Danny made an innocent comment comparing Kyle and Dick

Danny is very new in the "official" hero scene so all his comparisons are very surface level. Aka, they are both fun to be around. Easy to talk to. Have a similar build and the same hair colour.

And now Wally is going on a super speed rant about how wrong he is.

Danny, a younger brother, chronic shit starter, always down for a brawl because of his ghost side, enjoyer of having guys on top of him and general menace just let's a smirk spread over his face, chooses violence and then interrupts the speedster by saying.

"They are also both cops"

The look on wally's face is priceless, Danny thinks he'd be dead if the guy had heat vision.

"But at least Kyle is a super space cop, meanwhile-"

"That's it!"

Gar is on the floor laughing and Donna is trying really hard to figure out how she's going to break up a brawl between a guy with superspeed and a ghost she can't touch unless he let's her.

Bruce: You do realize that most of them in Gotham aren’t the real deal, right? They’re just preying on your insecurities for profit.

Dick: You can’t know that for certain, Bruce. Come on, what’s the harm? It’s just for fun.

Bruce: Fine, but I’m not going to believe a word she says, and I’m definitely not getting scammed out of my money.

Bruce: [pushes a thick stack of bills towards her] How do I avoid this catastrophe?

batfamily thought: we need to bring back where the boys really don't follow anyone else besides their dad. They can work with others and lead a team very well. But unless it's for a mission, they do not follow anyone else's orders besides Bruce or Alfred. Especially if they're a person in a position of power they have zero respect for. The boys give batman a hard time and feel safe enough to question his orders or his methods (especially Jason), but at the end of the day he's their teacher. It's just built in the respect they have for him. Everyone else, if the bats don't respect you or don't need to fake respect for you they are full chaos gremlins. The worst is Dick. Because he is full of disrespectful while he has a flirty smile on his face. It's just this air of hidden superiority Dick has. Dick has been with batman the longest, someone he considers the "best". He can count on one had the people he's met that should be considered the "best". Yet Bruce is not fully aware of the type of loyalty he inspires.

Dick, tilting his head to the side painfully slow, eyebrows ever so slightly raised: “I’m sorry. Was that…a request?”

The dichotomy of Batman and Robin is so fucking funny because on one hand you have a brooding, dramatic millennial with a rigid moral compass and a sense of extensional dread, and on the other you have an emotional support child that is somehow the literal embodiment of both sunshine and straight-up murder.

Twin!reader who’s easily sick. They can’t be a hero, they can’t fight, they can’t go out on patrols. They have to live that normal life while their whole family and twin fight bad guys. Damian always comes back home, getting dressed to relax. To take care of his beloved twin. He sits on the edge of their bed, making them take medicine, vitamins. You name it. The twin could only frown in sadness, telling Damian that they “don’t need care.” Damian felt a little anger, but was calm on the outside.

It was always his duty to protect his twin. He’s not letting you perish by your weak immune system. You will be healthy, even if it kills him to realize that you are actually dying inside.

but yeah in the same vein of Bruce’s kids only following his orders in the field…of course they do. in Gotham, if you don’t hit the deck when Bruce says “Down!” you’re getting hurt, at bare minimum. there’s no questioning orders or hesitating. you have to trust that when B tells you to do something, it’s in your best interest, or in the best interest of the civilians, to do it — and do it really fucking well. really fucking fast.

that doesn’t mean the JL give orders in the same way, even though they’re well-intentioned. that doesn’t mean they fully grasp an emergency scene or its civilians’ needs. they might not realize how risky an order they, as a meta, give to a fully human vigilante is. they’re not a tactician the way Bruce is — they’re not thinking in plans, and backup plans, and fallback plans and extractions.

so yeah, Dick doesn’t take direct orders from anyone but B. of course he doesn’t.
