayed in such a new and unique way. Every character in mouthwashing is (I didnt talk about Swansea because I couldn’t think of anything at the moment😔)

I feel as though while no one should forgive Jimmys actions, they should see that he’s a good character and very very well written and is not meant to just be pushed into the background. His toxic masculinity, his manipulative mind, his incapability to take responsibility even in the end when he put Curly in the pod instead of himself, its all written for a reason.

I uh, hope you enjoyed this ramble, it’s something I’m very passionate about because i really really like character analysis and character writing and Jimmy’s character is one of my favorites to just try and figure out the inter workings of.

Hyde has always been trying to survive, Everything he’s done, it was a defense mechanism.

Him trying to have the belief that he’s imortal so he can live freely, he’s always been scared from the beginning but just pushed it down so far that he didn’t think of it anymore, it became an automatic trigger but when he was alone more with more dangers it caught up to him again.

Hyde did everything because he was trying to survive, and now he’s so close to death he feels like everything is lost. Even him avoiding Lanyon, it was all a defense mechanism, he was to scared that feeling would harm him.

Hyde tearing up the pannel after this and him finally letting his guard down means so much, with Lanyon, he feels safe, like he will live, and Surviving is still important to him and the fact that Lanyon saw through his act is what breaks him.

Hyde is not ok and that help is something he knows he needs to accept, even if he doesn’t want to

Ok ok, so I’m re reading Tgs and at the end of Chapter two Hyde says “For i am the Spirit of London at night, and I have nothing to fear”

But now he is scared because this is one danger he cant face head on, it’s all phycological. He’s afraid of being alone and he’s afraid that he’ll go too deep and die.

Before this point Hyde thought he was immortal, he could do anything with no fear, but after having so many experiences on the outside he’s gained a more Anxious mind set.

He feels lost, he cant control Jekyll anymore, he cant control is thoughts, and that terrifies him knowing that he’s no longer this all powerful being.

Lanyon has a sense of this, while he might not know much about Hyde, he knows that hyde was once scared of nothing and he is trying to get Hyde to think that way again, even if its for just one more adventure.

Thats why he’s teasing him with the “Since when was the Spirit of London at night afraid of Danger?” He wants to get that spark in Hyde again so Hyde can be brave enough to get Jekyll back, not only for the society and Lanyon, but for himself, because Hyde is truly lost without Jekyll

He’s opening up guys :( I love him so much.

I never thought about Hyde feeling empty about Jekyll being gone, in a way Jekyll was Hydes conscious, keeping him at bay even with how much Hyde went against it.

Jekyll was apart of Hyde just as much as Hyde was apart of Jekyll, if one is gone there will always be something missing from the other because they share memories, experiences, and in a way personalities.

Seeing Hyde so scared, he is scared, but he also looks broken, like he’s a shell of who he was before. He no longer has his hyped up attitude, he’s much calmer, because he Dosent have a reason to go against Jekyll when there is no Jekyll

Also why does Lanyon have that, “you have anxiety, just stop worrying” energy.

Hyde feels as though him and Jekyll are separated because he cant feel Jekyll anymore, its just him, its quiet, lonely, he feels as though he’ll be forever alone. And Lanyon is here like “oh just go get him” (I love Lanyon i just found this funny)

This is the first time weve seen the stair well completely empty.

Now the reason I wanna talk about this panel is because of the line “He’s gone too deep” now while it means literally, Jekyll has gone way to deep in the mindscape to be drawn out, but it could also refer to him being to deep in this lie.

Jekyll has gone so deep in living two lives that its now crumbling apart, keep in mind the little show thing when they were getting sponsors was around 12 hours ago.

Jekyll has seen how deep he was in this lie and put an end to it by going deeper into the mind. It’s not a resolution as much as it is just a desperate last effort to at least get away.

Is Hyde going to drink the temporary death potion? It’s the only way i can think of that would allow him to find Jekyll. We saw with the Dracula short story that they can be in the mind at the same time if theres something keeping one of them from being on the outside.

How much would he need to drink to communicate for a while but it still be “safe” Also Hydes worries are so Valid bro, like yeah it’s terrifying, no ones know how far Jekyll is. He should be scared, he should be worried, its something no ones done before and Jekyll is serious, whats saying he wont just bring Hyde down with him in a split of anger

Yet we have Lanyon with the one liner “since when is the spirt of london at night is afraid of a little danger” idk why but this is so funny to me, its gonna become a new Vocal stim I cant stop saying it.

I dont think i have anything to say that hasnt been said before. Anyway, im excited to see where this goes
