I love this idea, omg. I’m not entirely sure how to do the enemies to bffs thing for this, personally I think there would be five minutes of indifference before Kara and Buffy became best friends. Hopefully I did your request justice, anon! Thank you for the request, I hope you like it.

Buffy and Spike were patrolling the streets of National City, the streets were relatively quiet tonight. Buffy huffed, bored, why didn’t this city have any good demons to kill? As they rounded a corner they saw a shadow slip into an alleyway up ahead of them. Quickly, they ran after it and saw a blonde woman wearing a blue suit with a red cape, in front of her was a group of five vampires, they all had their backs to her as they terrorized a young man.

“Hello boys. I certainly hope I’m not interfering with something?” The vampire closest to her jumped and rushed to fight her, but she just threw her hand out and caught him in the sternum, flinging him back into a wall. Buffy and spike watched as the woman effortlessly took down five vampires and helped the man up so he could run away. As the first vampire got up to attack her again, Spike stepped in and staked him.

After both Buffy and Spike had dispatched the rest of the vampires, the woman turned to look at them, a furious look on her face. Stepping closer to the couple, she fixed them with a glare and asked, “Who the hell are you?”

“I’m Buffy, this is Spike. Who are you? Why are you fighting demons? How are you fighting demons?” Buffy’s mind was flickering through a list of demons trying to figure out if the woman in front of her fit any of the descriptions she knew. The woman’s eyes widened for a bit before she responded.

“I’m Supergirl, How are you here? What do you mean demons? These weren’t demons. They were aliens.” As Supergirl finished her a black SUV pulled into the alleyway behind them, a woman with short red hair and a tall black man stepped out of the SUV. As the newcomers approached the group, the man took a hard look at Spike and Buffy. It was almost as if he was trying to look straight through them.

“Hey, where’d they go?” The woman asked as she stepped up to Supergirl, Supergirl just pointed to the two of them and explained what happened before they arrived. Spike was starting to get a bit antsy, something wasn’t adding up, why would the woman say the vampires were aliens? Who were the two people in the SUV? What did she mean, how were they here? As the two women finished their conversation, they turned back to the couple and the redhead let out a groan. “This is why we don’t combine the multiverses into one universe, Kara!”

Before either Buffy or Spike could ask what the hell she meant, an alarm rang from the Man’s watch and moments later Supergirl was flying away. The man turned to look at them, “Why don’t you come with us, we will be able to explain everything at our office.” By the tone of his voice Spike and Buffy could tell that he wasn’t asking, so they stepped into the SUV, not too worried that he could hurt them. As the group pulled out of the alley and onto the street, Buffy shared a questioning glance with Spike a silent ‘what’s going on here?’

Spike shook his head, not having an answer. Not long after pulling onto the street, the SUV parked near a storefront, on the door was a sign, ‘J’onn J’onzz Private Investigator.’ Stepping into the office Buffy glanced around, looking for any hidden threats, when she determined there were none she turned to look at the people in front of her. “Alright, who are you? And what did you mean by combining the multiverse?”

The woman stepped forward and introduced them, “I’m Alex and this is J’onn. Last year, my sister, Supergirl, and a group of people, saved the multiverse after it was being destroyed. In saving it though, they combined the previous multiverse into one universe and created another multiverse. In our original universe, you were fictional characters from a show called ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer.’ But since you’re here, we can pretty much assume that you existed in a different universe in the old multiverse. Wow, that sounds insane, even to me.” Alex turned to J’onn who had a slight smile on his face.

Buffy and Spike stared at Alex and J’onn, not really knowing what to say, was this a prank? If not, then how the hell could they not remember something like the multiverse ending? As the couple stood there in shock, Kara walked through the door, she glanced at them for a moment before turning to J’onn, “Did Alex tell them they were a TV show yet?” J’onn nodded and Kara hummed before turning to look at the couple. “By the way, we were tracking those guys you killed in the alley, we were hoping they’d be able to lead us to an underground human trading and selling group. They were our only leads.”

Spike looked slightly abashed and apologized, “Sorry love, thought we were helping. We didn’t know.” A second later, Buffy shook her head and joined the conversation, “We can help. We’re pretty good at taking down human trading operations.” Not too long after offering to help, Buffy and Spike were following the group into an elevator. When the doors opened up a the top floor, they were greeted by a round room with computers everywhere and a small science lab off to the right of the elevator. In the room was a young woman dressed in a blue suit, a green man and a woman with curly brown hair. The new group of people introduced themselves as Nia, Brainy and Lena.

J’onn led Buffy and Spike to a table in the middle of the room before he began explaining the case to them. “Over the last six weeks, 25 men between the ages of 18 and 30 have gone missing. They all had one thing in common, they were all expecting to meet up with someone who calls themselves “Elvira” on a vampire enthusiast chat group. We were able to track the IP address of the person the men were talking to and we narrowed it down to a man named Alan Colter, turns out Alan died, seven months ago. But we have seen him on several security cameras around the city, not too far from where each man was taken.”

As Buffy listened to the rest of the information J’onn had, she tried to come up with a few ideas as to why vampires would be kidnapping men. A few of the ideas she had were: Slave labor, Food and Sacrifices, none of those sounded good to her.

A few hours later, the group had ordered take out while trying to come up with new ideas and leads. Kara had headed back to work and Buffy had heard Alex say something about Kara being whipped by a cat which made no sense to her. She didn’t really know what. Make of the situation they were in, earlier this evening, Buffy thought that she and Spike would patrol for a few hours and then go and have a relaxing dinner. Now she’s apparently a non fictional, fictional character and aliens are real, if she wasn’t living it she’d be tempted to say it was a really weird dream.

Spike was chatting with J’onn, something about shared life experience and being old. Buffy looked around the room and noticed that the little group worked well together, they were an odd mix but they fit well together. They kind of reminded her of the scoobies, the super powered blonde, her sister, their adoptive dad, the best friends. It was almost jarring how similar they all were. A beeping on the monitor startled Buffy out of her thoughts, just as she was standing up to join everyone by the screen, Kara flew in through the window and stood beside her.

“What’s that?”

“That is a facial recognition alarm, a camera down by the bay has just spotted Alan walking into one of the abandoned warehouses.” J’onn turned back to the groups determined look on his face and told them all to suit up and head out. As everyone gathered. Their weapons and supplies, Kara and J’onn headed back to the window and took off towards the bay. Alex led everyone else to the SUV and followed behind.

At the warehouse, J’onn was standing just outside a gate, waiting for them as they pulled up. He walked up to them and pointed to the building.

“Supergirl said there’s people inside the main building, she can’t see through the windows, they have been painted over.” Alex nodded as she and J’onn led the group through a small opening in the fence. Kara landed next to them while they all raised their weapons and approached the door. A nod from Alex had Kara kicking the door open and they all swarmed in, towards the middle of the room Buffy could see the missing men tied and kneeling in a circle, surrounded by a large pentagram made out of bones. Several robed figures stood in the middle of the circle created by the men, chanting, strands of golden light coming up from the ground were tied around their bodies.

A group of vampires broke off from the man group guarding the humans and attacked. As Buffy fought her way through the vampires, she noticed Kara hovering above them, shooting lasers out of her eyes. Seriously, Dawn was never going to believe her when she heard this. Getting closer and closer to the missing humans, Buffy could tell that the chanting figures were getting nervous, their chanting was beginning to waver and the golden light was beginning to flicker.

Eventually all the vampires were cleared out, the chanting figures were knocked unconscious and police and EMS were there to help the now rescued humans. Kara walked up to Buffy and Spike with a smile on her face and crossed her arms across her chest. “Thanks for helping. We made a pretty good team tonight.”

Buffy smiled, “Yeah we did, didn’t we. Maybe next time the world or universe is ending you can give us a call, we’ll bring the rest of the scoobies.”

“That would be great! Hey are you hungry? I know this place that has the best potstickers in the galaxy.”

As the group headed back to the tower to eat and chat after a long night, Buffy couldn’t help but think: “Nothing’s ever gonna be normal.”

I can’t breathe

Tim realizing the best ways to hide your secret identity is to either be in love with them or to hate them, and since he already has a crush on an actual person he decides to go the hating Robin route

He can’t go about like Bruce does, him and Batman having a weird exes that weren’t ever dating thing, and he can’t do Clark’s I-disagree-with-Superman’s-methods thing because he has to be original and he refuses to go the easy route of having an actual excuse to avoid his secret identity

What Tim decides on is this:

They have beef. The beef will not be explained but there will be twitter wars. When asked they will only respond with “they know what they did”. They are fighting in a Denny’s parking lot. Bets are placed. There is video evidence. Surprisingly Tim wins. This is not explained. It becomes a running meme in Gotham.

Young Justice finds out- they don’t know Robin’s identity- they make fun of him. He kicks their asses in training. They are left questioning if Tim Drake could kick their asses. They belive Tim Drake is an upcoming Rouge. They do not know why Robin has been laughing his head off for the last ten minutes. Then they see a video of Tim face planting while skateboarding. They are no longer concerned. Robin is still laughing. They realize that Robin just really hates Tim and the hatred seems requited. They make their own memes.

Jason comes back to life. He sees the memes. He is confused. If Bruce is Batman, and Tim Drake, Bruce’s son (??? He has parents?), is not Robin, then who is? And does this mean that Bruce did not replace him?

Bruce has no clue this is happening.

Tim is having the time of his life.

5. Sandman: Dream of the Endless

I am thrilled to be here in the year of our lord 2024 enthusing about and making friends over this scrunkly wet cat that I first encountered and dearly loved in high school. (I am more than halfway through my 30’s now, so it has been A WHILE). I’m counting Sandman and DC as separate affairs, sorry not sorry.

6. Our Flag Means Death: Izzy Hands

Loved him even before S2, fascinated, I want to put him in a jar and shake him but also keep him safe forever. I am a little soured on the show after s2, but I have dressed up as Izzy and would gladly do so again so he belongs here.

7. Supergiant Hades: Achilles

This SPECIFIC version of Achilles, who has died and continued growing through his pain and regrets and who is a surrogate parent to my BOI Zagreus, is. Fascinating. To me. I was so angry at first to find myself liking him as much as I did! It’s masterful how much characterization Supergiant implies with relatively little. He’s coming after Izzy on the list bc I came to them both in similar ways, looking at myself falling in love and going oh my god HIM? Seriously? And being like yup that war criminal there is my son now!!! (And now of course I’m fond of him all across the mythological/classical board, oh my god Hadesgame what have you done.)

8. Star Wars: Alexsandr Kallus

The only space nazi redemption arc I will accept. (Although I am watching Andor with friends right now and three double agent gingers across the begins to suggest a pattern which is very entertaining to me.)

Anyway A+ arc, love this bastard man, love his giant cat husband, single-handedly keeping me invested in Star Wars, hope his gay happy ending never gets messed with.

9. Les Miserables: Inspector Javert

Another character that I went oh my god REALLY??? That Guy??? About. But he’s so /funny/ in the Brick and Stars is lovely enough that I learned how to play barre chords on my guitar Just For That and look. Look. He is a bastard but he is MY bastard and I will read every redeemed!Javert fic that crosses my path forever the end. (Also a side note: Kallus was originally sold to me by @lokivangelist as “space Javert”)

10. The Witcher: Dandelion/Jaskier (all versions, but repping Hexer below because that’s my favorite!!!)

Throwing a curveball for the last slot! I’ve got a sad dad/monochrome aesthetic/loyal right hand/shapeshifting nonhuman/rigid worldview kinda pattern happening above, and my boi here slip slides away from almost all of those. Except for the loyalty. This man is an absolute ride or die for Geralt and I love that about him. He is also an obnoxious fuckboi but I love that too, especially in a story as heavy as the Witcher frequently can be. (My runner up for this fandom was gonna be book!Lambert, who is similarly narratively savvy and good at puncturing the heaviness of a scene without being straight up comic relief.)

Mein A/B/O-Arrowverse-AU-Verse:

Diese Serie von mir rekonstruiert das gesammte Arrowverse in einem Alpha/Beta/Omega-Setting. Sie geht gegen Ende der 6. Staffel von "Arrow", der 4. von "The Flash" sowie der jeweils 3. von "Legends of Tomorrow" und "Supergirl" zunehmend AU. "Batwoman" ist inkludiert, allerdings nur die erste Staffel und da auch schon von Anfang sehr anders als im Canon.

Diese Fics wurden zwischen 2017 und 2019 geschrieben, wobei die eigentliche Hauptstory zwischen 2017 und 2018 entstand. Spätere Einträge spielen zwischen den Ereignissen der vorher geposteten Fics. Prinzipiell geht dieses Verse mit dem Ende der 2017/18er Seasons vollkommen AU, daher werden später eingeführte Ereignisse, Charaktere und Ships nur am Rande benahdelt und eingebaut, und in diesen Fic finden sich nur Dinge die vor „Crisis on Infinite Earths“ passiert sind.

Prinzipiell bin ich der Meinung, dass es heute trotzdem noch gut stand hält, wobei der auffälligste Unterschied zum Canon die Tatsache ist, dass fast alles geschrieben wurde bevor Nia aktive Kräfte für den Kampfeinsatz besaß, weswegen sie im Kampf die gleichen Kräfte wie Dream Girl in den Comics verwendet und nicht ihre Canon-Traum-Energie Strahlen und Peitschen. Und natürlich sind die End-Game Pairings andere.

Inzwischen noch witziger ist was alles in meinem Fics passiert ist, bevor es im Canon ebenfalls passiert ist (wie etwa, das Clois-Baby, dass Lena Lex erschießt, Johns Lungenkrebs Storyline, dass Eddie zurückkommt, der Ausflug in die Speed Force während er großen Krise etc) und wie anders manches bei mir ist was der Canon absolut vergessen hat mir aber doch wichtig erschienen ist.

Chronologisch gesehen beginnen wir mit der Kindheit verschiedenster Charaktere und enden mit einer Szene im Jahr 1992, die alles abschließt. Handlungstechnisch enden wir aber im Jahr 2028.

Im Gegensatz zum Canon kriegen hier alle Serien - „Arrow“, „The Flash“, „Supergirl“, „Legends of Tomorrow“ und irgendwie sogar „Batwoman“ - ein Ende und jeder Charakter bekommt eine mehr oder weniger zu Ende erzählte Geschichte. Obwohl die letzte Fic das Ende von „Legends of Tomorrow“ darstellt, gibt es darin trotzdem Gastauftritte von diversen anderen Charakteren, die auf Erde-1 leben (es gibt keine Erdverchmelzung in meiner Version), und wir lernen etwa das zweite West-Allen-Triaden-Kind kennen, weil ich ja im Gegensatz zu Eric Wallace der Meinung bin, dass eine Franchise auch also solche beendet werden sollte.

Da dieses Universum zur Zeit der 2. Staffel von „Legends of Tomorrow“ und „Supergirl“ begonnen hat, sind die Endgame-Pairings entsprechend. Manche Fans werden hier also nicht glücklich werden, aber immerhin gibt es hier im Gegensatz zum Canon ein Ende für alle. Und auch wenn es manche Charaktere aus späteren Staffeln nicht gibt, gibt es trotzdem Happy Ends für andere. So findet Ava letztlich mit Caitlin ihr Glück, Nora wird als Single glücklich etc.

Charaktere, die im Canon gestorben sind, haben hier überlebt. Charaktere, die tot geblieben sind, sind hier zurück gekommen, Charaktere, die im Canon zurück gekommen sind, blieben hier tot, aber am Ende würde ich sagen, dass dieses Universum für mich selbst die befriedigendere Version des Arrowversums war, als der Canon, alleine eben deswegen weil es hier ein Ende für alle gibt und viele der problemtatischen Dinge Post-Crisis nie passiert sind und daher nie zum Problem wurden.

I don’t care that you broke your elbow

The room is silent.

The five of them, J’onn, Alex, Brainy, Kara and Lena sit quietly around the table, not a word spoken between them as the seconds tick by.

Alex looks furious in the way only Alex does: thin lips, tightly folded arms, carefully narrowed stare.

J’onn looks disappointed, hands folded on the table as he leans forwards, eyebrows up and forehead lined.

Brainy looks confused, glancing around at each of them as if trying to work out the math that makes up the choices that led them here.

Lena looks stoic and cold, face blank and expressionless as she sits ramrod straight, perfectly sleek hair over one shoulder.

And Kara looks… well, grumpy, probably. A bit bruised? Dirty, for sure.

She takes a furtive look down at herself without drawing any attention to the movement. Yeah, her hand resting on the table is gross, her wrists are all scraped and- gosh, the ends of her hair are still wet from the bay.

The only part of her that is clean is the white bandage and sling holding her arm to her chest.

When she darts her eyes back up to the group, Alex’s glare is focused directly on her.

Kara feels the urge to respond to the look start to bubble up, but she pushes it down.

Alex’s eyes narrow further.

Kara twists her lips in effort.

Alex tightens her folded arms.

Kara bites on her tongue until it hurts.

Alex quirks one eyebrow.

Kara opens her mouth to snap but moves herself in doing so, jostling her arm and wincing at the pain.

Because yeah, she can feel this stupid broken bone.

But it’s not her fault! Okay, she didn’t wait for backup, okay, she went too full on, okay, she blew out her powers. But, like, whatever! It happens! It’s happened before and it’ll happen again. Honestly she’s not sure why everyone is so moody about it, they’ve worked with and known her long enough to know that diving in headfirst is kind of her thing. She’s just staying on brand! Cat would be so proud.

Anyway, broken bones suck, they hurt, and sun lamps don’t heal them and she’s just going to have to wait for them to heal by themselves. Jeez.

If anyone is to blame it's the alien, surely. They’re the one who had a shell that apparently couldn’t be penetrated without a severely large amount of her power. They’re the one who was way faster than what she’d expected, seeing as it looked like a ten foot high turtle. They’re the one who didn’t find it funny when Kara yelled ‘turtle power!’ while throwing it into the bay, instead launching itself back out simply to grab Kara and pull her back in with it.

All in all it’s the big ninja turtle’s fault, and she refuses to listen to Alex’s ‘we literally have a ray-gun designed to incapacitate that exact alien species and it would have worked if you hadn’t dunked him in the ocean first’ reasoning.

It’s high pressure being supergirl! You’ve gotta think fast, and fast means… fly, punch, zoom, win. Ta-daa!

And now she’s in trouble, everyone sitting there all angry wangry at her because she made them ‘worry unnecessarily’ and ‘could have gotten hurt in her recklessness’ and ‘cost the DEO over one hundred thousand dollars in repair’. And anyway, that last one she really doesn’t get, because seriously the DEO gets attacked at least every other day and yet somehow whenever she comes back the place has been fully repaired. There’s clearly a lot of funding here, enough to fix endless windows by some mystery midnight staff, so surely there’s enough to fix a few little buildings by the waterfront. C’mon.

So, Alex is furious at her, J’onn is disappointed, Brainy is confused he didn’t see it coming, and Lena-

Wait, why is Lena even here?

She doesn’t work here. Did she just… file into the room when everyone else did? What is happening. How did she get here?

Kara chances a glance at the woman, squinting in curiosity.

It makes no sense, Lena has absolutely no reason to be here.

Sure, Lena isn’t exactly Kara’s biggest fan at the moment, what with the whole Supergirl betrayal, so Kara understands why she might want to sit in on the reprimand Kara is probably about to get, but despite that... How did she get in?

Kara quickly looks to Alex, who catches her eye, and Kara indicates Lena with the tiniest tilt of her head. Alex looks at the woman, looks away, then does a double take. She glances back at Kara and opens her mouth once, twice, before snapping it shut again in confusion.

Kara clears her throat to address the… sleek and stylish elephant in the room.

“Uh-”

“You know what?”

Lena’s voice makes Kara jump. The others all stare sharply at Lena, Alex with mounting confusion over the woman’s random inclusion in this… everyone-is-mad-at-Kara session, the others seeming to only just realise Lena is here in the first place.

Lena looks at them one by one, skipping Kara, obviously, of course.

“I’m about to say it.” Lena continues, shaking her head with a humourless chuckle.

Kara hears everyone hold their breath.

Lena turns to stare directly at her.

Lena inhales, chest almost puffing out as she straightens herself even further, shoulders strong and the lines in her face hard as she looks to be gearing up to deliver some scathing insult that will surely knock Kara so hard she’ll break apart in this very room.

Lena glares icily.

“I don’t care that you broke your elbow.”

Silence, for a beat. Then-

Alex snorts.

Inelegant laughter bursts from her as she cackles, making Lena jolt in alarm next to her.

J’onn drops his head into his hand wearily.

Brainy narrows his eyes as he tries to understand Alex’s reaction to Lena’s words.

And Kara- Kara just… gapes. Let’s out an indignant noise, almost a squawk as she stares at Lena.

Kara throws up her hands.

“How did you get in here?”

[screamting]

There are things that Kara misses about Krypton. Especially around the holidays.

She misses her family, misses waking up early on a day to help bake cookies with her mom. To wrapping presents with her dad and reading stories.

She misses the family dinners with Aunt Astra and Uncle Non (before they were arrested) with Aunt Lara and Uncle Jor. Misses the stories they would tell.

She especially misses the food.

She tries not to play the what if game.

What if the planet did survive. Would she be in her home laughing at something Uncle Jor said? Would she be playing with her baby cousin? Watching him grow up.

Where would she be? Married with children of her own? Would she be in the science guild or the arts?

Would she ever find know why Astra went to prison? (Like she did now.)

Sometimes she can’t help it and it brings her in a sad mood. It also takes a lot to get out of but she manages.

When the questions start coming, she has take a step back and watch the amazing people that’s in her life.

Like now, as she’s tucked away in a corner of the Kent house just watching. Watching Eliza and Martha cooking and laughing in the kitchen.

Clark and Conner bonding over something in the living room, with Lois rocking Baby Jonathan to sleep while talking to Nia.

Alex sneaking a bottle of wine from the fridge so her, Kelly and Lena can continue drinking.

Smiling as she watches Winn and James try to explain a game they want to play later to Querl. She can tell that Querl gets it, gets the rules. And she’s wondering if he’s only playing dumb just to screw around with them. It wouldn’t surprise her.

“Are you alright Kara?” J’onn asks, spotting Kara by herself.

She gives him a smile. “Yeah, yeah I’m great.”

And she knows, with people who love her she can get through the questions. And it makes her heart grow warm at the thought that she doesn’t have to go through it alone.
