ăStray/Catlad!Jason Todd / Readeră
-
Smiling brightly, you happily walk beside the dark-haired boy. He pays you mind, head in a book, ignoring you. A scowl on his face as sound of your foot-steps copying his.
Sighing, he closes the book, pausing, waiting for you to say something. His attention fully on you.
"What." He asks plainly, glancing over your love-sick smile as you happily hold two tickets in your hand. "Hi Jason! I just wanted to know if you would want to go too a movie with mw this weekend?"
Eyes brimming with hope, you watch him frown deeper.
"Can't. I'm busy with work."
"Oh! Well, that's okay. Maybe-"
Jason pockets his book, heading to his bike as he hops on. Putting on his helment as he starts the engenie and drives off.
"...Aw man..." You sigh, deflating as you look at the tickets. Noticing in the corner of your eye a cat themed book mark on the floor.
Picking it up, your face warms up as you beam at the written initals on the back.
"Well, theres always next time! Hmmm.. Maybe I'll pass this tickets to Bruce.. I don't wanna tell Dick though. He'll probably get upset.."
You hold the book mark close, skipping along home.
-
Turning away from the night sky, legs swinging back and forth on the ledge. You overhear a grunt, you glance down. Seeing a fight down below. Catwoman scratching at Batmans chest with her claws as he grits his teeth.
There goes a calm patrol...
Getting up, you feel a hand grab yours, twirling you around, your body bumps into a familar chest...
"Panther..."
You said politely, rolling your eyes with a smile. Taking a step back as you look at him with slight caution.
"Heya Purr-ity~!" He says snarkly, licking his lips as you turn away.
"Eyes up here." He states, grabbing your cheeks. His claw like gloves digging into your face as you gaze at him doe-eyed, scoffing. Swatting away the hand, the wind becomes stronger as your tickets fly out from your pocket.
Damn! You forgot to leave them in your civilian clothes!
Eyes widening, you try to grab them, but was beaten to the punch..!
"Huh... Didn't know you liked the books." He mumbles.
"Well, kinda. I got into them recently and saw the movie was coming out..."
You recalled Jason throwing his copy of the book at you after you spooked him on accident. Hoping to ask him out to a cafe together, instead, you got a free book and a bruised forehead.
What luck!
"...And you coincidentally had two tickets.."
"Yeah? I was gonna' give them to Batman instead-"
The male laughed, throwing his head back at the idea of Bataman watching a romantic historicall fiction movie. All in his get-up as he grumbles nonsense.
"Yeah, no..." He smirks, holding the tickets tighter. "No way he's going to do that! Sides', who he'd go with? Catwoman? Yeah, instant rejection." He says dryly, shrugging his shoulder. "Even those Bird-Brains know better to give that to their Boss."
He mentioned Nightwing and Robin, shrugging.
You sneakily try to grab the papers back, yet he easily dodged.
"Guess' you and I are going."
"Wha-?"
You feel him pick you up, slung over his shoulder. Half-expecting him to throw you. Instead, he starts running as he carries you!?

Jason Todd in this Au, is succsessfull in stealing the wheels off the bat-mobile. That catches the attention of certain cat-like thief. So he becomes her protege. Super Easy.
I headcanon Jason being kinda closed off in his Au, but slowly becomes more open. He's happier in his own little world with his books and Selina's multiple cats.
-
"Panther..? No.. Move! Move please! Move you stupid cat! Panther!"
Pushing away the thief, the sound of a crowbear smashing into your sides rung in the desolate area. "AUGH-!" You scream, Joker laughing as you fall and crash into one of the shipping crates of Joker-Gas.
"..Purrincess..?" Panther spoke slowly, the nickname a bit bitter on his tounge, more fond of Purr-ity. Yet it meant nothing now, no sweet familiar giggle. Nor playful banter..
Instead, horrible laughter.
In this Au, Jason doesn't die. But hates Joker in general. While.. Heroine(Y/N) doesn't suffer OG Jasom Todd fate..
Possibly, but super close calls.
Also, made up a small au where she has a Ric Graysom situation, so a possible idea too. Dunno, I wont decide.
"D'aww... How sweet! Give it up for lovers!" The clown cackled as the henchman stare in horror. Blinking out of his shock, the thief snarls in a animalistic manner. Yelling as he grab one of his guns, pointing at the head of the stupid clown.
-
"Wow..! Ears! So cute!" You said in awe, wearing your civilian clothes as the thief grumbles. Looking away, not bothering with you. Even when you and the other, "hostages" sat as Catwoman snagged the musem jewlery.
You sweat a bit, not partically used to his cold shoulder. Often him hogging your vigilante time instead.
-
Pressing a soft kiss on your knuckle, you eye Jasons bloodied hands worriedly. Sure, you adored the contact, but you were worried.
"Thank you, for your help- B-but your hurt!" You make sure your hands cup around his. Worriedly glancing around for a bandage or calling one of the officers.
Protective Nightwing Lol.
"Don't worry, (V/N)! Got one of the paramedics right here!"
You pout as Nightwing gets in the middle of you and Jason. Pushing the health care hero between you two. The Big Bird ushering you to Bat's side.
[What?? More Batboys as Cat Thiefs?? Yes. Originally, i wanted to call him. "Alley-Cat", but found out there already was one! Anyway, yay! Comments and art are always wanted and appriciated!]

There For Me (Harley Quinn X Batsis!Reader)
Characters: Harley Quinn X Batsis!Reader, Batfam X Batsis!Reader
Universe: DC, Batman
Warnings: Unhealthy family relationships (Parentification) Mild mention of a past abusive relationship (Harley & Joker) Mention of stalking, mention of death
Request: A bruce wayne and daughter, she is an adult. Mainly responsible for her siblings. She is sick of being the responible one. She is really good friends with harley and ivy and they take her in. She is secrectly dating harley. Batman comes too take her back but she tells him she is very happy and harley protects her girlfriend. Bruce accepts and lets them be.
Notes: Kind of strayed from the request near the end, I kind of got carried away with this lol
Ever since you were a child, you were well aware that your relationship and role within your family was different to a lot of other families. It wasnât the norm by any sense, even for Gotham. Your mom was never in the picture, leaving you in the hospital you were born in with a note about where to find your dad, and after a test to confirm it, you were sent to live with your dad, who at the time was the opposite of responsible, and was a mess still, if the whole getting a woman pregnant who then left you without a second thought wasnât something to go by. It was no surprise that Alfred ended up being your actual primary caregiver for your early years. That, and the whole secret life as Batman he actually had the foresight to know it was best you didnât know about.Â
You found out when you were 10, coming down in the middle of the night for something to drink after a nightmare, finding your dad badly beaten and barely conscious in the kitchen, also looking for something to drink. You stared at each other for a moment in horror, but after a moment, you swallowed, grabbing a cup, getting some cold water, and went back to bed without a word. Bruce told Alfred what happened, and Alfred explained everything after school the next day. That day changed a lot for you. You realised partly why your dad was almost always absent, that Alfred was helping him keep your city safe, and that anytime you needed help with something was basically time taken away from Alfred that he could be spending making sure your dad wasnât bleeding out somewhere or in need of help. As soon as you got home that day, you immediately began the process of becoming as independent as possible.Â
By the time your dad brought Dick home, you were entirely independent, but also very emotionally cut off from your dad and Alfred. You didnât interact with Dick for a few days until he was up in the middle of the night due to a nightmare, and you came down as well, fixing a snack to share and then going back up to his room to keep him occupied till he was ready to go back to bed. It was after that point that Dick started to open up a bit more, especially with you. After Dick had grown into an adult and you two spent a night off drinking and catching up, he admitted to you that when he first joined the family, he wasnât sure on what your role was in it, thinking maybe you were a recent adoptee as well and just werenât adjusting well, and it took over a month for him to realise you were Bruceâs biological kid.Â
When Jason arrived, you already had a rough idea of what to do as your role as a big sister to dysfunctional traumatised little brothers, though Jasonâs anger issues did make it a bit more difficult to bond with him. However, you quickly found that if you challenged his own anger with your silent resentment and frustration with your dad for not actually doing what a dad is supposed to, you two would actually bond over your frustrations, cause a bit of havoc together to blow of some steam.Â
Jason exposed you to two things. One, he showed you that you had every right to be more angry with Bruce about the fact that you had to raise yourself and now the kids he was bringing into the manor than you are. Two, it was because of you two causing a bit of mischief that you met Harley Quinn.
You had been doing some art outside to release some of your emotions in a healthy way, or as Bruce would call it, Vandalism in the form of graffiti, when you heard police sirens, and you both scattered to get away from the scene, getting separated and you ended up on the bad side of town, and was just trying to find a safe route home without having to call anyone, especially Bruce or Alfred, for help, and hoping that Jason was okay. Unfortunately, you ended up crossing paths with a group of business students, who decided to catcall, harass, and after you ignored them completely, decided to start following you. Fortunately, it was then that you took a sharp turn to try and lose them and bumped right into Harley, who was with her own posse of goons. You two stared at each other for no longer than a second, and in that second, you two had entire conversation purely through your eyes. Then she heard the men behind you, far enough away to not see who you had bumped into to realise they should run, but close enough for Harley to hear them laugh and tell the men surrounding her to grab you for them. He face contorted to anger for a moment.
âThey bothering you?â She asked shortly, and you nodded, honestly scared to mutter a word. She took your arm, pulling you behind her. âBoys, time to teach these men some manners!â She ordered, and in a matter of seconds, Harleyâs goons were chasing the men down the street and out of sight. You couldnât help the small laugh that left your mouth at the sight. âYou alright? Did they grab ya?âÂ
âNo- no, they were just being creeps. Thanks.â You told her as she turned back to you, the streetlamp now lighting up your face better, and she was able to see your face clearer, and also now actually identify you, and you saw her eyes widen and realised she knew who you were.Â
âArenât you Wayneâs daughter? What you doing out here? Iâm sure daddy wouldnât approve of you being out here.â She stated, hands on her hips, almost motherly, which was funny considering that you werenât even a teenager anymore, now a young woman in your early twenties, only about 5-6 years younger than Harley.Â
âI was supposed to be supervising my little brother while he released some stress in some street art.â You told her. She arched an eyebrow.Â
âYou and the younger Wayne were doing vandalism?â She clarified, and she saw the twinge of a smirk on your face before you tucked it back, and she grinned. âI like you, little trouble maker! Whereâs your brother now?âÂ
âI donât know, honestly. We heard sirens nearby and scattered. Heâs a lot more street smart than me though- obviously.â You said, gesturing down the street to the incident Harley just prevented.Â
âWhy not call your dad?â She asked, and you couldnât help the loud and quick laugh that left you, which told her a lot. âYou two⊠not close?âÂ
âNo⊠never were, honestly⊠I uh, Iâve always looked after myself, and these days Iâm looking after my adoptive siblings. Bruce isnât good with the whole kids having emotions things, so Iâm trying to help Jason get his anger out in ways that donât involve needing first aid kits constantly stocked up.â You explained to her, hands in your pockets, rocking back and forth, finding it hard to stand still. You had no clue why you were admitting all this to Harley, especially since she was literally an enemy of your dad, but the way she had immediately defended you, and was taking the time to listen to you made you feel safe with her.Â
âThat sucks, toots⊠you must be pretty lonely⊠say, if you ever find yourself back out here or just want a call or something and rant, call this number, okay? I might not answer right away, this is kind of a private cell, so donât tell anyone, but Iâll get back to you, okay?â She said, plucking a gel pen from a pocket of her loud chequered jacket, grabbing your arm to pull your hand out your pocket and noting down a number on your palm. When she was done, she tucked it back into her pocket. âCome on, Iâll walk you to the edge of the nicer part of town, okay?â She said, wrapping her arm in yours and pulling you along with her. She did as she said, walking you to a safer part of town, reminding you to call her if needed (also if you couldnât find Jason so she could look for him for you) and you parted ways.
She was the one you ended up calling when Jason was killed.
You didnât talk to anyone for over a month after his death, other than the odd text to Dick to respond to him or to just make sure he was alright, but one night when things were really bad for you- your dad basically nearly killing himself every night, Alfred locked up in the cave trying to prevent him from actually dying, Dick away doing his own thing after arguing with Bruce, you were entirely alone in your mourning, completely lost in what youâre supposed to do next. You had no little brother to keep your mind busy with worrying and caring for, no one to make you feel needed. No one to make you feel wanted. You were completely alone.
You had called her as a last ditch effort, seeing no harm in at least trying, remembering she was once a psychiatrist. And sure, she was once affiliated with the Joker, but she had distanced herself from him, clearly a victim herself, and had been keeping a low profile ever since. You werenât even sure she would pick up, probably changing her number, but she did pick up. âHello?âÂ
âHarley?â You asked in a whisper. âThis is⊠um, itâs Y/N. Wayne⊠you um, helped me out a while ago with some creeps, gave me this numberâŠâ You recollected to her.Â
âI remember⊠heard about your brother⊠Not gonna say sorry, Iâm pretty sure youâve heard it a billion times and Iâm probably a person you donât wanna hear it from⊠you doing okay?âÂ
âNot reallyâŠâ You admitted, sniffling. âIâm not doing good⊠I know you said to call if I needed help with something⊠I just⊠Iâm alone and I donât want to be. Is there somewhere we can just meet even if itâs just for an hour?â You asked.Â
âYeah of course!â You werenât honestly expecting her immediate agreement. âWe can have a girlâs night, me, you, and Ivy- Iâve been staying with her for a while now, Iâm sure she wonât mind! Where do you want to meet?âÂ
You met her a few blocks away, and she walked with you to a small one bedroom apartment where Ivy was waiting already, lounged on the cramped couch. She didnât ask questions as Harley introduced you as Bruce Wayneâs daughter, who was in need of some TLC after everything that happened with Jason, in fact the only questions she asked was âDo you want to get wasted or hold onto the pillow of emotions and tell us all about it?âÂ
âThe pillow of emotions?â You asked, and she held up the pillow right next to her- a blanket, that even in the dim lighting you could tell was as soft as a childhood teddy, the perfect size and shape to squeeze tightly as you cried your eyes out. You pointed to it, and she handed it over, and it wasnât long till you were on the couch next to Ivy, Harley sat on the floor, both women listening and nodding along as you hugged the pillow, sobbing and ranting about everything. From you basically being raised by Alfred, to you being more like a mother than a sister to Dick and Jason despite not even being that much older than Dick, and how because of that, you felt like a failure when Jason died, like you failed at being his protector, and how now you were all alone- Dick doing his own thing, your dad acting like Jason never even existed, and Alfred being too busy making sure your dad was actually caring for himself to notice you might even need help.Â
Honestly, a part of you expected these women, who themselves had been through hell and way worse than you, to roll their eyes, point out how you had daddyâs money to buy a therapist and figure it out yourself, but they didnât. In fact in the end, when you finally got it all off your chest, both wrapped you in their arms, promising you that they were there, that they cared, and that this apartment always had space for you if you ever wanted to get away. You found yourself there at least once a week. When Bruce brought Tim home, you fluctuated between spending almost every day there or being at home keeping an eye and trying to care for the new brother, until Tim expressed his independence and you went back to spending more time with the girls.Â
5 years after Jasonâs death, a lot of things changed.Â
One, your friendship with Harley became more than a friendship, and you three mutually agreed that it was time for an upgrade in apartment, and you officially moved out, creating much more distance between yourself and your dad, though with Tim around and Bruce now getting more of a grip on his self-destructive behaviours, you were able to call and come visit Alfred, Tim and Dick who had moved back in on occasion, though you now mostly interacted with Dick and Tim (who had warmed up to you a lot more) outside of the manor.Â
Two, Jason came back. It was shocking for everyone involved, especially since he was full to the brim of rage and fury, especially against Bruce. He worked with Scarecrow to poison the entire city, and the second you heard it was him through Dick, you tried to leave the safety of the apartment that you had promised your girlfriend you wouldnât leave to try and find him, only for Ivy to find you quickly, seeing you in a panic and trying to run into the city without anyway to protect yourself, and in fear that youâd been affected by the fear toxin, she sedated you herself until it was all over and hopefully the toxin had left your body. When she woke you up with Harley there, your immediate question was if Jason was okay. Harley thought you were having issues with your memory due to the sedation and the toxin, but after talking with you for longer, explaining the call you had gotten from Dick, and also letting slip that your family was also the bat family, and that Jason was the Robin that had been killed, the girls gave you the rundown of what they knew. Bruce was alive. Dick and Tim were alive, and the Arkham Knight, who was apparently Jason, had disappeared, not confirmed alive or dead. Harley escorted you back to the manor to get answers on what happened, and to try and get in contact with Jason. You got confirmation that he was alive, but was still pissed off at Bruce and was not contacting the family for the time being.Â
That didnât sit right with you. So you went out into the city to one of the places you two would hang around, mess around, graffiti, where youâd complain about Bruce together, and had the best time of your lives. And you waited. And waited. You ignored all your phone calls and texts, simply dropping a text to Harley promising youâd be home soon and you were alright before turning your phone off, and waited more. When the air started to become too nippy for you as you continued to pace in the small snicket, head low, arms crossed and noticing you could see your breath now, you finally thought about leaving. Giving up for now, trying another day or another technique. It was then you felt something heavy drop on your shoulders, and someone pat you on the back. You looked up, startled at the tall man beside you, but even more so at his features that you could recognize instantly. âJason?â You asked, getting a faint smile from him. That was all you needed, pulling the man into a tight hug, his heavy leather jacket nearly falling off your shoulders.Â
You caught up with Jason. You told him how youâd moved out of the manor, how no one in the family actually knew where you lived, and you let the cat out the bag about your roommates being Ivy and Harley, who was actually your girlfriend, and how you met Harley that night where you two got separated in the city, and how she was the one you came to when he died. In classic Jason style, he was far more angry over the fact that Bruce totally left you alone to mourn him and you had to turn to another victim of Jokerâs for comfort than you living with two criminals and dating one. In fact, he warmed up pretty quickly to it, knowing they at least can protect you âunlike Bruceâ. He walked you home, promising to be in touch. You went inside, seeing Harley beside herself with worry, and after her throwing herself at you to hold you close and make sure you were alright, you told her everything, and after Jason and you got a form of communication, Harley and Ivy gave Jason the thumbs up to be allowed into the girl cave, the only real rule being to not tell Bruce or the others about the living arrangement in any way, which was easy enough.Â
For a while, things were tense but working in the Wayne family. Jason was still limited to no contact with Bruce, only talking to Dick on occasion when they ran into each other, but almost all contact between them was through you, which resulted in you having more contact with Bruce, though things were still incredibly tense between you two, so often Dick and Tim became a filter for you both, which you despised. Still, the boys would always called you when they needed you, and so it was them who called you to let you know that Bruce had another child- this one biologically his. Your half brother. Damian.Â
You let yourself into the manor, quickly rushing down into the cave to hear everyone bickering, Dick and your now youngest brother in the midst of a fight, though when Bruce spotted you and called your name, they stopped and looked at you. Damian stepped towards you, and Dick immediately held one of his Escrima sticks in front of him to stop him, and Tim stepped forward to be in front of you slightly, telling you that those two didnât trust him to not hurt you. You patted Tim on the shoulder to tell him it was alright before stepping around him, and then you looked at Dick. âPut it away.â You told him. He did as told, though hesitantly. Damian remained still, though he glared at you. You showed him the palms of your hands casually. âNo weapons on me, other than a taser, but thatâs for creeps in the street.â You told him.Â
âWho are you?â He demanded. âAnother stray my father picked up off the streets?â Ah. Volatile, lashing out, not caring about hurting feelings. Reminded you of a certain someoneâŠ
âIn a way, I guess. Iâm your sister. Your half sister. Biologically related.â You explained, nodding your head in your fatherâs direction, who was stood off to the side. His eyes widened, before his eyebrows knitted together and his frown deepended.Â
âI wasnât aware father had an older child.âÂ
âYeah, he had me pretty young, and Iâve mostly been out of the spotlight- I like keeping a low profile.â You explained to him, stepping forward casually. âI always joked that father dearest never wanted a girl and always wanted to only have boys- why he had Dick, Tim and Jason, so hopefully now youâre here, I donât have to worry about raising anymore boys on his behalf.â You joked, offering a hand to him. You felt Dick and Tim tense at your action and proximity. Damian stared at your hand, then back at you, before taking your hand and you shaked it with a smile. âWelcome to the family, Damian. Iâm Y/N, the eldest Wayne sibling, and your big sister. If you need anything, anything at all, you call for me, okay? Iâll be there.âÂ
You kept that promise to him, like you had the boys. He didnât call you or contact you for a good few months. He only really interacted with you when either Bruce, Alfred or one of the other boys called for you and you went to the manor to negotiate, or to meet one of them on patrol to talk, and he was tagging along with them because Bruce didnât trust him alone, but he witnessed his âbrothersâ call you the second they had a problem, especially at home with Bruce, and every time you picked up, arranged to meet them, and came over. At first he hated how you got into fights with Bruce, especially when advocating for Jason, but when he realised that you were doing it on the boys behalf, especially when you got into a fight with Bruce for him regarding his grades and getting calls from teachers, he finally asked Dick for your phone number, and he asked to speak with you while he was on patrol. You agreed, arranging to meet him nearby.Â
âYou okay Damian?â You asked as soon as you saw him in the snicket. He nodded, not saying anything at first. âYou havenât ever called me before, so something big must have happened.âÂ
âWhy do you fight for me and the others on our behalf to father?â He asked bluntly. You stared surprised for a moment, before walking closer to him.Â
âI donât have a good relationship withâŠfather. Never have, and Iâve accepted Iâll probably never will. A long time ago, I just kept my mouth shut, let him ignore my existence despite living in the same building, and I was mostly alone. The Dick came along, and he was far more present for him than he ever was for me, but still, he wasnât⊠there, there. He was still lacking, mostly emotionally, and I found myself just⊠filling the gap. Making up where he missed the mark. I looked after Dick when he was going through mourning of his parents, I was the one who helped Jason get some of his anger out, I was the only one who accepted Tim into the family from the get-go⊠Iâm the one the boys call when they need help. Not Bruce⊠My girlfriend- donât tell dad about her- is a psychiatrist, and she calls it parentification. Itâs when a child, often the oldest, takes on a role similar to that of a parent, caring for younger siblings, and at times, the parents themselves. It complicates relationships between the younger ones and the eldest as well- like you boys turning to me rather than Bruce when you have issues. It usually damages the relationships in the family later on.â You explained to him.Â
âDo you resent father for doing that?â He asked. You knew you couldnât lie to Damian- he wasnât naive by any sense, and you guessed heâd tell you were lying.Â
âHonestly? Yes. Absolutely. I didnât have a childhood, and I had to grow up quickly to care for the boys he chose to have.â
âDo you resent Dick, Jason and Tim? Do you resent me? You said yourself you think he only wanted boys, and while Iâm biologically his like you, heâs present for me like he was Dick.â He inquired. You stepped even closer till you were both straining your necks to meet eye contact. You reached out, holding his face with your hands, warming his cheeks with your calms.Â
âNever⊠Those few years before Dick came home⊠were some of the worst years of my life. I was⊠so alone. When you boys showed up, I wasnât alone anymore. I had purpose, something to keep me busy. Whenever I get a text from Jason complaining about Bruce, or Dick asking me to stop by, or simply Tim asking to get him coffee⊠I donât mind, because they need me, and they trust me, and they love me, and I love them. Theyâre my brothers. Your my youngest brother, and I love you unconditionally, okay?â You promised him, and he nodded, before stepping back, turning on his heel, and going to leave the alley, before he paused, turning and looking over his shoulder at you.Â
âI wonât tell father about your girlfriend⊠Does anyone else know?âÂ
âOnly Jason. I donât trust the others to not freak out about her, especially Bruce.â You told him. He nodded, and carried on his way. He started to text you from time to time like Jason did. Short and blunt. He never told you straight out he loved you- Dick said it all the time when saying goodbye, Jason said it on occasion, usually concealing it with sentences, Tim said it usually in the middle of the compliment, but never Damian. Instead he would simply text you âhope youâre safeâ at the end of the beginning of a conversation. When you realised that was him saying he loved you, you realised he said it the most out of the boys.Â
More time passed, things were going good in your family if you ignored Bruce, and things were going extremely well with you and Harley. You were both now looking for a new place to live away from Ivy- her idea, she was planning to move in with Selina. However, the move was postponed when signs of Joker being near your current apartment started to show up, and Harley became anxious, and with very good reason. You hurriedly moved Harley and Ivy into Selinaâs apartment and you temporarily moved back into the manor. Just in time it seemed- your old apartment complex was the victim of arson, the substances used to light the fire making it burn green. It was obvious who set it.Â
Jason heard first, rushing to the manor, ignoring Bruceâs calls to come and find you, holding you tightly, relieved that you were safe, before he explained what had happened, and that it was an attack by Joker. He said that, in front of not only Bruce, but all your other brothers. They all, including Bruce, freaked out.
âJoker targetted you?!â Dick freaked out.
âNo he-âÂ
âYouâre staying at a safehouse for now, alright? Weâll fit it up and make it homely.â Tim decided.
âNo, thatâs not needed-â
âY/N, youâre in danger, you canât leave our sight.â Bruce ordered.Â
âHe wasnât targeting me!â You snapped, making them all stop. âHe wasnât targeting me. He was targeting my roommate⊠my girlfriend.âÂ
âYour girlfriend?â Bruce asked.Â
âWhy?â Damian asked. You glanced at Jason anxiously, the only person who knew all the details. He instantly wrapped an arm around your shoulder, ready to put himself between you and everyone else if they tried anything, and get you out of there in a timely fashion if necessary.Â
âMy girlfriend is Harley. Quinn. Weâve been dating for a few years.â You admitted. Everyone stood stiff for a moment.Â
âWhat?!â Bruce finally snapped, moving forward. Jason immediately held his arm out, pulling you behind him.Â
âYou stay the fuck away from my sister, Bruce.â He glared.Â
âYou knew?â Tim asked at Jason.Â
âI did too.â Damian spoke up, trying to show solidarity with you and Jason, jumping to be beside you as well. âI didnât know it was Harley, but from what sheâs told me, she treats her well and loves Y/N.â Damian defended.Â
âIâve met her. Harley loves Y/N. She was there for Y/N when I died, unlike you. She looks after Y/N.â Jason defended. Bruce stared at you.Â
âWhereâs Harley?âÂ
âIâm not telling you. Her life's in danger, sheâs in hiding⊠weâre going to meet up soon and⊠weâre leaving Gotham. Temporarily. Just until Joker forgets she exists, then weâre getting a new apartment, maybe somewhere closer to Jason.â You explained.Â
âYou canât leave Gotham with her!â Bruce snapped.Â
âWhy not?â Tim asked. Bruceâs head snapped around to him. âIf Joker gets an inkling that Harley has a girlfriend, especially if itâs Y/N Wayne, heâll go after her. Itâs better safe than sorry.âÂ
âAnything we can do from here? We can get you two a safehouse in another city till things calm down.â Dick offered. You smiled at him and nodded, and he smiled sadly. âWe should cause a scene to keep him occupied so he doesnât have time to realise Harleyâs gone off the grid. One of us should also escort you both just in case.Â
âIâll do that.â Jason decided. âAtleast you know if worst comes to worse and Joker tries to stop you leaving, Iâll fucking kill him.âÂ
âDo none of you care about what I think?â Bruce asked.Â
âNo. We donât. This has nothing to do with you. This is to do about the safety of Y/N and her girlfriend from her girlfriendâs abusive ex. This is about what is best for them, and what we can do to make things easier for them. Youâve never cared about her. Youâve never put her first and done whatâs best for her. Leave us to deal with this, and stay out of it.â Jason snapped at him. Bruce looked around, seeing to see if anyone- even you- would tell Jason off. No one did. Without another word, Jason pushed you to go with Damian and Tim to go pack some things while he went to get a car from the garage for you and Harley and your things, and Dick got his phone out to start making calls for somewhere safe for you to stay. Bruce stared at Dick, the only one left in the room. He saw that Bruce was waiting for him to talk to him, say anything to him.Â
âY/N has always been there for us, no matter what. This is the only time sheâs ever said sheâs needed our help. Weâre taking it.â He told him simply, before putting his phone to his ear and leaving the room, leaving Bruce alone, unsure on what to do or what to say.Â
Hope you like it! If you have any questions, please send them in!

Stephanie Brown ACTUALLY having the character arc that fanon pretends Jason Todd had (plus a defence of canon Jason)
What I'm really saying is that Stephanie Brown is underappreciated, Jason Todd is often misinterpreted, and, though it should go without saying, ignoring canon is poor media literacy. So let's actually analyse canon and get to the bottom of what the stories are trying to say and how they use their characters to tell this, as opposed to just which character should we stan.
I'm arguing that Stephanie Brown's story actually features a redemption arc that sees her transform from a violent, almost murderous teenager into the most unwaveringly hopeful of heroes and that Jason's story is about a villain who we're meant to empathise with to expose the cracks in the Batman's heroic facade; a Frankenstein's monster if you will. Here's a numbered list:
Part 1: Outgrowing Violence, Anger and Murder
A big part of Stephanie Brown's growth in canon is her learning not to kill or use excessive force. But it's not as simple as just killing is wrong, don't question it.
Let's begin with the narrative's relationship to violence, anger and murder. Why doesn't Batman kill? Because "[those] who [fight] with monsters might take care lest [they] thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you". If he kills, he's playing god, choosing who gets to live and die. No one deserves that kind of absolute power and absolute power also corrupts. Batman doesn't want to lose sight of himself or his cause. Deliberate murder is treated VERY negatively in the Batman mythos.
Enter Stephanie Brown.
Stephanie was a working class latchkey kid who grew up on the wrong side of the tracks. She had an abusive, criminal father, who was in and out of jail, and a mother struggling with addiction, who Steph became a carer for at just 15. Steph also became pregnant with the child of her horrible ex. At 16, she gave birth to that child and had to give her up for adoption. Steph is also a survivor.
The world was never kind to Steph and left this teenager with a hell of a lot of bitterness and rage which her vigilante career became an outlet for. You can tell by the way she fights since Steph fights DIRTY; she'll tug hair and spit in your eyes and strike below the belt and catch a kick to twist your ankle and dislodge your already broken nose. On the one hand; the narrative tells us Steph is resourceful. She's 5'5", 130 lb and has zero powers, but can always find an opening even when going up against Gotham's grizzliest. It's telling that quick thinking, savviness and spontaneity become her thing when she becomes Batgirl; Steph is the wild card. On the other hand, she was a real diamond in the rough and a complete loose canon. In her first arc, it's Batman who stops her from making the biggest mistake of her life; killing her dad. To deliberately kill; to play god, is to lose yourself, remember. Her first arc is about not being defined by who your parents are and about not giving up on yourself. Batman basically tells her, there's hope for you yet Stephanie Brown, by getting her to spare her dad. And she does. And so began her superhero career.
Nonetheless, it's never that simple. Steph is still a bitter, angry teenager, no matter how many jokes she cracks. It becomes a personal crusade when she, now Robin, discovers that The Penguin is using children as runners. It takes Cassandra Cain to stop her from inflicting anything she may regret.
The narrative wants to show us how cruel the world can be and that it isn't black and white, either. The story ends with an angry Stephanie lamenting "why". It's a "why" she is asking herself too. Why does she do what she does? And it informs us that she, and maybe us the reader too, still have a lot to learn. Murder's not the answer but what is?
Stephanie later saves Bruce by almost murdering serial killer Victor Zsasz. Bruce reprimands her and she cries, quite honestly, "I don't get it, I really don't", following on from where we left off in Batgirl. "There are always other options than to kill" asserts Bruce, forget not being on the same page, they're reading different books. The thesis of the story is what Bruce should have told Steph when she was an angry 15 year old about to murder her dad; "[those] who [fight] with monsters might take care lest [they] thereby become a monster". The world's cruel, Steph, but that doesn't mean you have to be too. "Are you firing me?" "No, I'm teaching you".
Over 2 years down the line, an around 19 year old Stephanie, establishing herself as the new, hoping-inspiring Batgirl, is now teaching a brash Damian Wayne what she's learned.
"To murder or not to murder" is just a plot device to the themes of overcoming your own anger at the world's cruelty to contribute good, coming to terms with shades of grey, not giving up on yourself and staying hopeful in the face of adversity and horror. These are Stephanie's arcs and as a consequence, she goes from would-be-murderer to Gotham's cheeriest caped crusader.
Part 2: Double Standards and Second Chances
Another huge part of Stephanie's story is her overcoming double standards and doubters, to earn her own second chances. Her resurrection and rise to the role of Batgirl were choices made to hammer home this theme; it's never too late to turn things around.
There's some juicy metatext to analyse here too. DC editorial's treatment of Stephanie during War Games was horrific and panned by both fans and writers. To reperate for these harms, Steph was retconned back to life and then made Batgirl during Batman: Reborn. Here's a quote by Batgirl (2009) author Bryan Q. Miller on what his run aimed to bring out of Steph:
The whole point of Stephanie's resurrection and take over of the Batgirl title was to give her a redemption arc.
In text, Stephanie was unfairly treated too, notwithstanding that she was brash and had a massive violent streak in her Spoiler and Robin days. Tim Drake constantly condescends her and tells her to give up vigilante life, even though she was ALWAYS a match for Tim according to Convergence: Batgirl. Cassandra Cain constantly underestimates Steph. Bruce Wayne tells his allies to cut off ties with Steph and then later fires her as Robin for DISOBEYING HIM as if that's not the first thing Dick Grayson ever did as Robin. Barbara Gordon tells Steph she has a death wish. Dick deems Steph too reckless (moments before he resurrects a zombie Batman). And Damian is an entitled brat who gives her a hard time for no reason. Everyone doubts Stephanie and it generally says more about the doubter than it does Stephanie.
Stephanie was never great with authority or criticism so she still went out there and earned her second chance. And it felt rewarding when her doubters came around too.
Stephanie was brought back from the dead to be redeemed and man did she take that chance!
Part 3: What is Jason Todd's Story Meant to Tell Us and My Defence of Canon Jason
Jason Todd returns from the dead as a ghost of Batman's past; he is the living embodiment of Batman's greatest mistake who couldn't stay buried and is back to haunt him. He's a character we are meant to empathise with but he's a villain nonetheless. He's not irredeemable but for the most part his story is not really about redemption. Succinctly, it revolves around the idea that "we are each our own devil, and we make this world our hellâ to quote Oscar Wilde.
When we first meet the resurrected Jason, he's a cold-blooded murderer who's slinging guns and using The Joker's old moniker. These choices are made to emphasise that he went down the wrong path; he's breaking Batman's "don't play god" rule and his actions become eerily closer to those of the Clown Prince of Crime than Batman's. In fact Nightwing and Batman spend some quality time together in the next two issues because Nightwing is the foil to the Red Hood; he's what Bruce considers his greatest success. Remember that thing about "those who [fight] with monsters might take care lest [they] thereby become a monster"? Well Jason DID become a monster. And if he's the monster, then Bruce Wayne is Frankenstein.
We're not supposed to think "yes, kill the The Joker, Jason", we're supposed to think "good god, please Jason, it's not too late to turn your life around". Here's Dick and Jason being the exact opposite of each other, an issue apart.
So what was Jason's villainous return trying to say? For one, that people are the products of their circumstance, lest we forget Jason was once an eager and studious Robin who just wanted to be part of something greater when life, but specifically Bruce, sent him awry. This is also a story about Bruce which tells us says that our mistakes have consequences that don't stay buried, and that we will always be forced to reckon with our histories or it becomes everyone's problem. This next panel shows this best. All of Jason's killing and torture and fear-spreading and chaos does not come down to some "murder or not to murder" debate, it comes down to his relationship with Bruce. He is the monster that Frankenstein created who's back to haunt him and no one is safe.
Jason's initial Red Hood arcs were never supposed to pose the question "should Batman kill The Joker or not?". The answer is no and always has been. They are supposed to show us how Bruce's poor fatherhood of and partnership with Jason Todd led to all this horror. And Bruce can't turn back the clock, he has to reckon with the consequences of his actions in the present or more people will get hurt. It's significant that these first arcs don't end with Jason returning to the manor and seeking help surrounded by family.
We then see Jason and his issues with Bruce threaten the lives of others like when he beat Tim half to death twice, tried to blow up Mia Dearden and then tried to become a murderous, gun-touting Batman after Bruce's "death".
Once Dick Grayson becomes Batman, the narrative sheds a bit more light on how Bruce's Frankenstein created a monster in Jason; Bruce wanted Jason to be another Dick Grayson.
The red hair is a perfect metaphor. Jason is naturally red-haired and he is now balding because Bruce made him dye his hair black so he'd look like Dick as Robin. That sums it up for me. Bruce really created his own demon here and Dick, as the new Batman, is trying to make amends with the sins of the Batman's past. Jason's a great choice for a Dick Grayson villain because of their histories, considering Dick Grayson is the legacy Batman.
"I tried really hard to be what batman wanted me to be...which is you." Jason tells Dick.
That line is so painful and way more recognisable and relatable than anything fanon has produced.
"But this world...this dirty, twisted, cruel and ugly dungheap had...other plans for me."
Look no further, this is who Jason Todd is.
That's a powerful story if you ask me, and this is why I like Jason Todd as a character; a villain I pity deeply, who is portrayed as a product of their circumstances without diminishing their agency and who makes me see the cracks in the hero's facade because they are the monster our "hero" created. He's also a very nuanced foil to the ever-shining light that is Dick Grayson. The appeal to Mary Shelley's Frankenstein isn't that the monster murdered people. I also would never swap canon Jason out for, I dunno, Wayne Family Adventures Jason who's the amalgamation of 3 or 4 common fanon tropes. This is my two cents.

Logically given the nature of Jasonâs resurrection there's really no way he'd have autopsy scars. Emotionally, spiritually, and subjectively, however, I really want my zombie boy to have autopsy scars.
The way Iâve decided to reconcile these two facts is that I think Jason should get an autopsy scar tattoo. I think he should plop himself down in the sketchiest tattoo parlor in crime alley and have them ink a giant jagged Y on his chest. I think once heâs on so-so-ish terms with the bats and theyâre sort of cooperating on missions he should go back to the cave after patrol and change his shirt in front of Bruce so he sees it. I think heâs enough of a drama queen for that.
#to me this headcanon is funny but to Bruce itâs literally the meanest thing in the world lmao#jason tood#bruce wayne#batman#dc comics#ivy rambles

Cat Jazz, Danny, and Dani
Cat Jazz, Danny, and Dani look like Cheetah, just smaller. Danny and Dani took Jazz with them to explore an abandoned temple in the Ghost Zone. They stumble upon an ancient amulet that, unbeknownst to them, possesses the power to transform individuals into anthropomorphic creatures. When they accidentally activate it, they find themselves transported to a portal that they have turned Jazz, Danny, and Dani were turned into cat anthros, all three of them. Jazz was now a humanoid red cat; Danny and Dani were black and white. Jazz players like Danny and Dani had noticed that it had done wonders for their balancing. In Gotham No one was sure where the three humanoid cats came from in Gotham, but then no one really did anything about it. I mean a normal meta or something like Cheetah. Well, Selina Kyle, as she heard about them, she made her way to them, but they seemed to run away more from her! Then let themselves be "saved" (kidnapped) by her. To Selina's defense: adorable kittens! Selina felt like crying. She, Catwoman, wasn't able to get the tiny kittens to follow her. At the Night.
Well, Jason took the family in after he caught the older female one taking out Joker's eye. He has two eyes in a jar. And she flirted with the small cat lady. Jason sees how Joker's eyes were on the Red Catgirl's nails:"So this is why B. always goes to her..." Jazz wasn't sure what to say; she just clawed out a creepy clown's eyes. Next thing she knew, this person came in and shot the clown in the knees. Makes a selfie and starts flirting with her. Jazz was willing to follow him if he helped them against that furry who hunts them. Jason: "A human-size bat?" Jazz:" A cat!" Jason:" Well that Makes sense... but sure." This was how Jason, started to live in his Apartment with the 3 Anthro Cats. And later Damian joined as Dani hit him in the Face for a Joke, and helped him with saving animals. Background:
Danny was still doing hero work even in a new World, as Phantom Cat boy. And working as a team with Wonder Girl who had gone Solo. Which made Cheetah and Diana look at both funny as they while fighting saw them. I mean public already made funny jokes about it, as it look like 2 mothers fight each other because they don't like the Romeo and Juliet between both children.

A lot of people say that the whole pit rage thing was Jason takes away what's interesting about his character. I don't agree, and even when I love the pit rage angle (my first approach to dc was arrow so that's why I love it so much) I don't think it's necessary to still say he wasn't in his right mind when he did what he did.
We're his feelings valid? 100%
Did he actually believe that death was the only way to stop some people? Yeah, that doesn't make him insane.
But, I do think he was very traumatized and acted accordingly. I don't think he actually wanted to hurt Tim, I don't think he wanted to hurt Bruce or Dick. I think he was manipulated (maybe on porpoise, or maybe Talia just told him what she believed, I mean, she believes in killing, so to her ofc Bruce didn't avenged Jason and didn't care, because to her caring would be killing the Joker. You can see it as her manipulating him on porpoise, which I don't think it's what happened, or she actually believed what she told him) and with the pain he felt, and the memory loss and ptsd, he acted out of character. I do think he actually believes killing some people is necessary, I don't think the amount of violence of his actions makes sense unless he isn't actually in his right mind. Not everyone breaks the same and at the same time or in the same way. People break and show their worst sides sometimes, and that is killing beyond what's necessary even to him. Another way to look at it is the writers wanted him to be bad, not caring what made sense or not.
I still really like the whole pit rage thing. But someone extremely traumatized also can act without realizing what they are doing, and they can also have memory loss of what they've done, and they can also do things that if they hadn't been triggered they wouldn't have done.

Isabela and Jason co-parenting Dog
So we canonically know that when Jason isn't around it's Isabela who takes care of Dog, and she does not consider her her's. She say's that Dog is Jason so that makes her Jason's dogsitter. But let's move it a step further. Let's make Dog their both.
So I've done a post already about why I think they are the best canonical ship for Jason, but the thing I love about it is how it's one of a few ships where I don't want them to have some happily ever after together for the rest of their live's things.
Because they work as an of and on relationship. They are casual. Above anything else, they're friends, and even if we were to give them actual love, I still think it would work like in canon.
And now about Dog. Jason as Red Hood especially in his Outlaw era is not home often. He's running around the world, so let's say he's on 'bussiness trips'. Isabela is a flight attendant, so she is also often out of country, sometimes for longer, sometimes for shorter. It makes them both unable of being a dog owners, but if they co-parent it's perfect.
Give me them checking their scheduels to plan who will have Dog when. Give me them screaming at each other because "you can't feed her pizza! It's bad for dogs! Now she doesn't want her normal food!". Give me them calling each other at random times when they're away because "how is she? I'll be back as fast as I can" and "she's got separation anxiety, you need to come back!"
But also them going out on a date night that one time they're both in Gotham and they desperatly search for a dogsitter.
Oh, and Essence of course. Because I'd say Isabela is now the owner of the Blood Blade kinda, because she can help by summoning Essence only with that, when she is tired and Dog needs something, Essence is the one doing it. She's kinda co-parenting too.
