You loved both of your boyfriends, but sometimes Holt could be a bit much. Take for example earlier that day. You'd been trying to practice some spells for homework but kept getting distracted because of how loud his music was.

Holt got upset when you asked him to turn it down, and it escalated into a fight pretty quickly. You grabbed your stuff and left, deciding to finish your work somewhere else. Part of you wanted to go back and apologize, but your pride wouldn't let you, especially when it was technically his fault.

"Hey," Jackson's soft voice called out as he hesitantly approached you. "I just wanted to come and apologize. I- I know it wasn't my fault, technically, but I still feel really bad."

A faint smile formed on your face at his attempted apology. "It's fine. I'm not that upset, I just needed to get some air. I forgive you, both of you, so don't worry."

It was as if a weight had been lifted from Jackson's shoulders. Sure, he wasn't the one who caused you to be upset, but he still couldn't help but feel just a tad bit guilty for it happening. "Good, I'm glad to hear it. Do- do you want to hang out again, maybe?"

You let out a quiet chuckle at his bashful nature. No matter how long you'd been together, he still always got so nervous around you. "Absolutely. I'd love nothing more."

I've started to watch (g1) Monster High again for nostalgia and again grew attached to Jackson and Holt's character once again. (They were my favorites growing up lol.)

So I've thought about Jackson Jekyll-Yuu. Mainly feminine since they would just look like Jackson normally as a male. But back to the topic, Jackson Jekyll-Yuu would still be treated as a magicless human ("Normie") but of course others wouldn't be aware of their alter ego Holt along with them (Jackson wasn't able to be aware or remember being Holt, but in Ghouls Rule he is aware and 'willingly' turns into Holt in situations.). So when Holt does takeover it would throw others off since they'd assume it's an unannounced new student but wonder where Jackson Jekyll-Yuu had gone off to when Holt-Yuu appeared. It probably wouldn't take too long for the others to realize Jackson-Yuu and Holt are the same person. Though if it did they all probably would have found out similarly to Frankie when she saw Jackson turn into Holt after Cleo accidentally played loud music in front of Jackson. So music would be the thing to transform them but make Jackson Jekyll-Yuu nervous as I'd assume Jackson felt pain when turning into Holt since he is shown stressing and getting anxious since it's something he's scared of, and him and Holt never got along.

Anyway here's a little image of what they look like. (Pretty much a genderbend i guess?)

Jackson is described to be simple and plain as he doesn't like standing out. So Jackson Jekyll-Yuu would act the same and prefer to remain unnoticed even though they are 'magicless' to others.

Also I feel like Malleus would almost be like Frankie when with Jackson Jekyll-Yuu and Holt-Yuu since they already do have his attention for not being scared of him and treating him normally (Holt-Yuu would definitely be bold with their compliments twords him similarly to how Holt was with Frankie.)

In the diaries, it’s revealed that Jackson and Holt’s trigger used to be night and day, before changing.

Regarding the transformations, imagine how terrifying it was for Holt’s parents that he just. Ceased to exist for no discernible reason, before learning the trigger can change.

What was the first night Holt wasn’t triggered like? What was Jackson thinking that he just one day, was able to stay up past sunset. Did he notice his parents panic? How long did they keep up the facade that everything was fine before revealing the existence of Holt?

And what did Holt think, who when finally triggered again learnt that suddenly days went by? And that his existence is determined by the battery of his phone?

Monster high Freaky Fusion except the fusion machine was created by Jackson. He’s sick and tired of people bullying and looking down on him for being part normie.

Holt belongs here, but Jackson never will. He can’t go to the normie world because it’ll put Holt in danger. So he’s decided to do himself and Holt a favour in separating them both.

Much like his great grandfather, Henry Jekyll tried long ago. It’s his research Jackson’s using and while Holt is supportive, imagining all the parties he can throw and fun he can have.

He’s not as jazzed about this as Jackson is.

Unfortunately Manny decided to ruin Jackson’s hard work causing the machine to malfunction and misfire.

Turning several monster high students into hybrids. Jackson and Holt teach them how to cope with their new situation, and in doing so become closer.

Everyone sees what life is like for Jackson and realises how poorly they’ve been treating for him.

Jackson learns from his great grandfathers mistakes, embraces his mixed heritage and finally gets the love he deserves.

They throw a party, one with Jackson friendly music so he can join in this time. It was Holt and Heaths idea.

Jackson Jekyll’s mom always interested me because I always had a headcanon that Jekyll or Hyde side would come out more depending on the kid.

Like I imagine his mom’s Hyde side would come out more with Jackson, especially when he was younger, because she’s more worried about him being harmed and wants to protect him. I especially know she came out after the whole Ghoul’s Rule bullshit cause there’s no way her son was arrested, almost put to death, and she just sat still. Like you know the headmistresses office must’ve sounded crazy the next morning.

And I love to think his mother’s Jekyll side is out more when Holt is there, mainly just to keep him calm and dote on him. You know she definitely tells everyone at her job about her babies music!

Pete: A poltergeist. Peter Geist just wants to be invisible but he’s constantly getting into mischief with his friends that draws too much attention to himself!

Steph: Mummy cause she’s gotta keep family secrets UNDER WRAPS ;) and in MH the DeNiles are also a powerful family so having the Lauters be mummies is just so…

Richie: Freshwater monster!! He wishes he was a Ningen from the western Pacific but actually he’s just from Lake Michigan lol he loves swimming and sushi and you can tell when he’s dehydrated when the blue on his hair starts to turn brown!

Ruth: Frankenstein’s monster. Kinda a given with FrankenRuth. I imagine she’s constantly altering her body parts to try to be as attractive to others as possible. The bolts are on her temples and her headgear attaches to it

Grace: Vampire. It’s funny because she doesn’t get to touch a cross AND Angela is Italian so no garlic for Grace :(

Max: A Jekyll and Hyde type creature. I imagine his Jekyll side is the Max we see in the Waylon place, and The Jägerman persona is the Hyde, and the Hyde half is easily triggered when he’s overwhelmed or intimidated and is hard to control. Not necessarily kept at bay without music like Jackson and Holt, but hey what are you gonna do, amiright?

Brenda and Stacy are definitely werecats that roll in the same pack, Jason is a fellow vampire, and Kyle is a werewolf which is part of the reason Max wouldn’t let him date Brenda

in 2022 i had a 9 month monster high fixation, specifically jackson and holt. back then i knew no music theory but now that im learning about time signatures, i need to ask....HOW THE HELL WOULD THEIR GIMMICK WORK?????

it's generally understood that listening to music is what triggers jackson to transform into holt, but what not a lot of people know is that in the diaries it specifies 4/4 music over 90 decibels. so he can listen to music. while music in general is still a very questionable trigger, the specification makes it even worse. let me explain but using mostly radiohead songs.

pyramid song is notoriously really confusing to count. is it 4/4? mixed meter? could he listen to that? can jackson listen to mixed meter songs??? like not a radiohead example but listen to hey ya by outkast and imagine holt dancing to the 4/4 bars and then jackson really quickly switching in for the one bar of 2/4 and then back out again. that's fucking hilarious, right?? but then, what counts? a lot of things can be heard as different time signatures depending on how you count them, right?? could he cope listening to sail to the moon? would that kill him? paranoid android switches it up. can he listen to certain segments of the song? how does his brain know? is it the mathematician in him? can he listen to songs where parts of the instrumentation is in a different time signature like the let down guitar? what happens when the drums kick in? can he only listen to the first like 10 seconds?? imagine that. i fear the people behind the 4/4 timing bit really didn't think this hard about it. what the fuck.

anyways, all i can say for sure is that he CAN NOT listen to creep by radiohead. however, he could listen to a decent chunk of radiohead and mitski if the jekyll and hyde rule is lenient.

Got autistic about dolls! Drew Dipper and Mabel as the twin children of Dr. Jekyll / Hyde. Yes, I know, Jackson Jekyll exists, but he's the grandchild of Jekyll, and I couldn't resist. I think mad science runs in the family.

I imagine their storyline would deal with the debate of which child is Jekyll, and which one is Hyde. Mabel is neat and shiny, and Dipper is rough and sardonic, but Dipper's the smart one and Mabel is the chaotic one. There's an aesop here about living up to your parents.

Mabel would LOVE being at Ever After High and hasn't read her fathers tale. Being a scientist doesn't sound as cool as being a princess, but it'll do. Dipper would start biting things

oh man, the first dr that pops into my head with this one is obviously my percy jackson dr. a lot of these lyrics are my thoughts towards luke post-betrayal. he was my mentor, I trusted him, saw him as a brother—and he not only betrayed us all, but he tried to kill me. it sort of set me off onto a revenge quest throughout the whole war with kronos

okay, first of all, this musical literally slaps. jekyll and hyde my beloved. but, the dr that pops into my head with this song is my arcane dr. not quite the same, but it reminds me of how I struggle with my actions and choices after silco's death. but, then I get a burst of inspiration, remembering why I started this fight in the first place—the dream of zaun's independence.

obviously, this reminds me of my marauders dr. the vibe is immaculate, I love 70s music. but, it also is my mindset through most of my hogwarts years. I kind of have a nonchalant and unbothered demeanor, unruffled by most conflict or rumors. so, whenever people try to start stuff about my and my friends they know that I won't be shaken for a second by any of it.

oh I love this song so much and it, once again, reminds me of the period in my arcane dr where I'm coping with losing silco. I can imagine the lyrics of this song as his words to me as I take over his position as eye of zaun and ringleader of the rebellion against piltover.

V. ☆⋆｡ when he died — lemon demon

literally love this song, and it reminds me of my sherlock dr. not because of something that happened there, but more so the vibe. this is the type of case that scotland yard would totally call us in for. I can already see sherlock poking around this dead guy's mansion muttering "how curious..." under his breath. he'd love this kind of puzzle. I also, unfortunately, could see my father setting it up.

VI. ☆⋆｡ transgender dysphoria blues — against me!

this song could remind me of almost all of my drs, because I script myself as trans into almost every one. it's just part of who I am. but, specifically, this song reminds me of my spider-verse dr. not only because of the references to the coast and I'm very close to it, living in glasgow, but also the sound reminds me of my band, the mary janes.

oh this is such baddie energy that I hold in my percy jackson fame dr. everything about this reminds me of myself there and also my music. I am a bit of a drama queen, but I deserve my nepotism moment! also a boyfriend who adores me yesyes. bonus points of my associating this song with this dr is literally marina opening for me on one of my tours and we sing this song together.

VIII. ☆⋆｡ butchered tongue — hozier

oh I'm so glad I landed on this song. it's literally my favorite hozier song of all time, it makes me almost cry sometimes. it reminds me of all my drs, where I'm deeply connected to the culture I was born into, while here I didn't get that blessing. irish and scottish culture are deeply connected with each other, and while hozier is singing about ireland here, but I relate it to scotland—where our language is actively being killed. I'm literally so excited to shift and hear this language being spoken so freely, having survived persecution and colonization there. my gaidhlig mentor always would say "broken gaidhlig is better than no gaidhlig at all" and that's what I relate this song to. a language surviving, and me shifting to go home and hear it spoken like it should be.

was rewatching a few eps of monster high yesterday and it got me thinking of a thanos squad monster high au,,,,,,,,

first thing that came to mind for me IMMEDIATELY was vampire nam-gyu,,,, i mean i love vampire aus as is but! i also think it works well with his character in canon the way he's always trying to tempt thanos into giving him a pill which is sort of like a play on nam-gyu trying to "feed off of him" and stuff and i just think that nam-gyu would look beautiful as a vampire ok but i also was thinking about it and perhaps nam-gyu as a sort of siren? the same idea of him persuading thanos and reeling him in.........

for thanos i was getting heath vibes from him like. thanos being a fire elemental like heath because he is just so out there and of course, thanos thinks he's hot shit, so i feel like it works,,, just imagining him with his fire hair and he tries to impress girls with it (it never works) and his pickup lines all have something to do with heat/fire/hot smth along those lines,,,, and i feel like it would also work with his like popstar/celebrity image like he uses his fire abilities as like special effects when he's performing on stage lmao I HOPE U GUYS CAN SEE THIS VISION

for se-mi, she is a werecat <3 i just get such cat vibes from her anyways and her as a werecat just screams right to me!!!! not to mention her beef with nam-gyu is perfect for vampire/werecat rivalry like hellooooo...... but yeah i just think werecat is perfect for her!!!!

ghost gyeong-su....... he is a ghostie who is just always hanging around. same as in canon he LOVES thanos and is obsessed with thanos and actually he and thanos get along really well because since gyeong-su is a ghost he's one of the only people that thanos can't hurt with his flames......

and for min-su i'm thinking of him in a sort of jackson jekyll/holt hyde situation, like he's half human and so the other monsters initially just think he's a normal guy and look down on him for that (not se-mi tho 🤞) , and he's insecure/shy about it, but then he does have a trigger where he does become a monster- and maybe he doesn't even know what that trigger is and so his transformation hasn't happened yet...... honestly this idea came to me because i badly want min-su to crash out and be crazy in s3 so this is my take on that LOL but yeah anyways i love u min-su <33
